Dishes we tried: Xinjiang Special Lamb (1 pc): Decent, but nothing memorable. Mongolian Beef: Unfortunately, it was a bit tough and hard to chew. Garlic Eggplant: Way too garlicky, my partner definitely didn't want to kiss me afterward! Chinese Lettuce: Loved the crunch, but it lacked flavor. Spicy Bullfrog: Great texture and tasted similar to chicken, but I wasn't a fan of the flavor. It was also quite oily. What I'd recommend: Lamb with Fat: Perfect if you enjoy slightly fattier cuts like I do. Pork Belly: Not bad at all, but best enjoyed while it's hot. Grilled Gizzards: Pretty chewy, but enjoyable if you like that texture. Shrimp: Probably my favorite, well-cooked and not overdone. I really liked that there's parking available, and ordering through the iPad was super convenient. All the dishes come with pictures, which makes ordering easy. I also noticed a lot of groups celebrating birthdays here, the staff pauses the regular music and plays a birthday song, which adds a fun touch to the experience.

When we were in Portland, we dined in a similar restaurant only to made us realize Friendship BBQ has been in Seattle all along. We drove pass by it a lit if time and we finally tried it since we lived the similar restaurant in Pirtland and we were not disappointed at all. The skewers came with variety if flavor, not just the same seasoning for all. The variety if skewers were all also very interesting and amazing. Service is very attentive and skewers came out in waves which is perfect. Super recommend this restaurant if you love skewers.

I like it! Although it is pricey, I definitely went overboard with the ordering, and you order through app scanning qr code on the table, if you like the cumin flavor this place is for you! Service was standard. Definitely coming back, I want to try the oysters

Great place to grab Chinese bbq and food here! Super good service, I loved the skewers, it was so fun and delicious to eat! Everything here was good, I was stuffed! I highly recommend and would come back!

Love this place. Second time coming here and it never disappoints. This is authentic Chinese bqq and they have so many amazing skewers and dishes to choose from. We got their new menu items which was the sauerkraut hot pot with pork and it was super refreshing and delicious. Perfectly paired with the bqq skewers. They are also doing promo when you spend 88$, you get a plate of shrimp for free! The service is really fast and super nice. Great for late night eats and hanging with friends.

Authentic Chinese food specializing in skewers! Reasonably priced and lots of good options. Skewers were flavorful and tasty. Service was fast and friendly! With a big parking lot for easy parking.

I love a Chinese skewer place. It's part of a small plaza with lot parking. The restaurant itself was pretty full for a weekday evening. The interior is modern and clean. There's a tablet per table to order which is super convenient. We ended up ordering a variety of skewers, the chives, and the spicy clams. The restaurant provides a little hot plate powered by 2 little tea lights and aluminum foil. It's not supposed to cook anything, just keep food warm. I was a bit disappointed by that but oh well. The skewers themselves were still pretty delicious. I especially liked the special lamb and the lamb and beef with fat skewers. The clams were meaty and yummy too. There was one super grey clam which we obviously didn't eat. The chives were surprisingly good. I love the sauce they put on top, I wish there was more on that dish. Overall, a pretty good place. We had to ask for our rice after they seemingly forgot about it, but otherwise the service was really quick and nice. Not bussin, but a solid place when you're craving some cumin skewers for sure.

Skewers! We have tofu, pork belly, gizzards, beef hearts, lamb, some tofu skin wrapping vegetable thing.

Street food Chinese Skewers! And if you didn't know, Pengyao means 'friend' in Chinese. I came here with my family and they are now my pengyao which sounds kind of like a downgrade, but hey, it's still a fun time with having some pengyaos with you at Friendship BBQ! I was impressed how busy this place was. Skewers were all pretty solid. We had the pork belly, tofu, gizzards, cow hearts, tofu skin vegetable wrap thing, and some other ones I don't recall. The gizzards were my favorite. The heating grill did not really do much to be honest. The skewers are cooked in the kitchen and brought out after placing the orders via their tablet. We also got a few vegetable sides such morning glories and grilled Chinese egg plant. There chili oil hot pot items were quite good as well. Service is quite helpful (especially if you know Mandarin) and the food came out at a reasonable time. So overall, a pretty solid experience to enjoy with your penyaos and family which are your pengyaos if you come here.

