Brisket

Another incredible meal at brileys bbq. The seasonal veggie was corn on the cob. The fried catfish is thick and crispy, very good and now I'm addicted to catfish again

Pulled pork sandwich and bbq beans

Food was great! Large servings! Pulled pork sandwich was all I could do to eat. A side of beans was very tasty! My wife had a pulled pork plate with a side of Mac and cheese that was very good also! Service was awesome! Everyone was very attentive making sure you were content! It's what you'd think a BBQ joint would be and more . Rustic indoor and patio seating! We were just visiting family in Seattle so we won't be back until next time but my brother liked it as well.

I had enjoyed eating here in the past, but over time I've noticed what feels like a decline in overall food quality. I've also seen other recent customer reports describing negative experiences, which raises some eyebrows. On Sunday, February 8th (Super Bowl Sunday), we stopped in for a meal. I ordered the beef brisket + sides. Unfortunately, after eating here - that night & the following day my partner, and I both became sick with food poisoning. I became extremely ill with severe vomiting, headache, and systemic symptoms consistent with food poisoning. I had not eaten anywhere else that day or previous day. The severity of the illness was significant and unlike anything I've experienced before. It felt as if I was on my deathbed - I wasn't able to eat for an entire week. I had to cancel work. When I contacted the establishment and asked to speak with a manager, my concerns felt dismissed and I was told I must have gotten sick elsewhere, which was not the case. That response was disappointing. I take no pleasure in writing this because I enjoyed the experience. However, given the seriousness of what happened and the pattern of recent negative reports, I feel obligated to share my experience so others can make better informed decisions.

Outdoor seating.

Briley's is my favorite place for catfish! It's the only thing I order when we go there. Rolled in cornmeal and fried to perfection, it is truly the best I ever had! Love the sweet potato fries and bbq sauces and add a cider, I'm golden. The bbq is delicious too, never overcooked and a full plate. Try this place if you haven't already been. Go back if you have! Order at the counter and they bring it to you. Picnic style seating outside and tables inside. No frills environment with outstanding food.

My fiancé and I went in for a catering tasting today for our wedding in August and I am simply blown away by both the food and the service. Erik helped us out today and he sat down with us after giving us a full tasting platter to eat. He asked us questions about the wedding and how they could be of service to us the day of and leading up to. 100/10 experience and I am looking forward to learning more and potentially booking them for our upcoming wedding! Thank you again Erik and the Brileys staff!!

Regular place for my husband and I to get bbq takeout or dine in. There is a free parking lot but sometimes it fills up. Staff are very friendly and attentive. There's a lot of indoor seating and some outdoor seating as well with views of the water. They have two big TVs inside as well. I often get boneless wings, baked beans, or Mac and cheese. My husband likes to order the Iron horse or Harry Stamper sandwich. A must stop if you're in Lake City/Lake Forest Park

Food is a amazing experience. The customer service is beyond great. They have their own private lot and it's on a very common street so it's easy to locate ambience is also wonderful. You have a great view of the lake and this is a great place to go for a date dinner for the family or even by yourself you can eat there or to go as far as prices it does get spending it's about $25 a person.

Wicked dry brisket. Excellent hush puppies

Finally got to try this joint and was left disappointed. The good. The sides were great. The beans, cornbread, hush puppies and Mac were fire. Delicious on all counts. The bad. The driest brisket I have ever had in my life. Tasted old and kinda reheated. Which is fine if done properly. The meat was slightly above room temp. My wife got baby back ribs and they were fall of the bone dry and where way over smoked! My god, it was like eating liquid smoke. My suspicion is that we got microwaved proteins. We came here on a Tuesday and we got weekend leftover meat reheated by chef Mike. Overall. It had a lovely view, service was spot on, sides were great. Proteins were booty. I would try Briley's again on a Friday or Saturday when the food is probably fresher. See photo of beyond dry brisket

Unexpected! Tasty! Super casual. Great service start to finish! We've meant to stop here a bunch of times. Huge portions. Great selection of beverages. TVs for sports etc.

A very cute spot for yummy BBQ! I love that this place has indoor and outdoor seating. Now that summer is approaching, it is warm enough to sit outside and they are also dog-friendly (they prefer you to sit outside though). We came on a Tuesday night for dinner and surprisingly it wasn't really busy so our food came out pretty quick. I had the Dorfman Platter which came with two meat choices (1/2lb each), two sides, and 1 piece of bacon. I had the half rack of ribs, sliced brisket, coleslaw, and sweet potato fries. I liked the ribs the most, they were moist and very flavorful! I also shared the mac n cheese with some friends and it was not bad. Staff were attentive, friendly, and came to check on us a couple times. I will definitely come back!

On our way to Seattle, we were craving BBQ for lunch and glad we chose to stop at Briley's. Both the service and food were excellent, with the collard greens being a standout. The stunning lake view made the experience even better!

