Excellent pizza and service! We were the last order on Saturday and got the veggie, the white (their specialty), a cheese and garlic knots and ended up finishing almost everything! The crust was crispy and ingredients fresh! The lady at the counter was really nice and our order was ready in about 20 minutes and ate it on their tables while enjoying the sunset. Oh my land, was this pizza amazing! I'm a local housekeeper with a bit of a foodie streak, so having a place like this just steps away from a house I clean is dangerous. Since I've tried it, I've had such a hankering for their version of a meat lovers every time I'm working. What a wonderful drag! But seriously, I've eaten a lot of pizza in my albeit short lifetime, but this is honestly one of my favorite slices ever. The ingredients are clearly handpicked for their flavor. Fresh mozzarella. Delicious pepperoni. Sausage with a mouthwatering array of tasty spices in it. And the sauce. I'm a sucker for good red sauce and boy, this stuff has me trying to recreate it at home. For all the folks who are visiting Lubec, you must be aware that it's a small town and prices may reflect that. The ladies that run Morano's are wonderful, and I have no issue shelling out a little bit more money to support local small businesses who are impacting their community. This is certainly one of those places. I'm absolutely looking forward to the many date nights in the future that will be fueled by Morano's! If you want pizza in the Town of Lubec, this happens to be just about your only choice. Fortunately, Morano's does a nice job preparing the pies. They focus on pizza, just pizza and have become good at it. The crust is good, crunchy where it needs to be and the sauce adds to the favor. Because they are popular, they do run out of pizza from time to time. Tip: You are better off to call early and get your order in on the nights they are open. I ordered the white and hubby ordered pepperoni. Both were excellent. The thin crust was perfect. The pepperoni was cubed and sprinkled generously. My white had these delicious slices of garlic and fresh spinach. We ordered from the window and ran to the market down the road while our pizzas were cooked. We totally recommend the white pizza and the meat special. Both were delicious and the crust was amazing. The pizza's are what would be a small or Medium at many of the larger chains so for our family of full grown adults one and a half pizzas were necessary leaving one slice each for breakfast the next day. We would have given 5 stars but the garlic knots, while highly recommended by other Yelpers were undercooked by a fairly wide margin. That said everything else was phenomenal and we would highly recommend it to anyone wanting real pizza while in Lubec! read more

This is as close to authentic Italian pizza as you will get in this part of Maine. Ginny the owner is great and makes her own sauce which is the key to the amazing taste of this pizza. Topping choices are simple and clean and the pizza has just the right amount of cheese. This is not gas station pizza, it is real food, so if you think what gas stations sell is real pizza, you may not appreciate this. Highly recommended if you are in Lubec. We ordered online midday and the pizzas were ready exactly on time as promised later that evening, good thing we did because they'd sold out of available slots. Wow! What an unexpected treasure! It might look unassuming from the outside, but it has amazing pizza going on inside. Morano's is a do not miss in Lubec. When you're wanting something other than seafood, this should be the first stop on your list. We had a 1/2 pepperoni and 1/2 sausage pie along with a meatball parmigiana sandwich. Totally bananas that this spot even exists in sleepy little Lubec. It's difficult to find good pizza even in Portland, let alone way down east. They actually cook their pizzas at the right degree of heat (very hot). The pies are 100% authentic, just like you'd get in Italy. Not hyperbole.
