Was a client since January 2020 and loved the service. We've been living in our current home since Dec 2020 and saw fee increases of about 5-10% yearly. I've been a MoreHands client since 2020, but unfortunately, the company has become a shadow of its former quality. What used to be a dependable, high-standard service has slipped into mediocrity. On top of that, the customer service and scheduling experience, once seamless and personal, have noticeably declined. The "upgraded" system and app offer much less utility and easy of use. Frankly it is wack. Communication has become slower and less responsive. The most recent clean took two individuals nearly an hour to complete an 1,800 sq. ft. home, and the results were underwhelming at best. Beyond that, their customer service has completely fallen off. Repeated calls went unanswered, and even after texting and emailing to cancel service (and receiving confirmation), the cleaners still showed up. After years of loyalty, I can confidently say I'll no longer be a patron. It's disappointing to see how far the company has drifted from the professionalism and reliability that once set them apart. read more

The first time they came it was pretty good I have never had a cleaning service before. I felt they were pretty detailed not perfect but good enough. They gave us plenty of notice and spent about 2 hours in our 4-3 house. The next time they came it was right at 8am a bit earlier than I expected and only gave 15 min notice. I was a bit frustrated of the time but was like ok whatever. They began to clean and they finished the whole House in right at an hour. I go about my day to see they had not wiped the fridge they had not wiped the oven. And they have missed some stuff in the bathroom. Just not worth it for my family. read more

My friends suggested this service so we thought we would give them a try. I should've read the reviews here first. The cleaners did fine the first couple of visits. After they the space was met with quickness and indifference. I don't think a 3/2 home can be "cleaned" in less than an hour. To boot the scheduling department doesn't have it together. This place is a total scam. I was changed $453 for work that was never done. I was not in town and am obviously too trusting of people. My home was never cleaned. A 'supervisor' came by after poaching my neighbors when I was back in town, and agreed that they would be coming back to actually do the work. This never happened. These are the 'after' pics. I called and requested a refund, explaining that the work wasn't done, and the owner was quite rude and oblivious to the fact that his maids didn't clean the house. I will be going to the BBB to let them know about this disreputable company, and disputing this charge with my bank. Buyer BEWARE and please take your biz elsewhere. read more

Do not recommend, the cleaners rush through the cleaning and leave so many details unattended.

Our home is a little less than1,500 square feet. Crew is in an out in less than a half hour. Very superficial job - and, if you want a clean shower forget about it. A few years ago they were expensive but good. Lately they've drastically cut their standards and consistently leave add on chores undone or shoddily finished. Additionally I was charged for folding clothes recently when I neither requested it nor was it done. I never leave laundry for them to fold, it's always put away before they arrive. The last straw was when they never showed up for an appointment I scheduled on a Saturday. Three hours after their ETA I had no update (which they promise if it changes by 45 minutes or more). I've since tried to get the fraudulent charge refunded and my recurring service cancelled but no one has responded to my emails and no one answers the phone. Not what I'd expect when they regularly charge $300 for Saturday cleaning service on a small house. Stay away and pick literally anyone else! read more

