Moretti's is a quaint little spot just off I-85 in Greenville, South Carolina. My mom and I stopped in on a Friday around 3 p.m., and honestly I wasn't that impressed. I've heard the place has been under new ownership within the past year, and it definitely felt like it might still be going through some growing pains. The restaurant wasn't busy at all except for a few regulars at the bar. It seemed like the regulars were getting plenty of attention, but service for us felt a little slower and less attentive. I ordered a personal pizza -- the Italian Flag -- and it took at least 30 minutes to come out, which felt pretty long considering we were basically the only people seated outside the bar area. It honestly made me wonder if the order might have been forgotten at some point. That said, the pizza itself was pretty good once it arrived. The flavors were solid, though I think it could have been a bit better overall. Our waitress was also very nice and friendly, which helped the experience. Overall, it was an alright visit, but the long wait time made me less enthusiastic about the place. Hopefully things improve as the new ownership settles in. read more

Moretti's has been under new ownership for the last 8 months so I thought I'd give it a try. All around great experience. If a sports bar and a family restaurant got married, that's Moretti's. At the suggestion of my server I tried the beef on weck and it was out of this world. Fresh, grilled Kaiser roll with seasonings and melted butter, juicy beef, tasty jus and horseradish sauce. The onion rings were lightly battered, crispy and stayed intact when gobbling them down. Onion rings can be delish or just meh and these were def five stars. There is an entire wall of huge televisions on one wall and many other tvs throughout. There's even one in the men's room! read more

Their food is good, however I asked for a special pizza and they would not make it. The attendant was nice and asked the owner. I was also nice to the attendant. The owner came to the register and told me in no uncertain terms they would not modify their pizzas. Ok, so I left and the owner comes out to the car and tells me never to come back again! Food was pretty good. Server had the whole half of the restaurant and was terrible but not her fault. Manager is very friendly, the server forgot to add an item we ordered and they brought it out quickly. Went to Moretti's last night to watch the Bills on MNF. Great tv's, mozzarella sticks and atmosphere...BUT I had two Tito's water and a splash of cran... can u imagine... I was charged $2 extra for the cran??? $21.37 for two small cocktails... then to top it off, around 8:50p our waiter came to our table to announce that the restaurant would be closing at 9p. It wasn't even halftime! They claim to be a Bills Backer bar and didn't even allow us to watch the complete game!!! If I'm ever in the Greenville area for another Bills game, I'll definitely choose a different Bills Backer Bar; one that will stay open for a complete game. Go Bills! read more

Something has happened to Moretti's! This was the place where we would take family when they came to visit. Authentic Italian; plenty of homemade tasting food, great service and always left with a smile. We were always guaranteed a great experience BTW, the best kept secret in Greenville was their wings! I don't know what has happened! The service is very slow! The table beside us was complaining about them not having what they ordered. Should have been a red flag. They didn't "prepare enough " of what we wanted. So we just ordered a pizza which took over an hour to get! It feels like a bar that offers "bar food" to keep their liquor license. No more of the atmosphere of the New Yorkers that wanted to bring the best of the north to Greenville. Moretti's, please go back to the way you used to operate. Otherwise, another Greenville icon won't be around much longer. read more

The pizza has clearly changed over the past few years for the worse. I asked the gentleman at the desk and he got defensive about it for absolutely no reason. He offered to give me the pizza for free and then accused me of trying to guilt him into a free pizza. Neither is true. I was very clear that I didn't want anything for free, just an understanding that the pizza was different. The manager came out and confirmed my observation and the employee disgustedly walked away. Since Peter and Tina sold their restaurantt, it's not the same. I ordered a fish sandwich, onion rings and cole slaw. The fish batter is supposed to be hot and crispy to bite into it, it was soggy, the bun was stale, I didn't eat it, the cole slaw instead of being ice cold was warm. The onion rings were okay. Have been customers at this restaurant for 20 years. Had a very disturbing event happen to us recently. The new owner is a very mean man and got very angry at us when we complained about the service. We ordered meals that were not what we wanted and my husband was still waiting for his pizza 10 minutes after we had received ours. he called the police on us and told us to leave and claimed my husband was drunk when he only had one beer! He made my granddaughter cry as she was scared at him yelling at my husband. I will never go back here again. Too bad it was a nice place for dinner but is now ruined by an unprofessional owner who does not know how to run a business and does not care about his customers. He even told us he doesn't care! Let me start, I haven't ate there in years. I order the Famous buffalo fish!! BS!! They didn't have slaw, and I had to ask for some and they tell me they don't have any, I should have been told. I had a pretty poor experience with Moretti's. It's possible this was just a bad day, but I wanted to share. I ordered delivery through Bite Squad. The driver texted me to let me know that it would be late because they hadn't even started making the food until she arrived. Once the food was delivered, I was quite disappointed to see that the "ziti loaded with mozzarella" did not contain any cheese at all and was seemingly jar tomato sauce. It was very bland and disappointing - I would have expected that to be a child's meal, not a $14 pasta dish. It also did not come with bread. It only came with the garlic bread I ordered separately. My husband ordered a steak calzone which seemingly had Frank's hot sauce in it. It was extremely runny which make the dough soggy and difficult to eat. Overall it was a very disappointing experience. I've never had a bad pasta meal until this. I will not be eating here again. read more

