Ac worked great. Beds and pull out couch were comfortable. Cute chicken coop in the back. Patio furniture was nice. Views great. Hot tub worked well. We went across the street for riding lessons for the girls. Door dash and instacart work here which was nice. Overral worth it and we would come back. Great for families and adult get a ways. This is truly amazing farmstay. The animals are so well behaved, the views were magical and it wasn't far from Old Town in Temecula (15-20 minutes). If you are looking for a relaxing atmosphere I would highly recommend coming here. Dawn th owner was beyond accommodating and even taught us how to make Jam. Heaven on earth! What an incredibly special place. My teenage son and I stayed in the one-bedroom Romantic Farmstay. (He did yell "Ew!" every time he saw the name.) It was so private, quiet, and secluded. The view from our patio--a popular hangout spot for the peacocks--was BREATHTAKING. The goat enclosure was 20 steps away. The chickens and alpacas were a five minute walk down the hill. Our unit was very clean and sweet and had everything we needed. If I had a question, someone was always available via text to answer. The second night we took a Lyft to the nearby Rainbow Oaks Restaurant, which was great--there's a market next to it with grocery basics plus fun vintage candy and souvenirs. 100% recommend. Long review alert We were very excited for this farmstay as it looked like a relaxing weekend getaway with 2 kids under age 2 and one 6 year old. But the negatives outnumbered the positives and our trip ended up being an unpleasant experience. Cons - 1. Attitude of the owner. I would like to elaborate on this experience as it was a cherry on the topping of our entire trip. It all started with the AC not working in one room and it was a very hot and humid day. I call the emergency line and they say it's not an emergency and someone would call in the morning. I had an overtired baby who wanted to sleep and was crying so I needed the AC working right away. We have used split ACs all our lives so we tried seeing a few YouTube tutorials and it was an easy fix, we just had to press a button under the flap and it was working again. On opening the flap we see the filter covered with a thick layer of dust and mold. The owner didn't like me pointing this out and claimed it was cleaned a couple days back. What lies!! To me it wasn't cleaned in months and my kids were breathing this unhealthy air. 2. The rooms smelled of mold. I felt very uncomfortable as my kids were breathing this but couldn't do much about it. It was super hot so couldn't leave windows open too. 3. The shelves in the kitchen were sticky and dirty. Looks like they were never cleaned. I am attaching pictures for reference. 4. The bedsheet had some kind of mold/fungus too. Not sure if it was washed. 5. The outdoor lights near the hot tub didn't work. We tried all possible switches to make it work but didn't succeed. 6. The ceilings were covered with cobwebs and floor with rat poop. I understand it's a farm and not an Airbnb but when you charge $1500 for 2 days you do expect more hygiene and cleanliness. Pros- 1. Ice cream class was interesting and fun for the kids. Overall, I do feel the farm is over rated for the price they charge and the service they offer. They have peacocks that come in the morning, goats, chickens and Alpacas which are cute but not worth spending $1500 just to experience this. We have been to other farms as well and understand the level of cleanliness and upkeep they usually have but this farm was way below that. Overpriced for what it is. The house wasn't very clean. The bathtub drain was clogged so the shower water piled up at our feet. The water didn't get hot. And the treat bins for the animals were all empty. And the sofa bed was broken so the mattress fell through at the bottom. We won't come here again. The wild peacocks were fun! A true slice of Southern California heaven! We will be planning our vacations around the Rustic Cabin's availability from now on. My partner and I stayed here while we were in town for a friends wedding and didn't want the stay to end. This farm is tucked away in the hills giving it that remote feeling but is also close enough to town for a run into Fallbrook or Temecula for morning coffee. In a place so populated, it is rare to experience the kinds of stunning views and evening stillness that this place offers! The folks who run the place are so knowledgable and sweet. They've clearly put hard work into establishing some AMAZING groves and are happy to share what they've learned with you! They made sure we felt like we belonged amongst the llamas with cool haircuts and roaming peacocks. Its impossible not to respect the welcoming nature of these awesome people - there is something to be said for people who love what they do and want to bring you in to the magic, even if it is just for a weekend. It has nails poking out, no attached bathroom, just the smallest toilet and smallest sink in the world and the woman who owns this place is deceitful, dishonest