This is such a lack-luster donut. It has the taste and texture of a roll of paper towels. Long John, glazed, and cinnamon twists should be a standard for most shoppes that have been around as long as Emerson's. If your in Northern Ky your better off going to Oakbrook Bakery, Pink in a Blanket, or Servatti, atleast you'll get something edible. read more

I am a loyal customer of Emerson's, but I purchased a chocolate cream pie and a box of the pecan cookies with the powdered sugar on them. When I got them home, my Mom tried a piece of the pie, and said it didn't taste good at all. So I tried a piece and it was awful. It had no taste, and the crust was soggy. I then tried a cookie, and it tasted like they were fried in really old oil. This type of thing has happened before and I think they have a hard time getting rid of their old inventory of sweets. I ordered a cake for my son's 12th birthday. He wanted a fishing theme cake. It was very difficult to find anything with this theme. I was able to find a picture that seemed like it would work. I shared the picture with the baker and forwarded it to the cake decorator. When I went to pick up the cake... it was AMAZING! It looked exactly like the picture. I was thrilled and my son was soooo happy. All the guests were also impressed. The cake tasted great too, no skimping on that part either. Thank you Emerson ! It was a great birthday. read more

What an adorable classic bakery in a small hidden strip mall. Family run, local, and sweet staff. They seem to have a great selection of everything from strudel, donuts, muffins, and cookies to amazing looking Cakes and cheesecakes. They also had some impressive looking cupcakes (but me personally I do not like cake). On this occasion I tried their cheesecake brownie and eclair. Both were delicious! So happy I accidentally stumbled upon this place and I will definitely be back to try more goodies! read more

Purchased petit fours from the Erlanger location which was about 15 miles from my residence and when we tried to eat them they were so old and stale it was unbelievable the exterior icing was hard and actually cracked when it was bitten into. The inside cake was hard hard hard and certainly not edible. I called the bakery and was told that I had to return the items to the bakery immediately with the receipt showing that they were recently purchased and then I could replace them with another bakery product. This was totally unacceptable and unbelievable!! I had been a customer of the Florence location from the time I moved to KY In 2008 but of course will never return to any Emerson's location. read more

I was looking around to place a SMALL order of cookies for my sons baptism. I called Emerson's bakery in Erlanger and If I remember correctly I spoke with Peggy. From what I thought she was helping me out a great deal. I specifically told her that I wanted to place a small order of 1 dozen cookie (12 cookies) and I wanted some butter cookies with the icing in the middle. She said that was no problem and she was pretty sure she could place that order, and that if anything was wrong with the order that she would contact me right away. I gave her my cell phone number and she repeated back to me "1 dozen blue cross cookies and 1 pound of the butter cookies with yellow and blue centers." I told her I was looking to spend around $30.00 at the most. We both figured it to be around $22.75 which sounded great to me. Well when we went to go pick up the order they had made FOUR dozen cookies and FOUR pounds of the butter cookies. We already had two other cakes for the baptism and were basically getting these cookies for the kids. I spoke with the manager Mary Anne and she gave me the run around saying at one point she did see the original sheet where the order was taken and then in the same breath she said well I'm not at the store right now I can't see the sheet. I called back up there and spoke to another employee and she said that the way the person who wrote the order their number one looks like the number four on the order form. At no point during the telephone conversation did four come out of my mouth when ordering the cookies. I am so angry and disgusted with the way that I was treated at Emerson's. The grand total ended up being $94.00 on COOKIES let me add...cookies that I thought would be around $22.00. There was no reasoning what so ever with them at all it was my word against there employees. Mary Anne the manager was supposed to call me back on the following Tuesday because the owner was out of town. She didn't even call me on that Tuesday as she promised me as I was in tears on the phone. She took the easy way out and left a note and had one of her employees call me. Someone who had no clue what was going on. What ever happened to patient satisfactory apparently they care nothing about this. I do realize that people do make mistakes but they would not budge with the money or even owning up to the mistake. I was even willing to be nice and meet them half way with the cost. Still no progress. If it was a little mistake of $10.00 or $20.00 I would have said forget it and ate the cost, but $70.00 is a big difference. They ended up giving me back a measly $20.00 which means I still payed $70.00 for cookies that I planned on paying $22.00 for. To top it all off the lady who originally placed the order called me up and apologized for writing down the wrong amount. So she admitted to messing up my order and I still couldn't get my money back. Needless to say at my sons baptism we told all our friends and family of this horrible experience. I will continue to pass along this story to friends, family, and even strangers. I would not recommend this bakery to anyone. A very unhappy customer read more
