Relocation move of personal furniture from Illinois to Kansas in June/July 2025: Travis Collins was exceptional as the Mordue Moving sales person. He was personable, explained all services and costs associated with my families move from Illinois to Kansas, and he remained my point of contact throughout the entire move. I have moved all over the world with both the military and with Caterpillar and this was the best move ever. Leo the driver of the moving truck as stellar, along with two different crews who packed and unpacked my furniture as shown by their quality work in that no damage was done to my House Hold Goods or my homes in Illinois and Kansas. I liked the people that I had dealings with at Mordue Moving Company so it's hard to be critical, but then, being likable and doing the excellent job that they claim their experienced movers perform are two different things. First they got my area code to my phone number incorrect and the two moving men were not able to contact me - I kept looking at all forms of contact including email but there was nothing from them. I didn't even receive a email confirmation the day prior which surprised me. My move occurred on a freaky winter weather event day - one day the weather was mild and great and the next day, which was my move day, was bitter cold with snow and ice. In retrospect, I should have rescheduled the move because the bitter cold, snow and ice certainly slowed them down. It would slow any human down, to be fair. Next, with a large truck full of moving blankets why didn't these experienced movers not place a blanket between two end tables that they sandwiched together - one upside down on top of the other?!? They had to know that the friction of the drive would cause damage to the end tables - and it did! Look, they were old end tables that were my Mother's and had been refinished by painting. I don't claim to be an experienced furniture painter but they looked good and I was happy with them. The friction took the paint down to the old brown wood. I can repaint them. I actually just went ahead and ordered an orbital sander so I can do it correctly. - I don't want it to show where the paint was rubbed down by the friction. It would not be a smooth finish and I wouldn't be happy with them. So yes, It's going to be some work and I work full time so time is hard to come by. And I guess if I hadn't been paying a premium price of $177/hour I wouldn't complain but... my total move came in over the estimate and was a whopping $1400!!! I didn't have any local large corporation paying my personal bill. Then one of the movers, a very likable guy, liked to talk. He spent quite a bit of time talking when he should have monitored himself and refrained from talking about his personal life when he was on the clock. He also took several phone calls. I think more so when you are charging by the hour you should guard against these types of unprofessional behavior. It takes a lot of self discipline to do so. But then again Mordue Moving Co touts their movers as being experienced and professional. So perhaps it's time for Mordue Moving Co to do some more training with their movers and refresh what should be done to prevent damage to furniture (such as using their many moving blankets as a buffer from scratches) and to review and instill what is professional behavior at the work site. read more

Gave me a quote (not the lowest by a long shot), then said it was more when loaded, Then said it was EVEN MORE before they would unload it by 40%! Missing/Stolen unreplaceable property. The 2 gentlemen who packed my trailer were nice and worked fast, but I'm so disappointed. I've moved many times but have never had so many of my boxes crushed. 1 was totally open & on top of all my stuff. I don't know how it got crushed but a pan & a pillow from that box were on the floor when I opened the trailer. I also to D the guys that my tv was my most prized possession. They set it it on of one of my entertainment centers but not packed in. The force of my things settling in & moving forward bent my stand & it won't stand up straight. I'd also told the salesman that I needed a tv box for my tv. The movers said they knew nothing about it, and had to drive back to the warehouse. I for charded for this & they never did pack my tv in a box. Tis is the worst experience I've ever had with movers. read more

Mordue Movers were personable and friendly. They were very organized and packed up my stuff quickly and carefully. They also did a great job with the bigger items needing moved and carefully wrapped all breakables. The only thing I would be cautious about is their billing and adding up of services. We were given and charged for an extra mover even though we didn't know there was an extra charge for a 3rd guy nor did we ask for one. The movers also tallied up the total wrong and there has been issues with their accounting department. But the actual moving process was very good and I would recommend Mordue Movers to others and use them again. read more

Mordue moved me into my new home in 2015. They packed everything up and took great care in making sure things were correctly secured and marked so we knew where everything was. The guys were friendly and worked hard to get everything done in time. I would recommend them and use them again in the future! read more

