These guys are GREAT !!! After reading some of the reviews posted by women this is one woman thats not complaining. Yes we love complaining and I have my moments but after what these guys did for me I am a believer !!!! This is a straight up, honest business. Joe , the owner, stayed to 10 pm on a Friday night to repair my moped because I needed it the next day for work. I could not miss another day at work and if I was late one more time I would have been fired. It was supposed to be under warranty at another moped store but they were too busy warrantying other peoples mopeds. They even told me I had to pay for the repair and everyone else that was waiting there at the time was told the same thing. DON'T BUY A 4 STROKE !!!!!!!!!!!! This thing always breaks !!!!! I bought my moped from a competitor and I wish I would have bought one from Mopeds Direct. I was referred to them by a friend and I wanted to save money because their mopeds cost $1100.00. My friends never ever had problems with their mopeds and truly warned me about going anywhere else. So I decided to buy a 4 stroke piece of junk for $895 and ALL I have had is problems and have already spent over $400 on repairs when my moped was supposed to be under warranty in the first place. I even visited Moped's Direct because everybody told me to go there because those guys will take care of you. It isn't the prettiest place and it is small but they are crazy crazy busy and now I know why, BECAUSE THEY TAKE CARE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS !!! It is no wonder they have been in business for 20 years . They know what they are doing and are professional about what they do. I can't say they are the cleanest guys because they have grease all over them and smell like a Shell station but when you come to think of it who would you rather go to; 1. Someone dressed up all fancy trying to sell you something or 2. The owner of a business who looks like he took a bath in motor oil and has a line of people waiting to talk to him. I like that about the owner because he seems to treat everybody with respect and makes sure he talks to them. Sorry , Joe but you are a great guy, and well um very cute ;))run a great business and care about your customers. All my friends warned me not to go to any other place except MOPEDS DIRECT and they were right. For all the women who complain on this thing it has become apparent to me that you are the problem, not Mopeds Direct. I read the reviews and any bad review is written by a woman and it seems like they would even complain if they burned their own toast because they put the timer on high. Anybody who stays to 10pm on a Friday night to help somebody has got my business for life and when other people say he is a class act he truly is, his business is. Other business should use Mopeds Direct as an example of how to operate a business because it looks like a well oiled machine. I bought my moped from Mopeds Direct on May 30, 2023. To date, I've brought my moped back to them on an average of 6-8+ times a month for battery & battery charging issues. They said the batteries & harnesses from China were bad & had to reorder. It's my opinion & from personal experience that Mopeds Direct is not as honest a business as they portray to be. Mr. Joey C., the Owner knows the batteries & harnesses are bad & were from the very start when he received them from China, AND YET he sells these mopeds to unsuspecting buyers without their knowledge. He says nothing until you come & tell him of the problem. Then it's like, '...Oh yea.... the batteries, recharging & harnesses are bad.' But you already bought it. However, he repaid me via a mechanical service for a battery I had to buy from another shop weeks earlier. Their mopeds run good, it's just the electrical issues that are chronic & Joey doesn't say anything about it until... The problem never ended, although they would do something to keep me running. Thing is, taking my moped in THAT many times would kill anyone's time & patience...but I kept an optimistic demeanor regardless & I even tipped their chief mechanic close to $100 over these past 3+ mos to encourage him to do well... ...my confidence faded & I bought another moped from a reputable dealer & gave the one that Joey sold me to another shop for $100. An expensive lesson learned. Other than two other clients that I know of with the same issue, I was the only one getting the worse of this time wasting experience. I'm a 73yr old disabled Army Airborne veteran. You would think he'd have more respect & consideration than what I experienced. To my military veteran brothers especially my Paratroopers & my US Army Ranger brothers (all 3 Ranger battalions) with the 82nd, 101st, 173rd & the 11th Airborne Divisions; Buy elsewhere. I have been a customer or Mopeds Direct for over 10 years. I have purchased atleast 3 mopeds from them, had them repair all of my mopeds, rented from them; I have done it all. All I can say that this business is A+ with repairs, renting and the product they