Stopped by after ice skating in the kraken arena. We were seated immediately and the place had a nice vibe to it. It felt homey and warm. We ordered the skewer combo and the skewers were good and flavorful. The vegetable skewer had a strong numbing flavor to it and so did the egg drop soup, which is not my preferred, but some people may love it. The pancake was the fluffiest I've seen it, I do prefer crispy but my friend enjoyed the fluffiness. All the food taste kind of blended together and nothing was distinct but overall a great experience and would come again!

Been here many times, my husband and I love this place! Staff are super nice, very helpful and checks in from time to time. Food, we usually get the skewers and they're always great! We love skewers but they are always super expensive at the events or night markets here in the northwest. Prices in this restaurant are fairly affordable. Note: we tried the 30 skewers bundle before and those were pretty small and can get dry. We prefer ordering individual types of meat, the quality for us is much better when we ordered this way. Pretty clean place, a nice spot to hang out with family or friends

Alright this place deadass puts Chinese bbq spots in Vancouver BC to shame. The service comes faster than your barber trying to get you out after you get in 15 mins late. The assortments of meats that they have available rival that of a butcher shop from spine to tripe to heart and everything in between. All things that my mom never gave me growing up. Everything is spiced with cumin at least so don't be afraid to venture out haole bois and girls. Bulk approved and come hungry cause everything slaps!

Food was good, we loved it. A bit pricey with certain skewers, but overall not too bad. The set up was nice and the workers were nice. I do think that when they don't have customers, for some reason it's hard to get their attention. Maybe because it's so dead that they just go stand in the back and wait for the door ding. If it was busy I'm sure they'd be out front and around more often. Skewers came out as they finished preparing it. It didn't come all at once time. The seasoning was good. It is spicy if you order the regular seasoning. If you want it not so spicy just ask for less spicy, lol. Highlight of the show were the pig brains and chicken feet. The location sucks to be honest.

Solid 4 star with potential for 4.5 star. We decided to try this place and splurge a little since it was a celebration for us. We came right at noon and was the only one there, but eventually 2-3 groups came after. Ordering was pretty straightforward, it's on a tablet and you just choose what you want. We ended up ordering the hot pot skewers, the combo #2 and the Korean style squid. There was a promotion that if you spend a certain amount, you get a free cold dish which we got the shrimp in sauce. Hot pot skewers --- this is for people who likes variety. There was veggies seafood, meat, eggs etc and came in an interesting pot. Numbing spice was good and it also came with a peanut sauce for you to dip. I wish tr distribution was a little more even though, there was 5 skewers of tripe while others was 1 or 2. Combo #2: this came with beef, chicken and enoki skewers and a bowl of noodles soup. Again, the distribution of skewers could be more even. 3 chicken skewers 3 beef skewers and 1 enoki one. Te chicken was probably my favorite. The beef was small and enoki was good but there was only 1 skewers. The noodles soup was really good. Big portion with a good variety of toppings. Korean style squid - our favorite dish. At first it looks small for the price but it was a lot. The flavors was really good and they cooked it perfectly, not overly done or anything. Our free dish was also really good. The shrimp was plump and meaty, usually it would be $15 and for how big it is, it's a good price. We also got complimentary yogurt drinks at the end. Service was pretty good as well. The food came out pretty quickly. The server filled our water frequently and they did a really good job packaging our leftovers. Overall, a fun adventurous place to try and I would come back

The food came out very fast after ordering and though there were several other tables full of groups, they also got their food out quick as well. The noise level is moderate, but the high walls on the booths and the partitions between the larger seating area and the table and booth section helps to buffer the noise pollution between the areas. The La kalbi was very flavorful and cooked to perfection. The dish came with a side bowl of rice and assorted bon chon. I have dined here before so the interiors isn't too different just small changes. Let's jump to the food- I ordered the galbitang and it came with 10 different banchan. Which is a nice surprise since some restaurants aren't as generous in the banchan. The galbitang was so flavorful for a "clear" soup and the meat was tender. It also included a good portion of meat. I've tried galbitang at other places, but there was an umami that many didn't have. All the banchan were flavorful too, I thought the kimchi had a good balance as sometimes it can be a bit on the saltier side. Service was great too, the sever was friendly and checked often. When I went, it was just me then a couple arrived. There was a delay with their order so she provided some mandu on the house while their order was being prepared. Once they received their order, I heard the couple tell the sever that everything was very good multiple times- their food did look good! I recommend checking this place out especially with the new ownership. Menu looks similar from previous owners, but will for sure go back and try something else!

