This was the best metaphysical store I have been to in Washington and Oregon. They have a wide variety of books, oils, incense, sculptures, smudge sticks, herbs, crystal's and so much more.

So many rare essential oils reasonably priced!

Absolutely love the owner of this shop. Such a sweet soul and truly shows her heart and knowledge in this world. She is genuine and non-judgmental as to how much you may know and humbly do not. I always feel at home and welcomed into this shop, as family. Please support this business. I loved how thoughtful they were on wipe's, masks and cleanliness. I always leave with priceless pieces that compliment my life and are of great quality. Perfect place for a unique and thoughtful present! 10/10

I love this place the taro reading I got was amazing and spot on the nice lady who runs the shop was so helpful and patient. I'm from Hawaii and we love to "talk story" and this lady and I was talking for a good half hour to an hour about a bunch of things. She made me feel so comfortable I definitely recommend coming here if your just starting out she will definitely help you and teach you. I can't wait to go back and build my crystal collection!

So happy I happened upon this shop today as I was heading down NE Killingsworth after an…read moreappointment (and a pit stop at Tehuana Oaxaca food truck who have the Best. Tacos. Ever.) As I was driving by, a blue and white robe in the shop caught my eye. Seriously. I could tell it was made out of Turkish cotton and I have been trying to find Turkish Cotton bath towels. I pulled a U-y, parked, and ventured it. There is a bit of everything in the shop, vintage and modern, just as their card states. Beautiful, affordable jewelry by Amaree & Reece (love their designs) and other local jewelry artists. There is a vast selection of sun glasses in fun mod and vintage shapes. They had Mia Clogs, which I used to wear in the 70s! I didn't even know Mia was still in existence. In the back of the shop, there are vintage dresses, hats, purses, shirts and more. The robe that caught my eye was indeed Turkish Cotton. In fact, the shop is known for their collection of Turkish Cotton and has striped towels in every color with white: navy, aqua, pink, fuschia, purple, yellow, mint green, peach, gray, tan, multi-bright, multi-blue and more. I love Turkish Cotton because it's super absorbent, washes well, dries quickly and takes up no space. Since I am in the pool 1-2 times daily (lap swimming and water aerobics) a towel that adds no weight to my gym bad, gets me dry, and dries quickly is a win-win-win! Marcy, the owner, always offers one or two colors at a special price to encourage people to try them. Today the basket had the multi-bright and the multi-blue. Since blue is my favorite color, there was no hesitation! I bought a bath sheet and a matching hand towel that I will use for my hair. Can't wait to tell my swimming buddies because they will all want them! Marcy, the owner, was very friendly and helpful while allowing me to browse uninterrupted and just enjoy trying on hats and sunglasses along the way. I'm definitely adding Shipwreck to the list of shops that I visit just to see what's new. Until the next time, I will enjoy the heck out of my new towels.

When I randomly…read morediscovered that Portland has an occult bookstore (NOT Spiritual or New Age a la Renaissance bookstore) I was intrigued and made a note to check it out before I left town. I'm not sure anything can ever come close to the epic uniqueness known as Watkins Books in London, but between Dark Star Magick, Renaissance Bookstore and Powell's , Portland comes mighty close. This is an occult bookstore. Meaning, that there really isn't much in the way of crystals, angels and New Age potboilers from the likes of Joe Dispenza or Louise Hay. What you will find however are books and tomes by folks like Aleister Crowley, Julius Evola, Nicholas Flamel and even Anton Levay. There are whole sections on Enochian Magick, Satanism, Choas Magick, Spellcrafting, Demonology, Angelology, Alchemy, and advanced Pagan and Wicca stuff. The burly store owner stands guard in his kilt and keeps a watchful eye over the store. There are a few seats available to sit down and look over the books before deciding which ones to purchase. I even saw some rare first edition grimoires in some glass cases with price tags veering towards 4-digits. I hope they stick around because every city needs a store like Dark Star Magick.