I have moved 14 times in the past 20 years, and this is the first time I actually had a company pack and move me (arranged through work), and it was the worst moving experience I've had. The men who packed and loaded were super fast, but careless and didn't listen to me at all. * When I pointed out what was especially fragile, that was ignored o e.g., when I told them what group of furniture was antique, it was still treated carelessly (drink bottles placed on top, metal lawn chair propped against, didn't seem like very good protection when it was wrapped) * There was no pre-condition check/agreement; I said I wanted to go over existing damage before stuff was loaded, and it was just carted to the truck without any discussion--turns out he labeled EVERY piece of furniture I had as scratched/chipped (even when absolutely perfect). I'm assuming in an effort to avoid issues later if there was damage. * I was just handed papers to sign, and I was supposed to agree to the inventory without actually having seen it packed/loaded, and he got testy when I asked for time to read the documents first and told me there was nothing to explain when I asked * It was supposed to be two days--one for packing and one for loading--but they just decided to do it all in one day, without consideration for us planning on two: we had additional items to go into the truck the next day (scheduled loading), but instead we had to cram everything into my car and had to get an additional night in a hotel (no bed) * They let my cats escape twice by opening the bathroom door, and just acted like it wasn't important * They used the bathroom and refrigerator without asking permission first (I would have said yes) We're not done unpacking yet, but below is a list of what I've discovered so far. Damage or Missing Items * damage to bottom of recliner--material torn loose and dangling * our drone (in an open box) was just dumped in a wardrobe box and some blades were broken * the inventory stickers placed on my antique furniture removed some of the finish when taken off (three separate cases) * our bathroom towel rack arrived with all screws loose (almost lost) and a missing cap--it wasn't packed in a box or wrapped in plastic * fragile items were at the bottom of wardrobe boxes, with other, heavier items on top (photos: foam roller, hat box, temperature gauge that wasn't wrapped) * there is a scrape/mark on the top of my punching bag * our CD cabinet was moved without securing the hardware or preventing the doors from sliding back and forth, so two shelf pegs were lodged in the door tracks under the sliding doors, and two more are completely missing * a jewelry box my great-uncle made me was placed at the bottom of a box and snapped * we have a shelf that is missing all the shelf pegs I was told that my computer desk would likely not make the trip because it had existing damage. It has been successfully moved with this damage at least three times; however, it seems like because we were warned it might break, the movers didn't care and didn't take any precautions to try to save it (wrapping the legs in plastic, keeping it stable between other items, etc.). It arrived in absolute pieces. Questionable Packing/Moving * a trash bag with used cat litter was packed in one of our boxes (that smelled lovely after a week in a truck) * our speakers were packed with material side down and no wrapping/cushion--potential damage when boxes were placed on the ground or stacked * I had some finished puzzled that were glued together and were sitting in a box lid--that box lid was just dumped in a wardrobe box and the puzzles broke, and some pieces were dislodged into the box and could have been lost (photos) * in general, things seemed carelessly thrown into wardrobe boxes, where parts could be lost or fragile things could be damaged * a box labeled "flower pot" was actually a kitchen item * a box labeled "patio" was placed in our living room * a box with bedroom items was placed in our shed outside There are just a lot of little things that could have been avoided with a little less rush--hopefully, they'll be more careful in the future. And hopefully we won't discover more as we finish unpacking. The company that hired Mordue told me to fill out a claim sheet, but I'm wondering if it's even worth it--likely they would just blow me off and not bother with the "lessons learned" part for the next customer. read more

Received great service from my load crew but the office staff botched the delivery. My delivery didn't even leave the Mordue facility for 24+ hours after it was scheduled to be delivered. Add 2 day for a 700+ mile trip and I'm stuck with hotel and food bills with no support. Every time I called, I was told a different story but never the one saying my stuff was setting in their lot. Now have been forced to pay the full moving bill before they will release my goods. read more