DO NOT RECCOMEND USING THIS COMPANY*** This company more than doubled their price on me while they cleaners were in my house, and then bailed on the job because I expressed to the manager on the phone I was upset about the very last minute price change. I wish I could leave 0 stars! I hired this company to clean my house. I had a long conversation on the phone and felt very good about the price and the what the service covered. The morning of the appointment, they came an hour earlier than expected. Which wasnt a big deal other than I wasnt at the home yet to let them in. Then after I get there and let in the ladies, I receive a text message saying that instead of the rate I was quoted, they were changing it to an hourly rate, instead of a flat rate and now it would total MORE THAN 3 TIMES what I was quoted. I was quoted a flat rate of $239 and they changed the rate to $90 an hour and said it would take a minimum of 6 hours. I called the number and spoke with a woman, who explained they had some new employees working for them and she would have the manager call me back. The GM Pedro called me back to tell me he pulled the phone call. I was in fact told the wrong price. He said he would not honor the price. I was told and I needed to pay the hourly rate or cleaners would leave. I explained to him because I had to turn my keys in soon I did not have time to find other cleaners so I will have to be charged the rate, but I would leave a review because I was unhappy. BECAUSE I SAID I WOULD LEAVE A REVIEW, THE MANAGER SENT THE CLEANERS OUT OF MY HOME AND COMPLETELY BAILED ON THE JOB! This has put be in a huge bind and is the worst service I had ever received. I asked why am I not aloud to leave a review. Part of the terms of them having a business account is allowing customers to review them. Now because the manager sent them out of my home, am I am not able to find another service in time, I can potentially be fined for the house not being cleaned because it is breaking the terms of my lease. I do not reccomend this service to anybody even as a last resort. This GM refused to give me the company location or another person to speak with the company. Very shady company. Not honest. More hands maids is poorly run and not reliable - after two years of business they have consistently in the past four months cancelled their visits last minute w no explanation. It is not the cleaning people's fault but they are poorly paid and on many occasions hide issues eg they broke a mirror and didn't tell us while we were out of the house, or they didn't complete the additional work because they had to get to their next job, there are lots of other better cleanings services in Austin which take better care of their employees and their customers. read more

Terrible experience. We relied on this place to clean our rental before we turn the keys in. They knew we had only a few days left. When the cleaners got there, they said that the cost was twice what was quoted and that they would leave if we didn't agree. The "manager" who called to confirm was insulting and unprofessional. While acknowledging that he heard the quote we were given on their recording, he still refused to honor it. He said he knew that we had no choice. Unbelievable. Would never call them again. The first clean was great, they did a wonderful job then they just started going down hill each time after I signed up for a reoccurring plan. The last straw was I came home to a floor that wasn't mopped, dishes were not done (this was included on my plan that I payed for) they put dirty dishes on my baby's clean bottle drying rack. I ended up having to wash and sanitize the bottles again because the dirty dishes got on them. Almong many other issues with the cleaning. I took tons of photos and called Morehands. The guy that answered said he would call me back about the discount for this cleaning... never called me back. I called and left messages and emailed. This was on May 11th, it is now July 6th and still am waiting to get this resolved. :( I went ahead and canceled the rest of my scheduled cleanings and took my business elsewhere. read more

MoreHands is a Texas based company so I'm not sure why there are reviews from out of state. Anyway, I've had better cleaning services back home, so I would say their cleaning capabilities for the price are about 3 stars. However, I give them 4 because they are consistent and they have a good website. I can book a service and know how much it will cost. They keep me updated on cleaning day to let me know their ETA. There have been a time or two that the cleaning wasn't great and they rectified it immediately. I have tried to book with other companies. However, those other companies couldn't give me a price or I couldn't get it completely scheduled or the companies were a no-show/extremely late show. So, with each disappointment, I come back to MoreHands and get good/consistent service. read more

I had been using an app-based service to book cleanings for a while, and experienced several issues with cleaners showing up at the wrong place or not doing a very good job. On top of that, I received little help from the app itself when reporting issues and the process was very frustrating. I recently switched to MoreHands and am very happy with the job they have done (so clean!), the level of communication they provide and the ability to reach someone that's directly in charge of my account and the team that cleans my house. Completed the bare minimum of cleaning requirements. I had MoreHands come monthly and the first time was great. The third time they came they spilled bleach all over my shower curtain. No one let me know, it was just a surprise for me when I got home. The last time I used this service it was the most rushed cleaning job. It's the first time I've paid $200 to come home and clean up my apartment after having it cleaned. Most importantly, they left the lock box with my keys OPEN and the code on my lock box was not scrambled. This was not a fun way to come home. When I called to report this they said "it's seem like the people were in a rush and we can discount your next service." That's not the most helpful information when one's apartment is left open for anyone. read more

