I just can't say enough good things about my experience. The staff are all very caring, upbeat and have a passion for helping others. It was originally planned for me to do in patient rehabilitation for 1 to 2 weeks post surgery. However, with the help of ALL staff I will be leaving tomorrow with the complete ability to handle all things when I go home. The rooms are huge and very luxurious, the PT room as wonderful with state of the art equipment, the food is outstanding and so much more.

He was fifteen feet up on a ladder trimming a tree when a branch came down, hit him in the head, and swiped him off the ladder onto a pile of logs. He lay there for twenty minutes before he had enough breath to get to our house. He knew he needed to call 911, but we live on a gated property, and he knew they couldn't get in. He drove to the gate to open it with the intention of then calling them. He then decided that since he was that far, he should drive to Morgan Memorial. He arrived, went in with a bloody head, labored breathing, barely able to talk, and dragging his leg. He was handed a stack of papers and told to fill them out. He told her that he didn't know how badly he was hurt, but that he thought pretty badly. She told him someone had to fill out the papers. My husband told her that he was unable to do it and that if he had to fill out papers, he would just have to leave. She did nothing to reach out or help him in any way, just watched him walk out. He returned to our home, fell into bed, and was found by our daughter in terrible condition and incoherent. She rushed him to Good Samaritan at Lake Oconee. He was taken back immediately, assessed as having eight broken ribs, two crushed, and a collapsed lung. A chest tube was put in, and he was transported to Athens Regional and put in the trauma unit. He stayed for a week, with several other serious injuries uncovered there, including a bruised spleen, a hematoma in his stomach, and a blocked kidney from the impact. It is shocking that there wasn't a more astute and urgent response from this emergency room. I shudder to think that anyone would be dismissed as my husband was, especially when he told her outright that he believed he was grievously injured. To allow him to leave in his condition is shameful. The thought of what might have happened to him as a result of this action is horrifying. To add insult to injury, I called and left a message requesting the hospital's administrator to call me to discuss our experience there. I have yet to hear from her.

I immediately called poison control, and they patched me through to the Battery Ingestion Center (yes, it's real.) After giving them my sons information, battery type, and the closest hospital. they instructed me to get there asap. I was literally 8 minutes away at this time. When I arrived, the doctors already had a plan in place for my child, x-ray technicians waiting, and the had alerted the helicopter that we might need them. This all within the 8 minute drive! Luckily, my son had a good prognosis, and none of that was needed, but I am impressed by their urgency.

This guy said to me "I placed the rolling chair down, and picked up a "rolling hospital grade Blood pressure machine" and he dropped the medal base on my face and head. He left me alone in the dark room with zero supervision to go get his incompetent supervisor the "Director of outpatient Therapy" because he didn't know how to call emergency code at a hospital or get clinical care for me. The emergency room was a few feet away from the PT rehab Treatment room he worked at and left me 'alone'. I had to beg to be taking to ER. This physical therapist is 'extremely dangerous and the traveling company he worked or still working for. ***Morgan Medical Center is even MORE DANGEROUS BY HIRING THIS incompetent third party fella and his subcontractor*. He shouldn't be lifting any machines over my head. I hope this never happens to anyone ever again. Realizing it was…read moresimilar to the first symptoms of a shingles attack I'd had 25 years earlier, I walked into this facility without an appointment to get evaluated and hopefully be prescribed anti-viral medication while they'd still be effective. I was prepared for a long wait, but was pleasantly surprised when the nurse called me back in a reasonable amount of time. The Nurse Practitioner examined me, listened to my symptoms and previous history of shingles and sent a prescription for anti-viral medication right over to the local CVS pharmacy. The receptionist was kind and friendly, and the entire staff made the visit as quick and efficient as possible. I would definitely recommend this facility to anyone in the area requiring urgent care.

She took my vitals and was so very kind. The wait wasn't long before I was off to a room and met the sweetest nurse, Brittany (RN). Although my anxiety was through the roof as I waited on my CT Scan results, she made me feel so relaxed. Brittany was kind, personable, and professional. Lastly, I met Dr. Eddie Green. He was outstanding! Best doctor I've ever encountered at any Emergency Room. All I can say is that they made my visit so comforting despite the circumstances. I have been a practicing attorney for over 31 years with 21 of those years in Athens. Customer service, which the U.S. had once prided itself on as a world leader has turned to nothing but arguments, blockages, rejections, denial of coverage and non-cooperation. Simple requests are routinely rejected on the grounds of protocol, and when asked to have it given to you, it's never available in writing unless requested through Piedmont's legal team. Despite never being available, my recent request to exclude a hospital employee from a private conversation with a hospital supervisor was declined, presumably to make sure it was caught on camera in the hallway. The increase in the reliance on 'Protocol" as an excuse for denying you your rights as a patient/family member is nothing more than a "B.S." Nazi-esq excuse intended to avoid doing their work and giving you access to things that may actually violate both criminal or civil the law or both. Bottom line is this: If I hadn't kept insisting to be taken to the Hospital Administrator's Office to meet with him and threatening legal action, nothing would have been accomplished. It's a truly sad day when a health care facility is so uncaring, self-protective, and ready to deny people their inalienable right to visit a sick loved one that it takes THREATS for them to do their jobs. Mouth was bleeding profusely and was in quite a bit of pain. I admittedly had been drinking lightly that evening in full disclosure. Upon checking in after my friend driving me to the ER, no forms regarding my previous medical history were given to me to be filled out (current medications, allergies, etc) and the lobby was empty. I was told to sit down. About 5 minutes later a nurse pulls me into the exam room and looks at my mouth for about 2 seconds then asks what meds I take. I tell her I have depression and PTSD so I take psych meds. She goes "hmm" and then says the doctor will be right in. She took no vital signs other than my weight. 5 minutes later the PA enters the room, briefly looks in my mouth and says "there's nothing we can do for a busted lip or cracked tooth. I recommend seeing an emergency dentist tomorrow," then hands me some gauze without even taking ANY history. No pain meds were given and not even a referral to a dentist. I'm so sorry I bothered the staff who was doing absolutely nothing upon arrival. Just goes to show you the unfortunate stigma we still hold against people with mental illness in this country - especially in backwoods places like rural Georgia.

I went to this medical center campus to visit a husband and wife. One was already in the hospital…read moreand the other one was there to check in for surgery. The husband was in the orange building and the wife was having surgery in the main hospital. I must say this hospital is gorgeous. The glass windows and atrium really make the building. First we had to register for surgery in a small office to the left of the front desk in the lobby. We then were instructed to go to the second floor. The surgery center is conveniently located on that floor. To the right of the elevators is another check in desk. The wait time was minimal even though there were a ton of people waiting. I later realized it was family members supporting their patient. From the time we got there to the time we went to the patient's room after the surgery we were met with nothing but kindness and friendly faces. The entire staff gave an air that they love their jobs. I was impressed that they had a harp player in the lobby. This was much needed for those that are worrying about their loved ones. I also appreciated the free golf cart shuttle between buildings. The campus is pretty big. It was extremely hot and who wants to move their car when it isn't needed. The golf cart driver was really cool and friendly. Excellent service here at this hospital.

And as far as the other stuff it was great like they had a Coke Freestyle thing and three cafe's one even having a Chick-fil-A and Starbucks. The only reason to not give a five star review is because only two people in the ICU at a time, but overall good experience.