and rude. we had booked romantic farmstay and she called us to upgrade us to Safari tent which according to her was an upgrade but in reality, Safari tent is the worst place I have ever seen. She moved us from a cozy room which had views to a place that had no views, no dining table just a rusty table that too outside, no hot tub which was included in romantic stay and no room in kitchen to dine. She knew we had a 2 year old and she still presented this as an opportunity when it was deceitful. When we arrived and decided to leave, she said she would give us a refund but instead after 3 days she decided she wouldn't give us any refund and will keep our reservation money. Overall this is the worst experience our family had and please if you have little one stay from this place. It's a health hazard and so many nails and places where little ones can get hurt. Btw everyone talks about "Farm Animals" there, they literally have two Alpacas in a very bad state , they don't even look healthy, couple of chickens and aggressive goats. This place is magical! Took our grandkids there for 2 nights and three days and had an absolute BLAST! Beautiful scenery, the farm animals are so much fun! Peacocks, alpacas, goats, chickens are sooo friendly. We hiked all over the property and took advantage of the cheese & butter making class! Sooooo informative, fun and yummy! The bungalow was clean, cute and well stocked. We had a backyard with our own chicken coop and a lil front yard and our own private spa. We stayed in the largest property called Bunny Hill and had a magical family time! It was sparkling clean and well stocked. The kitchen and dining area was perfect for our large group. I loved the enclosed backside sitting space and deck! We thought about rentin 3 small cabins but ended staying in one place all together. Friendly peacocks came to visit every afternoon and kids loved hugging the chickens and gathering eggs. We are already planning to make another trip and take the cheese making class. The best 4 days of my life! My grown up daughter and I just stayed 3 nights at Morning Star Farm and the hostess/ owner, "Dawn," was wonderful in every way! Our Romantuc cottage was clean, pristine, perfect! Super easy to unpack our car, feed the goats; beautiful scenery, quiet, and private amongst nature! The hot tub was clean and perfect, as was the cottage with everything you could want and need! I just bought the great same mattress that was on the bed; storage, the adorable kitchen, large bathroom --- omg, just perfect. We made the best memories -- cheesemaking, mosaic tile making; ice cream making, feeding the chickens and the most charming alpacas! (I would like to start with the following statement: I was forced to reschedule our original stay during the COVID-19 Quarantine in April. I had absolutely no difficulty rescheduling my stay to June. Zero hassle.) I am a single mom with two toddlers and a baby daddy in tow. We rented the Safari Tent for Father's Day into mid-week. I write my reviews from the perspective of someone who NEEDS places to be kid friendly. This place is kid friendly to the Y. We pulled up at 3pm on the dot, Donna was getting our hot tub ready. We stayed two nights and two days. We gave treats to the chickens and blew kisses to the alpacas. We hugged the goats every evening at 5pm and asked Lance all sorts of questions about the goats, snakes, rabbits and peacocks. He was absolutely wonderful with me and the kids. I know there might be some trepidation interacting with property owners, especially ones who put so much personal work and money into their property, but Lance and Donna are lovely people and we looked forward to crossing their path (which was not often). My daughter and I spotted a bobcat at dusk. I remember when I was 12 and spotted a grey fox with my father on a camping trip. That is the stuff you hold in your heart forever. We plucked oranges from the tree next to the tent and made our own orange juice. We had fresh eggs from the chickens for breakfast. Then we went to Over the Rainbow for a riding lesson. Robin gave us her lemons and we made lemonade back at the tent. I don't think I could handle camping with my two littles, aged 2 and 4, but this was so wonderful- one of the best places we have ever visited. I would like to take them back as we get older. There was so much wonder every day with the animals, the morning fog, the starry nights, the unafraid bunnies, the peacock mommy and her babies... it was a beautiful experience I hope to repeat as many times as possible (before puberty strikes). The hot tub had an adjustable temp, easy to figure out. The bathroom is separate but my daughters (both potty trained) had no trouble nor any complaints about using it. In fact, it was an adventure full of flowers and bunnies each time. We had a Smart TV for when mom needed a break and a little vodka, plus a game drawer. The two couches folded out so all of us had our own bed. The kids loved hopping from one bed to another and we all slept comfortably. I went into town once to