I ordered the regular on the menu special of 10.wings- extra crispy (garlic parmesan) and one topping pizza. Cost is $23 This was take out and I only quickly looked ...but when I got home the wings were mild buffalo flavored NOT garlic parmesan and the blue cheese side dipping was two large chunks of blue cheese little sauce . The pizza was mushroom it was completely inconsistent crust and base. 1/2 thick and1/2 thin and in my opinion .... sloppyily made Yes I ate some because I was hungry but overall disappointed 2 stars because the wings they did give me were decent You can do better! read more

I said I wouldn't go back after I was over charged on my CC on a take out order but thought ..I want a chicken finger pizza (I am from Buffalo) and I was so disappointed! We were so excited to learn that Moretti's served Beef on Weck. We ordered immediately ... 1 Beef on Weck, Buffalo wings and a small salad all to be shared by 2 of us. Everything arrived very quickly. I cut the sandwich in half and tasted a little piece of the beef and was greatly disappointed the minute it hit my mouth. The meat was gray in color, it was not fresh and had been reheated. The au jus had no flavor whatsoever. Did not look like the pictures that were shown. Just brown and watery! The salad was just ok as the lettuce had brown spots. Definitely not fresh. I will say the wings were much better than the other 2 items. Our server was very nice. How is it that I was born in NY, lived for 30+ years in the heart of awesome pizza country (Boston, NY and NJ), that this is a place that I come to ALL THE TIME because it has the best pie of its kind I've ever eaten and which my Brother (a very picky man from NJ who scoffs at all but the best pizza) insists we visit every time he visits me in Greenville...and yet I've never reviewed it??!!?? My apologies pizza lovers. I've been remiss in not lavishing praise on Moretti's. I've never had anything but pizza here and for good reason. WHY TAKE THE CHANCE? My life expectancy is probably only another 20 years and I don't want to waste one opportunity to eat The Moretti's Famous pie. Don't worry about the price...high teens...because you won't (can't!) regret pounding the amazing slices of the Famous. Everything is perfect. The sauce is amazingly rich with flavor, the cheese is plentiful and anything but typical, the crust perfect and the pepperoni...now the peps are truly the absolute best. How to tell a great pepperoni?...well, they are plentiful, roughly the size of a quarter (big pepp is usually cheap prop) and, when cooked it forms into beautiful little grease pots full of oily goodness. If you don't like this pizza, you don't know good pizza. Nuff said. I've seen some yelpers complaining about the small "probably cheap" pepperonis. Well, as a native NYer, I can tell you that the pepps are NOT cheap and are of the highest quality! A good pepperoni curls up on the edges when baked and ends up looking like a cup...and the more grease in that cup, the more flavor. Eat up yelpers!! read more

Mediocre food and awful service. We called to place a take out order and when we arrived 2 meals were incorrect and had to be re-made while waiting. Then, after arriving home we realized that THREE meals were missing! We called to ask if they could be delivered since we paid for them but they wouldn't deliver and said we could come back in for a refund since they couldn't do that over the phone. So we were out 3 people's meals and now inconvenienced because we had to go back to get our money. When we arrived I also pointed out that the ziti with meatballs we ordered had ONE medium size meatball and reminded them of the original mess up on the order. The manager didn't even acknowledge either of those comments and just gave us cash back for the meals we didn't receive. Horrible customer service. Haven't been in a while but stopped in for beef on a wek and chicken parmesan sub. Daughter enjoyed the sub but the beef on a wek was absolutely inedible. The role was too salty and apparently other customers had already complained but they still served it. Tater tots were burnt. I returned the meal and they still tried to charge us for it. It's sad to see what this place has become. Used to be a favorite local restaurant. We absolutely love the bartenders, who give excellent service. But when food consistently takes 45 min + to come out, you do something to fix the problem. Nothing has been done, it's only gotten worse. Can't remember the last time our order has actually come out correct, or god forbid; together. I feel for the employees who have to keep a smile on their face when it's not their fault. Whatever is going on in that kitchen is absolutely pathetic. And this is coming from someone who has worked in the restaurant industry for 10+ years. Great local restuarant and bar. Awesome place for wings. The pizza is a little greasy. Calzones are probably in the Top 5 in Greenville. And no one makes better spaghetti and meatballs. Full bar. Cold beer. Fresh/hot food. You gotta try this place at least 5 or 6 times. But don't go there if you're in a rush. But The pizza is super blah, just an ok pizza dough bland and a bit soggy Pepperoni was awful, probably the cheapest tasting pepperoni you are gonna find on a pizza that isnt in the frozen section of the grocery store.
