Kind of exciting driving up and seeing a couple old campers set up like it was part of a theme park. Getting toward the office the road splits into a nice paved 3 lane rd. Excellent if there a few people checking in. The office is well presented, and an arcade next to it is a pristine 200 yr old barn. The roads were well maintained as it turned to dirt and gravel. No rain made potholes a very nice drive. The sites as we drove by were awesome. This place has great large deep private sites, angled very well for easy docking. The site we had 210 was a damn good site. Not far walking distance from office pool and other amenities. Trees were nice and solid and it was large enough for us to do extra. The fire pits were awesome, all large stones with others built up.. excellent on that one moosehillock. Everyone walking by had great attitudes, excellent vibes. Well except that one dude looked at me walking by jealous of my blackstone. Cons to get through quick cause we didn't have much. At $12 a bundle for wood, little steep usually paying $4-6 at other campgrounds. BUT!!!!! you can bring your NH born wood from wherever so that's a plus. No cell service but wifi if you are down around the office. By the way I met a camp worker David who was very professional and helped with every question and matter we had. 100 acres, over 500 sites to stay at rv cabins tents. This is a great place. We plan to go back next summer in season to check out the pool and other accommodations. Recommended for now. Update next season.

This was the only place left with availability for the holiday weekend, I booked there on site camper for two nights. It was a bit expensive for a camper in the area it was in but I decided to bite the bullet because they offered Wi-Fi and the town of Warren has ZERO cell service no matter who the provider. The WiFi in itself was spotty at best, I didn't expect service like at my home but even a McDonald's has a stronger connection. The camper itself started off at $185 a night, a bit pricy but it is a new model so we went with it. The whole purpose of our trip was to rider four wheelers and the park charges $10 per machine for the office to register them(still can't figure out what that entailed for the fee) then $10 per night, per machine to park them OUTSIDE the park, so basically after riding you're walking a football field or two length back to your site. It was really a pain loading them up the first trip when we had to make numerous trips getting all of our gear! On top of those charges it was also another $25 per trailer per night and they only had spots for 6. We had two trailers and had to park one on the other side of town. It seemed as if there was plenty of areas around to accommodate us parking it. As an afterthought someone older or someone that has issues walking would not make it from their machines to their site! The camper itself was okay, we were told it had two bathrooms, this was not true. Then last minute found out that no linens are included, which is kind of an inconvenience especially for the amount charged, and the fact that I was subjected to a $35 room tax, yet they said they don't have to have them because they aren't a hotel? Needless to say we packed up all the pillows and sheets and planned to make the best of it. Warren is known to have one restaurant that closes early, or runs out of alot of food or is packed. So I planned on grilling food since we were told there was plates and cutlery and other kitchen items. Um there was no grill, I would think they would rather provide one and not have people cooking inside. I have a new trailer the same age and have never cooked anything inside. The unit was clean when we got there but The ac was off when we arrived and turning it on there was the smell of dust everywhere I opened up the filter and it was filthy, also the unit itself probably not totally level because the middle felt soft walking and it was noisy and the screen door would not latch, that's usually an indicator that it's not level. Only other observation I mad is that the bunk bed in the back looks like a death trap. It's set up in a fashion with very little support. The gourmet themselves were very clean,. Well maintained, and lots for the little ones to do. Including a pool, splash pad and a pretty cool play ground set up. if my daughter was hound enough I bet she would've had a blast there! Last thing would be the bath house, something that's always hard to comment on because no matter what they can be criticized. But they seemed clean and up kept. They have showers that are 5 minutes for a quarter. The shower really never got to an acceptable temp when it's 50 degrees out and no heat inside the place and the windows and doors propped open. I also noticed it had a dropped ceiling that was king of nasty and out of place. Only other comment on the bathroom is the the toilets are not a.d.a. Compliant and may be very hard for older people to get up from. All in all it was a decent campground, if I had brought my own trailer I'm sure I would've had zero complaints, but they more you pay the more you expect. My main issue would be the aspects of charges for four wheelers and the placement of them. The sites that you rent for your trailer do not even have enough room for your machines next to it. If the place was full you would probably be expected to put them back on the trailers!

But this led to being asked to leave the campground. This is not a family friendly place. Even staff have said the new owners are a lot more strict and don't let people enjoy the camping experience people are used to doing with their friends and family. I wish I didn't even have to give this place any stars as they are NOT deserving of it.

The camp store is packed with food and camping essentials. We grabbed a campground map, and luckily a local map, which came in handy as the service in the area is pretty spotty! Not a problem for our group as we were looking to disconnect for the weekend, but definitely something to keep in mind. The camp wifi worked well up near the main areas, but could be a little spotty down by our site; no biggie though. We stayed at site R1 along the river, without hookups. These spots were gorgeous! The white noise of the river while sleeping was so relaxing. Our spot had some good distance from our neighbors, although it appeared some of the other "R" sites are a little close together (great for groups/families!). The area was flat with plenty of room to set up a large 8 person tent, and still have room for the picnic table, fire ring and chairs, and even more tents if needed. Our first day we had some severe weather warnings and quite a bit of rain. The staff was wonderful with driving by and checking on us, as they warned us the river can rise with severe rain. Luckily we didn't have any problems with the river getting too close to our tent. The campground has events throughout the summer that are definitely worth checking out. We were lucky enough to grab some pizzas from the food truck that came to visit! We will definitely be returning here, and recommending this place to friends and family!

