I was looking forward to this place since booking my reservation. They do not take walk-ins. You have to book a reservation via email. The place is small and cozy. The staff is superb. The menu is small, but expected for the type of restaurant. There are options for vegetarians. If you are not a vegetarian, you may enjoy this place a little better since their meat dishes are the stars of the show. We started off with sangria. It's not the typical Sangria you think of. It's not sweet at all. I'm ok with that, but my friend wasn't too fond of it. It's is homemade. For our appetizer, we had the Mekike. It is fried bread that came with a cream cheese dip and a tomato dip. We loved this. Who doesn't love bread? For my main dish, I had the posni pilav with the sopska salad. The salad was simple and didn't have dressing, but delicious. The feta cheese added great flavor to the tomatoes and cucumber. By the time the posni pilav arrived, I was so stuffed that I could only take a few bites. I will admit that the dish doesn't look appealing, but it was pretty good. It didn't lack in flavor and it was a good portion. The meal can be pricy, but expected. Parking is on site, but shared with the other businesses.

Visited this very well reviewed place sometime back on our way to Denali Park. They are owned by Michael and Maya. Here is the summary of my review and experience there. 1) Ambiance 5/5: The ambiance is not your typical one that you would see in any other restaurant. This place is very different and you could see the thought and culture on display. Even the restrooms are well though out. It has a very rustic vibe with Serbian themes. 2) Service 5/5: The people and the owners are super nice and they really make you feel special here. Everyone is super helpful and explains everything delightfully. They have some of the most incredible stories to tell you. It was so great that I would like to thank everyone by name - Gary was our server who was very helpful. Peter helped with drink. Polina hlped with some hiking suggestions. Elizabeth was at the back of the kitchen. 3) Food 3/5: This is where I was the most disappointed. Although everything else was great, the food was not the best. I feel the food was a let down to their amazing hospitality and decor. Here is the summary of what we had: a) Pilici Pilav: It is chicken rice which tasted bland. It was like Indian Chicken Khichdi but with much less flavor. Not a fan and didnt not like the chicken in it. b) Meze Platter: This was good. I am not a fan of Pork but this was good and crispy. The Rgussian salad was ood. c) Grandmother's chocolate cake: The cake was meh with more oats than chocolate and it was peanut butter in it which I am not a fan of. d) Vegan Dessert: We were confused about the cheesecake of this vegan dessert and asked the server. They insisted on this and said this is their best seller. It was such a let down. He said we wont know it was vegan and gluten free - Oh we knew it in every bite. We ate less than 25% of it, packd it and then ultimately had to throw it away. I so wish we had not listened to him and had the cheesecake. 4) Value for Money 2/5: The service and decor are great but the soul aka the food is kinda let down plus they are pricey. So not the best. Even though the place looks like a hole in the wall place, it is costly. The good: i) The decor ii) Service iii) People Not so Good: 1) Food 2) Price 3) Vegan Dessert

We were visiting Alaska for a few days and stopped by for dinner. We didn't have a reservation but only had to wait 10 minutes for a table of four. They have a fire pit in a covered balcony for the waiting area which helped with the outside cold. The service was really amazing and the decor was cozy. We ordered the meze platter, meat stuffed pepper, sarma, Kardjordjeva schnitzel, vegan daily soup, and meat daily soup. To be honest, I dont think the Serbian taste profile meshes quite well with my own taste but I could tell the food was well-prepared. The flavors are not as complex as I typically enjoy but also I don't have anything else to compare this with. It's definitely a fun spot to try something new while in Alaska!

