Morelia's is one of our favorite Mexican Restaurants in the area, this is more of a mom & pop family style restaurant. The food is authentic and delicious. We stopped in for a business lunch, a round of Garlic Soup for the table. The Garlic soup is delicious, great if you are sick or its cold and is unique. I love the taquitos but this time I opted for the Chile Relleno, others in our group ordered an enchilada, michaca, chimichanga, shrimp quesadilla, & wet burrito. Stumbled upon this quaint little spot while in downtown Jamestown. When we first entered we were greeted and seated right away . At first there was only about 2 other tables occupied but once we put in our order people started rolling in one after the other and now we know why . Our food was delicious and came out nice and hot . Everything tasted fresh and we were offered more chips and salsa without even asking and no extra charge . Their salsa has good flavor if you like a lil spicier one just ask like my husband did and they'll bring one out . I ordered two carnitas crunchy tacos which were delicious and they are very generous with how much meat they put in their tacos honestly I would have gotten full with just one !!!!! My husband ordered their chile relleno and tamale both were tasty . We will definitely be going back next time we visit Jamestown. read more

Went to Morelia's for lunch on a Sunday and luckily we were seated quickly as one of our party guests had made a reservation. The service was friendly and our orders came out relatively fast. We were a party of 6. I had the mole enchiladas and hands down, some of the best enchiladas I've ever had. I ordered a coke and was given the option of sugar cane coke or fountain drink coke-- I really appreciated that. My boyfriend ordered pollo a la crema and he loved it. He always orders that dish when we go to a Mexican restaurant and he was very satisfied with Morelia's. The only downside is that the restaurant does not have air conditioning, they have ceiling fans. There is limited parking on the street but across the way there is a parking lot. read more

This little restaurant is so cute and inviting and when I walked in the other day, got nothing but smiles and good vibes. I ordered a simple small bean cheese and rice burrito and it was $6.56 after taxes. They threw in some chips and two salsas and I was very satisfied with the portion of the "small" burrito. It's a good way to go for value compared to a local fast food joint that you're not getting mama's home cooking at. I feel like this would be a nice spot to take your hunny to, chips and salsa are mild, I'm sure the margaritas are on point. Jamestown is up and coming these days with all the restaurants! This was a to go order for seven people, and my interaction with staff minimal, but when I arrived to pickup I was greeted with a smile and to my surprise the food was ready! I like the restaurant's decor and that it's been at that same location for 28 years. So the food must be good right? Right! I ordered the chicken taco salad and it's the best I've ever had! There was so much shredded chicken that I had chicken with each bite. The chicken was moist and tender, and that dressing was delicious. It put the dish over the top. My only complaint? This is one of my favorite independently owned restaurants in the Sonora - Jamestown area. The staff is amazing; always very friendly and accommodating and the food is delicious. One of my metrics is how well a restaurant cooks their whole beans. They are perfect; tender, not over spiced, not too salty! Portions are large, ingredients are fresh, and service is super fast. They have table corn and flour tortilla chips with salsa that is not too spicy, but very flavorful. We had a traditional taco salad, with the most beautiful, sliced avocados. Also, a succulent carnitas burrito that was so large it was impossible to finish. Finally, the setting is adorable; a cute Victorian style home, converted into a large, spacious restaurant. Wow, what a surprising gem in the Sonora area. My friend and I got huevos rancheros and a carnitas burrito. The huevos were very nice - steaming hot tortillas and the beans were just right, creamy but some whole beans as well, nicely salted, just delicious. The carnitas were a stunner - most people just stew pork and call it carnitas. But that's not carnitas! Carnitas are pan-fried after they're slow-cooked. They should be rich but also have crunchy bits and that bacony taste. These were the best carnitas we've had since Baja. Friendly staff and cute spot. We love coming to this place. Most of the time the food is great. But yesterday, my fried chicken wings ordered were burnt and dried out from being over cooked. Yuck with a wet sauce pour over & it was super spicy. So I ordered another without the sauce and these were overcooked as well and dried out. Fried chicken shouldn't not be dry! I wont lie this was the most disappointing experience ive had with Mexican food in California, and thats saying something! I called my order in and sent my fiance to pick it up, they asked her if she had the right restaurant after she tried to correct her food order. We then showed them that their prices posted online are different than what is in store, and was told its not a big deal. so i was unfortunately was charged more for what i ordered. Since my order was incorrect i ended up paying seven more dollars (both items were roughly 20) and i can easily say this is the worst food ive had from a restaurant. The restaurant its self seemed okay, just a bit sticky and warm since there were so many kids in when we went. Due to the taste of the food and our interaction with the staff we wont be stepping a foot back in there. read more