OK there are a few spots for groups and you could probably get an RV and trailer up there, but I have yet to see it. The campsites here all have the basics for tent camping: picnic table, fire pit/grill, peace and quiet. Most of the sites are spaced far apart so that you don't turn your head and make eye contact with a neighbor. Some of them are almost completely isolated, and a few have lean-tos (you're near the Appalachian Trail after all). The fire pits are kind of annoying though, they're basically three-sided iron boxes with sliding grates on top. You'll stay warm and can easily cook on them, but not everyone is going to have a great view of the fire. There is garbage on site, pit toilets, potable water, and lots of hiking nearby. In fact, the hiking is probably one of the biggest draws. You could get a spot here and then hike to one of the other campgrounds in the national forest (those are obviously hike-in only), or just spend a few hours in the forest. We saw lots of moose droppings, but no moose. Maybe your luck will be better than mine. The river is nearby and there are several parks and access points to get to it. I saw quite a few people fly fishing last time I was here. You've got to drive to Maine to get here, and then head about 5 miles along a dirt road to cross back into NH. Stock up in nearby Gorham and bring plenty of firewood. You'll want to stay at least two nights, and you'll definitely want to come back.

Waterville Valley and Lincoln are both very close as well so there has been plenty of things for us to do and places to explore. We've made advanced reservations but also had luck with grabbing a first come first serve site by heading up on a Friday morning. But usually the campground is pretty busy so we wouldn't chance getting a first come first serve spot if we were coming in on a Saturday. First off, we have been patronizing this campground several…read moretimes a year since the new owners (John and Lisa) took it over a few years ago and made countless upgrades and additions to make this campground one of the best in NH. We stayed here for our usual (3) nights in late August 2023 at our usual (brook front) site (no I won't say the site number... its ours LOL) with my wifey and our "son" (dog). I am constantly amazed how dog friendly this place is. Most notably the welcome he receives upon check-in and the obvious love of animals from the staff. Most notable, this past trip a male employee (maintenance) I believe (sorry I don't recall your name) went above and beyond by showing our dog so much love, making it a point to stop and say hello to him in passing and even bring him his own bag of dog treats on our last night (which he devoured before we got home). The campground has (3) amazing dog (ambassadors) which make the stay even more enjoyable. First there is Lacey, a quiet yet reserved doggo with an obvious sense of class and sophistication. Then there is Tyson and energetic lab who will be your best friend if he sees you with a ball. Last but not least there is Rocky the rottweiler who has been the "framed" by some bad reviews as intimidating (LOOOL) he is an amazing, well trained, kind, asset to this campground and it is your loss if you find him to "Intimidating" to say hello to as he is passing by sitting shotgun on the chrome wheeled chariot (golfcart) that he frequently "patrols" the campground in. Most notable in some negative reviews this campground has rules! and has security! for a reason! The rules are simple (DRIVE 5 MPH!) It's common sense! You wouldn't speed through a school zone so why a campground with countless kids and animals! And yes, if you speed you may get told to "slow down" please don't take offense to this like your being personally attacked. It's the employees and owners taking a stand to ensure their guests are safe! The second rule is "Quiet ours are 10pm to 8am". If you are making excessive noise during this time, yes, you most likely will be spoken to by security. Again, don't take offense to this "outrageous" rule. This campground is surrounded by (2) beautiful brooks and the last thing that needs to be heard is excessive noise in such a great location. We can honestly say in the several years we have been coming here we have never had a noise issue. However, if you do have an issue there is a convenient phone number you can text where your issue will be addressed promptly. Everyone here is either guests or friends which shows by the extent the owners (John and Lisa) go to ensure you are having a great time. The few negative reviews I have seen are mostly because you didn't give them a chance to go the extra mile for you, or were just plain rude or entitled. We have personally seen the owners and staff go the extra mile multiple times! As far as the campground itself its situated in the heart of the white mountains close to many major attractions (Clarks Trading Post, Kancamagus Highway, Storyland, Santas Village, Flume Gorge, Polar Caves, Lost River Gorge) to name a few. This campground is wooded! Yes, there are no wide open spaces it's a wooded campground in the heart of NH and there are trees, winding roads and each site is unique. The owners made it simple to plan your visit by having posted photos of many sites online as well as provide information while booking explaining what the features are to each site and what type of equipment it can accommodate. There are rustic (primitive) sites, full hookups (water, elec, sewer) as well as gorgeous "Glamping" cabins and more rustic simple wooded cabins! The (3) restroom/bathhouses are always clean and welcoming. The onsite laundry room served us well after we were ill prepared during a NH summer downpour! During the day (especially weekends) there are activities such as games (Human bumper ball!!!) as well as "Fairy walks!" Ice cream socials, arts and crafts and our personal favorite the "dance parties!" featuring the fairy lights (see attached photos) during the evening the area around the bridge is lit up by countless laser lights which reflect off the trees to create a truly unique experience. Each time we arrive our site has been immaculate and ready for us which is another kudos to the amazing staff. After writing this review, I feel like I have not touched the surface of topics I could talk about regarding this campground. We will continue to patronize this campground and consider it "our campground" and our "home away from home!". 10.5 out of 5 stars! -Lavoie family!
