For 4 days and many hours I unsuccessfully attempted to contact my provider (Xfiinity) and Geek Squad to restore my email. Finally, I decided to call Moranda, who I incorrectly assumed would be closed due to Corona virus, like many small businesses. In 2 hours, I was back in business ! 90 minutes after leaving my message, Manny called and spent 30 minutes remotely working with me on my computer and voila ! I am a long time Mac user and recently had some major issues. My very good friend is an IT pro and immediately showed up to help. Try as he did the problem was that he is a PC guy and after many hours trying to help he threw his hands in the air and said "I don't know where to go with this and I can't help you. Call a Mac guy!". After a little research I found Moranda Minds and called asking if they had a Mac guy that did on site work. He said they did and an appointment was set...the very next morning! Dustin Moranda showed up right on time and went to work. He is the owner and a very very good IT person. He worked diligently for two hours and it looked like the issues were resolved. As it turned out, the next day I found things remained the same. Out of the blue he called to ask how things looked. That never happens! I told him I was a bit disappointed that the problem had not been corrected. His immediate response was "I'll be right there". He came over and addressed the issue. He told me he doesn't charge people when he doesn't correct the issue and didn't charge me for the extra visit. Again, that never happens! I contacted Dustin several months ago when my laptop screen went out. My computer would turn on, but was useless without a screen. Dustin came to my home and checked out the computer. He spent his time analyzing and inspecting what the problem could be. He took my laptop with him to continue diagnosis and search for a solution. Dustin informed me what he was up to every step of the way. He says he spent much time reading up and checking every issue associated with my laptop brand Toshiba. Within about 24 hours Dustin diagnosed my laptop problem and ordered the replacement part to get the screen working. I brought in my computer which was the essence of my business. It turns out that my computer was dead because a motherboard was cooked. I'm not surprised it was over a decade old but faithful it was. I brought my computer in to ask for a new power supply and they installed it and it nearly worked and they found that in fact it was my motherboard that was deceased and not my power supply. They returned the corpse to me and only charged me a very reasonable service fee of $30. I was expecting much more. I really enjoyed the service and the information that they gave me about my problem; not me, my computer that is. Thank the universe Dustin Moranda exists. We live surrounded by technology. Technology changes, advances, upgrades and morphs daily. I have no intention to do anything other than enjoy it...but when it goes kaput, slows down, crashes I am as lost as the cave gal who dropped the fire into the pond and can't rub two sticks together, but really wants cooked food, warmth and light. He just transferred all my data from a desktop computer I unplugged to my new desktop. He repaired mess on my husband's laptop. Created icons for my husband to have his own safe places on my huge new computer AND taught ME how to do most of this stuff myself in language I understand. ..then he checked my work to be certain I did it correctly. He deleted programs that I didn't know were archaic or redundant, installed a FREE super p.c. cleaner AND anti-malware program (found 224 attacks my paid program missed) AGAIN showed me how to use it. In addition to seeing the ad in the Cedar St. Times and reading the reviews on yelp*, I chose Moranda Minds. I thought my problem was fairly simple: (1) HP Printer didn't scan (it prints but not scans; (B) could not print from screen - all items needed to be placed in WORD before I could print; (C) could not install Adobe Flash and (D) I could no longer access Windows Photo Gallery. Dustin is certainly charming and young, but he never handled any of my issues and, in fact, after he left, I had no use of my (legal) Office Home Premium 2010 - no WORD, no Excel, etc. I not only can't scan, I can't print at all. Adobe Flash is not installed as I keep getting a 'get latest version of Adobe Flash by downloading now'. There is some cable that is connected to nothing just hanging under my desk. Not sure what it connects or doesn't connect. After fiddling around with Windows Photo Gallery myself, I can use some of it - I don't take/print photos, so this is a minor inconvenience. He routed the printer through my router thinking this would solve the problem - it didn't. As I did not get charged for his services, I did not call him back. He told me he could see I'd done everything he would have done to resolved these issues. He emptied my 'Recycle Bin' - after 5 years of being full - will I ever need anything in there? Who knows? I'm now in the process of finding someone - anyone - who can fix what I think to be fairly simple problems... read more

The hard drive on my laptop crashed and I needed help with changing it into a new one and Moranda Minds gave me excellent help. I dropped by without my laptop just for a small chat and I described my problem, and Dustin helped me and gave me tips for doing some recovery of files myself before turning it in. I came by later on the same day and he offered to have a new hard-drive installed and windows back on it later in the next day.