pick up a vegan Thai food platter (which was more than enough for our stay) from S Thai in Temecula. There is a fridge, freezer, coffee maker, microwave and your own wifi- which was more reliable than a Vegas hotel casino. I never lost service or struggled to get online. Not that I wanted to, but a little streaming Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash with a coffee and morning soak was nice. It was just such a wonderful experience. Replying to the owner comments; you are not telling the truth, I have multiple texts from you denying me from getting a refund through you and kept referring me to the insurance company. I am more than happy to post it here for any potential guests you may have. The only reason I tried to dispute my credit card is because the insurance company did not reply to my multiple emails and calls, 4 months after sending all the docs and spending additional $200 to give them ridicules amount of paperwork! Of course the insurance gave me the refund exactly one day after I disputed the charges, what a coincidence!! Please don't make it sounds like I'm at fault, you could have made it easier for me, by simply voiding a charge and not make me deal with this for 5 months. My husband and I celebrated our 10-year wedding anniversary here (Fri-Sun). We stayed in the Safari tent - not because we wanted the tent but because it was the only unit available. I must admit that I was a little nervous about having a bathroom (tub and shower) separate from the room, but it is very cute. It definitely added to the rustic, "glamping" feel. FYI: If you get the tent, do your business before going to bed because a 2am bathroom call (for me) doesn't happen. I was scared to go alone and didn't want to wake the hubby so I held it until the morning. It's not far - I'm just chicken. Donna (the owner) is wonderful. We took her jam making class on our last day. She came to our tent; made jam in the outdoor kitchen. DELICIOUS. She's sweet, and a wealth of knowledge. We will definitely be visiting again, but this time with the kids and try the 2-bedroom unit. read more

This was a weekend outing that we were really looking forward to from the moment we booked it, because we needed to get out of Los Angeles and break the monotony. We chose to stay in the tent as it felt like the most unique of all of the experiences on the farm. Definitively a great choice! Positives: -Communication from the establishment was personalized and thorough -Self check-in was very simple -Most communication was conducted over text which was great for us -Easy parking right in front of unit -WiFi was strong and perfect -The unit was tidy -Unit was very spacious and could easily fit (and sleep) a family of up to 6 -The chicken coop and alpacas so nearby was an AMAZING aspect of the experience -My kids were over the moon excited about being able to wake up early and run over to the chicken coop each morning to find eggs for breakfast -Staff was attentive and friendly when we needed assistance (FRANK was the best)! -Hot tub was perfect for the kids -Unit was well stocked with snacks, bagels, cream cheese, freshly picked eggs, coffee grinds, etc. -Bathroom was well stocked with fresh towels, soap and toilet paper -Water heated up to nice and hot in both the unit and the bathroom -Extra blankets and pillows were left for use in unit Negatives: -Table cloth in unit was dirty and clearly not swapped out prior to our arrival (not necessarily fault of establishment but reflection of cleaning person) so that tray grossed me out, especially with focus on COVID safety -Shower was not fully clean, it had some hair scattered on wall and floor-ewwwww -Farm is far from any sort of restaurant or retail establishment (obviously not fault of the farm) -Rooster was loud! He woke us up starting at 4am/5am -Some pots/dish ware were dirty -Heater stopped working at one point overnight and we woke up to bitter cold at 39 degrees! read more

My family absolutely loves coming to Morning Song Farm! We have been coming since our kids were in elementary school and they are now in High School! It's such a nice getaway from the city. We did the Ice Cream and Mosaic Class this time, it was so much fun! My daughter loved the stepping stone she made and put it in our home garden. We love visiting with the chickens, alpacas and goats. Be sure to bring Cheerios or saltines for the goats. They are friendly. We stayed 2 nights at the Bungalow and Donna was able to extend our stay and we stayed an additional 2 nights at Bunny Hill. See pics attached. It was our first time staying there and it was huge! It's very pretty and has a big hot tub. I love the huge kitchen and dining area. The beds are comfy and there are lots of books and movie options. It was the perfect getaway for my Mom and daughter. We will be back again soon as this is our favorite place to travel for relaxation. I have taken several of Donna's classes like the jam class, cheese making class and ice cream class. Of course my kids are crazy for the ice cream class!!! If you love nature