The menu is pretty extensive and I will note that their chicken dishes had a disclaimer that there might be bones in them. I also want to note that the online menu is not the same menu as the one I saw in store. I only got two items during my visit however they were both pretty good. The salt and pepper chicken wings tasted good, salty, and garlicky with a great fry texture. The stir fried rice rolls with xo sauce were seasoned well and some had a crispy exterior. Overall, a solid 3.5 spot for Chinese food in the area but a little bit on the pricey end. I'm not entirely sure if I'll come back as I think xiaolongbao house and honey court are much better.

Call me old fashioned, but I initially questioned the caesar salad served instead of the more traditional ssam or Korean-dressed salad. I enjoyed it, but I still think I would have preferred the more traditional vegetable offering to bring a bit more freshness and levity to the meal overall. Caesar was good and interesting, but definitely richer than the traditional option. The meat quality was even more excellent than we anticipated, and much to my delight, the banchan was very authentic. The kimchi definitely packs a punch and it really made me happy to see a nicer Korean restaurant stay true to authentic flavors instead of trying to appeal to the American masses. My first time, we came with another couple and ordered 6 dishes. My favorite part about this place is the rotating banchan that is unique and house made - different each time we came. My favorite dish both times were the cold noodles - refreshing and really tasty. They had solid seafood pancake and I really liked the soondobu also. Kalbi was OK and portion was pretty small. The second time we came also early on a weeknight and had a very long wait because they seem to be understaffed even though there was plenty of seating. Besides the wait (understandable, they did warn us), I would say the biggest disappointment was getting one of the combos. It seemed like a "good" deal (seems like it's meant for 3 people) but turns out, the dishes are even smaller than the already small dishes; for example, the stir fried squid was 90% vegetables, and they only provided 2 fried dumplings even though the portion does come with 3 bowls of rice so it is difficult to split. I would stick with just ordering what we want on the menu next time. A splurge, but decent place to take guests/entertain overall.

Drink orders were also wrong (lychee instead of passionfruit), and although refills were supposed to be included, no one ever checked on us. We ended up having to walk up ourselves multiple times to get any service. The only time staff came to the table was to drop off food. To top it off, there's a mandatory service charge, which feels excessive given the level of service (which was none)--especially in Seattle where employees already earn a $20+/hour minimum wage. Don't go here if you want service, come here if you want precut meat that you cook yourself, because that's pretty much what you get, after one smoothie refill, you'll just get watered down flavored ice. There are better hot pot restaurants elsewhere,.. go there. 2 STARS, only because the cuts of meat weren't horrible, vegetarian options were good, and portions were decent. But never returning to this establishment again, the service just SUCKS!

This was my very first time having hot pot and I'm so glad it was here because I had an incredible…read moreexperience! My boyfriend and I were seated immediately when we visited on a random Tuesday evening. While I appreciated the lack of wait, I would much rather they have properly cleaned off our table. The side of the table we were sitting at was sticky and the other side had crumbs all over the surface. We ordered the bone broth and the tom yum kung broth along with a selection of different meats to start which arrived at our table almost instantly. The 10 sec beef tongue was probably my favourite dish, I loved how flavourful it was and that it didn't take super long to cook. Second to that was probably the beef and lamb combo which cooked so tenderly and tasted delectable. I was so disappointed in the mini sausage, it took forever to cook and even after what felt like enough time, it looked uncooked and tasted pretty awful. Halfway through our meal, my boyfriend wanted sauce from the sauce bar but couldn't figure out where to get bowls. We tried for ten minutes to catch the attention of a server to no avail. We wished they had been more attentive so we didn't have to wait so long for help. Hopefully our next time getting hot pot goes smoother!!
