Disappointed in my stay here this week. Our client recommended this as the place to stay in town, so we did. Here are some things that went well and others that need improvement. What went well: - safe location right off highway 70 - adequate and free parking - breakfast starts before 6 am, and it includes healthy options like fruit and oatmeal - bed in room was comfortable and there was a good desk with lighting What needs to improve: - water pressure is inconsistent, so toilets don't flush properly and showers have a mind of their own - please clean the room properly: there were muddy boot marks on the ottoman - please add a safe to the room - please add teabags to the coffee service in the room Pro tip: If you're here at the recommendation of a client, call the hotel directly and make your booking. You'll save a lot of money. In my case, I paid $369 per night for two nights when I could have paid $179 per night. Total bill was over $840 after taxes and fees. I've paid less for good properties in large metros on both coasts! Will likely be back as they seem to be the best option in town (for now, at least). read more

Springhill suites, when did Hotels stop giving a bottle of water? Vanessa and Amanda, Pete and Iliana were all great, but something is lacking here like when we went to our room the door was open! Also, there were containers of shampoo and conditioner with nothing in them. We came back from dinner and passed our hotel because there was no lights on outdoors and that was 7:30. I waited till eight they never came on so I had Amanda check it out and she flipped the switch. I'm glad they serve breakfast, but they have absolutely no protein. It was just all carbs. I do have to say the property was clean and manicured the hotel lobby, rooms were nice, but the trash cans were full. All in all it was a nice hotel and I would go back to stay there, but they need to check things out and take the smoking section away from the front door. I WOULD RECOMMEND read more

Very clean hotel with extremely friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is 5/10. But the reason this is a three star review is the awfulness of their showers. The Gila valley has some of the worst hard water anywhere and it ruins things like shower heads very quickly. That is what has happened here. They barely work or spray every direction. It is extremely unpleasant. Now I understand that happens and I could be forgiving...if I hadn't mentioned it three other times that I've stayed here and it never gets addressed. Be better, please. You're the best property in town by far but I've arranged my trips not to stay with you because of this. Captive audiences aren't guaranteed. Oh, and you can be charged well over $300 a night for this experience. Shower head replacement is not a huge expense to factor into the maintenance of hotel charging those prices...in Thatcher, Arizona. read more

Safety concerns, lack of protection for a single woman. I was harassed throughout the evening and night with the last incident occurring at approximately 3:10am. Someone is banging on my door really hard and the front desk stated that they will still be allowed to stay in this hotel but notify them if it happens again. We have We have been staying here several times a year for many years. I know the pandemic changed the way things were, but if this is what Marriott has chosen for their partners and guests, they will lose my business. It might just be the local owners and their approach to hotel management. We used to look forward to the breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, yogurt, cereals, and bagels, and make-it-yourself Belgian waffles. Now, you get food that looks and feels like it came out of a vending machine that was unplugged 48 hours ago. The egg muffin was completely disgusting. Our kids would not touch it. The hard boiled eggs were in a plastic sack with yellowish water in it. The premade waffles tasted like military rations. The yogurt, bagels, and cereals don't exist anymore. The two containers of ice cold, hard-as-rock biscuits looked like the bread that Sam and Frodo ate on their journey to Mordor. I could barely bite through them. Our kids finally just ate straight up Nutella out of a little pouches, and I had oatmeal. I couldn't get any brown sugar out, because it was solid as a rock in the glass container. The chocolate muffins had to be at least three weeks old. You could not break off a chunk if you had a jackhammer. The hotel pool only had a handful of towels available, and the pool was filled with leaves and trash. The toilet seat was broken, and the little fridge, despite how many times you turned it back on, barely got cool. The staff, however, are a nice bunch of young people. I feel bad that they have to work here. This is the end for us. We have been staying here since it opened. It is like staying in a truckstop locker room. If you are used to staying in Marriott hotels, you are going to be sorely disappointed. Update: the following morning, there was a different girl working the kitchen, and they had the waffle maker out as well as some yogurt, some quiche, and some soufflés. It was quite a bit better, so it appears that only on Sundays do they put out the good stuff. The rest of the week this hotel caters to those employed by nearby mines. They take up almost all of the rooms, so you pay a premium price if you want to stay here during the week. read more

