Do not use Morehead Honda of Newburgh. You've been warned. The service department is so incompetent it's hard to describe in words. 1st off, they overbook to such a degree that you could end up waiting for more than 3 hours for something as simple as an oil change. It's not the least bit organized. After you drop off your vehicle, you are handed paperwork for an attendant to go over with you and start the process of having your vehicle worked on. However, after you walk inside, you end up just standing around while everyone pretty much ignores the obvious fact that you are there waiting for someone to greet you and get the ball rolling. It looks like the majority of the employees are either sitting down in a stupor or walking around in circles and getting nothing done. There was a female employee sitting down at a desk trying to help a customer on her computer, but after watching her fumble around for 20 minutes it was clear she had no idea what she was doing. I heard her ask other employees to help her as many people were just standing around wondering when they were going to be helped. Her fellow employees just ignored her. Then another customer that was standing around asked where a specific employee was that had helped her originally. She was told that she was out to lunch. Then there was talk between 2 employees about why the other worker was still not back from lunch yet. It's then that I realized how unprofessional Morehead Honda is. They don't consider the fact that its inconvenient not having your vehicle and that maybe you have kids that you have to pick up at certain time. They aren't concerned that when you make an appointment for a simple service like an oil change that you don't expect to be tied up for 3 hours. The whole time they are all laughing and joking and having a good time. It's seriously that bad. Ive been there many times. It's always bad and seems to somehow be getting worse. I'm now going to have to trade in my Ridgeline and take a hit, because on top of everything else there is a few bugs with the new model I purchased. They just tell me everything is normal and aren't the least bit interested in fixing the problems and making me happy or anyone else for that matter. You do not get to talk to the mechanics that are doing the work on your vehicle. The service deaprtment has completely gone down hill in the last two years. Attempting to make an appointment is like trying to get an audience with the Pope. My husband was on hold for ten minutes and then it went to voicemail, so he had to call back twice to try and get an actual person. Once he gets to the appointment it's $98 just for a diagnostic on what's wrong on top of whatever they will charge to fix it. This is the absolute last time I will bring my Honda to them. Lo and behold i was out the door in 3 minutes flat. claudio has no sense of customer service regardless of his cap of gray hair. they just lost a tier one customer who has purchased 3 cars in 8 years. basically told me he has nothing that i can afford. guess my fico score of 860 means nothing. first and last time there. still looking for a civic but will go to other dealers. now i get all the car dealer jokes when i heard them as a child. read more

Horrible service experience, had our Honda towed there and they kept our car for over a week with new repairs being added to our initial quote the whole time. 1 week later and the car is back ,for a part that was replaced. We were told we bought a rebuilt transmission for our car, but found out it was only a low mileage one they used and apparently didnt check because now it has a leak. Terrible service dept. Brought my car in for an inspection today and they told me brake and other fluids needed changing. I had that all done a month ago-AT MOREHEAD HONDA!! Service rep had looked up my info when I checked in ( otherwise known as agreeing to a sales pitch for dubious repairs). I got my car serviced about a week ago. This was my second time going here because I bought my car from this dealership. I have to drive from the Bronx to come here to get my car maintained so it is a bit of a drive but my first experience was good so I gave it another shot. Upon arriving to the dealership I was greeted professionally and in a timely manner they took my car and sat me inside and said a service advisor would see me. After 10 minutes of waiting and no one looking in my direction I asked how long would I have to sit and wait and was told a service advisor would see me soon. Another 30 minutes passed and nothing but I watched as other people would walk in and be helped almost immediately. The person that came with me to get my car done approached another service advisor to ask the status of my vehicle and HE HAD TO find out for me what was happening after about 40 minutes of waiting. My service advisor who did not introduce himself said "oh I am your advisor your car is ready"... ? Now I was sitting there for over 40 minutes no update on my vehicle, advisement done. Nothing. I am a female yes and a african american woman yes. But I have never experienced this at any car service dealership before. I was just so disgusted and annoyed i took my paper and keys went to my car to find it still with the plastic on the seat and paper mat on my driver side. No one bothered to return my car to me the same way i brought it. Morehead Honda please do better and treat ALL OF YOUR PAYING CUSTOMERS the same. I went to Morehead Honda because it's not too far from where I live. I shouldn't have even wasted my time. I was walking around outside for about 10-15 minutes and no one came outside to help. When I walked in no one greeted me or even spoke to me. I asked where the bathroom was and was directed by the sales associate. When the people that I came with walked in, they were not greeted either. I thought maybe I wasn't greeted because I look very young for my age, and figured they thought I was there with parents who were looking for a car. But when the people I came with (both in their late 50s) weren't greeted, I knew it wasn't us. So neither I, not the people I came with were greeted. (Strike 1). I had to approach someone so I could get some help. (Strike 2). The sales person I spoke to didn't seem as though he knew anything about the cars he was selling. I wasn't 100% sure what I wanted, but I knew I wanted to walk out with a honda that day. The sales associate said the cheapest price he could sell the car to me, was for the price on the vehicle. He spoke to me about the civic ex, and civic exl, but made no mention of the ext. I asked to test drive the ex,,and he brought out the exl. Couldn't tell me what the differences between the two cars were except that the exl came with leather seats and electric chair nobs. Needless to say, I walked out empty handed. I called in August to have my airbags replaced due to the recall for them. Just remembered today about the recall (December). I never got the call to have the work done. They lost my record and the service woman was rude and unapologetic about it. I called them because Friendly Honda in Poughkeepsie service was awful and kept harking via their pushy over the top new car sales techniques. I will try the Yorktown Honda next. read more

