One of my biggest fear is locking my keys in my car with no help around and that is exactly what happened to me on a Tuesday morning. I locked my keys with the engine running along with my PHONE inside my car! My key would not turn the tumbler and I could not unlock my door. I called Moran Lock &Key. They came out within the 20 minute time frame as promised. After asking several questions in various about whether I lived at the address, my door was opened. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars was because I was told over the phone that the charge would be $40.00. When the locksmith came out, he said the charge was $45.00. He did not give me a receipt, and I did not insist on one because I needed to use the bathroom and could not wait any longer. One other thing, he waited for a tip. Called a week ago to inquire about getting a key programmed, told them I would be providing it they said it was fine and gave me my quote. Made an appointment with them today and when I came in one of the guys asked for the key, I handed it to him and he walked up to another guy who took a look at it. He came back and said they won't be able to do it because the key is "locked" and when I asked what he meant he said it's "used" therefore it's locked, and if I wanted it done I would need to purchase one through them. I purchased the key off a very reliable website and it's a brand new key so I was confused how they would come to that conclusion just by looking at it for less than a minute? I'm not even sure they took it out of the plastic baggy it was in. I walked out and decided to call another locksmith to see if I would get the same response. Went to Kwik key and they took care of me right away without an appointment. I didn't mention anything about the key being potentially "locked" as they have a no guarantee policy anyway, I figured if it works cool if not oh well I will return it. The girl programmed it without any issues and it cost me $10 less than what I was quoted here originally. I'm not sure if they just didn't want to do it, but the interaction just seemed very off and I was kind of upset that I went out of my way to drive all the way to Palmdale when I could've went down the street to Kwik key. read more

I took an old door lock to them from the home I just purchased in order to have it keyed to match the new locks I just put in on the other doors in the home. They charge $8 for this service which is a pretty fair price. Definitely take the time to take the door lock off and bring it to them since they charge a $40-50 fee to come out to your home to do it. Unfortunately the lock I brought them had previously been damaged and they could not repair it. We didn't discover this until after they had rekeyed the cylinder so I still had to pay them the $8 (I didn't argue this since they had already done the work). I also had them cut copies of my house key and mailbox keys which were $1.50 each. They guys are really friendly and chill but they do get busy as the people who came in after me had to wait ~15-20 minutes. read more

We just move In to our new home in E. Lancaster. I called Moran Lock & Keys and the information over the phone was very helpful. I called them the next day and they came out and changed all the locks within less than 10 minutes. The gentleman had a face mask and he was very professional and polite. Really great service. I only feel they should be able to give you a window instead of letting you know when they are heading to your place because I had to wait most of the morning and didn't know at what time they would arrived , just before I was about to check up on them for an estimate window, they called me and were at my house within less than 10 minutes.
