Great winery with good service. There is a shade covered large patio and several tables inside the air conditioned main room. The food is great quality ($15 a plate at the time of our visit) and included a sandwich and a side. No gluten free bread but they made a plate without the bread for me. All 4 of us enjoyed the food. Came here for QueensFeast, which is the best menu value this year as it includes wine pairing w/each of the 4-courses! Plus, you get a delicious watermelon shooter w/mint cream palate cleanser! The property is just gorgeous w/actual vineyards, an expansive patio area and a little gazebo overlooking the pond. The dining area is open w/a little bar and a couple of hightop tables. Staff here are exceptional! They made it feel like I was visiting friends, yet were attentive and knowledgeable. Not only do they have a fabulous menu, but the wines were all pretty good as well! Plus, they offer beer flights from their brewery in Salisbury! The grounds are absolutely lovely with a nice outdoor patio where you can enjoy the view. They serve some light bar food so you can get something to eat while out there which is great. The owner is a really great guy. What I did not enjoy was being hounded by strays while eating. There are these huge 100+lb dogs that roam around freely that walk right up to the table and stick their faces in your food which I found to be quite appalling. I couldn't enjoy my meal in peace as I constantly had to stand up and hold my plate above my head. That totally ruined the experience for me. We tried going inside thinking that would alleviate the issue and they followed us inside and one dog even jumped onto my friend's lap trying to get whatever she was eating out of her hand. Something really needs to be done about that. I ended leaving early I was sooo annoyed. I guess the dogs live there so nobody really cares but it's just not a good experience. read more

Good wines & friendly staff. We popped in on our way home after seeing them listed on line. Glad we did. The location is lovely even though it was a rainy day for us. Plenty of inside seating available. We did a 5 wine tasting & enjoyed all the dryer wines, but the reds were very good! With the tasting you get a stemless wine glass to keep. The tasting was a good pour so you could really taste the wine and figure out how you liked it. The staff is knowledgeable about the wines so can help you choose your five, and give you information about what you are tasting. Definitely worth popping in if you are in the area. read more

Had a group of 7 people and a small dog that wanted to go have a few drinks and food. Upon arriving, the owners large dog met us in the parking lot and was jumping up on everyone and especially trying to get at the small dog who was being held. As We opened the door to the enclosed bar area, the person holding the dog was told very rudely that she COULD NOT bring her small dog in but that we could let THEIR dog come inside to free roam. Why is it ok for one and not the other? The small dog was well behaved and would not have bothered anyone unlike the owners dog who was actively jumping on people. Morgan Ridge lost 7 good paying customers that day that would have spent quite a bit of money on food , drinks and tips. We'll not be back again. read more

Absolute horrible experience! We belong to Harvest Host. We booked an overnight stay Friday night. Beautiful venue. We were invited by Chef Lisa to attend the Mother's Day brunch Sunday. So we drove 30 minutes out of our way to attend. Upon arrival we were rudely approached by a blonde lady who told us we couldn't park our "rig" (RV) there. For the record, we could have parked 100 RV's on the wide open field this winery had. I tried to explain that Chef Lisa invited us , she said she did t care! She told me we had to park out back or not at all. So we chose "not at all" and took our business somewhere else! Way to go lady! Unprofessional as they come right there as the front line person representing your business. Keep her around and you may not have a business one day! read more

We visited last night, for the Seafood Buffet. We started in the beautiful wine tasting room and our wine server was joyful & fun! The eating area was in a beautiful outdoor tented pavilion. The views were beautiful. The tables where large, round & very dirty. This started the downfall. The tables had various name tags on them & we were to share with others. The eve ended up cold & windy. Us girls were very cold. We weren't told we be outside. (We were expecting a restaurant situation). The was no pre wine sales in the dining area. As we sat the consistent gun fire started to happen. (Must have been a target range or someone practicing?) We realize you can not control the world but, the gun fire was close enough to make your body jump. There was no background music on. The food serving was on time, hot, plentiful, fresh & good. Having to bus our own dirty, no linen table (staff told us they were so short staff, only 3 people for serving 70 rsvp!) and gunfire, no soft music in the background, no pre wine drinking at our table was the major complaints. An incomparable wine tasting experience! I visited using an Amazon deal for a wine tasting. The tasting session included a detailed tour of the winery including explanations of how the wine is made and it's history. I got to taste 13 of their wines + a cheese platter featured for the tour & a complimentary wine glass to take home. The winery itself is small & cozy. The atmosphere is close-knit and the staff was very welcoming. During my time at the winery I never felt rushed despite them being super busy. The indoor area has very homey feel and has only a few tables and bar. The outdoor area is very large and scenic with places for dining or to just relax. For the tasting & tour, the hosts were very knowledgeable & gave such detailed descriptions of each wine + provided a listed handout detailing the main features of each wine. The wines were so awesome that I ended up purchasing one of each of their featured reds & whites. I certainly plan to visit again. read more