sell. Anyone that has ever visited their main store knows it is busier than a McDonalds and is purely chaotic. Joe, the owner, is a great guy who some how orchestrates this business into a smooth running machine while keeping his sanity. I do not know how he does it but he is a master of multi-tasking magically whipping up several things at once with 2 phones in his hands along with a wrench. The abuse he takes from customers would have me fuming because I have seen it first hand. I.E. A women customer yelling at him because she said she almost got killed on her moped because it died out in the middle of an intersection. Joe looked inside her gas tank and found that it was empty and her fuel gauge was on "E" and this girl was just going off on him. He took it with a grain of salt, walked over to her moped with a gas can in hand and filled her tank up. He didn't say a word, started up her moped and just walked away in silence. I doubt he even knows my name but I just want to thank him for all he has done for me over the years and how he handles situations with unruly customers. I am a woman and I am appalled at how irrational they are to him and he just shuts up and walks away shaking his head. I will never buy a moped nor get one fixed from any other store because Mopeds Direct always is fair and honest with me. I even tested them one time to see if they would charge me for a repair that I know I did not need. They told me that all I needed was to do this and that and you can save a little money. Anybody who has ever been there can attest to this because that is the way they are. No BS no con jobs. If I could give them a million stars I would, they are that good at what they do and what they sell. My dad was a mechanic and I remember working with him at his shop. I just remember that all the women were the ones who complained just to complain. I know what he went through and I know what these guys go through. Sometimes I am ashamed to be of the female gender because after reading some of these it is embarrasing to me as a women and after seeing fuirst hand how some of these customers react with the owner It is sad. Mopeds Direct has the best customer service around!!! I bought a 2009 CPI GTR 50 from Joe in July 2010 and I rode it for about a week or so and due to a faulty tire I had a blowout. I called Joe and told him of my problem and how I had no way to get my bike down there for another tire. Joe told me that he would bring me another rear tire to my house after regular business hours, free of charge and sure enough, he did. I wasn't home when he came by but my wife told me that he went above and beyond to change out the tire taking into consideration that he had back problems at the time. Yesterday I had to go to see Joe once again. This time it was for a foot peg bracket. I had parked my moped on a slight decline and wind must have blown it over, anyhow, I ended up with the footpeg laying next to the moped. I searched online to see if I could order another one to no avail. So I decided to go back to Mopeds Direct to see if Joe could point me in the right direction and after being freed from other customers he did. He had some at his shop and once again he gave me a used one free of charge, saving me around $40. The coolest part about everything is he remembered me, my wife and the moped I bought from him. I tell everyone that is interested in getting a moped to go through Joe. He takes his time to see that the moped is functioning the way it should before you drive away and takes care of any issues that may come up. These guys are great !!! I was refered to them by not one but 3 people who said do not go anywhere else but being skeptical me I went to every place else. What sold me ? The 3 people who referred me said if I went anywhere else I am just going to end up with issues with the junk thats out there. Its not like I am buying a mattress where it can't break. Soooooo, I took my friends suggestions and went ahead with my purchase. That was about a year ago and my GTX has had zero problems , zilch, nada. I went there the other day because I heard a noise after I hit a pothole so I went to Mopeds Direct and they took about 30 seconds and tightened my exhaust for free. Thats what my friends said about this place that any little thing ; blinker bulb, low air in the tire ANYTHING they just go to Mopeds Direct and they repair it on the spot and never charge you for it. They are friendly, very nice, and good hearted. My Honda didn't even run as good as the GTX. I highly recommend this place and when you go to their website and it says they sold 20,000 mopeds believe it!!!!!!! You see their mopeds all over the place. I was skeptical at first reading reviews on yelp but then I thought hmmmmm 20,000 mopeds a couple bad reviews something doesn't make sense. So I went to the filtered review section on the bottom of the page and almost all of them are 5 stars so I do not understand why they are filtered. Any way this place rocks !!! If anyone can truly write an