Started thins journey w/ Morris almost 3 yrs ago.... I keep getting pushed back and forgotten about. I need surgery on my neck, and the last phone call I had from nurse ( I had to leave a message for her to call back....5 days later) from a follow-up, she told me they are booked out 4 mo. plus.. Came in for emergency hernia surgery. Registration was a breeze. Was taken to emergency room. Tested immediately. Was admitted. Surgery was 9:00 am the next day. Dr Kokoszka and staff did a tremendous job. My caregivers Amber R. RN, Ella S. CNA and Molly, JJC RN student. Were fantastic. Very caring, very professional and friendly. I used to work there as a CNA. The coworkers and bosses are not team players. They talk unprofessionally, most do not care about their patients. All coworkers talked behind others backs, you get 13+ patients to yourself, nurses do not help you. Many coworkers leave you high and dry, no one helps eachother. Not a great place to work, pays terribly for the amount of HARD work you do. HR was very rude. Only good thing to say is you will meet a few very nice patients there that made it worth coming back to work. read more

Nice hospital with good doctors but their BILLING DEPT SUCKS! They do not return phone calls! Over one year of calling and asking for an itemized receipt from an ER visit, someone named Cathy, when she does answer, keeps saying she will send it and never does. After 30 days, they send you to Collections!? My medical bill was removed from the Patient Portal so I was unable to make a payment plan. Also sent numberous emails (to have in writting) requesting they put it back on there. NOPE! Now I am getting calls from a Creditors Discount stating they want my money! LOL ---- Laughable I have NO issues paying my bill, but I will NOT pay a bill not knowing what I am paying for! SCAM! read more

They need to change their name to "Pampers hospital. I never seen anybody better at covering there ass. My wife was brought in by ambulance early Sunday morning. She was diagnosed with boarder line stroke. She had a accident in bed, went to get up and fell. The ambulance crew was fantastic. She got to hospital and a paramedic trainee tried to put in a iv. Dug in her arm for it seems like 10 minutes before the nurse took over. She laid there for 2 hours and I finally had to tell the nurse she was soaked. She wanted to argue with me. I took her clean dry clothes because she was wet. They didn't give her any of her prescriptions at all Sunday. Her blood pressure was 190/145. She ask for a xanex, the nurse said they didn't have them. She was discharged with a order for lab work. Said she could go to any facility to have it done.Took her in this morning, they said they didn't have the order. Said it needed to be ordered by primary dr. If any one is thinking about this hospital, the vets office is around the corner. read more

My sister Not only was braca one positive but also had a lump and they told her she was too young for breast cancer and dismissed it and she died at 37 years old leaving behind three children . Do not listen to these monsters , they will dismiss you and only care about their paychecks . read more

My fiancée was taken there for mental health issues and we were on the phone and she was approached by orderlies who agreed they would talk to me during the panic attack they triggered but instead hung up. Then after that I tried to call back and was told by the head nurse I would be unable to talk to her so I insulted her so she then decided to call the cops on me who called to let me know. Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers is not including copays (when paying at your appt) on their bills. Beware and be sure to check your insurance explanation of benefits before you make a payment. I paid $185 in copays for 2 separate visits that was not included on my bill. Adjustment on EOB is not your copay. Also I received this bill on 12/30/24 for services in July and august. So they wait 5 months to send a bill that insurance paid months ago. This is blatant fraud and I will be notifying the State of Illinois regarding their dishonest practice read more

