A great karaoke place! They have a fantastic system set up that's so easy to use. Searching for a song is a breeze and I don't think there was a song that we wanted that they didn't have. The food was good and there's a lot of different stuff to choose from. But the drinks we ordered were a little disappointing and didn't taste like much at all. The service was fine. The charcuterie board didn't have a ton of selections since you build the size and they were out of one of the three meats they offer but didn't tell us while ordering. I love coming here and hanging in the main lounge where they have open mic nights. It's perfect especially when you don't have a large enough group for a room. I say surprising because I expected bar food but they actually put effort into the flavors of the wings and the fries were very well seasoned. I enjoyed the old fashioned. It was a weekend but early. The location seems to be cursed, so I really hope this one lasts because I love the theme and really liked the one in St Pete. I've been to Lala in St Petersburg for brunch and was so excited to hear they were opening a second location in Tampa! This time, I ended up going in the evening for my friend's karaoke party. We had a BLAST! We had the largest room which we completely filled up. I wish there was more seating and air flow but you can only do so much if you want performance space too. The karaoke had plenty of songs to select from and the music was plenty loud. The only strange part was that the lyrics were facing the tv which was away from the rest of the group so the person singing ending up looking back and forth a lot. Otherwise, it was awesome! Wow! This was a great experience for a karaoke bar. Our group had an amazing birthday celebration in a private room. It was Nashville themed with good seating and tables, and a big screen with the lyrics on it. We enjoyed singing karaoke songs and had a server who attended to our needs throughout the night. They had a good variety of food but I did not try any this visit. Many of our crew tried specialty cocktails and pitchers of beer for decent prices. My sister and I didn't want the night to end so we were already around the Tampa Bay Area and I knew of this place because I want to celebrate my birthday here. We came here to lounge and check out the place for the first time. They have valet parking which was $7. The seating wait was so quick and we got to sit close to open mic night area they were having. It was such a fun and positive experience everyone singing on open mic night. My sister and I weren't too hungry so we got something small and shared it. I went for a team-building activity to the Studio 54 room and had an amazing time! The room has really fun decorations and also has games you can warm up the vibe to sing. We went for dinner on Saturday. We made reservations on opentable.com, and I was seated within 10 minutes of arrival. The restaurant is new, and the staff does not yet have its rhythm. The food was... fine. Nothing particularly remarkable. We started with an order of wings and the fried calamari. The fried calamari was pretty good, although some pieces were soggy. The wings were not great. The skin was soggy. For my main, I had the Mediterranean pasta with grilled octopus. It was fine, but I probably would have chosen a different pasta shape than pappardelle. It wasn't very easy to eat and also get a balanced forkful. My husband had a burger, and the kids had kids meals, and no one complained about their food. My husband had a Casamigos reposado on the rocks, and I had a couple glasses of rose. The rose was not properly chilled, or maybe it sat out a bit until it wasn't crisp. Not great. My main complaint was that we brought our own bottle of wine. The bottle was better than anything that they have on the menu. We asked our waitress if there was a corkage, and she said she'd ask. She came back and told us that the owners do not have a permit to allow customers to BYOB, so we could not drink our own wine. I'm fine with businesses saying that you cannot BYOB. Usually when we bring our own bottle, we order a couple of cocktails, and we tip on top of the corkage, so I think the servers and staff make out okay, but whatever. It's a choice. But to lie about a permit? They have a full bar. My husband has decided that he won't return to a restaurant that has been caught out in a lie as the trust is broken. It's disappointing. We like to do karaoke and were interested in renting a private karaoke room. But I guess this was a one and done visit. read more

Last Thursday my friend celebrated her birthday at Lala and it was such a great experience. We were at the Moulin Rouge Room. Just imagine a group of friends sipping delicious cocktails, eating, and singing Karaoke in a beautiful room, simply the perfect way to celebrate a birthday. Rented a room for my 21st. I've never been to a karaoke room in Tampa and was very pleasantly surprised!! Drinks and food are a bit pricey, but they're amazing quality for what you get. I'm not an elite yelper. I'm a real customer. It's a Saturday night and I rented a karaoke room for my birthday. When my party arrives we walk into an empty lobby and then a young hispanic woman with a Lala Tampa shirt comes out and walks our direction. I say "Hi, we're here to check into my reservation." She responds with an attitude saying "Oh, I'm off the clock" and keeps walking. I say, "can you get someone else on your team for us?" She responds again slowly "I'mmmm offf the clock!" and leaves! It's the blatantly rude and obnoxious way to be treated simply for trying to check in. A man did eventually come out and checked us in. I told him about it, but his response made me doubt this employee was ever going to be addressed. It's a nice looking place... but the staff's personalities are not ok. I can't justify paying top dollar for karaoke, mediocre food and drinks just to be treated like trash. read more

The outside is transformed with a nice outdoor patio with the garden siding and full bar. You can come for their food and enjoy the evening or book a private room with friends. We got the studio 54 for room for about 12 people which includes a server and access to the full food and drink menu. They had most songs we were looking for, and we even added an hour. I ATE HERE AND IT CAUSED ME TO GO TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM. THEY DO NOT KNOW ABOUT ALLERGIES!!!!!! AVOID IF YOU HAVE AN ALLERGY. I have a SEVERE allergy to PEANUTS AND TREE NUTS. This is not a comprehensive play by play, but here is how it went. I told the server about my allergy (multiple times) and asked him to tell the kitchen to make sure my food was safe. A few bites into my entree, I start to have difficulty breathing and a scratchy throat. I told the waiter this and he said he would go check with kitchen. After talking to the hostess for a couple minutes and typing on his cell phone, he eventually came to tell me that the food I was served had almonds in the sauce. I immediately had to use my epi pen, I had already taken benadryl at that point. My friend took me to the ER where I am still at. THE SERVER DID NOT KNOW THAT ALMONDS WERE A TREE NUT! HOW DO YOU NOT TRAIN YOUR STAFF ABOUT FOOD ALLERGIES? I will be in contact with the manager, Kai, as I spoke with him while I was waiting for my friend to take me to the ER. They offered to pay the ED bill and they paid for our full meal. However, this does not make up for putting my life in danger. BE CAREFUL EATING HERE, ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES! Unfortunately, this establishment does not take food allergies serious, nor understand what a nut or tree nut is apparently. After dining with a group yesterday, my friend was sent into anaphylaxis and had to go to the ED after specifying multiple times with the waiter that she had a food allergy. She was served a sauce with almonds in it after multiple reiterations that she was allergic to all nuts and tree nuts. On top of that, the manager Kai waddled in after my friend had to stab herself with her Epi pen and just sort of coasted in the back embarrassingly without a sincere apology or explanation for what had happened. I had to ask him if he was the manager because he was awkwardly standing there just watching the medical emergency unfold. After discussing with the waiter and manager about what happened, the waiter said "Almonds? Those aren't peanuts or tree nuts"....I cannot make this up people. Food allergies are a standard part of restaurant education for all staff members. The fact that staff here did not understand that an almond is considered a tree nut concerns me beyond imagination for any patron here. Leadership needs to do a better job educating employees on information that is considered basic knowledge in the food industry. read more

I never have ever written a review in my life. the blonde girl in french braids behind the bar on saturday night was so rude. first thing she said was "everyone has to leave at 2 am" and used the f word while saying it. then proceeded to look at my boyfriends passport and said I have never seen something like this rolled her eyes.
