My family was in tears. We did get a message from Dr. Moore's office asking if we were able to find a local vet. The only one that gave us any hope. I have taken my dog to Dr. Moore's clinic for some time now and I will continue to take any of my animals here. What I personally enjoy is that she doesn't take many animals to the back at once so that the stress is minimized and the animals are comfortable. Update 7/23 Everything the person wrote down there is basically a lie. She's an up seller that lies to charge exorbitant prices. My dog was treated at McNeils Vet just a couple weeks after this experience and did not have serious dental disease like this lying person claims. McNeil pulled the tooth, that has more to do with the breed of the dog and his age and thoroughly cleaned his teeth, for $800. Dr. Moore wanted to charge over $1500. Don't waste your hard earned money at Dr. Moore's, go to McNeil Vet Services on Thompson and Hurst. Dr. McNeil is the Most honest person you will ever meet. No BS, no fear mongering, just straight talk and great care. Dr. Moore is not an honest person. She lies to scare you for more money.... her staff are obviously lairs as well as you can read below. If she could. She didn't because she doesn't care. Why would she have him sit in horrific pain for two months? Excellent care! My cat recently fell and injured her leg. She was limping badly and clearly in a lot of pain. I called at least a dozen vets in the area, and they were all booked for weeks. There are two emergency vets in town: Horizon and VMSG. Horizon isn't taking any new patients, even for emergencies, and VMSG is outrageously expensive. Dr. Moore's office was willing to see my cat within 24 hours! The only caveat was that I needed to be a little patient because they were going to squeeze me in between other appointments. Waiting a few minutes vs waiting several weeks or spending a huge amount of money at VMSG was a no brainer. The day of the appointment the staff was extremely friendly and competent. They moved like a well-oiled machine and were very efficient. I waited my turn and then Dr. Moore gave may cat a very thorough exam and treatment plan. They started treatment immediately. Dr. Moore is awesome! She has decades of experience, is highly skilled, ridiculously smart, down to earth, empathetic, focused on what's best for the animal and with no up-sell pressure. In fact, she talked me out of treatment options that wouldn't be worthwhile. Her support staff is awesome too. They are kind, patient and really care about animals. They went out of their way to make sure I was aware of all my medication options and talked me through each one to determine which would be best for my budget and my cat. I was relieved and grateful for being treated with so much respect and goodwill when I was a new patient that was squeezed between other appointments! While I was there, I saw other patients being treated with the same level of kind, efficient professionalism. While we were chatting, I asked why it was so hard to get vet appointments since covid began. They explained the obvious: more people have pets, more people are getting around to the pet maintenance they previously put off, etc. But they also shared that there is a high suicide rate amongst vets and that new vets are going out of business because the pressure is too great to bear. It's not that the animals are too much, but the demanding and aggressive pet owners just wear them down. That's so tragic. These people spend their lives becoming excellent in their field based on their love of animals only to be abused by the humans. Please be kind to vets and staff. They are working under very difficult circumstances to take care of our fur babies. They are suffering too. Please be patient and respectful. If you go see Dr. Moore and find that you have a little bit of a wait, please understand that they have been working over time since covid began and are bending over backwards to care for animals that otherwise wouldn't get care, or get timely treatment in the event of an emergency. A little patience and kindness would go a long way to support them while they support you and all the other fur babies they care for. I highly recommend this vet! read more

I have nothing but amazing things to say about Moore's - The staff were all friendly, welcoming and very knowledgeable. I'm a new cat owner, and they helped ease my anxiety regarding some symptoms my newly adopted cat was experiencing. My cat was recently adopted, and I was nervous about taking him from his new home and on another car ride/to another unfamiliar place so soon, but he responded extremely well to everyone at Moore's, and the staff was very cognizant about my worries as new pet owner, and the fact that my cat was dealing with a lot of transitions and changes due to the adoption process. About a month ago we had a very sick guinea pig. I live up in Frazier Park and started making numerous calls to vets all around the area. No one was able to see our baby for at least a week, until I called Moore Veterinary Care. Unfortunately Oreo could not be saved. I was very happy with the care we did receive though. Everything has been weird with COVID, but I still felt that the doctor tried to make the visit as comforting as possible. She even let us take our baby home to bury her. Since then we have received a beautiful sympathy card, and then today we received a letter in the mail that Dr Moore made a donation in Oreos name. It's little things like this that make the word of difference. I would recommend her to anyone that needs to find a vet for a guinea pig. read more