Dinner at Moose-Aka's is not just a meal, it's an experience. First of all, you MUST have reservations. They do not accept walk ups at all. I noticed on their website they said that reservations must be made 24-hours in advance by email. We were within the 24 hours, but I wrote them anyway. What did I have to lose? As it happens, they had a cancellation and they offered us the open table, which we accepted. The restaurant is Balkan, which is a bold choice for such a small tourist area. The interior is dark and cozy. There are only about twelve tables inside. We were greeted by the cheerful hostess. We were made to feel at home. Once we were seated, the chef came by. He told us that he insists on explaining the menu to each table. A very personal touch. My wife and I are familiar with Eastern European food, so we took in the menu quickly. We started with the meze platter, which included a sampling of four different appetizers. Everything was wonderful! We ordered pitcher of sangria to drink. It was very tasty, full of fruit, and I might add, pretty strong! For the main, my wife chose the Sarma, cabbage leaves stuffed with ground beef and seasonings. It was very good, but perhaps a touch bland. We would have liked a bit more flavor in the sauce. I chose the Kardjordjeva Schnitzel it is essentially a pork version of a cordon bleu. It was magnificent! We ordered two desserts, the Grandmother's chocolate cake, and the cheesecake crepe. The chocolate cake was not to my liking, but the crepe was one of the best desserts I've ever eaten. Denali has no right to have such an amazing restaurant! The staff is incredibly attentive and friendly. The food was amazing! My wife talked about our experience all the way back to the hotel. Definitely the best dining experience available in Denali, if not all of Alaska!

Truly a unique dining experience that I'd never expect while exploring Denali NP. From the moment we walked in, the servers are all so attentitive and polite. It felt like we were so welcomed! Each person that works here on the floor will monitor each table, whether or not they are the person assigned to that table. We never had to wave down anyone to get their attention or ask for something we needed. They all loved conversing and giving their own recommendations for the park as well, which was really nice! As for the food, we decided on getting the stuffed bell peppers and the veggie pilaf. Both were pretty filling and delicious. Although a bit pricier than your average dining spot, definitely recommend considering eating here after a day of exploring Denali!

A great little restaurant with a super ambiance and excellent Serb and eastern Euro cuisine. The sarma was authentic and delicious although a little smaller in proportion than what I grew up eating, but perfect and brought great memories. Tenderloin was also nicely done and not greasy with great flavors. Definitely get the full appetizer plate to start with a selection of the main apps. Pair with Serb beer and try both as they are similar. I was too full for dessert but I'm sure it was as good as the main courses. Recommended.

This place is a diamond in the rough at Denali. Being open for only 3-4 months of the year, they have to garner all the profits before the tourist season closes. I was definitely fortunate to able to try this place out. Never mind all the accolades that this place has received, it's all about the personal experience that matters. When you walk it, there's a very unique ancient traveler's decor that lines the walls and ceiling. It creates an exotic atmosphere that is pretty inviting and adds to the eating experience. The servers are extremely friendly and nice. They display a nice personal touch and can start and carry such a natural conversation that makes you feel extremely welcomed. Now onto the food. I had the Karadjordjeva Schnitzel which is fried pork sirloin stuffed with cheese and ham. It was delicious! The pork was flavorful and I absolutely loved the garlic mashed potatoes that it came with. Also the asparagus gave it a nice contrast with the heaviness of the potatoes and schnitzel. The sauce that came with it kept the schnitzel from becoming bland, which was a nice touch. But the Nutella and Banana Crepe w/vanilla ice cream... yeah... Fire! It's so good. The crispness of the crepe combine with the flavors of banana and Nutella. Joygasm! Definitely something to try! If you get the opportunity, definitely seek this place out. Find out for yourself why others have enjoyed this place as much as I have!

Highly recommend this place for anyone traveling to or staying at Denali. Service and ambiance were phenomenal here. Staff was really friendly in helping us with our food selections and our stay at Denali by providing hidden gems around the area. Don't miss this restaurant if you're in the area!

This was the best meal I had the entire trip. The restaurant is extremely out of place for nowhere Alaska but the service and food would put this city on the map. The ambiance makes you feel like you are in Europe with the decor and music. The food was delish and the sangria was good. Highly recommended visiting!

I went in with high expectations, and this place came through. The service was some of the best I've experienced in a long, long time. The food was EXCELLENT! We shared 2 appetizers and one entree. And we couldn't finish it all. Normally, we'd have taken leftovers home, but we were in a hotel with no microwave, so.... Yep, we hurt ourselves a bit. They not only didn't charge us for splitting the entree, but were kind enough to split it for us. Sat out in the front room with a small fire burning. Very cozy! Just everything about this place was top notch.