When I first got my commuter apartment in Austin, I tried to find a cleaning service and the quotes I got for a 1br/1ba apartment were astronomical. I decided I would just do my own cleaning - until this week - I knew I wasn't getting it as clean as it should be and decided to call Morehand Maids. What a great cleaning service! $79 to have it cleaned once every three weeks, which is perfect. The two cleaners showed up on the early side of the time window I was given and didn't miss a beat. Since payment and everything is handled through the main office beforehand, they just go right to work. And they don't have to ask you questions because they know what they're going to clean - EVERYTHING! Since they're fully bonded, I got out of their way and went to the office. We have used them several times, but never again. I called last week to schedule a walkthrough quote on the property for a "make ready" cleaning. They showed up and gave the estimate. Then scheduled for the next day. I noticed there was a $38 charge on my cc the next day. When I called to ask why they charged me, he said because I canceled that day. I never cancelled. They specifically said they were coming out to do a quote. He then argued with me over $38. I told him they were more than welcome to go ahead and clean the house yesterday but had decided not to because I had a few items left in the fridge and cabinets. Not professional. I am in the customer service industry and this was ridiculous. You lost my frequent service because of $38 and a misunderstanding. In a town with numerous amounts of maid services, you made a mistake. update: I received a message on my vm just now saying he had listened to the call and I was indeed correct. I just realized I've written not one but two fairly nasty reviews of other maid services and haven't said one thing about the service I keep coming back to, again and again. So here goes, MoreHands: you may be costly and you don't always do an utterly fantastic job, but you're better than the competition. I'm not sure what it says about me that I write so many reviews of maid services when I'm obviously awful at cleaning my own house, but I'm not going to stop. I don't want to be really good at house cleaning. I want to be really good at my day job and at my hobbies and at writing reviews on Yelp, and I have a lot of work to do in all those areas. So when I get a maid service, I'm looking for professionals who not only want to be good at house cleaning, they actually ARE good at house cleaning. MoreHands mostly has that down. The level of service has varied over the several years we've (sporadically) used them - sometimes it's a-mazing, sometimes just meh. But when I get home, the house always smells great, every toilet and counter and tub and floor is clean, they've arranged our sofa pillows and throws into amazing new arrangements I would never have thought of in ten lifetimes worth of house cleaning, and they've left a nice little note with the maids' (note the plural there) names on it on the kitchen counter. I also really like their pre-service service. I can call, email or fill out the form on their site and they always get back to me within 24 hours with an appointment time. Several times I've called and they've been able to come out within a day or two, in a timeframe of my choosing. And the guy who does the scheduling is super-nice. One downside is the cost - if you're used to a "woman I met on the bus who I pay under the counter" scenario you're going to have some serious sticker-shock here. I can live with it; I figure I would rather work a few extra hours at my day job to avoid hours of scrubbing vast unswept acres of tile floors. And the other downside is that even after paying that money, you're not always going to get everything you want. Sometimes they'll lift up those scary sofa cushions and vacuum up all the dust-and-crumb bunnies; more often not. Sometimes they'll take a stab at dusting our miles of bookshelves; more often not (and I don't blame them, there really are miles of bookshelves). They don't always get everything that I, living in my house, can see is dirty but do nothing about on my own. But no matter. I keep coming back because three days before Thanksgiving when I suddenly realize cleaning the house is way down on the list of pre-dinner prep I want to personally handle, MoreHands will come through and do a decent enough job that my mom doesn't notice I never learned how to clean a toilet. read more

I used Morehands for about a year before I stopped - the first couple of cleanings were intensive and thorough. However, by the end of the year the maids would drive up and be gone within about 30-35 minutes. Granted I live in a 900 square foot townhouse (2BR/2BA) which is small but I didn't feel that I was getting my money's worth (about $90 each visit). I'd find areas that were not dusted and forget about baseboards/windows being cleaned. On a positive note, the owner is good about contacting his customers, scheduling online is a breeze, the maids arrive on time (generally) and only a couple of things were broken over the year of service. Guess they are the big maid company in town but they are possibly toooo busy to get things really clean. read more

