Unfortunately hubby got a ticket and we had to come to clear it up. I was already dreading it due to the poor reviews. Moreno valley court house looks like a rundown DMV. The security are friendly and helpful. The employees here were all very friendly. The traffic department was closed on the day we went which was the due date but the lady working in a different department. Said she noted the account and that we could come back on Tuesday with no penalty. We came back to take care of the ticket and the young lady who helped us. Helped us to set up a trail date to clear the ticket as it was a fix it ticket. To our surprise it wasn't that bad. It's just that people get tickets and hate it lol So no wonder for the bad reviews but it's not the courts fault. So they get 5 star's for working fast, being friendly, and helpful. read more

It's an ugly and outdated building, and the "self-help" center is almost no help... You can feel the tension in the air here. A miserable place. Civil procedure should be called social class dispute resolution; this would be more transparent because the litigant with more money is most likely going to prevail in their case at this court (and probably all other courts in California). Get there early and be prepared. Attend hearings and trials of cases similar to your hearing or trial. Good luck. read more

It's slow and understaffed the officer at the front desk is very kind and joke full. The people at the windows are very rude, and speak very loudly as if they were on a power trip behind that window. I had to wait another hour for a box not checked in that could've easily been resolved in the counter I was told to take a number and wait my turn. I had to come to the clerks office to file a small claims suit against a previous landlord, the security officer at the front was extremely kind and helpful. Traffic ticket. If I could I would give no stars, this court issued me warrant after warrant every five days as a computer error while I waited for my simple traffic ticket court date. I called every week and they would tell me it's squashed. I asked the clerk and the judge to please remove these and the refused telling me to look into legal advise on how to remove them. All traffic violations were dropped but now my clean record is just covered with warrants I did not deserve. No one cares and is leaving me with a ruined record till I pay a lawyer to go appeal them in front of a judge. read more

These courts make money hand over fist charging ridiculous amounts of money to unfortunate people. I see why lawyers have taken to fighting traffic tickets. There's money to be made. It's also sad how they make it difficult to speak to someone on the phone but the options to pay money are readily available. So I received a BS citation for inadvertently purchasing the wrong Metrolink ticket (Cal. PC 640(c)(2)). Fortunately, after wasting 3 days of my life, the officer failed to show up and the case was dismissed. Despite the positive outcome (which would have set me back $1100), I am still highly critical of this 'court.' I received the ticket several months ago. I realized that I was supposed to 'appear' by the end of August. Years ago I had received a fare evasion ticket on the MetroRail before, so I called in (a chore in itself) to confirm that as long as I appeared before the date (which is the deadline), I could address the ticket. I falsely assumed everything could be handled in 1 day. WRONG! This court preys on people valuing their time more than their willingness to fight an unfair ticket. I went several days before I was required to appear. Unlike the more seamless and efficient system in Downtown LA, I had to first see a f*cking dimwit 'clerk.' This flamboyant asshole had a terrible attitude. I presented my ticket and he states that'll be $1100. I politely informed him that I was not going to be paying anything. His reply, with contempt, "Well, (snarl) what can I do, then?" Sorry, my refusal to pay an egregious ticket has ruined your day, sir. I forgot how difficult it must be to sit in an air-conditioned room all day and act as a glorified cashier. Do not worry about me having to take a day out of my life to see your ugl'ass face just to get another appointment. I left with an appointment for the following week to see a judge that can do more than take my money. When I showed up at 1 PM, of course, MV2 was closed so everyone that was there had to wait until well past 1:30 PM. Clearly, they have no consideration for our time since we are all CRIMINALS anyway. Once we are allowed into the room, we watch this video detailing our 'rights.' Finally, this man in a black robe appears (I do not think they are real judges). He was senile and incompetent--he did not even know the law for some of the cases that were called. When he called mine, he literally said, "I guess we will find out what that is at trial." Lol, like wtf?! He only asked whether we defendants were pleading guilty or not guilty. Most claimed to be not guilty. Those that submitted, seemed to get off with reduced fees. I got ANOTHER court date, a little over a month later. I show up for my trial, but the officer was not there. Not only that, they had us wait (defendants needed to report at 8 AM) 40 minutes for the 5 pigs to show up. Those smug bastards leisurely strolled in like they were early. UGH! Finally, us defendants were called in. The cases of any officers that failed to show up were dismissed. There were 11 'defendants' and only 5 officers--one of which the defendant did not show up. I think the officer that wrote my ticket was not willing to make the 2 hour drive from LA County or maybe his boss would not permit him to come to a completely different county for a stupid Metrolink ticket. Oh well, my luck. The case should have been dismissed way before I wasted 3 days of my life. Each time you go to court in MV2, they will have you sitting there like a fool. The fake judges were ok, but I seriously hope more people challenge these ridiculous quota tickets the pigs like to give out at the end of the month. FIGHT THE POWER! We shouldn't be paying for California's financial woes. read more

