Such a lovely way to spend the evening after dropping by Gilroy to pickup cat food, Little Bean's Cat Cafe so we can touch base w/ Levi regarding Myla's adoption, dinner, and dessert here. I came here on a Sunday night and it wasn't too busy. I got the horchata and butter pecan scoops and they were delicious! It was $9 for the two scoops but worth it in my opinion since the scoops were large and the ice cream was creamy, flavorful, and delicious. No seating indoors but lots of outdoor space. When it was our turn, the girl working the counter was super friendly. No frills. No fuss. But also no seating inside. I ordered a mini of a flavor that I had enjoyed from Marianne's in the past. However, this time the ice cream wasn't as smooth and creamy and I had remembered. We used to love the ice cream shop that was in this location previously. Ever since it's been "Morgan Hill Creamery" it's been a major disappointment. We came shortly after they had first opened, and the toppings were stale. We didn't come back until yesterday and I was shocked with how expensive the prices were, and how little ice cream you get (see photo). To make matters worse, the person serving the ice cream was wearing gloves that looked like they had been worn for hours. Various ice cream and food debris on them. Eew. Wow, such great flavors and fantastic portions. I actually had a hard time finishing my double cone but you know I got to the bottom of it! They proudly serve Marianne's ice cream which is kinda an institution in these parts. What an amazing place to get a high quality cone that really represents the area well. Morgan Hill is fortunate to have these smaller companies available and establishing their business in the heart of the town. Don't stop supporting smaller and local businesses if you have the budget for it. Also, they seem to employ a lot of younger folks that really were professional and respectful on the customer service end. I was impressed by their demeanor and I love that they are taking some enjoyment out of serving ice cream. I was trying to have dessert after a nice dinner and stumbled upon the morgan hill creamery. I was utterly disappointed when my first bite of what was supposed to be a chocolate chip cookie sandwich with vanilla ice cream, tasted like it had been vaped on. it tasted like watermelon sherbert, after taking a second bite but from the other side the flavor had now changed to mint and chip. also the menu had described it as being in between two warm cookies. they were infact rock hard. clearly this place does not properly clean their scooping utensils, and cuts corners. do better! read more

We gave this place a second try. It's so expensive. I don't think the ice cream is anything special. I got the middle size cup $7. Husband wanted a waffle cone they were out so he got the like mass produced looking waffle cone, not the kiddie/sugar cone. It came with less ice cream than I got in my cup and was $9. I also got handed the messiest ice cream cup ever. They wear gloves, but I'd rather they just washed their hands and skipped the gloves. Gloves don't mean anything if they're disgusting. The flavor choices are pretty slim. I was thinking a milk shake or a Sunday but the only thing showing on their menu was cups/cones. MH has so many just mediocre ice cream places now. I am visiting from out of town and decided to stop by the Morgan Hill creamery. Upon me entering I was greeted by Belle who was incredibly kind and helped to answer all my needs. What I like about the creamery is that it's signifies what ice cream creams have nuts in it which is incredibly helpful given the fact I'm severely allergic. This place is poppin on a Friday evening in late January! Despite no seating in the inside, there was a steady stream of customers and I can see why. They have the classics and creative flavors like snickerdoodle cookie dough (which my kid loved). They also had some gelato and sorbet flavors that were non dairy but I was too full from dinner. I really wanted to like this place, the little cow is so adorable and inviting, I was sure I would love it, welp it was just ok. There was no system to order, a few of us that walked in weren't sure where the line ended or started or how to order so we winged it, being it was a hot day there were a few of us in there. I didn't see any flavors listed on a board so I made sure my son and husband stayed in the imaginary line and we took turns walking around people trying to see the flavors. I landed on heavenly which was not, it was supposed to be fudge brownie and peanut butter and it was more vanilla which chunks of something but not super flavorful, I'm glad I asked for fudge otherwise it would have been well... vanilla. They got shakes which they said were shakes lol but it didn't wow us however, it's not awful, but not detrimental if we skip it or are hot and craving ice cream may try to find something else. The young ladies were nice our gal was friendly and had good service. Parking is busy but lots of spots opened up if not there's a lot at the end of the street. read more

This place is awful. I came here on a Saturday afternoon and there was only one party in front of me. There were two people working, but one of them insisted on fixing blenders versus helping me. Great Ice cream, Marianne's never disappoints. The Creamery allows tastings, so you can try before buying. I was trilled to see Marianne's ice cream in Morgan Hill but overall I wasn't trilled by Morgan Hill Creamery. Too bad, they have a great product and a nice location. Maybe they can improve? My first time here and I ordered a hot fudge sundae, which was $14. After tax and tip the hit was $18.12. They only have one size, two big scoops, a topping and whip cream. It was a nice very large sundae. Only allowing for one size sundae may be a much for some people who may not want a big sundae or care to spend $18 on it. For comparison, a double scoop ice cream in a cut at the real Marianne's on Ocean in Santa Cruz is $7.75 + tax & tip. I was very disappointed as the gal told me they have hot fudge but what was put on was really just a heated chocolate sauce as it was runny and very light. It was about 2 tablespoons worth. You'd think for $18, she could have done a better job but oh well. Next time, don't tip until after you get your sundae. The menu at the Creamery did not specify they had hot fudge, just chocolate so I'm guessing this gal working did not know what hot fudge is. She was very nice so I did not complain. But in the future, I would ask them to prove they have hot fudge and I would ask for them to not skimp, since the sundae is quite pricey and sauce really is not. Finally, no nuts or cherry on top. Who makes a sundae without a cherry on top? Even McDonalds gives you nuts, well when their ice cream makers work. There is a nice area outside to sit and enjoy your ice cream and the store is dog friendly you can bring Fiddo. read more