accurate review on this site it's me. I purchased a CPI GTR 50 from Joe a few months ago. It was a used 2008 scooter. I was looking at buying this scooter right off the lot but Joe insisted that he needed to fix a few things before he would sell it to me and it only need minor repairs. It turned out that wasn't the case Joe had called me stating that the entire motor needed to be rebuilt. I'm telling you Joe maybe a very busy guy that can at times take longer then expected to fix curtain problems with your moped but trust me he is also very honest and very fair, he rebuilt the motor at no extra cost. Later I had a few issues with it afterword that angered me a bit but he also fixed it at no extra cost and in fact he took off $100 just because it took longer then expected to rebuild. In addition even after all of this I had a technical issue with the scooter that he advised me of the solution he even offered to fix it for me himself. he was right and it was simple so I did it myself. To be real with you I would do business with Joe again even though at times our problems were a little bit of a pain he is a good,honest and fair person. We have nothing but great things to day about moped direct and Joe himself. Me and my wife got to Oahu for a very late honeymoon and we wanted to explore the island by ourself. We found moped direct and got there and had a talk to Joe the owner Since we were to stay at the island fir 2 weeks we decited to buy 2 mopeds instead of renting them. Joe asked us for a few days and that he would look for some used and help us out. After a few days he got back to us and he had gotten 2 very nice mopeds, we had the smallest issue ever with one of them alittle later ( just a screw that needed to ve tightened) and he took care of that. What we think is amazing and nit something that he had to do is that he even put a add up on craigslist with our contact info to help us get ridd of the mopeds when we were leaving the island. All in all, this shop and it's owner rocks! We had the best time on this beautiful island, and much of that we have him and his shop to thank for that. We will ve back, not only to Oahu but to mopeds direct! Mopeds direct is a small shop on Kapahulu. The guys are good to talk to and they do know their stuff when it comes to the bikes. My mother bought a bike from them, and they were honest, fair, and upfront about any issues. The bike they sold us, had a problem with the oil pump since day 2, but no worries. They had one of their mechanics drive out to our house to get it running and then when we got to the shop it took only a few hours to have it fixed. The only thing I do not like about the shop is the guys are hard to reach at the Kapahulu shop. I am not sure if this is because the shop they do most of the repairs at is the University shop or what. That would be the only thing I could have fault with. I really wish they had a messaging service so they could answer later or call you back, even a twitter account would be better than no answer at all. I am an American Indian and I don't expect speedy service, like most mainlanders. Joe and the whole crew at Mopeds Direct are the best. I bought my moped used from someone else, and it had a few things that needed to be fixed. I took my moped to Joe and he was able to diagnose the problem right away. Joe is a genius , and has been around the business long enough to have seen it all, and fix it all. The whole crew he has working for him is great. Everyone there is very friendly and extremely helpful. If you are looking to buy a new moped check Moped Direct out, they have a custom moped that is totally badass, and hauls ass. If you need to get something fixed this is the place to go. Mopeds direct has the best service and prices in town. Joe and his guys treat you like family regardless of how busy they may be. Unlike other shops, when you walk in you feel chill and friendly vibes from all of the staff, you may find yourself talking story with some of them as well. When I lost all hope to possibly just let my old 2005 Vento go due to a stuck kick starter Joe gave me some hope to take a look at it. 2 stroke mopeds are hard to find! Any bad review here is likely a function of the people writing, not of the owner. We are many, he is one. Reviews very because we are the variable. One year warranty on everything...(excluding wear and tear items such as tires) Three year warranty on the motor and trans (best warranty available in Hawaii) Top speed of 45 mph. Joe was very helpful and knowledgable. Always willing to help customers (saw a customer come in with moped that had a broken throttle cable...It was fixed free of charge (because it was under warranty) I would definitely recommend Mopeds Direct to anyone looking for a good deal on a good moped. read more

My son went to get his safety check done at Mopeds Direct a week ago. To his surprise, Joe the owner conducted the safety check in less than 5mintues. 6My son had a very bald rear tire & his signals didn't work, yet his moped passed.
