Timber is AMAZING! Easily the best pizza I've had in Raleigh and it's not even close. Granted, I am a sucker for anything that is (or is close to) Neapolitan style pizza. It was just so, so good. The menu offers a wide variety of pizzas depending on your mood for the day. It was a difficult choice, but we wound up going for The Bambino. Absolutely no regrets, and it was an amazing combination of flavors. They also have a great variety of drink options at an incredible price (cocktails for $10.50 or less, and wine/beer for $8 or less - hello??). Such a great experience and we will be back! read more

Wow, I've been looking for a Neapolitan-ish style pizza (as it was almost like a Neapolitan style with the smoky crust and thin/crunchy similar to a ny style pizza). When you arrive there is parking available out front or on the street. Walking into Timber Pizza it feels like a 90s summer camp vibe with a beautiful pizza oven in the middle of the restaurant and the overall pizza shop felt small/welcoming. We ended up sitting up at the bar and ordered a couple drinks to start. I ordered a pint of the Utica Club Lager which was excellent and very easy to drink. My partner ordered a glass of the Spellbound Pinot Noir which also was great and had a nice finish. For food we ordered the Bambino pizza (spicy honey marinara, mozzarella and provolone blend, fresh mozzarella, all beef meatballs, pesto, garlic oil) which was excellent. The crust was perfectly cooked, along with all of the flavors from the meatballs, garlic oil, pesto, etc. which made this pizza a hit and something we couldn't stop eating. So, I revisited Timber Pizza on a moderately busy Friday night and would have to say I was pretty disappointed. The empanadas and pizzas were okay but not anywhere near as good as the first time we went at lunch. For me, if I order three small pizzas, a couple sodas, and a small appetizer that passes $80 with tip it better be great - it just wasn't. The dough had no real flavor and was floppy telling me they need to give their oven some time to recover. Kudos to an excellent staff who make sure you have what you need and to the clean interior with good seating available indoors and on a small patio. I just can't rave considering the inconsistency I experienced between the two visits. Bottom line - if your business is pricey pizza, you need to be on top of all aspects of your process and make it perfect. read more

I thought the pizza was solid but I was by no means blown away. The pepperoni pizza had a decent crunch and came out quickly. The best part of the meal was the wheat beer from Raleigh Beer Company. I started off with the slow roasted brisket empanadas and they were absolutely delicious. The dough wasn't too thick and the meat was tender and moist. It was served with a spicy pineapple dip, which paired together perfectly. I also got the Bentley. At first glance it looks like a regular pepperoni but it's far from it. The cured chorizo, sweet peppers and spicy honey were amazing. The dough wasn't too thin and crispy. All around really really really great pizza. I'll be back for sure. The service was quick and friendly. I can only imagine it gets packed due to limited seating so get there early. The atmosphere is casual and you pick your own seating. read more