Very friendly team of servers with excellent hospitality attitude, and excellent food. It's hard to know what to say when it's all so good. I wasn't sure what sangria I might like, so they gave me a sample of both and I found the red to be sweet and the white to be more savory, so I opted for the savory. Decided to share the meze platter and the Sarma entree as both are too much portion for one but plenty to share and got a great sampling of Serbian flavors, dips, and seasonings. I'd never had cabbage that was so tender it acted like a noodle, but that's what the Sarma felt and tasted like- a meat and rice dumpling! Excellent flavors on everything and loved the chef's special dip and red pepper spread. Try to get in before 6pm, or you may have to wait until after 7:30pm, as they don't take reservations and can only accommodate tables based on what's available.

This place has the rating and volume of reviews it does for a reason. We had a great experience and it was wonderful to find something other than a brewery, pizza, or burger place in Alaska. We started with the Serbian Fry bread, I forget its name, but it was delicious and I loved the sour cream & red pepper sauce with it. We also had an appetizer of the Olivier salad and it was great. We finished with the moussaka and loved it, and the special dessert was like a custard with cinnamon and fruit that was well worth it. Great service, cute ambiance, definitely a must by Denali.

Food is very OK but the service is excellent. My stuffed peppers were undercooked. The mashed potatoes were literally that - a mashed potato. read more
Great stop if you're in or around Denali National Park. We didn't know what to expect when we first stopped here because we weren't sure what Eastern European food entailed, so we were a bit surprised that they specialize in crepes. The Serbian-style crepes somewhat resemble a burrito and aren't at all like French-style crepes. I had the veggie crepe, which was delicious and surprisingly filling. The spices, crispiness, and sauce were on point. They do also serve the more familiar French-style crepes for brunch. My friend ordered one and really enjoyed it! The service was fantastic. Our waitress was really friendly and told us about some of her favorite hikes in and around the park. We also asked some questions about the beer selection, and she was knowledgeable and gave us solid recommendations. Maybe it's in part because it was the beginning of summer, but everyone, including the owner (I think) who was talking to people at another table, seemed really nice! They have both indoor and covered outdoor seating. Parking was relatively plentiful, and there are plenty of little shops to check out before/after if you're so inclined. The restaurant can be easy to miss when you're on the road, but once you've pulled off into the parking lot area, it's not too difficult to find between other restaurants/stores. I would come back! read more

If you are at Denali and you don't stop here it's your loss. The food is mostly likely the best in Denali. Service is superb and the decor of spoons and pictures from Serbia is amazing. Yelp won't allow my 10 star rating. Thanks to Chef Michael for sharing your wonderful creations with us. read more

Our friend Valerie Bowser found out Moose-AKa's was open and strongly encouraged us to make this our last dinner in Healy. This was the best dining experience of our entire Alaska trip! The food was unbelievably delicious. Every single bite was a complete sensory experience. Zac and Caroline took exceptional care of us. It felt like we were part of their family. Thank you! We will be back! There are only deserts because we were so excited to taste our food! read more

Wanted something different when vacationing in Denali. Decided to try Moose AKA's and SO GLAD we did. Two of us shared the appetizer sampler, cabbage rolls and Grandmother's chocolate cake. We liked them all! Our server Gary explained the menu very well. Service was good all around. Water glasses refilled promptly. Everyone had a smile. Rare these days. I highly recommend you give Moose AKA's a try. read more

The service here was truly exceptional; everyone wanted to help us. We couldn't eat a dinner, so we just ordered a mezze platter and a salad, and everything was great. We'd love to go back, and maybe we will some day, but we live thousands of miles away. read more

