I was in south bend for work and our conference was at the morris inn, thankfully we were able to stay at the morris inn as well! My room was amazing, the bed was very comfortable and everything was clean and well maintained. You even had a robe you could purchase if you wanted, which was great for a ND fan like me. The staff here was also incredibly polite and I felt very taken care of. The conference spaces were amazing as well, and the food during the conference was delicious! Stayed three nights over a snowy January weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. All staff were most welcoming and helpful. The room was well-appointed with a comfortable bed. Both the hotel restaurant and coffee shop were fine. While room rates were high for South Bend, the location on the Notre Dame campus is unique and suited our purposes for the visit. One surprise was that the students from nearby residence halls use the lobby as a study area, which took some getting used to. read more

SO HIGHLY recommend the Morris Inn! We stopped here on night two of our cross-country drive. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. We were greeted right as we pulled up. They are dog-friendly and even provide a doggy goodie bag at check in. It was quiet (it is winter break, so no college kids on campus and not any prenatal to stay at the inn) and peaceful. It has a nice bakery for the mornings and a bar and restaurant in the evenings. Because we had our dog, we ordered in via DoorDash and then ordered morning room service since we were getting up early to head out on the road. We had an hour left of sunlight when we arrived and had a great time exploring campus. The women who greeted us gave us great advice on which way to go for the highlights of campus. The bed was extremely comfortable and everything was so clean. As a plus, the Christmas decorations were still set up at Morris Inn and all over campus. It was beautiful! We would stay here again 10/10 and will every single time we pass through!! read more

Love The Morris Inn. But they have taken "pet friendly" too far. Dogs everywhere, even in Rohr's. These are not service dogs! Dogs barking in rooms all hours of the day and night. I was not happy to be woken up at 4:30 AM by a barking dog in the room next to me. It's out of control! read more

I just experienced horrible customer service from a manager on the phone that resulted in her hanging up on me. I tried to use a gift certicate and abided by the stimulations on the paper: call for room reservation (there was an available room online) and don't use it on a football or university activity weekend. There is not a home football game or another university event. She claimed there was a wedding and could not give me a reservation; again, rooms were available and a wedding is not a university event. She told me she couldn't do anything--even though she's a manager--and I asked why it wasn't posted on the site--to which she didn't have an answer. She tried to give me different dates, to which I asked if she wasn't accepting my reservation in order to get more money out of the room. This is when she hung up on me. Missing communication on the website, incorrect information on the gift certificate, and rude customer service on phone. read more

Amazing Orecchiette with Butternut Squash, Sage, Ricotta Cheese and I don't know what else but it was so flavorful and delicious. Only problem was everyone wanted to taste it and when they did they all wanted seconds. No problem I ordered another one for the table to share that's how good it was. Judging from the trays going out of the kitchen the big order of the day was the R Burger which was a huge burger on a beautiful bun filled with Cheese and lettuce with tomato. Maybe it was just the easiest to order, it did come with a huge order of fries. Well our table has one of those it was great. We also had an order of baked chicken.... boring!!!!! It looked good and he said it was delicious but come on it did come with parsley potatoes. The grilled salmon was a big hit. It was a nice piece of salmon grilled to perfection. very moist not dry. You can tell this kitchen is run by a master by the way everything came out in a timely manner and it all looked like it was ready for a photo shoot. It was game day so that makes it even more of a challenge. I do wish that they had my favorite carrot soup today but they said not on game weekends. Well I will have to come back, it is sooo good. The remodeled-revamped Morris Inn is REALLY top notch. I liked it before but LOVE what they have done to give it more of that luxury feel. The staff is exceptionally friendly and attentive. We've never stayed here on a game day, but if you are lucky enough to get a room during that time, you'll enjoy your stay. Or if you are in town for another reason during more of an off peak time, stay here instead of off campus. It's nice being right near everything. Only wish we could have stayed longer! Beautiful inn right on campus, wonderful restaurant, clean, safe, friendly staff. Valet parking guy gave us a map and walking directions for our own tour.... . As covid19 pandemic was on going, no tours. But one of the nicest college campus I've ever been to. Beautiful grounds. Room was clean and view was very nice. Safe parking lot for car too! Hopefully we can get back here during better times. But we're glad we got to enjoy it in spite of the covid19. If you're healthy and can walk it's a beautiful place. Pubs off campus and coffee shop are a 1/2 walk. Inn restaurant and pub are excellent too! If you're on a road trip across the country this is a bucket list place! read more

