We went back with fresh eyes! 4 stars were for service, venue & kitchen. The rest leaves a little to long for. Pros- Great building & vibes. Nice viewing area & brewing room potential to rent sq footage for an event. Dynamite smiling face behind the bar. Happy, pleasant, engaging, knowledgeable. A kitchen that's being rented to a mixed variety food menu. We had Gyros. Great quality & great size. Ordering was seamless. They had a little something for everyone. Think food truck without the wheels! Love that they offer 2 on tap ciders (guest taps) and 2 NA options. Things to improve- All breweries do trivia, bingo & karaoke. What's something that is identifying to CRB? Just seems a bit stale to be polite. Loved their live music and guest monthly schedule. Several of the beer (specifically the coffee porter & honey wheat) were high IBU in turn being very bitter. We wanted to love the wheat and the coffee porter but both left us longing for better. So if we are a brewery... be great at that. Why are we a full service liquor bar too? A few options to appease everyone but we were surprised at the bourbon choices. Not only does it look cluttered, it clearly was selected by someone who has a preference for liquor/bourbon vs. a brew master. Maybe do a rotating cocktail list or 4-6 out of this world drinks and cut the rest. Drink prices at this price should not have pre done sour mix in them. Quality liquor should mean quality ingredients too. Big thumbs down on that. We did love the mimosa cocktail idea and the beer-rita with the use of CBR beer. Sames from 6 years ago- Chairs still suck. Parking is a little bit of an adventure but not sure there is a solution but rather just something to plan ahead for. No niche beer... still. We had their newish beers in each category. Overall... Scottish is still a solid choice. Lack of identity/theme/flagship beer (although we were told their IPA was?) Overall this place could be rocking 7 days a week! It's a good place to run by after work or gather a group and play card games, have access to a nibble & drink.

Great drinks, friendly staff, fun events! The vibes are immaculate, we love coming here (and bringing our dog!)

Always a great place to see live music. Families enjoying themselves while playing card games too. Wonderful place for a lazy Sunday afternoon!

It was fate. My favorite food truck at one of my favorite breweries.

I'm not sure how I've never reviewed Compass Rose because I've been going there for years. What I love most about it is there's so much space inside. I've never felt cramped or that I'm being forced to listen to the conversation at the table next to me because they're so close. Even before COVID, there were plenty of tables to choose from. They also have a large outdoor patio with canvas covers overhead and large picnic tables. They used to do fire pits on the weekends. If you like IPAs you'll find something you like as they typically make up half their beer menu. For the rest of us, there are typically 1-2 sours, a stout, cider, and other ales. They do offer flights and half pours, plus you can bring your own food in. There is always a food truck set up outside. Lo and behold, the gods smiled upon me last night and my favorite food truck, Arepa Culture, was there! It was a good night.

Visited for the first time for a friend's birthday. They had reserved a few tables and brought in some outside food for the party. The place is very large with lots of seating, and was the perfect spot for a birthday gathering! Beers were awesome! They had sooo many different options, and if I had not been the DD I would have liked to try more of them! I tasted the Sashay sour, PangoMapaya Sour, Rosalie Farmhouse Ale Saison, and BBA Ready About Brown Ale. My favorites were the sours, but all of them were good! They have a bunch of games inside including giant jenga and darts. We will definitely return to try more of their beers on a future visit to Raleigh...I wish we lived a little closer to enjoy it on a regular basis!

Nothing fancy here. It is not my type of brewery where everything is IPA. Would be great if they can offer some Sour options

Went on a Sunday afternoon. They only had one bartender working the entire bar, getting a drink was a needlessly long process. Think 20-25 minutes to get to the bar to order and the bartender wasn't a very chipper guy, in fact, he did not seem happy to serve us or anyone for that matter. Plus there was a kid's birthday party at the brewery the day we went. Yes, child's birthday party at a brewery... what's that about? I think I would understand a bar and grill where food is served but perhaps not a straight brewery. The mickey mouse balloons did not go well with the brewery scene in my opinion. I like the indoor space, minus the kids running around, and I like the outdoor seating area, away from the kids. Don't get me wrong I like kids but not exactly when I'm trying to relax and drink a beer on a Sunday afternoon. I would go back to this brewery though because of The Cow and the Oak food truck but that would be my only reason to do so.

Good indoor and outdoor space. The bartender was all by herself on a busy Saturday so service was a little slow.

