Cannelloni , cheese stuffed horns in Alfredo sauce
Blake M.

Went here for a date night and then returned soon after for my bday dinner. This place is great for all occasions! The ambiance is more chill and subtle lighting, the guests seem more intimate and it's not overly noisy. The food is all great most entrees start off with a nice salad generously topped with all kinds of ingredients like beets, beans, cheese and more, and the vinaigrette is amazing! It's accompanied by some fresh baked garlic knots that are so soft and flavorful. Then the entrees do not disappoint with made to order sauces, I've tried both fettuccini Alfredo and the cannelloni both were pretty good but my favorite is the fettuccini for sure! And my date got the ravioli with meat sauce and enjoyed it as well. The service is always top notch, you can tell they really care and want you to have a great experience and keep coming back. Management usually checks in or as you're leaving, truly great knowing the whole restaurant cares about each table! Amazing food, great staff, can't wait to go back! Check them out when you want Italian, definitely a favorite in Greenville for me!

My favorite Italian spot in Greenville/Spatanburg so far! I love that the salad is served family style and their house vinaigrette is perfect. The warm garlic rolls are to die for! We've eaten here a few times and they're always busy. Obviously um not the only one who loves them. Their staff is really friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I don't have a photo from the last time we went when my husband had a steak that he said could beat most "steakhouses". I have ohotos of the lasagna with all the gooey cheese and fried calamari which was delicious and perfectly fried. Not overcooked rubber bands like a lot of places. If you want good Italian food, here's your spot!

Very comforting family style atmosphere where you can dress up or down. The wait staff were very friendly and attentive. Baked ziti and buttery rolls hit the spot.

Tortellaci - onion overload, not worth the price

What a massive disappointed experience. I was really looking forward to this place but what a huge let down. Looking at past reviews I was drawn to the tortellini and the waiter Mike said he recommended it. I chose between the Saltimbocca or the shrimp and scallop pasta for this dish. The dish had onions, red peppers, mushrooms, and roasted red peppers and I asked not to have Red Peppers but as the dish came out it was overloaded with onions with a few tortellini. The sauce was very thick and it tasted terrible. Everything bit was more onions than pasta. When I was asked by the general manager how everything was, I showed him the bowl full of onions and he said he could see it was heavily made with vegetables, he didn't offer anything as a substitute and when I got the bill, there was no reduction of costs and they never apologized for the dish. The final issue that made the entire experience horrible was that the server Mike took forever to prepare my bill and then take it after I was ready to pay. I was never asked for another beer so I will not return. What a shame.

MASSIVE "THANK YOU" to the owner of Portofino's Italian Restaurant, Brett Maynard, for his support and generosity. He worked so well within our budget to provide us with a delicious and affordable meal that met the RHE Girls' Golf Team's needs. We have ordered from Portofino's for our banquet over the last several years because they are the BEST in Greenville!!! If you've never been there, you must experience it for yourself! On a personal note, my family and I love Portofino's for their warm ambiance, spectacular food and drinks, and their impeccable service!

Let me start with the service. It was AMAZING. Our server Michelle was the best. She had great energy, truly liked the food, made great suggestions (she even let me try the Alfredo sauce when I was on the fence - ended up going for it!) and she checked on us often. The restaurant was a full house and people kept coming. It did seem to be a slightly older crowd but they were still lively and cool.

We took our time settling in and started with the mozzarella and focaccia (so good!) and the meatball--because you can't visit an Italian place without the essentials. For our mains, we ordered the short rib ragu and the verde lasagna. The lasagna was especially memorable--you could really taste the fresh spinach, which gave it a light, refreshing flavor. To top it all off, the wonderful Mr. Flannegan came out to sing "Happy Birthday" and brought their amazing cannoli. Such a fun and memorable touch to an already fantastic meal!

Dined at DeMarco's Italian and had a bit of a mixed experience overall…read more Starting with the positives. The restaurant itself is beautiful. It was very clean, and the atmosphere is one of its strongest assets. We sat outside overlooking Fluor Field, which made for a really enjoyable setting. The outdoor patio was comfortable, and the new awnings provided great shade, making it easy to relax even in the sun. Service was excellent from start to finish. Attentive, and professional. No complaints there at all. For drinks, I ordered a carajillo, which was very well done. The food is where things started to fall short. We began with the long hot stuffed peppers. The dish only comes with two peppers, so the portion felt a bit small. The sausage itself was decent, but it was severely lacking seasoning, and the sauce didn't add much to elevate it. The verde lasagna followed a similar trend. The pasta itself was clearly good quality, but the overall dish was underwhelming and lacking depth of flavor. The scallop dish was the best of what we tried. The scallops were cooked perfectly, the asparagus was fresh, and the risotto had a good texture. Unfortunately, even here, the dish still felt like it was missing seasoning and bold flavor, which was a recurring theme throughout the meal. Given the upscale setting and prime location, expectations are understandably higher and so are the prices. That said, the portion sizes and overall flavor didn't quite justify the cost in my opinion. Overall, a great location with excellent service and ambiance, but the food needs more seasoning and depth to truly match the setting and price point.

The host let us know they would hold our leftovers and we could pick them up after the show -- we didn't end up having any, but what a great service! Will definitely keep that in mind for the future. The staff kept our deadline in mind so we got to the show in plenty of time. So many amazing food and drink options, it was hard to choose. The wine and cocktail lists are enough to give you options but not overwhelming. Food has something for everyone, all Italian options. We tried the focaccia with ricotta and Caesar salad for starters (not pictured, we were so hungry!), then the agnolotti and pansotti pasta dishes. I will be dreaming about the pansotti. The agnolotti was good, although a bit sweet for me and a small portion size compared to everything else we had. A friend ordered the sausage pizza and it was a generous personal portion big enough to share. For dessert, the affogato. Ice cream could have had more vanilla for me, but still a delicious end to a scrumptious meal. Ambiance reminds me of a sunny day in Italy: lots of blues and whites, tile, and wood surfaces. Snappy casual dress code recommended. Table, booth, bar, and outside seating available. Restrooms are across the entrance and inside the hotel. No-step entrance with a roundabout drop off option, and accessible seating available. Parking available on the street and in nearby parking garages.

Unfortunately the salad came out AFTER the pizza...approximately 10 minutes later. Obviously this is odd...well at least to me We even got dessert and split a coffee. The dessert was good ..l it was coconut strawberry flan like dessert. It was okay except for "cinnamon toast " like crunchy items and the description of "macerated strawberries " . (Which sounds gross from the medical definition of "macerated"-- I digress). Overall both coffee and dessert were good..but again the timing was off. Coffee came out way too early or the dessert came out way too late--as we think it's nice to have something sweet to accompany your coffee. Again timing was off and not just a little... but enough to say ... how did this item get here so early( or late). Anyways....food and service was g good....timing was off. Just an FYI