For those applying for Social Security. If your applying and you had work gaps in between. You will be told that you forfeit your income earned credits! I don't know how this is possible that you forfeit work credit histories because Social Security has no literature or Law that states you lose credits. Was told by an officer at the entrance "don't ask any questions" before he threatened to arrest me (for asking a very simple and respectful question). So, take his advice and don't ask questions! Instead, make demands and orders as customers should. However, there is not a real authority in sight until you get to the back of the building / front of the line. Until then, it's all ignorance while you wait with angry "customers" who are treated like criminals. Know your rights, what you need, and try to be patient. Damn...Had to go here yesterday to set up a payment plan on a ticket that I had gotten in Jurupa Valley. LOOOOOOOOOONG line...so expect to wait. I got there at 8:20am and was there till 10:45am....people standing in line all pissed off and telling their stories about how they got pulled over, and how the cop wouldn't write them a fix it ticket and made it non-correctable. Extremely rude sherriffs standing at the entrance...IF YOU HAVE A BELT REGARDLESS IF IT HAS METAL OR NOT...YOU HAVE TO TAKE IT OFF!! From reading people's reviews it is apparent that they do not understand what the function of the courts are. They are a neutral party to any case. The clerk's are there to file the forms you bring to the window. They do not give legal advice, offer opinion outcomes or tell you what you should do. They are there to file only. If they gave you advice then everyone should get advice. They are the neutral party in any case allowing fairness to all. I asked for help and they offered the self help FREE of charge. Use it and stop complaining. I did and a paralegal assisted me with forms I needed to stay in my home. I also went to the website and read it for alot of other helpful information. read more

The clerk was very nice and professional. There was no wait and i arrived about 30 mins prior to closing. All the other clerks also seemed nice and the clerk that assisted me answered all my questions. Definitely a lot nicer here than at the Riverside courthouse. For what it is and as it looks it was a decent experience. One clerk gave me info to help. Came back the same hour with the stuff she told me to do. The next person was more experienced and had a better plan to help me out without leaving the courthouse. Moreno Valley Traffic ticket. I showed up 20 minutes early, and went inside the Court to see the Traffic Judge. I was then notified to go to the Traffic Clerks office, where I stand in line, get a number and patiently wait. When I am called to Traffic window #9, I am greeted by a hostile, disrespectful, and condescending excuse of a person named Maria. She is the Traffic Clerk who works at window #9. She repeatedly refused to assist me with my pending ticket, and repeatedly refused to identify herself, getting up, ignoring me, and walking away from her window for several minutes at a time, on three different occasions. Maria is disrespectful, condescending, and is a disservice to our community. MARIA is a poor excuse of a Traffic Clerk, most Clerks are professional, respectful, and treat others fairly. Not Maria. For anybody that is still reading this, the Presiding Judge for Riverside County is Honorable Becky Dugan, the California Chief Justice is Honorable Tani Cantil Sakauye. First name is to the Judge that oversees/supervises the courts within Riverside County, second name is to the Judge who oversees the Commission of Judicial Performance in the State of California. The Commission oversees the Judicial Performance of Judges in the State of California, and I would send a letter to the Commission just in case the Presiding Judge for Riverside County conveniently disregards any complaints against one of their Traffic Clerks. All complaints need to be written, in legal format, with a date, a legal name, citation/Case number, and a return address. It's too bad that many of us will stand in line to complain, but will not draft a written complaint or grievance against a Traffic Clerk or court employee that has acted disrespectfully. Horrible system, I got my 1st ticket ever in my life driving almost 20 years. I was trying to fight it and forget it. Temporary judge yesterday gave everyone the plea of guilty. I go online to make a payment not only are the fees ridiculous but they charge another 5.95 processing fee. On top of 35.00 for making payment arrangements. Whatever happen to hardships. Rude people inside besides the greeter who is very nice. Such a waste of time going in there to talk to a judge. I heard Moreno Valley court is not giving anyone a break because they need a new court house. So don't bother fighting your ticket. read more

