Wow incredible food, views and service, Although pricey. Started with the seafood corn chowder which was good. But the best was my main entree which was their fresh Alaskan halibut. Oh my

Went up here curious about the view... just in time for their restaurant to open. Me & hubby decided to have our dinner here. Love their chowder but the rest is okay. Service is quick & staff are friendly.

If not for the tasty salad this review would be 2 stars. We had the fish n chips. The chips were good but the fish was very dry and overdone. Our server was sweet but we had to wait for water. The Christmas theme is odd because it's not done well. Very cheesy and sparse decor. For the very high prices it isn't worth the money but unfortunately we are stuck at the Grande Lodge with no way to leave or we would certainly do that!!

Not many choices for food in this tourist town but this limited menu at the hotel helped us survive our first night. Seasonal staff has plenty of life stories to share to enhance your vacation. Bar service was quick and the drinks were tasty. Great views of the mountains!

Excellent food for a national park vendor. Special shoutout to Fabian's the fabulous mixologist who made a PB&J martini that was OUTSTANDING!!!! A must try if you like whisky. The seafood croquettes were an appetizer that I used as an entree which was satisfying. The seafood chowder was delicious and hit the spot. The fifth star is especially for the Fabulous Fabiana mixologist.

Everything about this place is pretty average. First of all the waiters are running around and it took us about 10 minutes to get a menu (we sat ourselves at a table). I would recommend skipping the mango-sage-ade mocktail. It doesn't taste as good and I wasn't able to finish it. Definitely wasn't worth the $10. My dad enjoyed his amber beer ($9). The menu is super limited with only one vegetarian option. The pesto pasta was pretty good and for $29 it was a decent portion. The chicken was however $33 and just had 2 grilled tenders on a bed of mashed potatoes with a few asparagus spears. We didn't have any waiters come by and check on us while we were eating or anytime during the duration of our meal. We had to go up to the bar to order and to get our check, because a waiter never came to us after waiting for so long. The restaurant area is a nice cozy spot though with games for people who want to play, eat and drink. It was definitely a one time thing coming here and I'm sure there are other options in the Denali area.

My husband and I dined in for dinner last night and had Shengyu as our server. He provided perfect service and was super friendly and knowledgeable. We were even talking today how wonderful he was. We started off with the house salad with balsamic vinaigrette and I had a cup of soup of the day which was a vegetable red bean barley. I enjoyed both. We ordered the prawn appetizer which my husband kept all to himself since I don't do much seafood. He said it was okay but not his favorite and he would try something else next time. For entrees, I had the filet mignon which came with asparagus and au gratin potatoes. I cleared my plated. I really enjoyed my dinner. Same goes my husband had the seafood pasta which he really liked. The portions aren't huge considering the price but I also didn't expect much to be cheap in Alaska. For dessert we had the huckleberry icecream. It was delicious!!! My husband had two beers during dinner (hazy pale ale and then a corona) and I had one glass of house wine sauvignon blanc. After dinner we went to the bar area to have a couple drinks and mingle with other guests. We had a blast! The bartenders, Alejando and Fabiana, were SO FUN. They are in town working for the season and were so nice to interact with and they made delicious drinks. They definitely built great relationships with the guests since many of them knew each other by name. We will definitely be back later tonight for some more fun and drinks.

We ate here the past two nights . We like to sit at the bar . Kayleigh was our server. She definitely knew the menu and accommodated our requests. Bruce had salmon the first night. It was fantastic! He had haddock the 2nd night . He asked for it blackened and they accommodated his request . The haddock was the best ! I had the cauliflower steak the first night . So nice to find a tasty vegetarian and entree ! The 2 nd night I had the pasta dish . Quite a lot of pasta and very few vegetables. The flavor was great, but too much oil for my palate . We are here during the Riley fire , and a lot of restaurants have only a limited menu . The ambiance of the Aspen is amazing !

I generally don't write negative reviews. I rarely want to dwell on bad experiences. I will make an exception. For this place. It's so bad that I feel it necessary to warn people. I ordered the king salmon/. It was $52. See the picture. This salmon was worse than the fish I get in Tucson...and it was badly overcooked and dried out. It is obvious that they keep these in a steam tray. Four pieces of asparagus. $52. Undercooked potatoes that were borderline cold. $52. The view is the reason this place gets an extra star. Avoid it. It is insanely overpriced with terrible food.

Amazing restaurant. Both my husband's and my meals were delicious! I got the halibut and my husband had the chowder and a salad.

My first impression upon checking in at the hostess station and looking into the seating area, was that it might not be as good an experience as I'd hoped. I was wrong. They were jammed. We got seated at one of three 2-tops next to the open kitchen. Normally I enjoy being able to watch food being prepared but I thought it was going to be too loud and busy. Well, it was loud but tolerable and it was a very busy space but I really enjoyed watching the grill-man, the other prep folks as well as the 2 People doing the finishing touches, garnishes and delivering the food. Our server was Regan. What a pleasure she was. Really delightful, helpful and attentive. We ordered cocktails and an appetizer and slowly enjoyed both. Later, we ordered a single meal to share. We loved it! Here's what we had: Drinks: Cosmo cocktail Lavender Gin cocktail Blackberry Smash cocktail All the drinks were well crafted and very tasty. Appetizer: Halibut Bites Really nice appetizer. Salad: Wedge with Blue Cheese dressing The salad was large enough to share and we asked for some extra dressing. Really good. Side: Marscapone Potato Gratin These were really special. Love it. Main: Prime Beef Filet with Lobster Herb Butter Oh my word, super tender and flavorful. If we find ourselves back in the area, we'd eat here again!

One of the characters described was partially responsible for creating Denali national park. The problem I had with the show itself was that there was NO INDIGENOUS REPRESENTATION at all. Since coming to Alaska we have been learning constantly about the horrible atrocities committed to the native population in the name of white greed and Christian nationalism. We have also learned that these issues are pretty prevalent in Alaska today also, so I found it very offensive that they presented a white washed show like that. The food was what you would expect flavor-wise for a dinner theater but what made me really put off was that we had a global pandemic less than a decade ago and it's like this company learned nothing from it. You are expected to pass your plate to the 11 other people sitting at your table so they can put the food on your plate for you. We spent a week in a petri dish (cruise ship) before this land tour and I would say 10-25 percent of the people are obviously ill, I don't want anyone but a trained chef with experience in food safety to touch my food thank you. Overall I would recommend avoiding this dinner theater and donating the cost of it to native Alaskan charities or cultural groups. To the cast and crew, "please please please show some scruples and don't avoid the real story of Alaska's gold rush. And THATS the truth!"