and animals and want to get out of the city, this is a great place to stay. I booked Bunny Hills for a last minute weekend getaway with my husband and 3 year old son. Booking was a breeze through their direct website and Dawn was super responsive to all my inquiries. We checked in late Friday evening and WOW what a surprise. -Clean and super welcoming. Warm farmhouse feel. -Well equipped with everything you need to cook up family meals. Owner gave us bagels, cream cheese, eggs, various snacks (including girl scout cookies!) -Beds are comfy -Jacuzzi was ready for us. Nice and steamy upon arrival. My son couldnt wait to see the animals so we went out before breakfast to say hello to the alpacas, chickens, and goats. My son spent a lot of time with the animals. They are super friendly and my son was over the moon when they ate off his hands. We also took the ice cream making class. The owner brought over all the equipment right over to the front patio for a private session. Made enough ice cream for us to eat throughout and take back home. She even brought over cones, gummy bears and chocolate chips to top off our ice cream. It was an action packed trip and my son (and husband) were both sad to leave. The three of us stayed here over the long weekend and had an absolute blast. This place is tucked away just far enough away from the city to make you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere and close enough to Temecula and San Diego to have dinner at an awesome restaurant, or visit a cool activity for kids to break up your day. My four year old son loved the goat feeding time, visiting the baby chicks, feeding the alpacas, and just wandering around. He liked walking around so much, that when we left for dinner two of the nights he wanted to walk there, because he hoped it was somewhere on the farm. Collecting the eggs were super fun, we were told that there could be about two dozen eggs a day with the amount of chickens they have but we got one . We took the cheese making class which also came with a little side on how to make butter! We will definitely be making some at home after seeing how easy it is to make. We stayed at the Bunny Hill House which came with three beds two baths. Their couches also pull out which was great since we had a larger party. PROS: This is an excellent location if you want to get away from it all; it's secluded--you only see a few neighboring guests walking around. We stayed in the Mountain House unit and it had a nice view of the hills. We enjoyed having a private hot tub though it was not hot enough until about five hours after check-in. The room was tastefully decorated and thoughtfully stocked with ample kitchenware plus movies and games. The bed was excellent. The location is quiet, just with the sound and feel of the wind rushing through this small house perched on a steep hill. We enjoyed being about to see the farm's chickens, goats, alpacas, and peacocks. The host, Dawn, was kind and responsive. CONS: There were not activities nearby that interested us (it's a wine-tasting area) and it was a long drive to get groceries (bring your own with you). It was too far to the beach at about 40 minutes each way. The drive in and out is curvy, steep, and sometimes single-lane. Backing out of a dirt space with a steep nearby drop-off was nerve-wracking and not something I would want to do in the dark. The price was high. read more

Our romantic mountain house was perfect for my husband and I's little getaway. We were secluded enough to enjoy our space and each other, while close enough to visit the goats, alpacas and chickens. The little touches throughout the farm are so cute and inviting. We just came back from our 3 night stay in the 2 bedroom bungalow. There were 5 of us, my spouse and our 3 adult children and there was plenty of room for all of us. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals and the beds were comfortable. Hot tubbing under the stars was magical. We booked 2 classes, the ice cream making as well as the jam making and both were a lot of fun and we ended up adding our jam to our ice cream! Yum! We thoroughly enjoyed visiting and feeding the goats, peacocks, chickens, and alpacas. All were very gentle and fun to watch, especially Dusty and Silverado the alpacas. Stay: March 25-26, 2021 Cliff-notes version (refers to Bunny Hill house) Pros - Relaxing, picturesque spring setting with 70 degree days and 50 degree night temperatures - Ample free parking for 3 cars (2 suv's and a honda accord) - Spacious house with 3 different large outdoor sitting areas and at least 2 AC units (both looked new) - Hot tub, fun farm animals, u-pick fruit farm about a mile away - 6-7 rooms, two bathrooms, two outside sitting areas, one screened in porch and a fenced in back yard - The chickens really appreciate cupboard love in the form of carrot pieces and tiny apple pieces - Peacocks were friendly and approachable to slow movers - Plenty of goat treats were on hand, animal interactions are great for kids under 65, and adults over 65. - Kitchen had