Great parts people and very knowledgeable staff and the lady manager cindy goes above and beyond to get what you need

I purchased a part for a lawnmower, I was told I couldn't return it if the package was opened, when I returned home I looked up the part and I would have had to purchase something else in order for it to work, so I decided to return it. I went back to the store a couple of days later, that's I had to deal with the so called manager, he was intentionally giving me a hard time, all of my information was in the system, he knew what card I used to pay for the item, which was overpriced by the way, he asked if I had the receipt, I wasn't given a paper receipt, it was emailed to me, I couldn't find it, I literally had to go into my bank account to show him the withdrawal from my account he finally told me to put the card I used into the card reader, of course it was accepted and I was finally refunded. His behavior was uncalled for, you don't treat customers that way, our business pays his salary.. read more

I usually use the Advance Auto Parts in Vails Gate, which I have been extremely happy with. I was in the process of replacing my axle and this Newburgh store was the nearest that had my axle in stock, so I came here. Wow. Big difference from the other Advance Auto Parts stores I've been to. The other stores are usually well lit, sparkling clean, and spacious. Not here. The inside of the store is dark and dreary. Several customers were standing around waiting and looking aggravated. The employees seemed either tired or annoyed and overworked. Regardless, they were not too pleasant or eager to help. It seemed like they needed more staff. I waited in line for around 10 minutes and finally got my part. Employees at other stores usually offer suggestions about your project, but not at this store. I've used this store a few times in the past and had similar experiences. When I got my part home and opened it up, it was not a Carquest part like I pre-ordered online. It was some name brand I never heard of. However, it fit perfectly, so I still used it. I will be continuing to do business with the Vails Gate store at Advance Auto. I will only go here in an emergency - and I won't expect much help from the staff like I do at my regular store. read more

Wonderful service! I came in to get parts for an oil change, and worker named Rob helped me find what I needed. Before I went into the store, a man was s*xually harassing me in the parking lot, and I felt uncomfortable going back to my car alone. I ask led if anyone was available to walk me to my car, and the men all became aware quickly and were willing to help anyway they could. Rob walked me to my car carrying my things, and I truly appreciate it. 10/10 service, they are all amazing gentlemen. read more

Where do I start...I purchased a new water pump online and picked it up at this store - long story short, 2 weeks later, after repeated reinstallment attempts, the part continued to leak and we had to have the car towed to mechanic. After the mechanic reinstalled it, it was determined that the part was defective and I purchased a 2nd pump at this store and dropped it off to my mechanic. After more repeated attempts, after also replacing gaskets and senors, it was noted that the 2nd part was ALSO defective and my mechanic then purchased a 3rd pump from NAPA in New Paltz instead and that pump worked perfectly. I contacted the store and addressed the issue with Gino, the asst. manager, and was told "well, this happens all the time, I can't do anything about it" and I asked for the number for their corporate office. I then spoke with William at the corporate office and, after explaining that I had now incurred an expensive tow bill and mechanic costs due to their 2 faulty parts, I was given the run around about how they don't reimburse for this/that but they will gladly reimburse me for the 2 defective parts. I pursued this matter and eventually William and I agreed upon a reimbursement agreement for my out of pocket financial loss and he reimbursed me for the first part purchased online and the store did give me a full refund for the 2nd defective pump. After several weeks, I finally did get my reimbursement check in the mail but my tow expenses were reimbursed in an Advanced Auto GC, which was NOT what I was told I would be receiving, and my check has a clause to it that, in order to cash it, I have to accept what they sent as payment in full - which essentially means that I have to use my refund at their stores!!!!! I find this to be completely unprofessional and sneaky.. A subsequent call to WIlliam was useless, I was completely blown off - BEWARE of Advanced Auto.........and buy your auto parts supplies somewhere else..... read more

The staff is friendly and the store is clean. I ran into some hefty car trouble, and Alex, the Manager, dedicated time from his working day to assist me. I am grateful for him, and I am happy to have met a young man who loves doing what he does. read more
