Driving back from Sonora we decided to try something new and stopped at Sergio's. It's a very small casual place with seating on stools along the walls. There's an extensive menu so it took awhile to decide. I ordered a wet carnitas super burrito and my husband order the same, only with carne asada. We were given 2 baskets of chips and we got 3 of their salsas from the salsa bar before finding seats. The chips were good and each of the salsas we tried were very good - mild, medium, and one with a little spice, but not too hot. My favorite was the green one. Yum. The food came out pretty quick and the burritos were HUGE. I mean enough for 2 meals huge. The Carnitas was excellent. You know how they can sometimes be salty? Well, these were not. It was perfectly seasoned and very tasty. The burrito was Jam-packed with rice and beans. It could have used a bit more meat, but still a very good choice and I would definitely order it again. My husband was very happy with his Carne Asada burrito. I tried the asada and it was also very good. The price is very reasonable and we will definitely be returning. Each of us brought home about 2/3 of our burrito so we'll be eating these again tomorrow! I would highly recommend. read more

Stopped by Sergio's and was honestly impressed. They hook the food up with great portions and everything had amazing flavor. The chili bar is a nice touch because you can try different salsas and customize your food how you like it. They also sell beer which adds to the chill vibe. Good spot to eat with family too. My company uses him for catering every summer at our camp taqueria night and he is prompt, has a great setup and the food always delivers rave reviews from our campers and staff. After a tiring day, we were looking forward to not making dinner. Unfortunately, it was poor. My chili relleno seemed like it was floating in water from the "salad". Had to soak it up with a napkin. The rice was hard and not cooked. My husband's burrito was also dripping a lot of watery something. Too bad, it would have been a convenient place to pick up dinner, but we won't be back. We had heard some good things about Sergio's Taqueria so we stopped by this evening on our way up the hill. Definitely, good authentic Mexican food. We got a couple chicken tacos, chili verde, and an enchilada with rice and beans. Service was excellent. They were out of chili relleno, but I get it on our next stop. We're excited and lucky to have this new restaurant so close to Mi Wuk! We talked to the owner and found out it's run by the same family that runs Taqueria Sonora, so you know the quality is great. The salsa bar is top notch (same as the one downtown), the inside is spacious and clean, and the food is freakin great. Highly recommended to check out!