I visited Morgan Ridge for a wine tasting, followed by lunch and a flight of their beer offerings. It was a good experience! I was visiting the area from the California wine country, which sets a pretty high bar for quality. I've learned to temper my expectations when it comes to NC wineries (not meaning to be insulting; it's a rather harder climate to grow wine grapes in), but I came away fairly impressed by the offerings here. The wines were solid and enjoyable - if I lived nearby, I could certainly see myself buying bottles regularly. Lunch was tasty. The large patio was a nice place to be on the comfortable and thankfully-not-quite-rainy day I visited. The beers were not of the sort I typically drink - I'm a hophead, and their offerings were on the other end of the spectrum - but they were well-brewed. i was surprised how much I liked the coconut cream ale - I'm not a big fan of coconut, and I would typically dismiss such a concoction as a 'novelty beer', but it worked! If you're not big on hops, their beer might suit you well. read more

The wines were delicious and such a good variety. The reds were especially impressive. The scenery is beautiful and the facilities are so well maintained. We had a group of women go for a wine tasting! Our organizer emailed ahead of time and asked if it was ok if a large group came in, we were told it wouldn't be a problem and to come in. As soon as we walked in the door we were getting dirty looks and snarky remarks from The female bartender. She was such a b*tch and she clearly wasn't happy we were there. She made it very clear that she didn't wanna serve us. We asked for some flights and she said it was too much work to serve us flights. The entire time she never once smiled or tried to interact with us. Her boyfriend owns the place and she was complaining about him also the entire time. On top of it the wine was disgusting. When we were sitting outside on the patio she came outside and sat at a table and was staring at us like she was trying to intimidate us. She also started in with us as we were leaving calling us drunks and no one in the group was even remotely drunk. One of the ladies in our group said to her that maybe she needed a drink to chill out and she said she was a holistic doctor and doesn't drink. Total bitch the entire time and I wouldn't give this business a dime of my money . read more

In the middle of an area with almost no other entertainment options is a cute little winery with both indoor and outdoor pavilions and a lovely pond. They were advertising live music and dinner this weekend, which we jumped at after being cooped up since March. The website stressed the COVID-19 precautions and the event was supposed to be outdoors, so we felt safe making reservations. Unfortunately, the staff not only was entirely maskless, but they weren't taking the slightest precautions to maintain distance. At one point during the dinner, a maskless random employee put her head a foot from mine to see if we liked the dinner. (The performer was so loud that was the only way to be heard.) If Morgan Ridge doesn't want to take any COVID precautions, then fine, but they should have not advertised the opposite, especially since we drove almost an hour to visit, making it difficult to turn around and go home. They do have a nice barn facility, and they had moved the tables far enough apart so we didn't have contact with the other patrons. While it wasn't outside, the doors were very wide so that a light breeze cooled us off in the humid August in NC air. Their best wine was the high alcohol slushy mix, which comes in either berry or margarita flavors. The six-ounce cups really pack a punch. After the wine, their beer was better than I expected, fairly drinkable on a hot, muggy NC night. The performer was a pleasant, enthusiastic baritone who got more enthusiastic every time he yelled at the servers to bring him another beer. They were offering a boxed dinner, which sounded fun so we ordered ahead of time. The fish tacos were technically fish tacos since they contained a 1-inch square of fish and a pinch of lettuce, but the lack of flavorings of any kind or more ingredients was disappointing. Traditionally tacos come with salsa, or lime/creme dressing, or even taco sauce packets in a pinch. The event was lightly attended and we had made reservations to have dinner at a specific time, so the hour wait for a dish that was so simple is puzzling. read more

I love vineyards. They are always so beautiful. This place is no exception. It was an extremely hot day when I went, which I wouldn't suggest because it was incredibly difficult to sit outside and that's where all the scenery is. The service was good. They have wines by the glass, bottle, and tastings. They have some little snacks available for purchase as well. The indoor seating is ok, but I would much rather come back on a comfortable day to enjoy the view and take advantage of the outdoor seating and areas. read more