I recently received a traffic ticket for being in the carpool lane and did not have my proof of insurance on me at the time of the ticket. I came to this courthouse by myself not knowing where to go or anything, and the security guards are polite and not frightening. You get your ticket at the machines on the left and wait for a clerk. My first visit to the clerk I came in when they first opened and there was a lady going around the seats asking people about their tickets and giving them advice on what to do and where to go. I was advised to ask to see a judge to get my ticket reduced to get the proof of insurance fee waived. There is a $25 fee to waive this when you set your appointment to go see the judge. The judge I was assigned was Eric V. Isaac, he is not a mean cold judge, he is very fair and does not like his time being wasted. All in all I came out of court relieved and not annoyed or upset or crying cause everyone is pretty friendly. After seeing the judge I pleaded guilty and asked for community service, after seeing a judge I was directed to see a clerk to apply to community service and pay a one time $35 fee and the $25 correctable fee for proof of insurance. I came here 2 times and the visit is not as bad as it seems out to be, it does take time and patience waiting. I honestly expected myself to be lost and intimidated by everyone here, but it wasn't as bad as I assumed it to be. read more

What a Joke!! I was issued a citation by the CHP in Riverside and plead not guilty. I had to pay the fine of $280 BEFORE the trial! GUILTY til proven INNOCENT! I then have to go to trial in Corona and the judge rules in my favor. Well, the judge ordered my fine money to be refunded and.......it's now been over 2 weeks and the Moreno Valley Court has yet to send me my check!!! The worst part is when I went to see the clerk, there is only 1 traffic clerk and the wait was 4-6 hours!!!! I was told it's that way every day, 5 days a week! Where the hell is our tax money, the fine money etc? As taxpaying citizens we deserve much better than this type of piss poor service! read more

Contrary to the other negative reviews, I have to say that I had a very great day at this courthouse. I had to go in and observe a small claims trial for my college business law class and I was able to get all the information I needed. When I arrived, I wasn't sure where to go but there was a very kind security officer that directed me to go to the right courtroom. Once I arrived to the small claims building, I was greeted by the next set of security officers. I asked them many, many, many questions and they were very friendly and patient with me. After I had observed 22 small claims cases, the Commissioner on duty greeted me and asked me why I was there. When I answered him, he and a lawyer were so kind and began giving great advice and tips. It truly depends under what circumstances you are going to court for and that is what will determine how your experience goes. read more

What a great experience when having to take care of a problem! I was greeted by happy,kind, and helpful security who gave me instructions. After logging into their computer I was given a ticket number to wait my turn. They called me in less than 5 minutes. Next I was helped by Olivia. I explained my difficult circumstances that would put a stop to my daughters pre paid birthday trip to Texas. She was very patient and helpful!! She tried to figure a way around my problem. Just when we almost gave up, she left to speak privately with the judge and they both agreed to change my hearing date to the day before my flight which, was a day and a half later, to remove a traffic bench warrant that was put on my record because I missed my hearing date while recovering from my 4th lumbar surgery. I shouldn't have been in this situation but the officer filled out my ticket that I had been driving a bus. Even though the ticket showed my Ford expedition on it with disability placards. That kept me from being able to pay it and keep it off my record. What a mess!! But thanks to Olivia, I will be done with this problem and flying to Texas asap!!! THANK YOU OLIVIA AND JUDGE!!!! I was sued in small claims court at the Moreno Valley Courthouse- I was frankly very worried before my court date after reading all the crazy reviews. I was very impressed with how organized the day was. The judge was fair, compassionate, and pleasant. They had a team of professional mediators that met with the parties to attempt resolution before appearing before the judge. The mediator I met with was a bit condescending and took sides early on, but still convinced the suing party that his suit was total BS. If you're being sued at this court, it's not as bad as you may think! read more

Well if u have an issue especially to sue somebody dont use the courts , no matter what theyll always side with the businesses its better to get your money back yourself someway or another figure it out , obviously there was bias going on because the other party was a business , just know judges arent always right , i had the proof my car got messed up purposely and a witness but still lost i got a letter lost i no faith in the court system smh i thought judges were neutral sadly there not especially if your not a business and your suing so dont waste your money here or time because its gonna take 2 months for your case to even be heard by then u can just get your money back yourself , unfortunately for me after the court i got over it but if i wouldve known before i wouldve got my money back myself shit took so long to hear my case i was over the whole situation, but anyways instead of using the courts heres some tips if your dealing with a private seller or person whos providing services make sure you know were they stay take a pic of there i.d and verify they live at the address on there i.d and by getting a refrence only deal with local people and/or in state people that are not far from u , literally where u can just drive to them within a hour and a half or less , if they screw up or scam u go to them and demand your money back , if they dont give u your money back dont use the courts and waste months and waste time instead just beat em up and get your money back that way , i dont care what they say they gave u a contract as is blah blah blah if you know what they did was wrong beat em up and get your money back also if the place is a regular business and they screw you over demand your money back if they dont give it back just beat em up go in the cash register and get your money back thats the easiest way to do it , im not gonna do that though now cause im over it but next time if i get scammed i will because i learned my lesson and how shady the courts are you cant do things the legal way anymore , we all learn someday read more
