This venue is a combination of a Gulf Express fuel station and Chick's Services, Inc. - which…read moreincludes your run-of-the-mill gas station style convenience store chock full of bottled soda and water, snacks, and other such products. Chick's also does auto repairs. I stop in here to fuel up the car. Pay at the pump, swipe credit card, fuel up and go! Very convenient!

I have been to many service centers and dealerships over the years but since I've found Chick's I…read morego there for everything. The work is always done well and in line with costs when I check online but the main reason I go back, send my grown kids there and recommend it to everyone is because of the trust factor. It's hard to find a mechanic you trust not to rip you off but here are two instances that gave me trust in Chick's. I ran off the road avoiding a deer and my front tire was buried in the dirt and hit a rock. The next day my tire was flat and the car felt a little strange when I drove it with my old spare. I took the flat tire and my car to Chick's and when I came back they told me my tire was ok, just had been pushed off the rim. They had cleaned out the dirt and fixed it but the mechanic said there was a slight bend on the front rim which was what I was feeling when I drove but he said it would be expensive to replace and if it was him he'd just leave it. Then when I asked how much I owed he said it was no charge! Another time my daughter brought her car in with a check engine light, they ran it through a diagnostic and figured out it just came on because the gas tank seal had lost pressure probably due to the lid not being put back on after fueling one time. They fixed that and reset the warning and again said no charge because it hadn't been much work. I have the one car, a job I have to get to and live paycheck to paycheck, they always work with me on getting my car in on my days off and back before I have to work. They never push extra work on me, have always given me fair and accurate estimates and help me break the labor up by priority whenever the cost is more than I can handle that month. Just took my car in this week, they fixed the problem quickly and also alerted me that my brake pads and rotors needed to be replaced and wouldn't pass inspection but that it could wait until then without more damage being done and they would honor the estimate of $267 for the front brakes and rotors whenever I brought my car back in. Getting a car fixed is frustrating but at least it feels better when you can trust the people doing the work and believe what they say.

I specifically asked to be notified before anything was dropped, transmission, pan, etc... Well the only diagnosis was they dropped the trans pan anyway without authorization, sent a short video of very fine metallic particles that gather in all transmissions and said you need a new transmission for $5500-$6000. There was no other diagnosis to come to that conclusion, it shifts fine, just is throwing error codes due to a specific failing part, not an entire transmission needing replaced. Regardless, when I went to pick it up the next day after declining their offer of a new transmission based on that expert diagnosis, thankfully I noticed the brand new leak under the transmission otherwise the transmission would have been toast. The service tech only screwed in the drain bolt 3 turns, if I would have left the parking lot all my fluid would have came out within a few miles and I would have needed a new trans immediately. Thankfully I could use my fingers to screw it back in until I could get home to get a wrench. In addition to that I now have a leaking transmission pan gasket from where the unauthorized pan drop was done and am a quart low on fluid. And I paid for that diagnostic service to have it come out worse than I brought it in with the original problem never even looked into. Even the check engine lights weren't reset that it came in with. It would have been better if they had done nothing at all. Please steer away from this transmission shop at all costs.

On my way to work, my hydraulics went out on my manual transmission, making shifting impossible. I…read morebrought it to Aamco, and they knew exactly what the problem was and how to fix it. They were able to fix the problem the same day! I highly recommend them if you're having any transmission issues.