everything the 6 of us needed, including a dining table large enough for 8 - 10 people. Cons - Other guest staying in any of the 5 units on site could be "Egg rustlers" and beat you to the eggs. (Remember sharing is caring) - To the under 12 crowd, if feeding the alpacas a handful of grain is fun... feeding them 50 is most assuredly even funnier! (Alas we found but a single handful of grain dust at the bottom of the 20-gallon pail during our 2-day stay following in the footsteps of families with kids). - Silverado and Dusty the alpacas were total food snobs - wouldn't even look at the washed, fresh, cut up carrots and apples we offered (see comment on chickens above). - The fruit on the trees in under contract. People pick the fruit (even though the instructions provided to them CLEARLY state they should not ). Even WORSE - then they write about it here, which leaves the impression this is ok for future visitors, which IT IS NOT! This puts a burden on the owners with their insurance companies who read these reviews and want them to pay for u-pick insurance. I did not just make that up... that was shared with us by the owner! Please - practice respect so all can enjoy this wonderful farm stay and leave the fruit on the trees. - Kenny's u-pick fruit farm is but a mile down the road, where you can load up all you want. Tolstoy version: Tucked on the side of a hill with mixed orchards in Rainbow, CA, a short 5m drive south of Temecula's many vineyards and a stone throw over Fallbrook's northern border, where the tip of the morning fog's Pacific finger is blocked to the east by Palomar mountain, is one of the most relaxing farm stays in southern, CA - Morning Song Farm. Our party consisted of 6 adults, three cars, and around 12 suitcases, which virtually disappeared inside the spacious accommodations of this 6 room house with two bathrooms, two outside sitting areas, a screened in porch, Jacuzzi for 8, with a mostly mulch covered, fenced in back yard. After finding the MSF entrance we proceeded down a steep section of driveway, across a road covered with dirt from the farm equipment, then up a steep, windy driveway, pass the tent unit, past the alpaca/chicken arena, up a steeper hill and past a three driveway intersection to arrive at the Bunny Hill house. We arrived Friday afternoon around 4PM to find the violet flowers of the rosemary bushes surrounding the front door and pergola filled with busy bees and a comfortable afternoon breeze blowing through the sun warmed sitting area. From Bunny Hill it is a 100 yard walk down the fairly steep driveway to the Alpaca/chicken arena and 100 yards up the hill to the goat interaction. We enjoyed the cheese making class, which was minimal hands on (which was how we preferred it) (mostly tasting), but lots of learning. The MSF owner/instructor was both engaging, informative, and had great stories to share of the farm's history and her experiences on her farm. Bunny Hill has nice views of the surrounding hills which allow you to watch the slow pace of activity in the area. No surprise one of the other guess saw a bobcat, the back deck overlooks a grassy hillside and there are plenty of ground squirrels to attract the locals. It was mostly quiet given that all of the peacocks in the area are males (they only scream when the ladies are around). We found the chairs, couches and beds to be very comfortable, but realize these are personal preferences. There were ample diverse book collections throughout the house with a slight emphasis on gardening and agriculture reading. One of the other units is an easy egg toss down the hill (see photos), so you may hear your neighbors. Or, if you are a group larger than 8 get both units and have the run of the place, since they are connected by a very short walking path. We found Carl, the goat, to be a total bully but super friendly... but he was a slow chewer so we were able to indulge the other goats. We mostly engaged in Fallbrook shopping, vineyards, and other nearby activities, since we were using this time to unwind. Bunny Hill is a place to relax, slow down and watch the grass grow and let the comfort of the farm seep into your bones. We will be back. read more

The Mountain house size is perfect for a couple along with a nice size shower. Nice to have our own parking spot. We appreciated the fresh eggs & basic kitchen gear. We would of liked a variety of tea flavors instead of 1 only. The furniture quality/comfort level was less than expected. Specifically the mattress, sofa, & kitchen table. Overall, clean. We drive into Fallbrook for hiking, restaurants, & visited the famous Grand Tradition Estate for breakfast with gorgeous outdoor views!!! We wud come again. read more