Our final night in South Bend, and our colleague suggested dinner inside the pub area at the Morris Inn on the campus of the University of Notre Dame. We had hoped to stay at the Morris Inn during this visit, but the place had filled up quickly, and we weren't able to secure two rooms at the normally-discounted rates. The Inn is located on the University campus, right along Notre Dame Avenue as you approach the main administration building (with the golden dome). We're told that on football weekends, the Inn quickly sells out, so plan accordingly depending on when you want to visit the campus. The skies opened up, and it poured just before dinner. Thankfully it wasn't about 10 degrees colder, or we would have been shoveling snow to get back to the airport. Nonetheless, we pulled up to the covered portico at the Inn, and the valet welcomed us and pointed us inside towards the main registration desk. We walked around the lobby, and enjoyed the first class amenities of this AAA Four Diamond full-service hotel while waiting for our friend to arrive. I snuck a look inside the main dining room (Sorin's), and was amazed by the beautiful table settings and the great wine list. When Rob arrived, we made our way into Rohr's gastropub on the main floor, and found an open 4-top high table in the bar area. Our waitress was right there with menus, and some recommendations for drinks. Both of the other guys had craft beers, and I had a nice Malbec wine before my dinner. The menu shows a lot of unique pub appetizers, such as smoked whitefish croquettes, white cheddar and corned beef fritters, and a charcuterie platter. They also have soups, salads, homemade pizzas from their wood stone oven, burgers, and entrée plates. There was also a section of the menu called "Irish with a Twist", and I decided to order the Steak and Stout Pie which was served as a small casserole, straight from the oven, and it was made with a mushroom and stout sauce, and topped with horseradish chive mashed potatoes. Delicious food in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Next time we hope to be able to stay upstairs in the rooms. read more

It would be 5 stars except the hotel is well populated with pets and if you are allergic, getting out in a pet room is misery. The front desk did get us moved, just watch out when you reserve. 5 stars definitely go to Grace at Rohr's for being so gracious with guests with high expectations and folks like us who thought 430 on Friday would be simple with no reservation. She worked a miracle for us to be taken care of one of our evenings there. She's a big asset to the place. read more

Stayed here one night for a career fair. Is was very nice, and very clean. Two restaurants in the building, with great service throughout everything. Valet parking is $20 which seems a little steep. The location however is perfect - central campus. It loses a star for me because there was a very high pitched whistle-like sound in my room Off and on throughout the evening, and it was quite subtly annoying... in the kind of way that makes you go insane. I'm sure that is not the case in every room. Also, if you happen to be on campus when it is raining like me, make sure you take advantage of the tunnels between the buildings. There is one that leaves the hotel underground. Very convenient if you are looking to stay dry. read more

THE Place to Stay when Visiting Notre Dame Lovely hotel, operated by the University, directly on the campus of Notre Dame. We were advised to stay here by friends who are Notre Dame alumni and it is a wonderful hotel -- elegant but also lively. The rooms were well appointed and comfortable. I imagine it's difficult to get a reservation many times of the year but we were visiting in February when there were no special events on campus. Still, the place was very lively with students, alumni, and parents. Everyone on staff was so friendly and seemed proud to be part of the Notre Dame family. A pub within the hotel was great. I've been going to Morris Inn for Christmas Day brunch for about 3 years now. Each time I go it's a wonderful experience. They have free valet parking. Their staff members are very welcoming. They offer to take photos and show us around the buffet before we are taken to our tables. They answer all our questions and requests. The food is excellent! They have a wide variety of foods for any diet. They even offer a made to order omelet station. The also offer complimentary mimosas and sparking wines or other beverages with your meal. Because of my experience here, I'd also imagine it would be a great place to stay as well. read more

Probably the nicest hotel to stay at in South Bend. Docking a star only because service in their restaurants (both Rohr's and Sorin's) is a bit lacking, and the valet gouges you unless you want to park 10 minutes away and walk. Otherwise, it's a very lovely hotel with mature decor and understated elegance with blues and golds to signify that you're on campus of a very well-known school. Their gym is a bit small but definitely suffices, but only 2-3 people can comfortably fit at one time (cardio and weights divided into 2 rooms). The lobby is beautiful, the staff is friendly and the rooms are comfortable. The bell hops are especially eager to please! This is definitely the place to stay, especially if you want the proximity convenience! read more

Paul was able to pull strings due to a cancellation and made sure we got the room we wanted. If it wasn't for him we would have been stuck scrambling for a hotel near by. I came here for work, and this place is amazing! They recently rebuilt the hotel from the ground up last summer, and after working with buildings for a good chunk of my life, I can confirm that they spared no expense. Each rooms has a fridge, at least a spa style bathroom, and a lounger to lay out on, with a flat screen tv and in room Ipad. While the Ipad is a bit gimmicky, it's a nice touch to be able to see where things are in the campus, and for events, it could be a great way for guests to have messages and reminders automatically sent to their rooms. The staff was gracious and helpful, while not being overly talkative. The beds were amazingly comfortable, and I didn't want to leave in the morning! Being right on campus is great as well, and the surrounding area is gorgeous. It's like staying at Hogwarts. The food is fantastic, and I can't wait to come back and stay again! read more

