Easy parking in a community lot. They don't personally serve food, but there are several food options surrounding the facility. Good, diverse selection of beers on draft, as well as wine and cocktails. Service is very good. I do wish they would update their website with available beers, though. read more

Love this place! What an easy to access spot for socializing. There's a large parking lot, it's right off of the Crab Tree Greenway, and lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Clean and cool (which is nice in the summer) interior! Staff has always been very friendly! As someone who doesn't drink beer, I really appreciate the other options here like ciders and kombuchas! Nice little stop in a strip mall type area, there are a lot of restaurants and other types of shops/activities in the area, you can bring food over to Mordecai beverage. A must try brewery in the Raleigh area! This brewery is located in a shopping plaza with other must try places including Union Station and the Ramen Bar. There's plenty of parking as well. I just love the open concept of this place. Lots of outdoor space to encourage gathering and outdoor play. There's minimal indoor seating as well but if you visit on a nice day, you'll want to sit outside. The menu features all types of beer, cider, and seltzer. There are also nonalcoholic beverages as well. Additionally, they often have food trucks on the weekend too. Def a great weekend vibe if you're looking for something more chill! read more

There's a large outdoor patio (which I'll keep in mind for evenings once it cools down) with tables and even a stage, so perhaps they host live music at some point? They had about 10 beers on draft. I can't remember if they were all brewed there or not. The beer wasn't anything crazy or memorable, but it's a nice casual spot to catch up with friends or meet a date. read more

The Mexican Hot Chocolate and Pineapple Saison with peppers are both good, the heat from the peppers was well balanced with the other flavors. A good selection of guest beers on tap too. I love this place. Has a good selection of house made beers, guest taps, and an outstanding staff. The inside has a lot of games to play and the outside has a large sitting area. I highly recommend the staff for all of the reasons listed above. Came down to run the Raleigh Half Marathon, and a couple of the happenings were located at Mortedcai Bev. We stopped in on Friday afternoon around 5:30 to pick up my packet, and it was rather crowded. Even though it was crowded, there was still plenty of room to move around and grab a beverage. They have their own line of drinks, as well as some other taps available. The pricing is comparable with nearly every other brewery you will visit. They also have a small section of beer and wine you can purchase to go. Our post race party was also located here. They rolled out the welcome mate for over 300 runners and made it a great event. The comfy leather couches were welcome after 13.1 miles. Though we didn't spend a lot of time here, I could definitely see going back when we have more time. read more

Ohh hey, a new-to-me adult beverage joint to add to the rotation. I came here on a whim to get out of the dang house on a dreary Friday evening during covid. First off: the brews. Mordecai beverage was out of many of their homemade brews, but the ones I had were enjoyable. I look forward to going back and trying other offerings. In addition to their beers, there are bottled wine, cider, and cooler fancy beers from other breweries available for purchase. The inside space is ample and outside during normal times has the potential for food trucks and maybe a band with the strip mall's new fancied up design. The company & the patrons that were there on that Friday are doing a great job at covid safety; there's currently no seating inside, numerous picnic tables distanced from eachother outside under the roof, and mask mandate. Bonus of propane heaters for some tables. I'll be back! read more

I think it's definitely an unexpected location you'd find a brewery, in a retro looking stripmall, but I like it. It's most like all other breweries with the dog friendly environment, live music on weekends, some board games, and they have disc golf on Wednesdays, so I applaud the environment and it wasn't busy when we went so it was okay. What I wasn't a fan of is the beer I ordered - I got the blackberry/pineapple sour, and to put it mildly it wasn't very good, it looked more like a smoothie. There are a lot of options but I let someone else try it and they weren't a fan either. Too thick and foamy and too too sour. I did try a sample of another beer after the fact and it didn't taste bad. 2 beers costed 15.50 total, so I guess thats kinda average? Overall, I would come here again maybe on a weekend if they have live music or if it was the closest brewery I live near. It wouldn't be my first choice though due to the taste of the beer I got. This place just opened about 72 hours ago so it's a bit early to form an opinion. It aims to be a brewery, tap room and bottle shop which sounds great. It's located in an old shopping center on capital blvd that is being revitalized / redeveloped as "gateway plaza". The bottle shop and brewery are not operational yet, but the space is very nice and the beer selection is well chosen. I'll definitely be back and am wishing them great success. read more

The Mordecai Beverage Company is a laid back, hip spot to grab a beer or two in Raleigh. They always have a great rotation of food trucks parked outside and have an incredible outdoor space with plenty of picnic tables and ample parking. This is a great place to hang out with kids, because there is lots of room for them to run around and it doesn't get too crowded or noisy. read more

I'm loving this spot! It's a hidden gem for sure. If I ever owned a brewery and space, it would look similar to this. The place looks small from the outside but the inside is super spacious! There are a lot of tables but still space for you to walk around and mingle. The beer is great and unique. I stopped in for a small workshop a few months back. The owners are nice and helpful. I stopped in yesterday to check out the developments over in Gateway Plaza. Mordecai Beverage currently has a lot of beers / ciders on tap, but only a few options in the bottle shop, with plans to expand that. The bartender was super friendly. The space is really great--there's a lot of room and it's very open. There is a mix of seating options with a couple couches and then some table/chairs as well as bar seating and an outside area with picnic tables. They also had a corn hole set up. It'll be really cool to see how this develops in the coming months and as Gateway Plaza is finished. read more

The service was superb, the space inside and outside was excellent, but man were the beers **disappointing**. They were weak (tasted more like water than beer) and far from flavorful. We purchased 6 4oz glasses and only took a few sips of each as they weren't drinkable. read more

We stopped in around 9:30 on a Saturday night to quickly pull through the renovated shopping center and see what's on deck and luckily found MBC still open so we stopped in for a round. They had 20+ rotating craft beer options on draught and a few wine selections. (The retail selection still seems to be largely in development.) The bar itself is nicely upfit while the rest of the space is mostly open, which worked well for a group in here celebrating a birthday. We were glad they had the football game on and to see that they were dog friendly. My beer drinking companion was disappointed there weren't more dark beers available given the season and I wasn't particularly impressed with the size of my $11 wine pour. The barkeep answered our questions but wasn't particularly keen on engaging in conversation. If you live or work nearby this is probably a nice after work or weekend spot but not one we would feel the need to cross downtown for unless attending for a specific event. read more

Had a great beer selection, and a neat little space that has a "warehouse brewery" feel to it. They had some board games to play while you sat and drank, although the selection was a little weak. Was a little busy afternoon we went, so had a harder time getting a drink. There was a lot of kids there, which is great if you're a parent that it is kid friendly, but for us contributed to it feeling a little cramped and loud. Would definitely go again though! read more

I was in the same bike group that came in out of the rain on Sunday 24th May 2020. Every prior visit here (and there have been many), we've been well served. On Sunday, though, the gentleman who required the mask could definitely have been more pleasant. None of the potential clients were rude to him, and we left one guy with a bandana to buy the drinks for all of us. In addition, there were only three or four other people in the place, at a table in the center, and one of them (albeit with his back to the bar) was not wearing a mask. This shutdown has hurt small businesses like this most of all, so it's not surprising to encounter a little impatience -- but while it may be understandable, it's never welcome, and a smile beats a surly reply every single time. read more