Morgan Ridge has a wonderful setting. When you come, plan to have an extra glass and sit outside on the patio. They make both wine and beer. You should try both if you have time. first, I would like to say that the view, and the ambience of the place was beautiful. However, I was extremely disappointed with the service the bartender don't remember her name was as nasty as nasty can be. I went there with a group of women there were 19 of us we emailed and let them know ahead of time that we will be coming, well apparently the bartender was pissed that we were coming and boy did she let it be known. There were a total of three people in the bar when we came in we told her don't worry don't stress we're here just to chill and relax, drink and buy some wine , well she was so nasty and aggravated that we were even there for some reason. when it was asked to her why are you being so nasty? Why are you so upset? She did not hold back. She made it known that she does not drink alcohol and does not like drunks lol OK... She went on by saying that the owner pissed her off and that's why she's in a bad mood then she also told us that the guy is her boyfriend! Not for nothing but why the hell do we care? Anyway, we try to keep her calm let her know she is okay and appreciated we're here to have a nice afternoon not to stress her out but it did not change her mood. The boyfriend pissed her off and she was taking it out on us! to top it all off the wine sucked!! There was even a point where she served wine to another customer that was there, and there was black bits of some thing that fell into the wine glass, when the customer showed concern about it, she said don't worry about it! lol, the customer then said no, Can you please get me a new one and she was like fine and then grabs the glass so angrily and dumps it. For me, the wine tasted, extremely spoiled. One white wine taste like there was metal in it. Maybe that's the way it was supposed to taste ‍ but I sure wasn't going to buy that. As we were leaving the bartender comes out to watch us leave and decides that she is going to make snarky remarks as we were leaving. She was rude, disgusting inappropriate, and I will never recommend this place to anyone. In my opinion, they need to get their shit together and not put a holistic doctor as a bartender ( she made sure to tell us that) who wants to make comments about the fact that we are they are drinking. such a horrible end to a beautiful day. This is a tough review but hope the owners read because this place has potential. It's out a good bit, but the view looked worth it- and it was! Beautiful pond and nice facilities. Wines were good with a a few sweet wines and 2 slushes for those who aren't true wine people. I don't drink beer, but having a brewery there also seems like a win! First issue was Covid- nice display on door to have masks on, and then the entire group of workers- at least 6 - all had masks but were improperly wearing them. Often they would were under their chin or pull them down when they spoke which is befuddling. We waited our turn, and on three occasions, I went to an empty bar and couldn't get acknowledged for at least 10 minutes. The first time, they went to the group behind us and waited on them, which I take as an innocent mistake but it was odd and uncomfortable - everyone checks to be sure you aren't waited on, but not a big deal. Going outside we got a seat and watched waitresses go by and try very hard not to have eye contact with us. Finally, after 45 minutes I went in to order another round and some food. The response to my request (again after waiting at least 10 minutes) was I'll try to help you, but I'm pretty busy. I'm not sure how many people were there- I would say 30 - but with 5+ servers, it's crazy the slowness of service. So I had to ask for water (there seemed to be a server assigned to that, but should could only take two at a time and again, I think tried hard to avoid offering as needed) with my next round and if they had a cheese tray or anything. It was like I asked for something totally unexpected and it confused them. I asked what they had that was easy and quick? We arrived at nachos, which was great. Had to talk to the cook just to ask to NOT have pork - jalapeños was again responded to as an odd request. So I placed the order inside because of desperation waiting outside, and I say I know your busy so when you can just bring it out to me. It took 15 minutes to get our drinks, and after another 30 minutes we tapped out and left without water or nachos. Arrived at 1:30 and left at 3:30 so should have had staff to handle, and I feel they did. I have a pet peeve for service people avoiding me. Couple that we a lack of caring for proper mask use and pitiful delays and it became too much. 2 hours and and only 2 drinks is ridiculous to me, even if you are enjoying a wonderful day and scenery! Highly recommend that they get that team together and learn good service and good prep. This could be a great place to go!! read more

When we arrived a less than pleasant lady told us that she didnt know why this keeps happening because they stopped brunch. A man came out andsaid they could make us something. She again stated we claimed to have reservations. I told her we in fact did have reservations and we showed proof of confirmation. She threw her hands up and was not happy so I told her an apology would be much nicer instead of her actions. This lady yelled at me and the nice man and stormed off! Never again will be be back. Went for Sunday brunch. Very disappointing. Staff was nice but the sausages were stone cold and the eggs seemed to be powdered eggs. The greens were good and a few other items .. but will never go back for brunch. Was really disappointed in whole experience today. . * The owners did reach out and I greatly appreciate that. I do wish them the best since it shows they do care. For that I will give them 3 stars instead of two. If they make some changes this could really be a great brunch but for my first impression not being great and it not being super close I don't think I will be going again for brunch. We had the good fortune of stopping by the vineyard for a wine tasting and tour recently. About an hour and a half away from Charlotte,Very secluded. The staff was lovely and the grounds were wonderful to spend an afternoon in. The wine tasting was great, my first. I'm greedy, so they could have poured a little more for me to taste. But I admit, some of the wines were really good. We bought 4 bottles to help support this small business. They also have a brewery on site, and I bought a flight of beers. I was not impressed by the beers. They were just ok for me. Overall a nice way to see another part of our great state of NC. read more
