Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We had never been, but heard good things about the place so we wanted to try a variety. We got the fried pickles as our appetizer. The pickle spears were thick and juicy! The beer breading was perfect. We ordered a NYC pizza to try, as well as the Deli Lama and the Buffalo chicken wrap. I got the sweet potato fries and my husband got the regular fries. Some of the best pizza I've had!! Full of flavor and we loved the toppings. My wrap was packed with chicken, and the kitchen was happy to accommodate my request to add pickle slices to it. The sweet potato fries had a cinnamony sugar dusting that was a delicious pairing with my buffalo chicken wrap. His sandwich was also big and the slaw was great. Excellent excellent food!! Food was tremendous. Wings were very crispy and meaty. Loved the Cajun rubs they accommodated every request, from "on the side" condiments to "light cheese" on pizza. I'm not an easy order, but our server nailed it. Gotta give the whole 5 stars here. Food was quick to cone out, everyone was pleasant. We didn't even mind our 2 person mini table where we were seated quickly on a Friday evening. The cons? Alcohol was pricey. A Long Island for $14? Wanted to go in for a quick bite to eat. The bar is where we decided to sit. The menu had a bunch of different choices and they did have the option for Gluten Free was super nice. They had it for all the sandwiches and they had a Cauliflower Crust for Pizza too. I decided on the Mushroom Guyere Burger with a Gluten Free Bun. I initially tried the burger with the bun but it practically made it have no flavor. I decided then to try it without the bun and it was much better. The burger had light seasonings but the mushrooms were delicious! The fries were a good portion size but when I got my food the fries were cold and kind of stale tasting. The bartender was friendly but she didn't check on us but once and chatted away with a couple of guys at the bar and gambled a bit. I would also not recommend getting a High Noon or Surfside- $9 bucks a drink is super steep for a Seltzer. Id go again for their cold deli sandwiches those are good and the fresh made chips are delicious as well! read more

We have been here a few times for takeout and its becoming one of our go to for the common occurrence of " i forgot to defrost the chicken" nights. I always go for the cold sandwiches, and a favorite of those is the goodfella. Its the classic Italian grinder sandwich done superbly. The chips are also worth of mention, they are a thick homemade chip that is spiced perfectly. I highly suggest for the other burgers etc. to sub out the fries for chips and you can thank me later. Beer selection was unique and good. One star knocked down cause I ordered a beer and had to flag down another waitress after 10 minutes to get it. My first beer had a chipped glass and she wanted to pour it into another glass and I was worried about fragments so she got me a new one. Waitress didn't check in when I would have asked for chili flakes when the pizza was served and she disappeared for 20 minutes. Well worth it and I would go again. read more

Food and service are always solid. Draft list is generally pretty good (nothing crazy rare but at least some good local favorites). Beer battered pickles and onion rings are great apps (make sure to get fiery ranch with both!). Wongs are priced but we'll worth it - my favorites are sesame Asian and chipotle BBQ. Pizza choice is difficult as they are all amazing....the Spicy Fella and NYC and Peppadew are my top 3. Cold deli sandwich suggestions: Goodfella (tapenade on this is MONEY) or Godfather (think Italian on steriods). Top hot deli sandwich suggestions: Deli Lama, hands down. All sandwiches come with homemade Cajun chips (pro tip: ask for side of fiery ranch to dip chips in) but you can upcharge to sweet potatoes fries or a side salad (recommend champagne vinaigrette). One thing to watch out for....parking lot is TINY. Each business in the strip only has a few spots but there is parking around back...so never fear! read more

Top notch pizza and wings. Recently moved to the area, it was the first restaurant we visited after unloading the moving truck. We were hungry and this place filled the bill. Nice little restaurant on top of a hill off of the interstate. Looks like a great place in the summer months with their outdoor seating. It was packed but we got a table in the back. As we would soon discover with most restaurants in Pittsburgh it's the norm to have a nice selection of craft brews and Goodfellas had a varied selection. The service was very good. The drinks and apps came soon after we ordered. Amongst the entrees we ordered the pizza was the star. We got the basic toppings nothing "fancy" and the pizza was sublime with a perfect crust. As I drove by the empty storefront that was once MT NEBO PIZZA ROMA, my favorite pizza place for over 20 years, I hoped the pizza from Goodfellas would be even better. Or at least worth the fact that the restaurant's desire to expand had shut down my tiny takeout spot forever. When I called to order they weren't overly friendly, but I figured it was Saturday night and they were busy. When I walked in to pick up, they didn't seem very crowded yet again I wasn't met with much warmth. I'd eaten there a year ago, but only a salad. Back then the food had looked delicious and people raved about the pizza. Tonight there was no raving. In fact, this was truly the WORST pizza I have ever eaten in my life. It was over cooked, and the crust (usually my favorite part) was so burnt and hard that I didn't eat it for fear I'd break a tooth! The bottom was chewy as if it was microwaved. It in no way looked (see photo) or tasted like it was freshly made and was the size of a small for most pizza joints but at a price of $15. (There are no prices in their online menu so I had to call ahead to even find out.) For that price I could go to most pizza places and buy a LARGE, 2-topping pizza that would most certainly have tasted better. The old pictures of pizza from Goodfellas on this site are from 3+ years ago...and definitely not what they're serving today. Sadly I won't be returning for pizza or any other menu item. Been coming to Goodfellas for years - eating in as well as doing take-out. We love their burgers! Recently, our last orders have been botched. The burgers seem to be done differently (not the same seasoning or lack of it) and the sweet potato fries seem dry and over-cooked. I have visited Goodfellas for lunch many times as it's one of the few lunch locations in the area and a good meeting spot between true city and the northern suburbs. Goodfellas has many great lunch sandwich options that don't disappoint. I'm a fan of the Rachel and the fish sandwich. On our way home to the south hills we decided to try somewhere new, so happy we did! We were greeted by the lovely girls working who were so kind, friendly and always on top of service! Even with minimized capacity, the environment was welcoming and they had on college football, always a plus. The beer was served incredibly cold and quite delicious, they have a handful of fall and pumpkin options in addition to the traditional beers. They also have 6 packs to-go! I had the veggie wrap with no cheese (vegan friendly) I was so happy just to have a simple vegan option and not have to stress. It was accompanied with their delicious seasoned fresh fried chips, yum. My husband had the bacon cheese burger and really loved it as well! It came out hot and the bun was fresh!
