Wonderful Chinatown small business. Owner and her mom were super helpful and accommodating our request for multiple floor arrangements for my father's funeral. Thank you Edna for making the work of choosing Mom's funeral flowers very easy and one less thing I needed to worry about. All of our arrangements ( casket, grand kids) all showed up and we're beautiful. Our extended family purchased from them as well and the flowers are very fresh and vibrant. Thought I'd consolidate and ordered from the same florist as the family for a funeral arrangement. I placed my order over the phone since they don't take online orders and there's no room in my schedule for an in-person visit. I must say I'm beyond disappointed. The Lavender Spray was not as full as the website portrays. On top of that...on the ribbon, it wrote from MICHELLE!!! My ultimate pet peeve SMDH. If I was a Karen, I'd demand a refund. read more

We contacted Moonstar Florist for our father's funeral and Edna was so helpful and gave us advice on flower selections. The shop also sells small envelopes for candy/money used in traditional Chinese funerals. We selected the flowers in person since they offer more options and we had questions. They delivered beautiful fresh arrangements on time. I also like that it's a family business. Highly recommend! read more

With mom's passing we wanted to honor her with really nice and colorful funeral arrangements from a local Chinatown florist. Thankfully, we found Moonstar Florist who did just as we needed. Thank you to Edna and her family on the special arrangements. I didn't take any pictures but I can tell you that they all came out just the same as the photos in their catalog. We ordered a casket spray along with several arrangements from the grandchildren that were on easels. I shared the business information with relatives and they ordered from here as well. Her mom took down my mom's name in Chinese in case anyone wanted this. Awesome! All of the arrangements arrived at the funeral home looking amazing. They were colorful and so fresh. I visited Mom the day after the funeral and everything was still looking good. While their store front isn't the most appealing these days, thanks to all the freaking robberies in Oakland Chinatown, just give the business a call and they will help you out. I highly recommend this great locally owned business. read more

I ordered a heart wreath, flower pillow, and a few sprays for my mother's funeral. The floral arrangements were gorgeous, large, and packed with flowers. The service was excellent and Edna guided us on our purchases on what's traditional for a Chinese funeral. The value was so reasonable and better priced than other florists. Hubby never orders flowers to be delivered so this was a first. 1.) it was our anniversary 2.) it was near my work 3.) great Yelp reviews. The delivery person arrived at lunch & I was not at the office & no one was able to sign for them. They called me on my cell. They were gracious enough to come back an hr later & again called to make sure I'd be there. The people were friendly & the arrangement was lovely, posted a pic already. It costs an arm & a leg (per hubby) but it was for our 10 yr anniversary & I am sure it would've cost the same somewhere else delivered. Overall happy with the flowers. I called Mountain View cemetery for recommendations of florist in area and Moonstar Florist was one of three listed. I called and spoke to Edna Lin one of the owners. She is bilingual and speaks perfect English and cantonese. I told her about the upcoming floral arrangement I needed for a family funeral at the cemetery , and mentioned the telefloral floral arrangements shown on her website (moonstarflorist.net). She said I could order any of those shown online, but if I was in the area, to come in to view their instore catalogue for a much broader choice of flowers and styles that she designed personally. Lucky I did, the variety, design, and choices she displayed in her catalogue was stunning to say the least. The choice of flowers, colors, combinations of roses, orchids, lilies, etc. showed her talents as a very gifted designer in my opinion. Above all, the prices quoted for the different designs was very reasonable, given the amount of plants and size of each arrangement. The prices are clearly labeled adjacent to each photo along with the item code. Yesterday, was the funeral, and the arrangement Edna created was beautiful and more than I could ask for. I like to support small local shop owners if possible, and this is one reason why....the personal service, the attention to detail, and a passion for their calling, this is all exemplified I think by Moonstar Florist. read more

Was in dire need for a floral arrangement for a funeral. The online shops were not consistent in there answers. Was redirect to Moonstar by a friend and I hit the best floral shop. Moonstar not only had the arrangements but they knew the place to deliver and to top it off, Moonstar had the better prices. This place is a A+ in my book. read more

I order a flower wreath this morning via phone for a friends' father's funeral about to start right now in Alameda, CA, for I live by Reno, NV and cant make it. The lady on the other end was very nice and helpful when I asked her what does the price range for the different size in wreaths because I've never ordered one before. My sister just texted, telling me the wreath I ordered is one of the big ones, on a stand and really nice... purple and white, along with other wreaths there. She tells me she's very impressed, thought it would be a couple hundred $$$ when I told her it was under $95. She's asking me where I ordered the wreath from for future occasions. Even though I'm unable to see the flower wreath I ordered, but from what my sister is telling me I'm happy its a nice one to pay one final respect to my friend's father. read more