I have been driving Hondas for 30 years. They are amazing cars. Recently I moved to the Newburgh NY area and I needed to trade in my Crz for a pilot. I went to Morehead because it was close. It was the worst experience I have ever had buying a honda. The sales people do not listen. They are fast talking disinterested and at all points only interested in getting a new car off their lot so they can rack up another sale. Even the banners on the wall only care about how much they sell. The finance officer was rude and in a hurry. His PC had failures three times during the financing part and I was dizzy when I left with how fast he burned through the papers needed for me to sign up my $40,000. I called later because the hatch latch wasn't working. I called three times and still four weeks later not one returned call. Do not buy a car at this dealership.... read more

I called because the emissions light came on in my car asking if I needed an appointment just to put the car on the computer to diagnose the issue. They insisted a walk-in would do. I go in on my lunch break because I was told it would only take a few minutes. I sat there for 45 minutes before the manager even started my paperwork. I ended up having to leave without the car being seen, but with an appointment for the next day. I showed up and the person checking me in could not speak English and I could not understand a word he was saying. When I told the manager, he just snickered. I told them again it was my lunch hour and verified that I be in and out within the hour since I had an appointment. They swore I would. After an hour they finally had to drop me off at work, where I had to get a ride back to the car later in the day. A huge inconvenience. They then called a little while later informing me that I would have to pay $107 for the car to be "diagnosed." Previous experience at Honda has never seen me having to pay to be put on the computer. Then they tell us they are going to "throw parts at it until the light goes off." I researched the part and it is a $30 fix that will take less than 5 minutes, the first part they tried to replace was $250! I told them not to touch my car. It is also worth mentioning that we bought the car from this dealership 3 years ago and they could not find us anywhere in their system. When I went to leave, they had the wrong keys assigned to my paperwork. The person helping me threw the keys that were wrong at the guy who didn't speak English and told him to help us because he wanted to answer his cell phone that was ringing. Not only will I never buy a car there again (fiasco in sales when we bought too), I will go elsewhere to another Honda dealer for any service I may need in the future. My 22 year old daughter was looking for a new car and the local Honda dealer in Poughkeepsie wasn't taking her as a serious buyer so we drove to Newburgh they had the car she wanted and based on our estimation she could afford. Let me say we dealt with Alonzo and I would give him 5 stars he was nice, professional and treated her with nothing but respect. The problems started when she went back to pick up the car alone. She called me crying because when everything was signed the finance manager told her that her payment was $50 higher than what had been discussed. When she said that isn't what we discussed he said that payment was for someone with a 720 credit score but we had disclosed her credit score the night we made the deal. Come to find out he added a $2595 extended warranty to her contract without mentioning it. (If he hadn't her payment would have been what we had discussed or close to it) I called the dealership 4 days straight trying to get in touch with the finance manager but he couldn't be bothered to return my call or my emails. Finally got in touch with a service manager who listened to my issues and said the extended warranty could be removed and a check would be sent to the finance company but it would come off the end of her loan it wouldn't lower her payment. So we drive all the way down there to fill out the paper to remove the extended warranty. 2 weeks later I receive the extended warranty info from Honda and call to find out why when we had specifically gone to the dealer to have it removed. They said they had not received anything from the dealer so I took care of it on my own and when I called after the money was refunded they still hadn't received the info to cancel from the dealer. Then we get a letter saying they are holding my daughters registration because they estimated wrong and we owe them $29. Really all the aggravation and time I've spent dealing with this and you want another $29 They should pay me for all the time spent dealing with an issue that should have never happened. read more

My wife and I went there this past month, we were looking to trade in our Honda Odyssey and buy a used Honda Pilot. So the Pilot we want to test drive is parked in the lot, and I see mints and dry cleaning in it. The salesman tells me " The boss just got back from Boston with it" LOL hmm? That puts a lot more miles on it then they are telling me. So anyway after the test drive we go inside and then it starts! First it was the lowest offer of a trade in we had received while car shopping. Funny thing is we bought the Odyssey from them. The second was they just didn't seem to want to help negotiate anything. HE does the famous let me crunch the numbers and comes back to me with a very high monthly payment from I guess there finance dept., EVEN though I told him 3 times I wanted to finance through my BANK not them.
