This is my third time working with the Moreno Framing and Carpentry company. I needed  some repairs fixed under my kitchen sink. They did an outstanding job. Then, my roof was falling apart due to the high winds and I needed a  new roof. Mario and Fernardno both explained everything to me and even brought me all the roof titles to pick one. Lastly, my walk-in closet fell apart and they were able to see my vision and now it looks so good. I like how efficiently they carry their work to their customers. Do not hire this company, at best they are amateur weekend handymen. They can't skillfully complete the most basics of jobs. They won't work in order of their schedule, they come to work at about 9am and left on average at 3:00. From top to bottom this company and crew are unskilled, unprofessional, and unethical. When we brought up things that needed to be redone Mario (co-owner) would have an excuse for everything, even blaming the grout for his low standard quality work. In their own contract and on their website they represent themselves as a "General Contractor" company with an active CA GC license...they are only licensed for framing and carpentry they are in no way licensed GC!!! Their website also claims they have a fully certified team of professionals, couldn't be further from the truth. These guys couldn't even install a sink faucet or a door handle correctly without me telling them they put it on the wrong way. While we were negotiating the final pricing and different add-on projects Fernando text my fiancé Yolanda an all in price which he called "Dream home remodel" Which included zero additional dollars it regardless of which materials we picked out for the bathrooms, flooring, and countertops. After we had selected several different materials we were told that was over the individual budget price so we had to pay out of pocket for a second slab of countertop and also additional flooring that was caused due to improper project planning by Fernando. Throughout the entire process we unfortunately had to point out all of their basic installation errors that were obvious to the naked eye, the last week that this company was at our house Fernando told my fiancé in a text message that they would not be able to complete the project because they were "disheartened" at our low approval rating of their work. At the time they walked out they left several projects incomplete including one entire bathroom, the chimney area, and broken stucco around newly installed doors in the backyard. On Friday, August 5th Fernando, his father Mario and his crew Walked off the job site without saying anything and did not return. Up until that point we did not express In any way that we were firing them or that we did not want them to complete the house remodel, because we knew how long it would take to find another contractor that would be available immediately to fix all their mistakes. I text Fernando when I came back from a business trip asking him to please have his crew back to fix the stucco, he left me on "read"... days later I text him again asking if he'd at least be professional enough to reply... he wasn't, left me on "read" again. We were never late with any payments and when Fernando asked for an unscheduled payment he had it the same day. These guys walked off the job site left a huge disaster in my backyard including sharp metal framing screws and nails jagged copper piping. Being completely honest here although the posted portfolio pictures sold me on reaching out to EHS I was skeptical considering there were only 3 reviews total (all positive by the way). Something you should know EHS is just starting up their family owned business & I'm so glad I trusted them with my project. This explains the reviews. However, don't let that discourage you. Mario has years of experience. His son Fernando is taking care of the admin part of the business. The communication was above & beyond. They are very polite. So glad we found Moreno Framing. Fernando came out the same day I contacted them to give us a quote for our patio job. The quote was very reasonable and they did the job just a few days later. Fernando was amazing - great communication. We had gotten other quotes which told us we would have to replace the entire patio. I was a bit disappointed and felt taken advantage of. They did not understand my request for the job. I wanted a inclosure build and it was not inclosed. It needed a door. It was build but they did not use pressure treated wood. It was built using 2/3 wood instead up 2/4. I ask asked where was the door? I tried reaching out and was told that it would be no time soon when they could put a door on. Which wasn't a professional response. My husband and I completed the job. Mario did a wonderful job with repairing our wall around our electrical breaker box. It needed patching all around as the new box installed by our electrician was significantly smaller than the original. Mario left our wall looking like new. We also had him repair and patch a wall in our garage. It definitely needed attention and he even did a touch up over a doorway in the garage as well. Communication prior to coming to our home was great and prices are certainly fair. Where do I start? We pride ourselves on supporting family owned businesses so we meet with Mario and Fernando father and son team. They appeared very knowledgeable taking measurements, discussing the plan. We received a quote for an all in price for "Our Dream Remodel" and that we had the ability to select whatever we wanted as far as materials with no out of pocket cost. We were told they had a huge crew that would be here full time and get this job done professionally and quickly, They were supposed to come in here with professionals in every task to get my house done professionally. The nightmare started on May 10 with a expected end date of June 28. We selected the flooring and vanities on or around day 1 which were both out of stock by the time they went to purchase the items. They did hire a "professional" cabinet guy who did a crappy job and as of today my cabinets are not completed. A base was required on my island and I should have known then in the first week when Mario told me I left a receipt for the materials on the counter for your $20 we paid them thousands for the the cabinet install and he wanted me to pay $20 out of pocket. Well the dream nightmare just went on and on with problem after problem tasks as simple as painting had major issues. We purchased all the bathroom hardware from Kohlers signature store in Irvine if you know you know how expensive it all is and the one bathroom they did do was leaking their solution are in the pics and video. Long long story short they could not finish the job and left Yesterday July 12 with many fixes undone and a whole bathroom not touched. One excuse after another with absolutely no accountability. Please see the pics below. I would not recommend this company to paint your home let alone anything harder then that. They arrive on time at 8 take their lunch which of course Is a must and leave at 3ish and do not work weekends not even in crunch time, there is Zero sense of urgency. Don't call the business line in the evenings or weekends cause you won't get any answer or response. There are MAJOR problems with their work that we will need to go back and hire professionals to fix. read more