I have started staying at this location. The first time I checked in, it was Celeste at the desk. She has an awesome personality. The second stay it was Celeste again. She is so bright and cheery. I was in 312. I'm usually not thrilled about sharing a wall with the elevator but you couldn't hear it. Other than that the front desk attendant was very helpful, the room was clean and it was a standard Springhill breakfast. Probably the best hotel in the Safford/Thatcher area. read more

I spent 2 nights a week here for the last 3 years, and although being on the road was rough, they all made my time away from home enjoyable! The Sales manager Maria always made sure everything was perfect for me. In the rare cases my company had to book me another hotel in the area, rooms nowhere near as nice and Staff not as awesome. Where do I start? Right as I walked in I was greeted and welcomed and made to feel right at home. Although my stay was short, I can think of two people who stood out...Maddison and Maria. They have great attitudes and seem so positive and it added that extra touch that made you feel like you were not just "staying at a hotel". Stayed for two nights this weekend. Hotel was clean as was the room. Parking was good. Hotel staff was helpful. Although advertised on website it is not a hot breakfast, unless you count the frozen burritos. Beds were decent and shower worked well. Super nice hotel. Exceeded my expectations for the gila valley by far! My absolute favorite thing was that they didn't use little mini cheap shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, etc. It was all nice big bottles that were Paul Mitchel's Tea Tree Professional line. Bed was super comfy. They also have a cute little market by the check in desk full of snacks and essentials you often forget to pack (our toothbrushes for us). Decorated nicely. Spacious room and bed. The only reason I knocked a star off was because when our room was cleaned, the trash was taken out and we got new towels... but we didn't get new coffee cups or coffee and new bed sheets. Also looked like the grout in the shower had pink specks that needed to be cleaned. But overall still a super clean nice hotel! read more

What a great place to stay in Thatcher/Safford. I chose a suite and really like the setup of the wall between the bedroom and sofa/wet bar area. It's very clean and nice throughout the hotel.I wish the pool was indoors and there was a hot tub but otherwise the place is great. Breakfast was delicious with lots of options. My husband and I stayed here 2 nights. We did not find it as comfortable as other Springhill Suites we have visited. The suite was divided into a bedroom and a sitting room. The "sofa" in the sitting room was really uncomfortable because it was so deep. It was as wide as a twin bed with a long cushion at the back (kind of like a futon). I am 5'6" and I had to stuff 2 bed pillows behind me to get any back support. My husband is almost 6' and he also had to stuff a bed pillow behind him to get back support. Other than a desk chair, there was no other seating in the motel room. I think this "sofa" was designed as an extra bed for an additional guest. Or else it was designed so that a really fat person could lie on the sofa and watch the swivel TV located midway between the bedroom and the sitting room. I would have preferred a normal sofa with back support. Although other people might disagree, I thought the pillows on the bed were too soft. My head sunk too deep. The room was quiet and clean and otherwise comfortable. The lighting was good for reading. The downstairs lobby had enough seating for the included breakfast. This is a fairly modern new hotel. Thatcher is not a large town. Springhill Suites might be the best motel in town. read more