Good food that matched its great service & hospitality! We ordered a the Turkish coffee for a wrap-up to our meal and it was AMAZING! Okay so this might sound bad, but the majority of the food we had in our vacation in Alaska was a bit bland. This place actually uses salt & seasonings, thankfully and does it well! This was our first try of Serbian food and we were a bit hesitant but we were glad we took the risk! The palette wasn't too unfamiliar and it came across as good home cooking. The ambience was pretty chill. They were family-friendly and very hospitable. read more

Perhaps the most unique and unexpected experience of any restaurant we have ever visited. What I liked... - incredible service that was knowledgeable, attentive, and friendly - owner engagement, in the kitchen and in the dining room - beautifully decorated, in the dining room and even the bathroom! - food was quick, and unbelievably delicious What I would consider changing.... - the process to try to get information via phone or online, or to discuss reservations vs calling ahead is awkward and harder than it needs to be Bottom line, this place lives up to the hype. Figure out a way to make it part of your trip. read more

Hidden gem in denali national park. Very close to mckinley and grande denali lodges z Make a reservation- email them using their website and they will confirm your reservation. Super easy to do and guarantees you dont have to wait. Great options for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. Fantastic quality food in the middle of a national park. We ordered all of this for two people and were stuffed. Sangria to share - really good Appetizer sampler - excellent and must do Veggie crepe( savory flash fried) - really good option for vegetarians Beef, bacon , potato soup( comes with the pan fried bread for dipping) Special dessert to share- must have. The service is above and beyond. These folks are so hardworking, check on you often and you are never left waiting for food/ service/ water refills. Even the chef came out to check on tables. A must visit for your denali vacation. read more

Fantastic food and top notch service! We've never had Serbian food before, so glad we decided to stop by. We didn't make reservations but got lucky and were seated right away but were told that that rarely happened, so do make reservations if you plan on coming here, which you should! The interior is really cute and cozy and makes you feel welcome. We got the house sangria and the Turkish coffee to start our meal. Absolutely loved the coffee, it came with a sweet walnut treat to balance the bitterness in the coffee and was a delightful accompaniment. Sangria was tasty as well. For entree, we ordered the chicken crepe and stuffed peppers, both so flavorful and spiced perfectly. The peppers is vegan but the staff brought us a side of mashed potatoes and a creamy sauce after confirming that I was vegetarian and ok with dairy and they complemented the rice so well. The sweet banana crepe looked so good but we were stuffed so decided to skip that but there's always a next time for that. Must visit if you are in Denali ! read more
Pay no attention to any rating on this restaurant below 5! This is an Alaskan GEM! It's tucked away in Denali and it's wonderful! We started with the Meza Platter of Heaven. It's all delicious and the 3 condiments are great too. I had Sarma - cabbage rolls they have a great stuffing. It's a recommend! No SO had the Moussaka- layered mouth-watering beef, bacon and spices. My SO sister had the Meat stuffed red pepper. Another slap right out of the park of wonderful creative food. In a nutshell, try it, you'll like it. What a great restaurant! read more
I'm disappointed in myself for not finding this place sooner! Who knew you could get Serbian food in Alaska? Even more so, in Denali? I don't quite know what Serbian food is, even after eating here, but I can tell you this: it is damn good. Lots of stuff revolves around crepes, but even if you ain't into crepes, I guarantee you can find something tasty here. The service is attentive and friendly, probably the best I've had in Alaska. The ambiance is romantic and cozy. Now I'm sad they won't be open all winter :( read more
Serbian food in Denali? Moussaka at Moose-aka's? Came here for a last dinner at "grizzly gulch", Alaska. Dirt parking lot full of mud and muddy puddles on a perfectly clear day at Denali National Park. Welcomed with open arms by the hostess, asking where we were from, and how long we would stay -kind of like meeting an old friend again. All tables outside filled, and took the last four chair table, with penis, I mean pennies glued to the table! Ceiling with upside down umbrellas and red rugs tacked to the ceiling. Must be quite a task dusting those things near the ceiling! Ordered the $17 Moussaka, the $6 chicken rice soup, and the wife ordered the $22 Vienna Schnitzel. Service is leisurely, at least 20 minutes. The chicken rice soup seems to contain no rice and no chicken. Wife takes a first sip, and immediately passes on more -way too salty! I gulp it down like it is my last meal, with shreds of meat and rice on the very bottom. The moussaka is 90% layered baked potato with 5% egg on the top. Last 5% is bacon, onion, ground beef, when I was expecting 1/3 potato, 1/3 beef, and 1/3 bacon onion and egg. Taste good, but where's the beef? I was expecting something layed and baked like lasagna. The schnitzel is pork tenderloin pounded thin, lightly battered, breaded and fried. Served with garlic buttered mashed potatoes and asparagus. The schnitzel is different from the Jager schnitzel that comes covered with a mushroom gravy. They have a beef broth for dipping the schnitzel, but it lacks the flavor of the mushroom gravy. We had the $6 Serbian style special cotton style cheesecake, with strawberries, bananas in a whipped cream with caramel. The fruit was fresh, but rest of the dish tasted like a bowl of whipped cream. Could not taste the cheesecake. Not enough fruit, although the presentation was excellent. Asking for the bill, I was told everything was on the house for the rest of the night, as long as I was willing to do dishes, so laughed the waitress! read more