As said the service was fine but the food - hearth roasted mushroom frittata and breakfast burrito - was decidedly bland and under seasoned. Frittata was covered with an excessive mound of arugula. While peppery, it's asking a lot of arugula to carry/cover for a bland unseasoned water bath baked egg concoction with minimal caramelized onions and flavorless mushrooms. Desperately needs some herbs, garlic or strong cheese, some crisp edges... something. A side of chicken apple sausage was just okay. Breakfast burrito was disappointing in its own ways. Tortilla was gelatinously clinging together as if it had been prepared in advance, then reheated, and covered in what was called salsa but was more akin to basic excessively mild tomato enchilada sauce. The carnitas pork was unseasoned and dry. Potatoes were soft and lacking a crisp element that would have helped immensely. The only place salt seemed to show up was in the salted maple latte and in that it was a bit heavy. Likely not stopping back anytime soon.

I'd been to the State park before (before it became a hotel and bar) so I had a bit of an idea of where this cute little speakeasy bar might be, plus we also wanted to walk around & see "everything" before having our drinks. I will say that I would have ended up here much sooner (I've been wanting to go check it out for the past year or maybe even 1.5 years) but the fact that you either have to have a Discover Pass or pay $10 per car for parking, was what delayed me in making it to this bar. I truly feel that the Tonsorium Bar should validate parking and then they'd have a lot more customers. I already knew that the food and drinks at the bar were going to be pricey, and didn't want to pay the $10 parking fee on top of that. I finally found a friend who had a Discover Pass and who also wanted to check out the bar, so I did eventually make it! Once inside the building you need to find stairs and go downstairs. If you see an old barber chair, you know you've found the bar! They had live music when we went (and it was really good too), not too loud, not too quiet, just the perfect volume. The staff uniforms seem to be a green dress shirt or blouse, and all the servers & the bartender were nice and helpful. The fries were very good but a bit pricey ($9 seems a bit much for fries) and I enjoyed my cocktail. They also had quite a few items on their non-alcoholic menu (nice for those who don't drink or the designated driver) but I wish they would get some non-alcoholic rum as that is my favorite, and sadly that was one of the few things they didn't have. If you are vegetarian or vegan, you will probably love this place, as they have a lot of foods on the happy hour menu as well as the dinner menu to accommodate. Foods seemed to come from the restaurant upstairs and it was nice to see them bring the foods past us and get an idea of what all the menu items looked like. I kind of wished I'd gotten the steak salad, as that one looked really appetizing when they brought it out. Since this bar is "downstairs" there isn't really a view of the grounds, like the bar upstairs has, but this is definitely the "popular" bar, probably cause of it's cozy feel and speakeasy vibes. Looking forward to coming back when the weather gets warmer and maybe combining a walk/mini-hike around the grounds with a trip to the bar.

The chicken and beef skewers, as well as the gyro meat were tender and flavorful. The pita was fresh, aromatic, and delicious especially with the side of tzatziki. Nick, one of the owners/family members was super helpful with helping me decide what I wanted. The sampler platter was a decent sized plate. 1 huge chicken skewer, 1 beef skewer and two slices of gyro. My favorite might've been the gyro and chicken to be honest! The beef had great flavor, but had a slight chew to it. I enjoyed the Greek salad as well. Make sure to add lettuce to it, typically doesn't come with it. The meal was exactly what I was looking for and it hit the spot. That pita bread was MONEY, soft, warm, fluffy and goes great with the hummus. I WILL BE BACK!

The food was tasty with generous portions--we definitely left with leftovers. Service was friendly, but the pacing was on the slower side. We were expecting a more casual, quick meal, but it felt closer to a fine dining wait. Hubby ordered the Cobb salad and enjoyed it. Daughter went with the Carnivore pizza with thin crust - you can choose thin or regular crust. I had the fish & chips--with tots instead of fries. Both the fish and tots were super crispy, just how I like them. The slaw had a nice tang, and the house-made tartar sauce was on point. I live maybe 1.5 miles away, so I just wanted to order online and not have to pay a service to deliver that to me...that didn't seem to be an option. So, I drive there and the hostess / only waitress tonight (who was actually very nice) said "oh, you could have just called in and we can take the order on the phone" (well, that would have been nice to list on the website, but whatever. Then, I placed my order (for only 2 people). Personal pizza, chicken ceasar and tots. The other was a burger and tots. Now mind you, there were only 3 other tables with people eating in the entire place. She told me it would only take 15 minutes to get my food, so I go back to my car to wait, then at the 15 minute mark it wasn't done...not even close. I ended up waiting a total of 40 minutes for my food! Whenever I've been here before the food is decent, and sure...I expect to wait a little bit when it's busy, but I think the cooks were more concerned about getting out on time than cooking food! I hardly ever post reviews because I feel like it doesn't really matter anyway...but this was just too terrible of an experience to not share. I guess I'll have to budget 30 minutes the next time I want to order something here!
