coffee & pastry

I'm anxious to get back and experience some of those delicious looking meals. My first visit was before closing so I picked up a last delicious pastry, so did not see the large selections of photos I've seen. The iced latte was enjoyable. Morena truly wants to please and provide a delicious experience. I can't wait to get back and taste more!

Across from South Central Park and next to the Winter Haven Library resides Richard's Fine Coffees…read more For over 25 years Richard's Fine Coffee's has been supplying downtown Winter Haven with caffeinated beverages and food. David Tuttle opened Richard's Fine Coffee's on June 11, 1996. Upon realizing that there were no independent coffee house in Winter Haven, he wanted to bring residents and visitors a new coffee drinking experience. Richard's originally operated out of the Arcade Building before moving to the new Winter Haven Public Library when it opened its new building in 2005. In the ensuing years Richard's Fine Coffee's has become a cornerstone to the revitalization of downtown. One of the keys to Richard's longevity has been providing a place where people can meet, relax, and enjoy delicious coffee and bites. On the first Friday of every month they have a live music event. They serve a daily breakfast and lunch menu that includes hot and cold coffee drinks, breakfast sandwiches, bagels, hot and cold sandwiches, salads, soup, and pastries. I popped in for caffeinated refreshment during a recent trip to Winter Haven. I like how you can enjoy your drinks and food in their large dining room, on the patio, or across the street in beautiful South Central Park. Richard's has become more than a place where you can eat and drink. It is an important part of bringing the community together in downtown Winter Haven.

I ordered a regular coffee with cream. The better half ordered a Latte. We also ordered a blueberry crumb cake to split. There was quite a variety of wonderful looking pastries to choose from. The crumb cake was warmed up for us and brought to our table. The coffees were ready within 5 minutes. The coffees were delicious (yes, I sampled the latte), one of the better fresh coffees I've had. The crumb cake was also delicious. Staff was friendly and the interior design relaxing. We'll be back .

Amazing experience with this place ,far exceeded our expectations. We made reservations for the…read more11AM ( first opening) and we were happy that we did. Parking was free and ample. Directions to the restaurant were clear from the street with good signage. One may call this an upscale tea room/ brunch: indulging dessert experience; depending on how you order. We skipped our breakfast to make room for the experience and we were not disappointed. Seating and decor was British colonial setting. The food was delicious and prepared well. The desserts were decadent and the TEA service was exotic. The food ordered was pasta Florentine and (rich and creamy goodness), blackened mahi over mango salsa was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Quiche was not bad . Mediterranean platter came with humus, roasted eggplant and Tabbouleh. Eggplant was sharp in flavor. Chai was served full of flavors and spices; green ginger tea flavorful and needed time to get to full strength. Raspberry in Paris Rooibos was naturally sweet and well scented. For the desserts we ordered strawberry scones with clotted cream, Italian wedding cake, hummingbird and the chocolate ganache. They were large portions and decadent. Importantly the owner made sure to accommodate us on the menu and was quick to respond to any issues. Isabel and Carline were exceptionally gracious host. Explore the grounds and gift shop on premises and savor your experience. Godwilling your experience is like ours and better.

We also thought we'd get a tea to go. Stopped into the gift shop and browsed. Cute shop! We went in and inquired about high tea but was told that they aren't sure when they'll have just yet and to check back on the website. They also didn't have tea to go. So a little disappointed but the place is beautiful and one day we will be able to try it.

She has a few coolers to display her Cheesecake, but some a completely empty. Now the cheesecake does look good, but we came for the Coffee! We were in the area and found this. They have a variety of flavors to choose from and actually, she made a mean latte. I was quite impressed! I was a bit skeptical, due to how the placed looked on the inside but having a real espresso machine was a good 1st step. I had a vanilla latte which was delicious. Also the prices were fair, just over $5 for the latte. I wish i wasnt full and would have tried some cheesecake! Next time maybe...

New Place for us!…read more FAMILY COFFEE & DRINK ADVENTURE!!! Saw this place one night next to the Hibachi we always go to in Winter Haven, check out my review for Hibachi Express winter haven, Fl. Was super excited to bring my wife here the next day as it was her Birthday and she LOVES COFFEE!!! To keep it short It's a nice place, things are pricey, especially the Cheesecakes and it was just ok in comparison to other Winter Haven Coffee Hot spots - Haven anyone??? We were going to do coffee and cheesecakes for a Birthday Breakfast, but WOW, the cheesecakes were like 8 something a slice and they are small for the price. I don't care how good they are they are not a good Food to Value in my pockets opinion. We were there so we got drinks. 1 medium caramel macchiato for the Wife and it was very caramel sweet, not a good ratio in her opinion. We ordered a cappuccino, quad shot espresso, that I was charged for 2 espressos for instead of 1$ per extra shot like most other places. 2 Teas and it was over 30$. All the drinks could have been better. None of us really enjoyed them. Got the Fam some cake pops for 2.25 each everyone said they liked them. The service was good, only 1 kid working by themselves and it did take time for the drinks to be made. Luckily no one else was there so he was able to focus solely on our order. They were also out of a few different drinks the girls wanted first, so they had to choose a tea that was not really the best. My little one had the frozen hot cocoa and they enjoyed it. All in all we would most likely only stop back for coffee if we were in the area. It is a Sunday and we want coffee out, but not good enough to drive past our go to's for coffee on the other 6 days. Cheesecakes looked good, but for the price of 3 slices. I can buy a whole cheesecake and add my own toppings. AS ALWAYS, TRY IT FOR YOURSELF!!!

The nice staff man at the counter asked me how I liked my coffee and I told him and he just put something together. I also ordered the almond croissant. The coffee was delicious with almost a floral note to it. Seemed very appropriate for this place. The croissant was super flaky and filled with a delicious almond crème. Absolutely delicious. My friends both ordered the guava and cheese pastry but said you really have to love guava if you want that because there's a lot of filling. We can't wait to go back. I will say because they are located on the side of the busy road the outside can be kind of loud. But the inside only has tables for two. So keep that in mind!

Everything is fresh and feels like prepared with love. They have all kind of breakfast option from sandwiches to croissant, rolls, buns.. amazing and delicious.. The other reason we come here is , they use organic flour and milk, everything is quality and baked daily in house and the delicious flavors shows it.

They can make an americano (two shots of espresso and hot water). But NO real brewed COFFEE. This is my second time here. The first time I got espresso and they gave me a complimentary short bread cookie which was quite good. This time I sat at the bar area and watched the cook. I also ordered food. Watching the cook I noticed they pre-make their pancakes and then nuke them. The same for the french toast. Any time you see a microwave in a restaurant you should be concerned. And this is going to sound super judgemental, but I have to take away a star just for the microwave. And I didn't order the pancakes or the french toast, so who knows how they tasted. I stayed long enough to watch him make pancakes, so I guess he pre-made some for the rush. Same for the frech toast. The place doesn't have a hood vent so I can see why he wouldn't want to make a bunch on the spot with customers around, because the smoke was starting to fill up the place. I had a double espresso on this visit as well. And got that super good short bread cookie again. I am not a big sweet eater, but those little cookies are addictive. My food order was an egg whisk with ham. It comes with bread, but I opted out of that. They were really slammed with customers and to go orders so I waited quite a while for my food. Honestly it was worth the wait. Also got to watch the cook and he was doing a really good job of pumping the food out and it all looked delicious. So there is that. The set up is more like something you would have in your kitchen at home. Some of those sandwiches had great eye appeal. I am sure they were good because didn't see anyone sending anything back. And it was really enjoyable watching the cook hustle.