What a wonderful restaurant. Be sure to make a reservation or you might not get a table when you want it. The ambience is something that will take you to a different place. The service is great and the hostess is gracious. The food is amazing! I had the Turkish coffee which was served in a very traditional style. The meal size is pretty decent - if you're in a group, you might want to consider sharing so that you can sample more goodness! You won't go wrong with anything you order on the menu. We visited this restaurant before our backpacking trip in Denali, and I can't express how awesome this place is! We had never tried any food like this before so we just decided to go in and see. They were very busy but were able to seat us in 15 minutes, and surprisingly they only had *one* server working and one cook. I've been to many places where the service was so slow and they had 5+ people working. This was the opposite! The environment in there was excellent; with the music, decor, and cleanliness being top notch. This is the place for everyone, wether you're on a romantic date or just out with friends. It's family friendly too! Now, onto the food! The "sarma" is different from anything I've ever had, but it was surprisingly great! I recommend this if you want to try something new. Their signature dish "moussaka" is the best entree here, if you can get a slice! It takes *hours* to cook and it runs out fast so get there early if you want some. Ok, next, the crepes! They have French and Eastern European style, and though the eastern style is not your typical crepe.. it's wonderful! The meat and calzone ones are good for a main dish, while the cheesecake and apple ones are better for dessert! (Also the Turkish coffee is a big must try) I can't stress enough how kind and attentive the servers are here. You never have to ask for a refill, they are already on it! They even offered to send some of my hot tea home with me in a to-go cup! If I could rate a 6/5, I would. Go here if you're in Denali, you won't be disappointed! (We came back 3 times during our stay ) read more
I've never had Siberian cuisine and this place is wonderful! I love the decorations in the restaurant as it made you feel like you were traveling in a different country. They provide community service as all the staff will check on you periodically, instead of one waiter. I ordered their meze platter, which is their appetizer sampler platter with Mekice, Schnitzel Fingers, Crepadilla, and Russian Salad, which we replaced with regular salad. For entree, I got Pilici Pilav. We also ordered their beef soup for the day. I have to say I'm not a huge fan of the soup as I'm not used to the puree texture but still savory and delicious. I love their fry bread with the red pepper spread and sour cream combo. The schnitzel fingers were wonderful as they taste like chicken tenders but with pork and no gamy at all. The Pilici Pilav was amazing as the vegetables were well blended with the rice and the chicken breast was grilled perfectly as well as chopped to bite size so easy to eat. Highly recommend coming to this restaurant if you're visiting Denali National Park! read more

We were not expecting Serbian fare when coming to Denali, but Moose-AKa's did NOT disappoint! The service - on top of their game! Waters were filled, imported drinks explained beautifully, and authentic dishes described accurately and to the fullest extent. The food - excellent! We started with the meze platter so that we could sample many flavors. The olivier salad was fabulous and a great lightness when pair with the schnitzel fingers. For entrees - I had the moussaka - delightful! Full of flavor with a great texture. My husband had the Sarma (stuffed cabbage) and thoroughly enjoyed the meat mixture. Our dining companion had the Kardjordjeva Schnitzel - YUM! I was lucky to get to try a taste! All of this was paired with Serbian wines and beers which made for a perfectly completed meal. Very minimal wait times and great atmosphere. I highly recommend. read more