Back in L.A. and hard at work, but I want to take a moment and rave about https://morningsongfarm.com/ . We were supposed to stay there just before covid hit and two years later they honored our reservation, even though we couldn't find the original purchase receipt through all the chaos of 2020. It's near Temecula (ask for the Whimsical Escape Room - it comes with a hot tub we didn't use because we didn't want to disturb the peacocks ), spacious, has a kitchen with breakfast foods and coffee and you get to play with their chickens, goats and alpacas (those are not in the kitchen). It's up on a hill with fantastic views, has a terrifyingly fun winding road to get there and was definitely the high point of our stay. CHARMING in all the best ways. Absolutely wonderful! We stayed in the Safari Tent and it was better than a hotel room! Gorgeous decor and yummy snacks! Donna and Lance were amazing hosts, so friendly and helpful , it was so nice being out of the city and enjoying the peace and beauty. Loved every second of my stay...the mountain house was absolutely perfect. Completely secluded. My highlight of every day was hanging out with Lance and his family of goats. Had a blast learning how to make fresh cheese and butter with Karen. The hot tub at night was so beyond relaxing. I was very impressed by how well stocked the kitchen was and just how well thought out everything was. This place was truly amazing. I took my wife to Temecula for wine tasting for our one year anniversary. It was our first out of town trip date and I proposed at a winery in Napa. I, of course, wanted to do something special for our anniversary. Wine tasting in Temecula seemed perfect. But I wanted to stay somewhere special. Morning song was everything we could have wanted. We stayed in a cute and nicely decorated cottage with a four poster bed. Plenty of food from their farm. On top of a mountain with no structures to see in the vast valley. A hot tub under the bright stars. Beautiful alpacas, chickens and goats. It's a windy road to get there so be careful. Donna was incredibly accommodating. We had to walk up the mountain a little to get signal to get a lyft but it worked. It was perfect. It's about a 15 min drive to the wineries which we did by lyft. Had the most wonderful time at Morning Song Farm for our annual Ladies Soirée. We stayed in the bed and breakfast and loved every minute. The views were breathtaking, fresh air was delightful and the accommodations were VERY clean and comfortable. We loved visiting the goats and especially enjoyed the jam making class with Donna. Very educational and fun. Seeing the alpacas with their ridiculous haircuts made the trip worth it on its own, but all the small touches (fresh coffee, bagels, jacuzzi and fire) put the whole experience over the top. Definitely would recommend and absolutely plan on returning again! read more

What a wonderful time the 5 of us had this past weekend. We visited the farmer's market in Temecula and checked in right at 3. Donna is very good with her communication so she was ready to welcome us upon arrival and provide us with info about our cottages and the farm. The accommodations are comfortable, clean. You could easily make complete meals with the utensils, appliances, and supplies from the kitchens. The provided breakfast items allowed us to stay longer in our pjs before leaving the site. Although the farm is secluded we were close enough to downtown Temecula to drive to dinner. It's about a 15 minute drive. We ate at Palumbos which was very good. At night we made smores in the fireplace and then got in the hot tub under the stars. The jam making class was lots of fun. I think I might be able to properly make jam! Donna was informative as well as entertaining and we learned a lot about farming and the importance of knowing where your food is sourced. Be sure to take one of her classes. Goat interaction was much better than what you get at the petting zoo. I now understand goat behavior a little better. They each had their own personality and reminded us of people we know! It was also worth it to zip about 5 minutes up the road to Roadrunner winery. Wine tasting is free if you buy one bottle. We were the only people there so it is real personal. This was low key and totally unlike the tasting you do at a large winery. This was a wonderful getaway. I would definitely return for a romantic getaway with my husband. read more

I'm sorry to say this was not really a "farm" experience at all. The accommodations were super cute and immaculately maintained, which I appreciated. Also the location is very charming. However... The alpacas are actually just two little guys who weren't friendly and wouldn't take food from us and even walked away when we quietly approached them. The chicken coop and alpaca enclosures were in sorry shape. The goats appeared so overfed we didn't feel good about feeding them any more and the bunnies are just random bunnies around the property. When I texted Dawn "what 'farm'ish' things can we do this morning?" (our first morning there) her response was simply "Feel free to interact with the goats, alpacas, chickens and bunnies." No mention of "let's make ice cream!" or "let's churn butter!" or other activities as mentioned on their website. Our suggestion is that this property should be renamed "Adorable hillside hideaway" or something like that. "Farm" is misleading. read more