This hospital is terrible for internal medicine. Multiple times in the past year I have had family members admitted here. This hospital takes far too long to get to the root cause of a problem. They want to hurry up and treat the symptoms and get you out instead of figuring out and treating the true cause. Every single time the family has to advocate and insist on various tests and suggest things to check for in efforts to get to the base of the issue. As recently as this month, my family member was admitted for extreme fatigue and lethargy. A leg infection was discovered in the ER, so that was all that the nurse or doctor would focus on. I asked twice about checking blood gas levels for an elevated CO2 level (as this was the culprit for this symptom presentation in the past) and was blown off and told patient doesn't have respiratory issues. Patient has an infection. I asked about sepsis. I was blown off being told that patient didn't show other signs of sepsis, it is just cellulitis. I informed nurse of patient having been diagnosed with VRE in the past as she began administering Vancomycin. I was blown off. Another family member called after shift change and expressed these concerns to the charge nurse with a bit less patience than I had earlier. A few hours later in the middle of the night, patient was rushed to ICU for high CO2 levels (more than double what it should have been) and septic shock. It should be STEP ONE to read a patient's past history in their chart. And it should be STEP TWO to be medical professionals. Family shouldn't have to tell the staff what to look for and test for and definitely should not be ignored and minimized when they do have to! Patient would have died in the night had it not been for family advocating for the nurses and doctors to do their jobs. Positives: the food was excellent, the entire building is very clean, and the care from nurses and CNAs in ICU is above and beyond. (RNs that were dismissive have been on 2South and 2East) read more

Went in recently for kidney stone. My first experience at this hospital was perfectly fine. This one was terrible. Nurse named bob showed zero empathy or concern for the pain I was in. Was very rude for no reason, seemed mad I didn't respond instantly to questions when I was clearly in a ton of pain. Took 45 mins after getting settled into room before the doctor came (the doctor was great) and he could see how much distress I was in and quickly had them get the meds going. Not a single friendly person other than the doctor. You would think people in that line of work would have compassion and empathy. read more

This review is about one particular person , in general scheduling, I believe her name is Mariella. She is a definition of someone that goes to work and is willing to to her job well done and not just to show up to work like 80% of the people. She took her time to actually solve the problem and schedule 3 tests simultaneously, she was kind, patient, efficient and very professional! I'm difficult times like this , is good to come across people like her, willing to make things work, willing to do well. The world could use more "Mariellas" ! For sure! read more

Wow. An absolute gem! Best toe surgeon in the area (Dr Bishop) does surgeries in Morris and Yorkville. We have been spoiled with Silver Cross, so was a tad worried. No more worries! From check in to check out, an absolutely FABULOUS experience. The warming/cooling hospital gowns were fantastic. For general hospital tests, my family appreciates Morris hospital. My mother was in the hospital for several days with pneumonia and she received decent care; however, I strongly suggest staff/nurses review how to talk to patients. Not everyone understands the same level of medical lingo. Nurses need to be able to explain everything to a patient. We specifically go to this hospital, not Ottawa. We go out of our way to go to Morris so we do not have to deal with the Ottawa hospital. read more

No one likes to go to the hospital. It can be a necessary evil (so to speak). I'm grateful that this hospital exists, but I wasn't impressed in any way during my visit there. My father-in-law fell and injured his head. The paramedics brought him in and we followed shortly behind. This review is really limited to our experience in the Emergency Room, so keep that in mind. The parking area on a Friday night was fine. When coming from 47, you have to circle all the way around the building to find the ER entrance. I thought I had missed it twice. The streets around the hospital could use more lights and more signs. The front desk staff is behind a large plate glass window. This seemed odd. They were very impersonal and spent the entire evening gabbing about personal details. Apparently, they think in their tiny waiting area that they can't be heard. The machines beeped constantly. I just spent over a week as an inpatient at another hospital. If the machines are beeping and flashing, they need attention. There could be a kink in tubing or the fluids/meds ran out...something is amiss. This never stopped and made my father-in-law very anxious. We were told that he has a concussion. He lost vision from the fall. But, after making sure he could take two steps, they released him. The man can't see! Did I miss something? I'm not a doctor and I don't play one on tv, but I would have guessed he needed at least 23 hour observation as he had a head injury that cause vision loss. My thoughts? My father-in-law is not a pleasant patient, so they didn't want to deal with him and sent him on his way as fast as possible. Plus, they kicked me out of the room. The sign says two visitors. They barely had any other patients and we were quiet and out of the way. The doctor walked in and before he said anything else, he kicked two of us out of the room. I get that they have rules, but he didn't have to do that. We weren't causing any problems and he barely did anything, so I'm calling power trip. (I felt a bit bitter about being kicked to the curb, can you tell?) Last but not least, they didn't push the wheelchair out of the hospital. They didn't even escort him out! I've been to many hospitals over the years and the staff ALWAYS at least escorts the patient to the curb to the waiting car. They usually push the wheelchair. So in the event of an emergency, you do what you've gotta do, but this hospital didn't give me any warm fuzzy feeling nor did they express empathy when it was needed most. read more