A must stop in Denali!!! This restaurant was delicious at every course. It's cuisine was simultaneously new and exciting to us (we'd never eaten Serbian food before) but also familiar and comforting-- the moussaka is exactly the hearty and comforting meal you want after a day of adventure. The wait staff was extremely attentive and friendly - taking time to explain the menu items and make recommendations for unfamiliar dishes. And though we aren't vegan/vegetarian, it seemed like they were very friendly and accommodating with their menu. We ordered the Mezze platter (delicious!), moussaka, sangria and grandmother's chocolate cake and would recommend all of them! read more

Wow! This place was excellent, and so different than so many places up here - all in a good way. The only big comment is that almost all the entries are heavy meat dishes, as well as hearty amounts. However we did not try the one vegetable option, so it probably is also good. We started with a very fresh salad very like a Greek salad, full of fresh cucumbers and tomatoes with feta cheese. It was plenty enough for us to share one salad. I had the stuffed red pepper, full of ground beef, with savory spices (not spicy, just flavorful). That was drizzled with another orange sauce, tasty, but I don't know what was in it. My wife had a chicken dish was also delicious, and enough to save more for tomorrow. I tried their local wine, and they were helpful with recommendations, and mine were spot on, and perfect. We did not try their deserts, though we saw their chocolate cake with very interesting ingredients, but it looked enough for 4 people. The service was excellent. They were attentive all the way. My only complaint would be the noise level. I am hard of hearing, and the restaurant was full even early in the evening, and it is noisy. I would be very happy to return should we return to the Denali area. I loved this restaurant! read more

Moose-AKa's was our favorite meal while in Denali! Be sure to call at least a day in advance for a reservation. When we arrived at 7:45 pm, we were promptly seated and greeted by the hostess and also by our server, Zac. You would have never known that they are understaffed. Zac was an amazing, passionate, and energetic server. He always made sure our drinks were full and we were enjoying our food. He even took the time to ask where we were visiting from and also shared a little bit about his background. We really enjoyed talking with him. The atmosphere of the restaurant exudes culture and style. They were also playing great music (Gipsy Kings)! For dinner, I really enjoyed the moussaka. It was hearty and tasty. I would recommend the red sangria - (The white sangria was much to sweet for my taste). We split a banana Nutella crepe for dessert - the perfect end to an excellent meal. Be sure to check out Moose-AKa's and don't forget to call for a reservation! read more

Beautiful atmosphere where you feel like you've just been transported to Europe. Some dishes were great, others were average. The stuffed cabbage and chicken pilaf were disappointing. This was my first time trying Serbian food and I'm so glad the concierge at our hotel recommended this place! If I had to pick the "best restaurant in Alaska" this would be it. We dined there on July 3, 2021. Even though that was almost 2 years ago, I'm going back and writing about it because it was that good ... really, that good. Make sure to have a reservation well in advance. We almost didn't get to dine there! read more

Meet the Business Owner: Michael W.
I came to Alaska in 2010 to work as a seasonal employee, and Maja came in 2011 on a work and travel visa as a student from Serbia. I worked my way around the state for a few years, while she continued to come and work in Denali for various companies in the summer then returning to Serbia to further her education. I open Food Truck Moose-AKa's in Healy 2015 and the restaurant 2017.

