Had my car towed here on a Thursday morning. The car needed a cylinder coil replaced. That's two hours worth of labor at most. I didn't get my car back until four days later. I believe I only got the car back after four days was due to me going to the shop and sitting there for hours on the fourth day. I had called the shop numerous times throughout the day with no answer. As I'm swiping my card to pay "Jay" he says "oh by the way, someone must've went through your" . I go to my car to find my car rummaged through with sneakers stolen, a bottle of liquor and a starter gone. He says "yea that happens sometime, we park the cars up the street and leave the doors unlocked". They must think the customers that they serve in urban areas are retarded. It took everything in me not to vandalize the place. It was an inside job, I'm sure. I pay close attention to details. DO NOT LET THESE PEOPLE WORK ON YOUR CAR!! read more

Took my Ford Crown Vict there 3 different times because they didn't fix my AC Correct.... I picked up my vehicle after closing hours and someone broke two of my windows.... I told Moon and J and Nobody GAF..... I wasn't compensated for my window.... Thy are beefing with someone in the neighborhood and they mess up customers cars at night.... Moons replaced the transmission in my Tahoe and it kept having issues. They (Moons) kept saying that there was nothing wrong with it. I had to take the truck back almost every month because it kept pulling, skipping, and then started with this vibrating. Finally had enough of their rush jobs. Had to take my truck to another mechanic shop and they found something broken inside the transmission. I will NEVER take any of my vehicles back to Moons! The amount of money they charged to do the work should have guaranteed their work. If I could give them less than one star I would. read more

They don't greet you when you pull up to direct you to the person to speak with. It's old and dirty and a million cars out front. The mechanics look unbothered and so does the staff inside. In order to get a diagnosis you have drop your car off 7am and leave it, until god knows when. Not a good experience and they act like they do t really want our business in our community. Well I just ripped off by Moon's Auto Center for 100$ and then they tried to gouge me for another 80$ ,claiming the fly by night delivery company called Crane Cargo that's holding my package for ransome unless I pay 80 more dollars INSURANCE why did he wait till after I paid my 100 $ about the insurance, I didn't ask for insurance either , So hopefully someone from Moon's will contact me over this , why can't you get it back from Crane and ship ups like you said at first ,I will report y'all to the Maryland Better Business, police department, mayor, even dog catcher, anybody that can possibly help me put any scammers in jail , You actually get ZERO stars , I had to add at least one so it'd post , read more

If you have Throttle Body issues with your car DO NOT bring it to moon's or MAC Auto. When installing a throttle body it must be recalibrated and as I learned later that they don't have that type of equipment to do that. So I wasted my money bringing my vehicle to MAC's auto for a temporary fix. Initially I thought they had fixed the problem but less than two months later I was back for the same thing. I took for me to spend a little money and take it to the dealership to find out that they were installing it without calibration. I understand they are somewhat affordable but do not support these thieves. read more

I'm a District of Columbia Resident so of course I have to take my vehicle through emissions every 2 years. My vehicle failed July 2017 for the Catalyst Converter and Evaporation System. So, my Brother-n-Law suggested this place. Big mistake, I took my car there and they tell me I need the whole emission system change as stated above. Because of the failure code I received P0420. No problem. So, I let them do the work, cost me $800 and my car pass inspection. I go back through inspection this year July 2019 and it fails for the same code P0420 along with few other codes. My main issue is how is the car failing for the same thing I got fix 2 years ago if the work was done properly, that's insane..I shouldn't be experiencing this same problem so soon. (Catalyst Converter should last at least 10 years if installed properly).. I went back to them to discuss getting that work done over on them of course for free and to see about the other failure codes and the guy is talking about all the other failures except for the one he fixed that apparently is a issue as well, evading the fact that his work is faulty. This place thumbs down, they have a bad habit of keeping your car far to long. When you call them you can't get anyone on the phone, you would have to show up to get answers on your own vehicle. He had my car for 3 month than its was tow off his lot do to a court order against him I had to pay for the towing fee and storage he said that he would cover everything but now he only cover the towing fee because he said it's not his fault that my car got towed. I went to Moon's on the recommendation of a Porsche Panamera owner. I drive a Porsche Cayenne and needed front brake pads, rotors and a caliper...Moon's explained all the issues in detail and possibilities for the repair. In the end they were able to repair the caliper and complete all the work and then some all in less than a day and saved me a considerable amount of money. I have already started and will continue to recommend them to everyone-they were great, they do answer the phone, despite it ringing continuously, the high volume of traffic and customers. I took my car to moons shop in February of this year for them to replace my transmission. I waited 3 months for them to finished the repairs. when I picked up my car, the maximum oil light and check engine light was on. I called and spoke with Mr, moon and he stated to keep driving the car and the oil would go down. I was afraid to keep driving so I went on youtube to see if there was any way for me to get the extra oil out. I was able to syphon the extra oil out. I also noticed that the car was leaking transmission fluid. I called and spoke with moon to let him no that the car was leaking transmission fluid. He told me to bring the car back so he could take a look at it. He said it was a very bad leak and I should leave the car so he try to fix it. I was not able to leave the car that day but I dropped it off 2 days later. After several days I did not hear from moon I called to check on my car after being on hold for about 20 minutes. I spoke with jay the person that test drove my car and said that my transmission needed to be replaced. He said that they have been trying to get in contact with the shop were they got the used transmission from. My car ended up staying in the shop another 2 months before it was ready. When I picked my car up this time, the car was hesitating and when I stopped or put the car in reverse it would not go. I notified moon immediately. Once again he ask me to bring it back to the shop, this time I refused. I simply told moon that I was not satisfied with his work and that I will not be bringing my car back to his shop. I ask him to refund me my money. Mr moon said no because he would be losing money. I explained to him that I have lost my each and every that I have had to bring this car back and forth using uber for transportation. So, than I ask moon to give half of my money back he still said no. I told moon to have a good day and I hung up the phone. This was a waste of my hard earned money and time. read more

I've used Moon's for over 15 years and all my family come here too. We have had good work done on ALL of our car. Yes they are super busy because the prices and low. I was just there a couple of months ago for brakes the deal wanted $$$. Mr. Moon charges half of the dealers price. I've been there many of times and have heard people trying to get the price down on the work being done. How many places you know where people can to pay in installments!! I have had my SUV and Cadi there for different issues and they always have found the issue and charged me less than the Dealer. You go to Moons for work to be done not to pay for a pretty service area. You go to moons for great work. They may speak in their own language to each other, who cares. read more

i took my car there to get serviced on a Monday morning. They assured me they would have my car fixed by Tuesday. On Tuesday they never contacted me. I had to call them many times ( their phone service sucks having only one line and going straight to voice mail MOST of the day). When I finally talked to someone they told me they would call me back at 5 pm. Of course they did not and when I called i got the voicemail ( they close at 6). To make a long story short they had my car for a whole week giving me promises every day of my car being fixed. On Friday i went to the shop ( that's thy only way you will get real answers, over the phone they tell you anything and rush you off) only to find out one of my parts had never been delivered and the one they did order was the wrong part. My car was there for an entire week for NOTHING, not to mention I paid the $525 in advance for the repairs. All they could do is say "sorry" and give me my keys back. They said the parts were hard to find used and very expensive brand new. I went on ebay and bought the parts brand new for less than what they were charging for the used parts and did the entire installation myself. I should of never went there in the first place. incompetent. over priced. poor customer service. I do not reccomend at all! read more