Morris Hospital is tops in my book. It is a small town hospital, and as such, has limitations. However, they know what these limitations are, and when a patient needs more that they can give them there. My granddaughter is alive because the doctors there knew their limitations and transferred her to Loyola. I'm so thankful for them! read more

Went to the Emergency Room because I injured my foot. They asked me what level my pain was and I replied with an 8. They took x-rays and there was no break. I was given a slipper boot. I went at 8 am for my child to be seen by the doctor. My child had temp of 102.5 and every symptom of covid. The doctor wasn't even there yet. Dr. Saeed has been my cardiologist for 6 years. And the first stent he did was my widow maker. He went thru my right arm artery and he stopped in the middle of the proceeder and said he had 3 caese more pressing than mine and rescheduled for 8 days later and gave me a blood clot from the wrist to the elbow and released me like that in extreme pain. Went to the hospital 3 days later with the diagnose. Then he contiued to discount my claims of extreme pain in my left leg for 4 1/2 years. That there was nothing wrong. He kept saying it was my back after havong me do an ultra sound at morris hosptial who never caught the blockage in the abdominal aorta. To say the least ot was 100% blocked and doctor Saeed still refused to treat me for the blockage. That i needed to make an appointment for another month or 2. It took my primary to get him to treat me. After going to the er 2 times before. And they said noth I ng was wrong. If u dont want to live go see Dr. Saeed hes your man for an early death. He doesnt read the results or he doesnt understand them. He had commented to me that he gets an addtional $300,000 a year just for practicing here in the sticks. I have suffered from back pain for years due to Degenerative Disc Disease. I didn't wait for longer than 15 minutes before being seen. The attending ER doc had seen through my history of multiple visits that my condition was chronic. He referred me to a pain management specialist within a network that accepts medicaid, and wrote me an Rx that would see me through to my first visit with Pain Management. It also helped that my MRI report was done at MCH, so he knew I wasn't being deceitful. I was treated with respect and dignity, and will always hold Morris Community Hospital in the highest regards. I was admitted through the ER. I have NEVER experienced such RUDE and disrespectful nurses in my 15 years of intense medical needs. This nurse had to place a tube down my nose into my stomach to retrieve waste matter backing up. I've had this done before at Madison Hospital in WI. I admit it's uncomfortable. But the first time it was done it was done with care and patience. The nurse in this ER screamed at me the entire time. Meanwhile another lady sat next to my bed demanding my medical history while this other person is jamming a tube down my nose. I couldn't speak but that didn't stop medical records lady from asking me questions. She too was yelling at me because I wasn't answering her fast enough. You try to answer questions when you have been throwing up bile for several hours, in complete pain and a little confused from dehydration. Best part of my 3 day stay.....I went down for a CAT scan and when I came back $100 cash was missing from my purse. I know better than to have money with me. But this wasn't a planned visit. My brother brought me there and he left my purse with me. Neither one of us was thinking about my purse because he had my special needs child with him. His focus was on getting me to hospital and making sure my daughter was okay. So blame me for my stupidity.....I blame the thief. The doctors were okay. The nurses on the floor would have been better if they spoke the same language as me. Would have been nice to be able to leave my belongings while in testing and not worry anyone would steal them.