Edna is an AMAZING florist! She arranged all my wedding flowers and all her arrangements, from the centerpieces, boutonnieres, and bouquets were absolutely beautiful! We planned together all the flowers all via email and she was always quick to respond and made great suggestions. I've used this place once before and remembered the beautiful arrangement my girlfriend received. Wow! I can't say enough about the service here. Just spoke with someone who helped me customize a bouquet and I had mentioned I was trying to spend under $50. Edna is wonderful! She is friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful. She worked with me to design my flowers for my wedding while keeping a budget. I wanted something different from the monochromatic schemes you often see for weddings--I wanted color! Now I am not a girly girl nor do I care about stuff being "perfect," but my flowers were AMAZING!!!! My bouquets were perfect. My corsages and boutonnieres were awesome. We inquired over a year in advance after seeing Lana's work at The Club at Ruby Hill wedding open house. Lana was responsive and took the time to go over everything I was envisioning for the day, from centerpieces to arches to aisle pieces to bouquets. When I brought up the idea of a floral chandelier, Lana was so excited to bring my vision to life and work with me to create the chandelier of my dreams, which was refreshing, since some other florists I'd inquired with weren't as enthusiastic about the idea. Lana is also super transparent with pricing, going through line by line what each piece would cost, and I found her rates very reasonable for the luxurious arrangements she offers. I also loved that I'd be able to reuse my ceremony arch and aisle pieces at the reception to surround the sweetheart table, which felt very much worth it. We also got a one-hour in-person design meeting with Lana about a month before the wedding, where she prepped a sample centerpiece and made real-time adjustments to her floral recipe based on our preferences. She was so receptive and detail-oriented, going over small things like where to leave the bouquets and boutonnieres on the day of, plus all the candle and centerpiece base options we could choose from. We were feeling a little burnt out from wedding planning by that point in our lives, but Lana left us with renewed enthusiasm and excitement for our wedding. On wedding day, Lana and her team were there bright and early. I think the first sight of the florals brought me to tears. They worked hard all day to transform the venue into the pink peachy princess wedding of my dreams. The team also added smaller bud vases to my In Loving Memory table and Sweetheart table, which was such a sweet touch. Despite being so busy, Lana still took the time to secure my personal bouquet charm so it wouldn't dangle around and would stay in place. I also found out afterward that our welcome banner was falling due to the wind, and Lana took the time to secure it with rope, even though it was completely outside her scope. It really speaks to her character, and I couldn't be more grateful to Lana and the team for a perfect day. Dream Flowers really was an absolute dream to work with. I stumbled on Dream Flowers here on Yelp after looking at many others, but ultimately decided on this one based on the designs, quality, Instagram posts, and reviews. I ordered online last year and asked for something elegant for a birthday. I didn't know what to expect as I chose up to the florist and whatever is in season. The recipient really liked her flowers and was thoroughly surprised. It lasted quite a while. I'm sure it looked more beautiful in person. I plan to order again this year.

We are incredibly grateful for this flower shop during a very difficult week for our family. Even though they were already fully booked, they still found a way to squeeze in our order for funeral flowers, and the results were beautiful. The florist was so patient and kind as we took our time choosing flowers, never rushing us and truly listening to what we wanted. What touched us most was her generosity. She gave us extra flowers so our kids could make a lei, which meant more to us than she probably realized. The arrangements were thoughtful, elegant, and made with real care. We were pleased with the actual arrangement. The full story: I ordered a stand-up floral spray from 1-800-FLOWERS for a funeral and wanted to add 6 boutonnieres but those were not available on the website. From the Heart Florist called to confirm and would add the boutonnieres and I would of course pay. They said it would be easiest to charge me direct for ALL (rather than the additional amount) and that they would cancel the 1-800-FLORIST order.....they never cancelled the original order, so I was essentially double-charged. I called the florist 3 additional times to try and resolve - mistakes happen, I was very understanding. Each time I was told that they would give Tiffani the message - no call was returned nor no action taken. Very disheartening and we were already dealing with grief. I will say that after 6 weeks of trying to resolve, I called 1-800-FLOWERS. I was not expecting that they would be able to do much especially since From the Heart marked their order as delivered. 1-800-FLOWERS immediately issued a refund and they were apologizing for an error that was not their own. The customer support for 1-800-FLOWERS exceeded expectations! It was their vendor, From the Heart, that missed the mark.

The delivery person was respectful of my property when delivering my bouquet. As the delivery was unexpected, I found him to be patient and professional while collecting my signature and surrendering the bouquet. My flowers are absolutely beautiful! I am appreciative of the collaborative effort between my BFF and the Florist as the final product is both stunning and embodies my preferences regarding the floral arrangement. It is now six days later and my bouquet is still as beautiful as it was when it arrived. For those who are unfamiliar with floral deliveries, accidents can take place when the flowers can arrive damaged, missing or broken, however that was not the case. The driver took such wonderful care during transit and delivery which directly attributed to the great shape they are in almost a week later. Should a future event require a floral arrangement, I am looking forward to exploring options with From The Heart.