Upon arriving no one was at the desk. I did wonder around looking for someone. Eventually someone came to help. When they gave me the key they did not tell me how to get to the room. I had to turn around and ask. Although the staff was friendly, they did not seem to be well trained in giving quality service to the customer. The 1st day there, the elevator stunk! It was as if they washed the floor with old dirty water and not enough cleaning solution in the water. The room was fairly clean. Some lint on the floor and the full length mirror was dirty. Other than that the room was pleasant enough. The breakfast in the morning was ok. Eggs, bacon, sausage cereal breads ... simple. Would have been nice to eat and drink on something other than paper or plastic. Although this day the elevator did smell better. There is ample parking. A Denny's across the parking lot. I needed to stay in a hotel for a week because of urgent repaors at home. All waterpipes were gone and it was more like a swiming pool than a home, This inn was helpfully quite near the principle territories that I should have been in, so it worked for my necessities. So far so good. Also, there is an open air shopping center with a lot of great sustenance. if you are transfering yourself from the airplane terminal to the hotel be readu for a trafick jam with around 10 minutes with no movement. About the hotel: First, the administration was incredible. Looked at in and checked without any issues. Had a couple inquiries, which they could speedily reply. That is great ! There was only one issue with my room. I just couldn't precisely open the restroom entryway without hindering my room's lobby way. Something about the floor wasn't level on the grounds that the entryway made an appalling scratching/scratching clamor as it rubbed against the floor. But thas not so big deal at all. I will mention some pros and cons: The pros from my point of view are: Nice calm off road in Phoenix. Situated in a decent neighborhood. Nice and healthy breakfast: frankfurter, prepared potatoes, eggs, grain, waffles, biscuits, natural product, juices too. There is free Coffee and Ice water. Affordable and even cheap rates. No issues with the parking the cons are: Moderate housekeeping. I'd be gone throughout the day, return at 5 toward the evening and the room still wasn't fixed. It happend only one time but it made me bad impression. Som morsels on the rug or tables was left untouched t However my overall experince is great so I can reccomend this inn. read more

Have stayed at Marriot properties before including the Ritz and JW properties but I have to give it to Marty and everyone else who works at the Springhill property in Thatcher. From check in to late check out everone has been fantastic. Had a problem with my key, problem solved. My wife needed to borrow a hammer briefly for a presentation she was doing in the morning, Marty made it happen. He was so pleasent and eager to please with dining suggestions, what is the best thing to order and neat things to look for. Highly commended. read more

Full suite with a little kitchenette, living room area & bedroom. Love the colors & decor. Looks like a big city hotel! it was beyond clean and the staff was incredibly friendly. The fitness room is nice and pool was very clean. Breakfast was meh, but what do you expect? They have a nicely stocked snack room and free wi-fi. We made reservations for one night to attend my mothers funeral. My whole family had made reservations, approx.10 rooms , after us, so we could all be together. When we arrived they told us they overbooked and we would have to go to the Comfort Inn down the street. How could this be. A very small town , to be overbooked, and they could not give us an answer as to why this happened. The manager, Mark Efros, was very cold towards us, and we explained why we were all here and that we booked before other people who arrived and got checked in after us. They were not helpful or nice and told us we had to leave. Needless to say we were all in disbelief of what had occurred. We have been staying at Marriotts for many, many years. This has stopped now. We will never stay with them again. read more

Excellent hotel! Recently it was completely redone and the rooms are even better than before. Very clean and cozy. All the rooms are family friendly suites that are comfortable whether you're alone or with some kiddos. There is a nice sitting room in each room and they really utilize the space well. The staff are all very helpful and ready to assist. Wonderful hotel, best in town by far. If you can get a room here, book it! They've been pretty full each time I've stayed here, and the last time I tried they were completely full. If you have to stay somewhere else, or if the price is much cheaper, the other option is the Best Western Desert Inn. It's hard to beat the SpringHill Suites though! My husband comes once a week to work for two days and uses this hotel on a regular basis. Normally it is very good and he speaks highly of it. The one time that I come with him, however, we get here in the very early evening and are told that "oh we're so sorry, but we overbooked and we don't have any rooms for you anymore." we told them that we had booked several days before hand and were told there was a good room, but somehow they really messed up and we had no rooms, and they acknowledged that we should have had a room. I have never known a hotel to overbook so much that they had to have quite a number of their customers shuffled off to a lesser hotel, which is what they did. They automatically booked us in an Inferior hotel a few miles down the road that was not close to his work anymore. Watch out! We were told by the front desk of the hotel we are now in that it is not the first time that Springhill Marriott has done that. They will bump you out if the miners fixing the broken mine nearby want the whole hotel. I asked the manager in the front desk At Marriott how it was determined who they bump out and she refused to answer the question, only repeatedly answering, "I did the best I could." She said that she sent us notification earlier on, which we finally found on my husband's texts, but it had only been sent 2 hours before check-in time and we were already traveling when it was sent and did not see it because you don't read your texts while you're driving. Poor service at a good hotel. Not welcoming. Badly done. This could happen to you. Lots of people have been treated this way read more