This was the first maid service we've ever used and the overall experience wasn't great. We were forced into a 3 visit contract, which sent up some red flags but we went forward with it. I can't speak to price comparable to other services since this was our first, but our money spent to perceived value was rather low. The first visit was actually pretty good. They did the baseboards as an added expense, which was nice. It felt rather through at first then we noticed a lot of areas that were missed entirely or "overcleaned". The baths didn't get a very through cleaning, more of a spray and wipe down than a good cleaning. The vacuuming was sufficient but hastily done and spots in the open were missed. There was a lot of lack of detail the first visits and it was worse the subsequent visits. The neglected more and more, they treated it like a marathon, in and out as fast as possible without attention to the idea of a "job well done". As for the over cleaning there were spots where it felt like they dumped a whole bottle of cleaner on an area. Our bed stands for example were like a thick sheet of slippery ice, and the floors surrounding them were literally ice skating rinks(I slipped several times even after trying to wipe up the wax). I don't blame the women who cleaned, I have a feeling they get overbooked or not trained properly. We will be trying another cleaning service soon, and hopefully I'll have more positive review for them. read more

I was really not impressed by their prices, inability to show up several times, and their work. It really seemed like they tried to spend the entire hour or doing dishes by hand instead of cleaning anything else. They don't really throw trash away, which is kind of an issue. I understand you want to make sure something isn't trash but an empty toilet paper roll is generally accepted as an item you can throw away or replace. Several times they either showed up at a completely different time than the block they gave me, or just didn't bother to show up at all. They were also asking about 90$ a visit, for a 900 sq ft apartment. For 90$ with two cleaning people, I would expect that a only mildly messy apartment would be able to get to "able to present to your parents" level quite easily. Right before I stopped using them I realized I was spending an hour after every time they came to do all the stuff they didn't do; sweep, vacuum, mop, wipe down counters and tables, organize stuff on tables, fold blankets, routine stuff. I'd say you're better off hiring a good individual or trying somewhere else. read more

My dog could have cleaned my house better than MoreHands Maid Service did. I came home expecting a beautifully cleaned house, and I received the exact opposite. My furniture was strewn around, not put in its appropriate location. NOTHING was dusted or wiped down. All I could tell was that they vacuumed and made the beds. I have never been more disappointed in a maid service EVER! I find it absolutely RIDICULOUS that I spent $130 to come home to a house that was barely touched. No clean smell, dust everywhere, nothing wiped down, toilets dirty, didn't sweep the downstairs, picture frames knocked over, shower curtain partly hanging off, dirty dishes still on the sink, spilled wine still on the kitchen counter and coffee tables...absolutely disappointed. If you are wanting your house cleaned, go somewhere other than MoreHands.. I'm still awaiting a phone call back from MoreHands for a refund of service. I'm so upset about this! Very happy with MoreHands! We started with MoreHands about six weeks ago when we came home with out new baby. Each time they visit, they're fast, efficient and friendly. We're definitely keeping the service and look forward to seeing Noemi and Isis every time. I think some reviewers are a bit harsh on the service. I have to update my review of morehands because their service level continues to decline. Perhaps they send their better crews out for the honeymoon period. Sometimes they don't clean well. Sometimes, they break things. They broke one of my husband's stereo speakers. And the other day, I came home to one cleaning my ceiling fan using a really unorthodox method: turning the fan on pretty high and holding the mop against the fan. Now my fan teeters and ticks. They still keep three stars because they've been good about reimbusement, but if things keep breaking, they're going to loose my business and those two stars as well. read more

I won't use them again. Very half assed job. They did a make-ready for my rental property, and missed so many obvious things, I had to clean afterward. They didn't wipe down the cabinets or baseboards, they left a film of stuff in the oven, I asked them to wipe around all light switches, they did not. The kitchen floor appeared untouched. They did not vacuum the stairs. You know, the stuff you need a make-ready for? Then, they had the gall to charge me for an extra 20 minutes. The house was not that dirty, just the usual dust and dirt from a tenant not cleaning thoroughly upon moveout. When I mentioned this on one of their feedback forms, they just said "Sorry, we'll keep it in mind". I asked for a detailed receipt for the cleaning, and they seemed dumbfounded. Hello, this can't be the first time anyone has asked for one. I have to forward this to the tenant, as I am deducting this from their deposit.
