My daughter's car was almost overdue for inspection, we knew it needed new tires, timing belt and water pump. Friends recommended C&C. I just stopped by. I shared that I had my daughter's car because she was going to be out of town for several days and asked if there was anything they could do. We also wanted a lookover just to see if the old car was worth putting the money into. C&C was great. They said they could do a courtesy inspection if I could leave the car. I did and in less than a week they were able to do all the work necessary by just squeezing me in. The entire staff was great. I think I will begin using them as well. Recently needed A/C repair and wanted to avoid running the gauntlet of "recommended service" at VA Tire. VA Tire is fine if you need to get an oil change at a reasonable price within the day, but be prepared for the additional 5 pages of recommendations and other paperwork that come with it. I was looking for a new honest local auto repair shop close to my home and came across C & C. I needed a few simple things done.. oil change, change my serpentine belt and change my spark plugs. Came in on a thurs and set up an appoinment for the following Monday. Was told that they had an empty schedule and it would be done that morning. Come Monday, I drop off my car at 7:30am. I gave them a call at 11:30 to check the progress of my car and they tell me it wasn't pulled in yet. I call again at 2:30, 7 hours after drop off and got the same answer with no excuse on why. I ended up going to my local Jiffy Lube instead which got everything done in less than 40 min. If you go here, dont plan on leaving your car expecting it to be worked on.. because it wont unless you wait around in person for it. read more

Not sure what's up with the review from the previous guy my experience is totally different. Being mechanically proficient myself I know when mechanics are blowing smoke and these guys knew cars and were honest and trustworthy. Prices were very reasonable and much better than having it done at a dealership. They always called when they said they would (which has always been hit and miss for me at dealerships) and being a small family owned business gave real personal attention which is very very nice (again, compared to the dealer...). In fact, I bet if Iy d (or however you pronounce that...) took the car back to C & C rather than the VW dealer, they probably would have fixed it all up for free, squirrel funeral included. That's just a plain silly move in my opinion. If you bought a faulty computer from Best Buy, would you then take it to Walmart and pay to get it fixed? Hell no you'd go back to Best Buy and tell'em to fix it or get you a new one. Probably karma, squirrel killer! Sadly, imparting common sense isn't included with the mechanic work. Chris and Kenny were great. When they drop you off at your work you get a chance to show/tell them what the problems are and so they can relay that to the mechanics doing the work. At every other repair shop I've ever been to, that opportunity has never presented itself. You tell the service rep what your problem is and they have to guess and interpret for the mechanics. Wow, don't know what on earth happened to the 1 stars, but this is the best company we've ever used in the 30 years in N.VA. Took a car in to the place we usually used. As always, it was going to cost $1,000-$1,200. Got tired of hearing that. Got a recommendation to C&C. They checked out the car and couldn't find any of the problems we were going to pay big bucks for. Have been going to C&C for about 3 years. We're always surprised at how little they find wrong with our cars. They've done many small things without charging. Have helped us patch together a '93 Mercedes until we decided to give up. The only shop I go to. Trustworthy, fair prices, great staff, and good timing. Every time I drop my car off I'm told they'll get back to me in a day or 2 which is fine, but always end up calling me day of. They always give me options on repairs, what is urgent, how long I can go without getting something done, and anything else they might notice. And there's never any pressure to get something fixed which I respect and appreciate the most. I go here for something as simple as an oil change and inspection, but without a doubt would come back for anything more serious. read more

Well I was in search of a Mechanic to replace my mechanic of over 20 years. However I had informed them I work nights and can only be contacted via email or text but the mechanic choose to call me. I did not know they were delaying work on my car because of his actions. Then when I told him that if he would just ask his office to text or email me I would call in and find things out he said for 98/hr labor he did not care about my car or me and used an expletive saying he did not care that no one texted or emailed me. So though the desk staff are nice this is not a place I will ever use again. Cursed me out and said my cheap car he did not car about. I guess he is there for rich people. read more

One star because I can't select none. They quoted me 4.5 hours for the Alternator installation and an additional hour for purging, disconnecting, and re-charging the a/c compressor. According to the Mitchell auto repair books, and 2 other major garages, the 4.5 hours includes the A/C work. That was a $100 hit. They charged me $350 for a Denso alternator I can get for $129. I know parts are marked up to cover warranty expenses, but that's quite the markup. I spoke to them and told them they overcharged me by about $200. They agreed to send me a gift certificate to make it right. That was almost 2 months ago and no enchilada. These guys are highway robbery. Avoid them like the plague. read more

There's been several times where I was told it could be a expensive repair but later turned out to be something small once they looked at it. Plenty of opportunity to make a quick buck. Big Fan of C&C! Not only are the guys that work there super friendly, they are honest and will not recommend a bunch of repairs you don't need and can't afford. My co-worker referred me to C&C and I have been 100% satisfied over the 3 or 4 years I have been going there. I think they do great work, they keep my car running smoothly and they don't charge you an arm and a leg like the dealerships do. In fact I have taken my car to C&C many times to fix shoddy work done by local dealerships.