Wow, I was so surprised after trying Brewery Bhavana when we first moved here. When you arrive…read moreparking can be difficult in this area as the restaurant backs up to Moore Square. I'd recommend parking a few blocks away and walking if you are unable to find parking nearby. Walking into the restaurant you'll be transported to a modern brewery, bookstore, and flower shop. It feels chic, Belgian inspired, and upscale. To start I ordered a Vase IPA which was excellent. I then switched to cocktails and ordered the Black Sesame Old Fashioned (bourbon, black sesame, black walnut bitters), the Dionysus (pinot noir, raspberry lemon shrub, chambord, amaretto, lemon, rhubarb bitters), and an aviation (hendricks, luxardo, creme de violette, lemon). By far the Black Sesame Old Fashioned was my favorite and what a nice touch with cracker on top of the dish. For food we ordered the Gai Lan (Stir-fried Chinese broccoli with garlic and oyster sauce), the Peking Duck (Whole, barbecued, free-range duck served with steamed bao buns, cucumber, scallions, and hoisin-honey sauce), Sweet Soy Chicken (Scallions, bell peppers, and caramelized in our ginger soy sauce. Served with jasmine rice), the Lo Mein Noodles (Stir-fried noodles with julienned shiitake mushrooms, choy sum greens, soy sauce, and shrimp), seafood dumplings (Lobster, shrimp, and scallop dumplings served in garlic and black mushroom sauce with fried Youtiao doughnuts), Chicken Curry Bao (Steamed buns filled with spicy yellow chicken and vegetable curry), the Beef with Longhorn Peopers (Sautéed beef, ginger, and longhorn peppers with Shaoxing wine sauce. Served with jasmine rice), the Xiao Long Bao (Steamed crab and ground pork soup dumplings), Nasi Goreng Crab Fried Rice (Traditional Indonesian Chinese fried rice with blue crab meat, Nam Pla fish sauce, house made Nasi Goreng sauce, served in an egg crêpe), and the General Tso's Chicken (Crunchy, sweet, and tangy, Bhavana's General Tso comes with your choice of chicken or tofu tossed in our house-made General sauce and topped with sesame seeds. Served with jasmine rice). By far our favorite food items were the seafood dumplings (excellent flavor, Chinese donuts were so good, along with the flavor from the broth), and the shrimp lo mein noodles (cooked perfectly and the sauce was perfectly distributed). Definitely check out brewery bhavana if you are looking for excellent Chinese food in the Raleigh area. This is by far one of my favorite restaurants in the area.

Well, I finally got to try Brewery Bhavana and it was indeed incredible. Definitely worth the hype. We met my coworker and her partner here for dinner, and I was grateful we had a reservation because this spot was poppin' on a Monday night! The dining room is huge, but the decor breaks things up a bit and makes your meal feel intimate. Everything is shareable, so I highly recommend visiting with fellow foodies who want to try a little bit of everything. Honestly the entire menu sounded amazing, and it was hard to choose! Thankfully our servers provided some excellent recommendations. The Pork Bao was probably my favorite bite of the night, and may very well have been the best Bao I've ever had. The Lap Cheung Fried Rice was also delicious, and I'm usually not a fried rice person! Also worth mentioning is the Lo Mein, which we ordered with chicken. We didn't stay for dessert, but all of their sweet offerings sounded incredible as well. I did try one of the beers they brew on-site, the Sow. It was light and sippable, and I appreciate their diverse beer and cocktail offerings. I can't wait to visit Raleigh again because this will be my first stop!

The service is always fun and i enjoy the open atmosphere. This Belgian-inspired brasserie continues to be one of my go-to destinations for great food, craft beer, and one of the best Painkillers in town. My must-order dish is always the crispy beer-battered pollock paired with their perfectly seasoned truffle fries. The fish is light, flaky, and fried to golden perfection, but the real star might be their housemade tartar sauce--it's absolutely addictive. A few other standouts from our table included: Savory risotto topped with seared shrimp and blistered tomatoes The NRBC Juicy Burger loaded with onion straws and beer cheese Every dish was packed with flavor, and it's easy to see why this spot remains a local favorite. Whether you're stopping in for a craft beer, cocktails, or a hearty meal, this is a place that's always worth the visit.

The first thing we noticed as walked in was how warm the place was. They have an open kitchen which is generating heat. They didn't seem to have central AC. They did have one wall mounted AC which was nowhere enough to cool down the place during peak summer days. We almost decided to leave and go elsewhere but we sat down. We got the following: Grilled Caesar salad was pretty decent for what it was. Duck Poutine was quite underwhelming. It was pretty cheese fries with duck on it. Not quite the typical poutine that also has gravy on it. Blood Orange Crème Brulee was my favorite item of the three we had. You could taste the blood orange in the crème brulee which was amazing. The portion could have been a big larger. I was expecting it to be in a small coffee cup. I could have had another one easily. All in over an average experience. Not sure if I will go back!