Stopped through while in town for a margarita pizza to go on a Saturday evening. The place was popping which is always a good sign to me. I love that they have old fashioned root beer in a bottle, so good. I was able to order at the counter and they had my order ready in just under 15 min. The pizza was pretty good. I like a little more mozzarella on mine and I prefer the basil to either be slightly wilted onto the pizza or at least ripped or cut into easy to bite pieces. The pizza was topped with a few large basil leaves (I love fresh basil) but it meant that we had like 4 bites that had a whole basil leaf and the rest of the pizza without basil flavor. The pizza was thin and a little floppy, it cooled off very fast (which I know can happen with Margarita). Their homemade ranch dipping sauce was really good. On both visits, I was handled professionally and with extreme courtesy. Both pizzas I had were absolutely delicious on both visits. Yes they are a really good pizza shop in the Raleigh area! This is a hidden gem in Raleigh that we chose randomly while our getaway to the pullen park. We loved the location and their outdoor seating. They have a huge place inside too but the weather was warm and we chose to sit outside. Go inside,order at the counter, grab the table number and sit at a table of your choice and they will bring the food to you. Easy peasy. We ordered beer, soda, roasted pork and roasted cauliflower empanadas, a margarita cheese pizza and a Penelope green pizza. They have a limited menu but still a good variety of pizza options, all pizzas are same size and pretty much same price between $16 to $18. Substitutions are allowed so that's great!! The roasted cauliflower empanadas were such a delight, loved the pulled pork one too. Pizzas have thin crust, freshly baked and very light!! It's been said everyone likes pizza, and I do like pizza, but rarely think to go out for it. Timber Pizza is so good! It's changed my thinking! At Timber Pizza the ingredients are so fresh and unique but without being odd. For example we had strawberry slices on our pizza and I wasn't quite sure. It was amazing! A little sweetness with the salty cheese and fresh herbs, great flavor combination. We started with the pork empanadas and they were delicious. Soft, crispy on the outside, perfect pork, side of sweet and tangy barbecue sauce. To drink I had a refreshing strawberry lemonade with bourbon and it was great. Had the OMG salad (mixed greens, cranberries, candied pecans, apples, and a vinaigrette) as well as the pretty in pepperoni & bambino pizzas. So delicious and yummy. The pictures don't do the pizzas any justice, stop here and try it yourself. This is counter service but they come and give you water and bus your table. We were very excited to get a Timber here in Raleigh (where Ladyfingers Catering used to be next to High Park). We remember it fondly from DC. We were afraid they were going to be packed when we went Sunday afternoon cause of the crowded lot, but we almost had the place to ourselves. Order at the counter. One pizza would have been just enough for the two of us, but we wanted to try two and love leftover pizza (didn't want to disappoint the dog either), so we got the Pretty in Pepperoni one and our remembered favorite, The Bentley. Very friendly Gal took our order and brought our drinks along with a pitcher of ice water. I was very happy with my $8 cabernet. The Bentley came out quickly and we were told they were remaking the Pepperoni one because it had gotten too charred. Love that they caught that before delivering it. We were offered cheese and crushed pepper. Love the Bentley! Has the right amount of heat to it. The little peppers are a pop of flavor. Pepperoni arrived and while good, paled in comparison to the Bentley. It was definitely missing the basil that the description said would be on it. Crusts for both were perfect. Since this was our 1st visit, a lovely employee explained the process. You can sit and look over the menu but then you order at the counter. They will bring you water & plates; then you get a number when you order for your food delivery. My fav was the Lucy with a delicious cheese variety and cauliflower crumbled to mimic sausage. We put in a to-go order for 2 pizzas, and they were ready and fresh at the requested time! They offer green, red, and white pizzas. We opted for a green and red this time - the Green Monster & the Pretty in Pepperoni. These are fairly thin & crisp pizzas, which my husband and I both prefer. The undercarriage was nicely crisp and slightly blackened, making for a sturdy pizza hold. The Pretty in Pepperoni pizza was surprisingly light - there was minimal tomato sauce and cheese, making it easily "crushable" as my husband likes to say. The Green Monster was a bit heftier comparatively, but still on the lighter side for a pizza. There was a fair amount of kale on this and the pesto gave it a nice, herbaceous flavor. I typically venture to Durham for pizza and decided to bet on a new place in Raleigh. Timber did not disappoint! The service was prompt and friendly. I ordered the bambino without meatballs and added oregano and smoked paprika. I really appreciated a cost deduction for removing the meatballs. As a vegetarian, I've never understood why some places still charge the same premium even when you ask for meat to be removed. So thank you Timber! Additionally, the pizza is excellent! Ordered over $100 worth of take out. The empanadas were burned, salads bland, and they gave us the wrong pizza. When we realized the pizza we were given was cheaper I called the store. The girl answering the phone proceeded to hang up on me, so I called back. I told of the error and wanted a refund on the difference of the pizza I should have had. She said she didn't know how to do that and would need the manager to do a refund. My refund wasn't received and this will be the last time I waste money at this restaurant. read more