About two months ago my dog had his tail slammed in the door, I had been treating him for a week with another vet who had felt amputation was the only way, wanting to get a second opinion I called Dr.Moore's office and was graciously squeezed in. I was greeted by friendly staff and a knowledgeable doctor who explained in detail the wound, what it was doing, how it heals, and my options. She had recommended K-Laser something I had never heard of, skeptical at first I took a chance and couldn't have been happier with the results! A tail I thought I would have lost made significant improvement in just one treatment and after the fifth or sixth treatment it was pretty much closed, I couldn't be happier for my pup and it's all thanks to Dr.Moore and her lovely staff for being so patient with me, fitting me in at the last second, and healing my boy! Karen and all the staff at moore vet was excellent. We had a great experience, Karen is very knowledgeable and relatable. She answered all our questions confidently with her wisdom and was so sweet/ friendly with our dog. Our poor Petey got his tail stuck in a car door and ended up breaking it. He was so tough about it we didn't know the severity of it until we got to the vet, to find out it wasn't just fractured but completely broken. They took the best care of him and we're gentle with him. They give treats so Petey was automatically friends with everyone. They suggested he get K Lazer treatment and wrapped up since there isn't much you can do for tail injuries. We we're a little apprehensive about the K Lazer treatment because it was a bit extra but felt as though we could trust them to give the best treatment plan because at first we we're shocked that he may have to be amputated. We didn't feel pressured or that it was just a sale pitch. Our before picture didn't look too bad but that was before they shaved it and it wasn't broken skin but quite swollen. Wanted to give a special thank you to Moore vet for helping Petey with his recovery with the K Lazer treatment. It helped speed up the healing process, he has had three total done. Between the first picture and the last picture is 3 weeks. Karen seems to believe Petey's tail is going to be just fine with normal movement. read more

When it comes to health care, I want someone knowledgeable and caring. When it comes to vet care for my animals, I want someone even better than that. In my experience, Dr. Moore is all that I could ask for. I live in the OC, but my mom has been going to Dr. Moore for years. She raves about her. Recently, while on a long vacation, my mom dog-sat my two dogs. One is younger, but one is a senior with Addison's disease. When my dog had an Addisonian attack and I was gone, my mom quickly took her to Dr. Moore who knew just what do to. My dog was quickly stabilized and I returned to a dog who was on the upswing. Even after my dogs and I went back to home in the OC, Dr. Moore gave us a follow-up call to be sure that all is well and that my dog was back to normal. A few years ago, our family cat passed away due to old age after a good, long life. Dr. Moore was kind enough to help us say goodbye to her. Then, Dr. Moore took the ashes and scattered them over the ocean, where I know that our family cat has gone back to the earth and sea. Finally, she donated to the U.C. Davis Companion Animal Fund in our cat's name. Obviously Dr. Moore cares about the pets. We are happy with the service that Dr. Moore provides. Our animals are happy with the care. read more

I took my rabbit here and had an ok experience; returned because she did not heal and was even less impressed the second time around. I was asked to pay over $400 to drain an abscess on my rabbit's head - this $400 only covered the cost of a local anestheic, the draining of the abscess, an anti-inflammatory and a few obscene charges (like $20 to cover the cleaning of the towel in the crate she would be placed in while the exam table was cleaned -- uhm, can't I just hold her until you need her and save $20? I only make $130 a week, $20 is a lot of money to me. . . Nope.) Not to mention the fact that because rabbits are apparently "exotic" animals the fee just to weigh her and give her a once over is $50. The vet I go to now charges $29 for the same basic visit. Despite the fact the swelling was causing her serious eye problems (she is now blind and we have scheduled a surgery to have her eye removed by a different vet) this clinic would NOT let me write a post-dated check or work with me in any way on the cost or payment for the procedure. They sent me out the door in tears and told me to call if I raised the funds for the cheaper procedure: to have her put to sleep. Luckily I called the Humane Society who referred me to a different clinic (see my other reviews to find out where I went). What world of difference!! Not only did this other vet see me the same day, they offered suggestions on where to find money to help cover the cost of the procedure and for less than $400 their procedure included putting her to sleep during the surgery. A world of difference. I wish I had gone to this other vet first; I would have saved a lot of money and my rabbit would have vision in both of her eyes. If you have a rabbit DO *NOT* go to this vet! She is unknowledgeable about rabbits and does not handle them with the kind of care and love and concern that my current vet - who is amazing! - does. read more

We came for a second opinion after test results at another vet had not given us clear answers to address his health issues. Dr. Moore took the time to tell me about foxtails and other possible hazards that I wouldn't have known about. She cared for him for many years. When he became ill, she tirelessly answered all my questions. When it was time to say good bye to my beloved Cody, her staff could not have been more caring, understanding, calming and sympathetic. I still have an adorable Springer Spaniel who sees Dr. Moore as needed. I am amazed at the depth of her knowledge regarding all aspects of care formy dogs. Dr. Moore was concerned and he needed to stay at the clinic under sedation to have his ears cleaned and all that other fun stuff. I was given a list of options of services to be performed with the prices so I would know the exact price and could fit the emergency care into my budget. Copper is all better and there is nothing quite like knowing that when you dog is sick, there is a very capable and qualified vet to care for your pet but also to help keep me calm. read more

The pets are always treated as though they were her own, and I have always received thorough explanations of the diagnosis and clear, detailed instructions for my responsibilities in the treatment plan. We've been taking our pets to Dr Moore for over 7 years and just love her and her staff! The office is a cute welcoming cottage on Main St. It's so nice to walk in and be greeted by the staff who take the time to know us and our pets personally. As a new resident of CA, I have used numerous clinics close to me in Malibu and, quite honestly, was extremely disappointed. Having had the same vet for 30 years in WA, I had a great relationship with him and the people at his clinic. As a breeder, he knew I wasn't just the everyday dog owner. I accidentally, due to my error in making an appt with a clinic that I thought was in Ventura, for one of my puppies and the clinic was unable to see her, I found Dr. Moore.