I had the pleasure of staying at the Morris Inn for a conference last week. I have stayed at other campus hotels for conferences, so my expectations were not set too high. Upon check-in my expectations were blown away! I was greeted by a very friendly and warm bell hop asking if I needed help with my luggage. I politely declined and proceeded to check-in. The process was very smooth and efficient. I had my room key and was off in less than 2 minutes. Upon entering my room I quickly discovered that this was no ordinary campus hotel room. This was more along the lines of a Westin property. Each room has a complimentary iPad for the guest to use. Upon start up the iPad was customized to welcome me personally. There was information on the hotel as well as things to do in the area and restaurants to eat at. The room was nicely decorated and each had a fairly large flat screen TV in the room. There is complimentary WiFi for each guest which covers pretty much the entire campus. There are snacks available in the room and I must admit the prices were fairly reasonable! The bathrooms were very nice! The showers are spacious! The only complaint I would have is that since each shower had glass doors there is a small gap between the door and the fixed pane of glass. It was just enough to allow the shower water to splash through, so if you do not put anything on the floor you will be greeted with a nice sized puddle upon exiting the shower! My only complaint is the valet parking. I know they will tell you that there is free parking just a short 5 minute walk from the hotel, but there is more than enough parking for the hotel guests in the parking lot right next to the property. From what I could see there was no reason to make this parking lot valet other than making more money off of their guests. Coming from the Chicago area $15 was very reasonable, I equate valet parking with limited availability in parking...I did not see that here. If you are visiting Notre Dame and need a nice place to stay close to campus this place is awesome!! However, I would have given this property 4.5 stars if Yelp would provide that option due to the unnecessary valet parking. read more

Completely renovated in the past year, the Morris Inn is now a beautiful, updated, welcoming hotel on Notre Dame's campus. The beds are so effing comfortable that I contemplated skipping breakfast to continue sleeping in. I ALMOST SKIPPED BREAKFAST. If you know me, that is a pretty serious statement. My second favorite part is the giant shower. Standing under the waterfall shower head was such a delight. That sounds a little weird, but it's true. The room is comfortable, the views of campus are very pretty, even the hotel carpet is fancy without the usual gaudiness. Morris Inn staff is so genuinely sweet and accommodating that it affects your mood. You find yourself smiling at strangers, holding open doors, and enjoying the entire experience of being here. It's like a Disney movie, it really is. I wanted to stay here forever because of the cloud of happiness that permeates MI. read more

The Morris Inn was the last stop on my weekend adventure to Notre Dame for the 9th annual Edith Stein Project conference. After a long day of philosophical panels and presentations, the conference organizers and friends met at Notre Dame's on-campus inn for university visitors. The lobby is elegantly appointed, and has the feel of a recently renovated space. The furniture was striking, in shades of blue and gold. The Morris Inn restaurant Sorin was a pleasant place for drinks and dessert. Unfortunately, some members of the group were under twenty one, and it was a pain to have to reorganize the restaurant's furniture in the overly-lit entryway portion of the restaurant. I thought the rule was a tad on the absurd side, but I was forced to comply, as Notre Dame in February is covered with two feet of snow, and it wasn't worth my safety to relocate to a more accommodating bar in South Bend. My reservations were over the "nickle and diming" of guests. They have a monopoly on the campus location, and in a low-class move, they decided to use that fact to screw the guests. It starts when you pull up to the door and they want $15 to park your car only a few feet away. Your only option is to drive to a lot 10 minutes away and walk back through the South Bend elements. Really? You pay $140 for a room and you're not allowed to even park your car there? I've stayed at $49. fleabag hotels where a complimentary continental breakfast is included. But for $140 you get the privilege of paying another $15 per person for the Morris Inn breakfast. Again, even $49 hotels give you parking and a continental breakfast, so why does the Morris Inn have to screw with you this way? It's beneath the class of Notre Dame. read more

Just had the most wonderful stay at the Morris Inn. We were at ND to celebrate a wedding and had the opportunity to stay. I was upset when we got there because we ended up right off the elevator and I typically have terrible insomnia while traveling, however the bed was one of the best I've ever slept in (we were joking that we wanted to tie it to our car to go home, or just move into the inn), and the walls are thick. I couldn't hear the ding of elevator or voices outside. Shower had hot, hot and powerful water pressure and was very spacious (though a bench would have been a nice added touch). Sorins had delicious food, especially the crepes with a side of Greek yogurt and Murph just celebrated 50 years as bartender at Rohr's. Just make sure you order before his ND girls or guys are on the because he is a true supporter and you'll have to wait for a commercial! He make a great Bloody Mary too! Stayed here last night. 7/12/18. Touring Notre Dame with my son. The hotel was beautiful. Our room was light, bright and spacious. I didn't hear any noise from other guests or from other rooms. The restaurant, Rohr's, was so good! The appetizer sliders and bacon wrapped bacon medallions are a MUST TRY. The sandwiches and fries are equally delicious. The pear spread and goat cheese pizza was also DELICIOUS! Oh, and the BOMBSHELL dessert was not only scrumptious, but so beautiful and quite a fancy dessert! You have to try it. The entire hotel staff were overly accommodating and very pleasant to us throughout our stay. I heard that you should book a room a year to 15 months in advance if you want to stay here for graduation. Also, if you are here visiting, go over and try out the south dining hall on campus. The food is incredible! You will die at the plethora of food options and dessert choices. I waddled my way back to the hotel room after lunch. Anyway, the hotel is wonderful and definitely a five star effort by every employee. read more
