Embarrassed to say, but I constantly lock myself out of my car and they are always happy to help, they get there quickly, and their prices are the best! I also go to them when I have to make copies of keys. They have also installed electronic door locks in my home. They always have the best variety of key designs so it's fun to go and get copies with them not to mention the best merchandise such as key lanyards, and soccer jerseys. They have also made copies of my sisters car keys (which I know have special chips in them) along with the control to lock and unlock her car. I needed 2 Keys for my Toyota. They are transponder keys and have a chip in them that also needs to be programmed.. I went to the Toyota dealership and the quoted me $201.00 for 2 Keys, and said it would take about 2 hours, but they didn't have them and would have to order them. That gave me the opportunity to do some research on the keys. I contacted Moran locksmith and they made and programmed 2 Keys for me in 15 minutes. They charged me $120.00. Great and professional service overall. I have been calling around to have my boyfriend's Nissan Truck keys cut and programmed and this place did it all. First, when I called I was greeted in a friendly matter. The woman on the phone asked all appropriate questions before having us go to the actual store. The staff were friendly and I highly recommend this place. Prices are definitely reasonable here. Had a pretty nice experience with this company. Brandon from the company came out to deal with my bad and stuck ignition switch for my Toyota. In a very short time he had removed my bad ignition switch & replaced it with a new working one that I had purchased at an auto parts store. I actually had to go out to his company location after we got the car running temporarily, needed to replace the ignition switch I purchased because it did not fit properly but he got the car running but it was the wrong switch for my model car somehow? Key Smith told me my 2000 Toyota Camry didn't need a chip for my key so he made a regular key for it but couldn't start the ignition. He insisted I pay him but I refused since the key wasn't working. So he called his boss and he took out the ignition he had put in and left my ignition on the floor. He didn't bother to install mine back in and left it on and the next morning my car battery died. Wonderful customer service. The store was very busy yet the family running still gave me quality service. Prices were extremely reasonable: one key and one watch battery for $8. They gave me an extra key because my lock was being difficult. They also sell various affordable merchandise such as hats, Chapstick, candy, and different locks. They have a mobile locksmith service. They were careful to make sure each key worked in each lock and said that if I wanted to come back, they could make me a better key. I had 6 of my house locks rekeyed, and they came over right away. They were quick and courteous. It took no more than an hour from start to finish (I don't remember exactly how long). They charge a fee to come to your house, based on your location. This was only 45 dollars to the west Palmdale area. Each lock was $12 each. No hidden fees. Call them and they will give you an EXACT quote, no surprises. According to other reviews, you can also take the lock to them and have them rekey it so you won't have to worry about the "travel/convenience" fee. I opted not to do this because I didn't want to take off and reinstall 6 locks. It was well worth $45 to have them come do it. I also plan on getting them to program another car key/remote for me. I haven't done it yet but I'll review that experience another time. BUT I had it quoted and it is waaaay cheaper than the dealerships, especially if you provide them with the key fobs. Less than $60 to cut and program a 2008 Honda Accord. read more

Very reliable you have to work with them so they can work with you if they can't get your cuts from the dealer and key made that same day it's still worth waiting for pulse they give you a blank for opening your car doors won't start the car but it come with your key so next time you just give them the blank and they make it faster no need to call the dealer. read more

I brought in two blank keys to be made for my car. I was told that there was a "95%" chance they would both work. But, if they didn't, there would be no refund. One key works and one doesn't. I guess I am one of the 5%. If you use Moran I hope you are part of the 95%. read more

I was not going to do this; I'm not one to publicly bash a business, but I have never in countered a person more uncouth than this man on the other end of a "business call." To make matters worse, he's the manager name is Brandon. I was being extremely nice even though the lady that answered the phone had broken English and was very hard to understand, I waited on hold 10 or more minutes while she was inquiring about my questions. Brandon returned to the phone, I asked him about rekeying my vehicle due to broken locks. He says $125 for the one broken, and I said I would like all of them rekeyed including the ignition.... he raises his voice about 6 levels and yells at me " LETS PUT IT THIS WAY WE AREN'T REKEYING EVERY LOCK FOR YOU!!!" "WoW, .....Really?" I am in shock! A person calling to pay however much $$$ and that's how you treat them???? I will never go there or refer them to anyone and honestly this guy needs a new job because he does not do well with customer service and seems to HATE his job! read more

Alrighty...let's get started with this review of Brandon and Moran Lock & Key. It all started with my early morning ritual of going to the restroom. When I returned to my bedroom, the door was locked (Yes, there is a lock on my door)! What the heck?! With my trusty dog locked in my bedroom, and with him barking enough decibels to wake up the dead, I started praying he could hold his urine and not urinate on the carpet. Well, to make a long story short, I woke up grandson #3, and told him my plight. He looked up a locksmith for me and the first one we saw was Moran Lock & Key, so I called only to find out it was going to be a 40-45 minute wait...Gasp! I hesitated at first and then thought, "Why not?" But, within 10-12 minutes, Brandon was at the front door and I was in my room within 1 minute....Yaaaaaa. Moral of the story is: If you happen to have a lock on your bedroom door, always check to make certain it's unlocked before you close the door or call Moran Lock & Key if you're ever locked out. I HIGHLY recommend this family owned business for no one will EVER be disappointed! They are Professional, Polite, and Prompt...the three Ps for being and staying in business. Came in to have a spare auto remote/key programmed and cut, which I had purchased on Amazon. The FOB consisted of two halves (which came apart), the key and the remote. The remote would program but the chip in the key was bad and could not be programmed. They allowed me to purchase just the key part of this assembly from them, and keep the remote part that came from Amazon. Never expected that, and it was cheaper than purchasing the whole thing from them and returning the FOB to Amazon. Great service!! read more

Long story short , me and my boyfriend had a broken key to our car and gotten it fixed the next day. Our car qas in palmdale and we liv in the sf valley. When my bf ane i had finally gotten a ride to palmdale to bring our car back with a replacement key our car wouldn't start. Initially we thought the place we went to to get a replacement key at had not done a good job. Started looking at locksmiths online in the area. Brandon received our call at 11 pm came to our location in less than 10 mins . Started to do what he had to do and he realized that the key wasn't the problem, it was our starter. Poor customer service... I'd scheduled an appointment, and left work to meet the locksmith. I waited 35 minutes, and no one came. I called, and the person who answered the phone apologized, and said the locksmith was on his way. I waited another 30 minutes, no one came. I called back again, only to be told that the locksmith had been held up on another job and would be there in 20 minutes. I hung up and called another company.
