The reviews are about right! Get the White pizza, you won't regret. We sat and ate at the park next to the water close to the pizza place. The lady at the counter was super nice and said white was her favorite too- it's cheese paradise!

If you want pizza in the Town of Lubec, this happens to be just about your only choice. Fortunately, Morano's does a nice job preparing the pies. They focus on pizza, just pizza and have become good at it. The crust is good, crunchy where it needs to be and the sauce adds to the favor. Because they are popular, they do run out of pizza from time to time. Tip: You are better off to call early and get your order in on the nights they are open. The pizza makers are pleasant and try to accommodate.

    White pizza and pepperoni pizza

I ordered the white and hubby ordered pepperoni. Both were excellent. The thin crust was perfect. The pepperoni was cubed and sprinkled generously. My white had these delicious slices of garlic and fresh spinach. We ordered from the window and ran to the market down the road while our pizzas were cooked. Overall an excellent experience.

This is as close to authentic Italian pizza as you will get in this part of Maine. Ginny the owner is great and makes her own sauce which is the key to the amazing taste of this pizza. Topping choices are simple and clean and the pizza has just the right amount of cheese. This is not gas station pizza, it is real food, so if you think what gas stations sell is real pizza, you may not appreciate this. Highly recommended if you are in Lubec. A nice alternative to some of the pretentious restaurants in town. Sit and enjoy the views with the best tasting pizza around!

    Blanco with pepperoni

The pizza was tasty to the eyes but had minimal impact on the palate. It just needed more flavor. It was carryout and disappointing to arrive home with the crust burnt. The staff was very pleasant so that is a plus.

Unassuming from the outside, but don't pass it by!

Great pizza! I wasn't expecting to find good pizza in rural Maine, but Morano's is excellent. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area!

Due to the time and the season we were told no food spots were open and this was likely our only option. Basically a lifesaver to prevent us from having to eat the minimal food we got in our car so we were thankful for their grab and go sandwiches and wraps. Bread was a touch soggy due to sitting in the fridge sometime but overall good size for the price sandwiches. Nothing world class or mind blowing but considering our situation and honestly price we can't complain!

The store is more "grocery" and less "convenience store" thanks to the large selection and the lack of large grocery stores in this part of Maine, which is right next to the Canadian border. Canned goods, candy, dairy, deli, lots of wine and beer plus the sort of automotive items you might find in a 7-Eleven including oil, anti-freeze and gasoline cans. They were stocking the pizza display as we arrived. They also sell lottery tickets. Plenty of parking out front. At this time, masks are required and the nice woman behind the counter was wearing hers when we made our purchase. [Review 14861 overall, 363 of 2021, number 47 in Maine.]

We were seated within about 15 minutes of arriving around 6:50pm -- so far so good. But then it took 20 minutes just to be brought menus, another 15 minutes before anyone came back to take our drink order, and a further 20 minutes after that before our food order was finally taken. The food itself didn't arrive for another 30 minutes after that. By the time we'd eaten and left, it was 9pm -- over two hours for a fairly simple dinner. And after all that, the food was mediocre -- we paid around $50 for it. The one genuine positive was the view of the water, which was stunning. Lubec is a long way out of the way for most people -- the appeal is being the easternmost point in the US, with genuinely lovely scenery. But that's exactly what makes this frustrating: this restaurant knows most visitors are here once, won't be back, and have limited other options nearby. It's hard not to feel like that's being taken advantage of rather than earning the visit. Wouldn't rush back, and if I were traveling through again, I'd look elsewhere.
