Moonrise Doughnuts opens at night -- hence the name -- and sells its delicious doughnuts until they sell out. On the night I visited, they only had the special of blueberry doughnuts and orange donut holes left. I can't wait to try more of their sweet treats, but these were more than enough to satisfy a craving for morning pastries at night. These were also delicious the next morning, so if you want doughnuts for the morning, cross that to-do list off your list and pick these up the night before. One look at his IG and you won't be able to deny his creative talent. Sadly, Covid-19 times have really hurt his business in terms of wedding and birthday cakes. Typical for such a creative genius, he's designed weekly boxes for pick up at his home licensed bakery in Mason. How the boxes work: He puts out a menu of the theme he's chosen for the week. Everyone is given a time to email him requesting a box (this is usually around 10am). You send your email exactly at that time and hope you get on the list. If you made it, you quickly get a confirmation email with all the details for pick up times/location and how to pay. Pick up is typically a Saturday or Sunday from 10a-1p. Some of my favorites include: strawberry pizza pockets, cinnamon toaster strudel, prosciutto and brie pastry... he's so creative! I've seen donut boxes, cookie boxes, 90s boxes, Friends box, pastry pocket boxes... he's basically limitless.
