One of my biggest fear is locking my keys in my car with no help around and that is exactly what happened to me on a Tuesday morning. I locked my keys with the engine running along with my PHONE inside my car! My key would not turn the tumbler and I could not unlock my door. I called Moran Lock &Key. They came out within the 20 minute time frame as promised. After asking several questions in various about whether I lived at the address, my door was opened. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars was because I was told over the phone that the charge would be $40.00. When the locksmith came out, he said the charge was $45.00. He did not give me a receipt, and I did not insist on one because I needed to use the bathroom and could not wait any longer. One other thing, he waited for a tip. Called a week ago to inquire about getting a key programmed, told them I would be providing it they said it was fine and gave me my quote. Made an appointment with them today and when I came in one of the guys asked for the key, I handed it to him and he walked up to another guy who took a look at it. He came back and said they won't be able to do it because the key is "locked" and when I asked what he meant he said it's "used" therefore it's locked, and if I wanted it done I would need to purchase one through them. I purchased the key off a very reliable website and it's a brand new key so I was confused how they would come to that conclusion just by looking at it for less than a minute? I'm not even sure they took it out of the plastic baggy it was in. I walked out and decided to call another locksmith to see if I would get the same response. Went to Kwik key and they took care of me right away without an appointment. I didn't mention anything about the key being potentially "locked" as they have a no guarantee policy anyway, I figured if it works cool if not oh well I will return it. The girl programmed it without any issues and it cost me $10 less than what I was quoted here originally. I'm not sure if they just didn't want to do it, but the interaction just seemed very off and I was kind of upset that I went out of my way to drive all the way to Palmdale when I could've went down the street to Kwik key. read more

The car they sent didn't have any branding on it, I didn't know it was them until the guy stepped out and said he was here to help me get back in. We just move In to our new home in E. Lancaster. I called Moran Lock & Keys and the information over the phone was very helpful. I called them the next day and they came out and changed all the locks within less than 10 minutes. The gentleman had a face mask and he was very professional and polite. Really great service. I only feel they should be able to give you a window instead of letting you know when they are heading to your place because I had to wait most of the morning and didn't know at what time they would arrived , just before I was about to check up on them for an estimate window, they called me and were at my house within less than 10 minutes. I took an old door lock to them from the home I just purchased in order to have it keyed to match the new locks I just put in on the other doors in the home. They charge $8 for this service which is a pretty fair price. Definitely take the time to take the door lock off and bring it to them since they charge a $40-50 fee to come out to your home to do it. Unfortunately the lock I brought them had previously been damaged and they could not repair it. We didn't discover this until after they had rekeyed the cylinder so I still had to pay them the $8 (I didn't argue this since they had already done the work). I also had them cut copies of my house key and mailbox keys which were $1.50 each. They guys are really friendly and chill but they do get busy as the people who came in after me had to wait ~15-20 minutes. read more

Thank goodness for Brandon! I accidentally locked myself out of the house at 8pm Sunday night in the rain!!! Hungry and on our way out for dinner was not the right time to lock your keys inside the house. Luckily I Google searched 24 hour lock smith and Moran lock and key came up. So I called frantic hoping that someone could come Rescue the situation. In 5 minutes, Brandon showed up and in 2 minutes opened up my door! Thank God....I can't really thank him enough. Embarrassed to say, but I constantly lock myself out of my car and they are always happy to help, they get there quickly, and their prices are the best! I also go to them when I have to make copies of keys. They have also installed electronic door locks in my home. They always have the best variety of key designs so it's fun to go and get copies with them not to mention the best merchandise such as key lanyards, and soccer jerseys. They have also made copies of my sisters car keys (which I know have special chips in them) along with the control to lock and unlock her car.
