Probably been around a decades since I've enjoyed a breakfast here. Turns out this is a great middle of the trip spot for my sister, parents and myself. Everyone enjoyed their selection and the staff is friendly. Was always a well kept dining room. Will certainly suggest we put this place in our rotation.

Visiting Illinois for work and had to stop to eat in the local cafe. This place was great and the gentleman host is so sweet. The food was delicious and we truly enjoyed it. The place is very welcoming, the staff are super attentive and the ambiance is just perfect. The restrooms are very clean and the parking lot is big. I definitely recommend this place for breakfast. The coffee is great and your cup will never hit empty unless you say...your done. In all my travels this has been one of my favorite cafe's...it reminded me of a café I would visit in Tucson AZ off of Prince road that closed after the pandemic. On to the next and remember to tip your servers

Stopped in on a busy Saturday morning. It was my first visit to this restaurant. I knew our server from another restaurant. She is great. They had tables available and we were sat immediately. We ordered the deluxe lunch plates which came with a side and soup. No, not a cup of soup, a BOWL!! With a delicious herb breadstick! The potato soup was fabulous! I hardly had room for my lunch! The monte Cristo was very good. The sweet potato fries were the best!! I will definitely be adding Morningside to my brunch rotation!

It was our first time trying the Morningside Café... We were there for a quick, simple lunch... I ordered a grilled cheese and my friend had the chili. My grilled cheese was very tasty and came with a cup of broccoli cheddar soup, which was super thick and yummy. My friend said his chili was hot and tasty. Would definitely come back here again !

Skirt steak and eggs scrambled hard and cooked in real butter. Delicious and paleo friendly!

I love coming here for breakfast after church on Sundays. It is exactly what you would expect a diner to be good food and good service.

Heading further in, you'll find the ordering counter, and you can even catch a glimpse of coffee beans being roasted, which adds a nice touch to the atmosphere. They offer both a seasonal menu and a straightforward regular menu, making it easy to find something you like. Overall, the environment felt calm and laid-back. The staff were more on the quiet side personally, I'm used to more outgoing baristas, but that's just a matter of preference.

My friends and I were looking for a spot for post-lunch coffee and found Five and Hoek. It is a…read morereally cute, modern cafe in Wheaton. The building looks like it was converted from a church, and the back seating area has some high stained glass windows. In the middle of the cafe is a narrow hallway/corridor where the supply closet and the single stall bathroom is, so it segments the cafe into two areas, connected by this hallway in the center. The design feels very clearly like a remnant of an old historic building, and a brick alleyway runs along one side. In the space/room where you order (walking through the seating area and through the hallway), it opens up with huge windows and a huge industrial coffee grinder on full display. There's another counter to order, with a few pastry options, and along another side wall, a rack of F&H clothes for purchase and the drink menus. (The aesthetic reminded me of Blue Bottle.) I ordered an iced Whiskey Vanilla Latte with oak milk and it was good! I couldn't taste any whiskey at all, and when I ordered the barista had mentioned this (cooked off so you wouldn't taste it) so it was a decent vanilla latte. I'll give them props for a really cool unique flavor. We all grabbed our drinks and headed (back through the hallway) into the other room with the seating area. There is a small section with a couch, otherwise lots of tables and chairs and I was glad it wasn't too crowded so we were able to grab a table. This was a great spot to grab coffee and meet up with friends. It's in a neat little downtown area in Wheaton, and they offer creative coffee drinks, with beans and merch to purchase.

It's the kind of place where you can tell they care about their coffee and the overall experience. I did try the Dubai brownie, and it wasn't my favorite, but everything else about the visit made up for it. The vibe of the shop feels like the perfect place to settle in and get some work done. It's cozy, welcoming, and somewhere I can definitely see myself spending a few productive hours. I'll definitely be back!

I ended up getting a karak chai and a gulab jamun cheese cake to go for $15 including $2 tip. The chai was too hot to drink right away but I kept sneaking tiny sips until it cooled off. It wasn't great, but I thought it would be better once I could get a good swallow of it. Wrong. The tea was extremely bitter (a sign of over-boiling or using too much tea leaves) and I wasn't able to discern any spices. I tried to doctor it up once I got home, but nothing helped so it went down the drain. Blech. The cheese cake should have been delicious, but it was drying out from sitting in the case too long. It was very stiff, and the outside was turning to plastic. (Not literally, but it looked and felt like it.) I didn't finish that either. This place has a great menu, and I was initially looking forward to visiting more often once I start getting allergy shots at the clinic next door, but I will save my money and spend it at La Birria Loca down the block instead.