Wow. Completely blown away! First when you walk in... Take a minute to let your eyes adjust from the midnight sun.... You then choose your seat, at the beautifully crafted bar, where you can view the kitchen through the pass window, one of the unique penny top tables, a large comfortable booth where you are below a lovely hand crafted spoon chandelier, or even outside on the porch. Then. The menu. Which rotates through out the day. I had the moussaka accompanied with a side shopska salad. a light snack, late lunch Very friendly and welcoming place and my belly is very satisfied! Not to mention the name. . . . Moose-aka. We will be back! Come check it out!! read more

I've been coming to Denali National Park for 25 years. There's now another reason to visit the park; Moose AKa's! It's hands-down the best food I've ever had near the park--maybe the best food anywhere-EVER! Beautiful atmosphere. Very cozy and clean. Everything is fresh, organic and made-to-order. There should be a line out the door and down the block! Seriously good. Excellent service. They have had over 35 5 Yelp reviews but they were deleted because Yelp wants $$$$s! All this--culinary artistry, superb service and a beautiful eclectic atmosphere for very little $s. Please support great eateries! 5s aren't enough read more

********A MUST SEE******** After a nice game of Golf on the tundra we decided to go further and explore the Denali Board Mall... After we reserved our seats for a white water rafting in the Nenana River we found this AMAZING Serbian restaurant. The FOOD was amazing, Staff and the Chef were very accommodating while we enjoyed our three1/2 hour stay listening to music, enjoying conversation with new friends and OH let's NOT forget the SANGRIA that kept on coming~~~ Mama, Ali and Chef Mike, WE WILL SEE YOU SOON AGAIN, THANK YOU FOR AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE! read more

I've been eating at Moose-Aka's since it's beginning as a food truck in Healy. Since then the location and venue have changed but the food is as phenomenal as ever. They have a sophisticated dining room that they built themselves, the staff are all locals with plentiful information about the area and it's history, and they serve lunch and dinner with traditional Turkish coffee poured all day long! They serve fried meat crepes, sweet crepes, soup & salads, as well as traditional Serbian delicacies. A must stop on your stay in Denali! read more

First when we went to the restaurant there wasn't enough space inside and it was shivering cold outside (1°C), so the waitress told us we can go to a patio with a small fire pit and have us a menu to look at the food while we were waiting for a table. When we finally got a table we all knew what to get. I forgot what I got, but my meal was a crêpe filled with Mozzarella cheese, Pepperoni, Tomato sauce, with some sauce on the side. My brother got a Fried Meat Crêpe. The dessert was absolutely amazing! read more

My hiking buddy and I came here for dinner after a long hike, and HOLY MOLY. Quite possibly the best food in Alaska, and it's right outside the park. Bring your appetite. The whole place has a very familial feel, the service is great, the portions are generous, and each dish was a 10/10. We went back the next morning for breakfast to fuel up for a long bike ride, the then went back again that night. It's that good. I intend to return to Denali, and honestly Moose-aka's is a big reason why. read more

Moose-AKa's is a true hidden gem in Denali! Run by a wonderful wife-and-husband team, this Serbian restaurant blends artistic flair with incredible food. The wife's artistic vision is reflected in every detail of the decor, creating a warm, rustic, and inviting atmosphere. The husband, as chef, serves up delicious Serbian and Eastern European dishes for both vegan and non-vegan guests. And the cocktails? Just as impressive as the meals. A must-visit dining experience! read more

Absolutely awesome! Got here with my friends during the 3rd day of their soft opening and its great! We had almost everything on the menu between the 6 of us but we are all super satisfied. The service was some of the best I've had in my life. Very friendly and very informative. Got to learn about the food and roots of where the food comes from. Would whole heartedly recommend to everyone going through Denali to stop by. Can't put into words how great this place is. read more

This was our favorite restaurant that we ate at during our trip to Alaska. My boyfriend who is well traveled said it was one of his top 3 favorite meals of all time. We were in the area for 3 nights and ate their two. The third they were closed so we got a crepe to go and reheated it that day. We loved everything: the food of course, the staff, and the atmosphere. You really can't go wrong here unless you decide not to go. read more

There a few times in life when a meal is perfectly crafted. This is by far the best meal I've had while vacationing in Alaska. We had the Fried Calzone Crepe and Strawberry Cheesecake Crepe. I wanted to order everything. The owner's are friendly and full of life! I would eat here everyday if I could! read more
