They were sweeping up and cleaning tables as I walked by... I said I felt like I was home as I passed. I was able to seat myself and since I was a party of one I chose the small table in the front window. I felt like I was at home on my porch back home. Watching cars, unwinding. I was watching the locals go by minding my own business sipping on a Modelo. I ate some dinner after a long day at work while traveling out of town. I asked for them to wait to drop my food and I was in no hurry. I was watching the tables to make sure I wasn't taking business. I enjoyed my evening as best as possible since I couldn't be home with my Boyfriend and kiddo. I had read the reviews and asked for the hot sauce and a little bit of each on a chip was delicious and perfect for this Guera. I asked for a side of the mole sauce. I smothered my chicken taco with that mole sauce and I'm telling you the flavors of all their sauces and their food was perfect. The whole place has such a cozy, homey vibe that you instantly feel comfortable. We started with the complimentary chips and salsa, which disappeared suspiciously fast. I tried both the garlic soup and the tortilla soup, and the tortilla soup absolutely stole the show. If you're only getting one soup, make it that one. I also had the chile relleno, and it was really good. The egg batter was fluffy, light, and wrapped around the chile perfectly. The rice was a little bland on its own, but once you mixed it with the beans and sauce, everything came together nicely. We also ordered the milanesa empanizada and added grilled onions on top, which was definitely the right move. The service deserves its own shout-out. Everyone was so friendly, checked on us often, and made sure we had everything we needed without being overbearing. Went to Morelia's for lunch on a Sunday and luckily we were seated quickly as one of our party guests had made a reservation. The service was friendly and our orders came out relatively fast. We were a party of 6. I had the mole enchiladas and hands down, some of the best enchiladas I've ever had. I ordered a coke and was given the option of sugar cane coke or fountain drink coke-- I really appreciated that. My boyfriend ordered pollo a la crema and he loved it. He always orders that dish when we go to a Mexican restaurant and he was very satisfied with Morelia's. The only downside is that the restaurant does not have air conditioning, they have ceiling fans. There is limited parking on the street but across the way there is a parking lot. read more

Stumbled upon this quaint little spot while in downtown Jamestown. When we first entered we were greeted and seated right away . At first there was only about 2 other tables occupied but once we put in our order people started rolling in one after the other and now we know why . Our food was delicious and came out nice and hot . Everything tasted fresh and we were offered more chips and salsa without even asking and no extra charge . Their salsa has good flavor if you like a lil spicier one just ask like my husband did and they'll bring one out . I ordered two carnitas crunchy tacos which were delicious and they are very generous with how much meat they put in their tacos honestly I would have gotten full with just one !!!!! This little restaurant is so cute and inviting and when I walked in the other day, got nothing but smiles and good vibes. I ordered a simple small bean cheese and rice burrito and it was $6.56 after taxes. They threw in some chips and two salsas and I was very satisfied with the portion of the "small" burrito. It's a good way to go for value compared to a local fast food joint that you're not getting mama's home cooking at. This was a to go order for seven people, and my interaction with staff minimal, but when I arrived to pickup I was greeted with a smile and to my surprise the food was ready! I like the restaurant's decor and that it's been at that same location for 28 years. So the food must be good right? Right! I ordered the chicken taco salad and it's the best I've ever had! There was so much shredded chicken that I had chicken with each bite. The chicken was moist and tender, and that dressing was delicious. It put the dish over the top. My only complaint? One of my metrics is how well a restaurant cooks their whole beans. They are perfect; tender, not over spiced, not too salty! Portions are large, ingredients are fresh, and service is super fast. They have table corn and flour tortilla chips with salsa that is not too spicy, but very flavorful. We had a traditional taco salad, with the most beautiful, sliced avocados. Also, a succulent carnitas burrito that was so large it was impossible to finish. Finally, the setting is adorable; a cute Victorian style home, converted into a large, spacious restaurant. Wow, what a surprising gem in the Sonora area. My friend and I got huevos rancheros and a carnitas burrito. The huevos were very nice - steaming hot tortillas and the beans were just right, creamy but some whole beans as well, nicely salted, just delicious. The carnitas were a stunner - most people just stew pork and call it carnitas. But that's not carnitas! Carnitas are pan-fried after they're slow-cooked. They should be rich but also have crunchy bits and that bacony taste. These were the best carnitas we've had since Baja. Friendly staff and cute spot.
