Did the full-day trip on the Rogue with Morrison's for the second year in a row and had another incredible time. Both years we were lucky enough to get Pat as a guide and he is just the best. I choose them because hey bring IKs to share for no extra charge. Such fun to run rapids on your own with the safety of a big raft in front of and behind you and to not being committed to paddling all day yourself. This trip I was in the IK for Hellsgate and it was unforgettable. The other reason we choose them is I love the stop for lunch at Morrison's Lodge. That lunch on their patio is just so lovely and the food is so very, very good. read more

In summer 2017, my family (and one other) rented 2 "full meal deal" rafts for a 3 day private trip on the Rogue. I have rented rafts from various outfitters before and the equipment and service from Morrison's was the best I've ever experienced. Very high-quality rafts, twin dry boxes, extra large industrial strength coolers, and superb service all the way through from email questions months before, to meeting at the shop the morning of put in. Their service of delivering rafts on a trailer to put in, and collecting you at takeout with all of your gear and driving it and your raft team back to Merlin, is a great service and an excellent deal if you do not want to hassle with loading up rafts, trailer, separate and expensive shuttle, etc. The shuttle road, at least in 2017, was a long, steep and gravel for much of it, so put the wear and tear on someone else's vehicle, not your own. :-) We even managed to break an oar in Mule Creek Canyon, and this was quickly dealt with when we returned the equipment for what I thought was a very fair repair price. (Tip for rowing Mule Creek: keep the oars in the boat, bounce off rocks gently, and enjoy the ride.) Overall, excellent service and equipment, and I will absolutely rent from them again the next time I'm on the Rogue river. read more

First time rafter and would do this full day trip again in a minute. Everything was well organized and professional. Fast check in, on the river in 30 minutes. Our guide Elias was young, enthusiastic, obviously loved his job and his objective (besides our safety) was for us to have a blast,,,and we did. Two 60 year old geezers splashing around floating and swimming down the river. Lunch was nice and relaxed at their river front lodge. Four days of HIKING was absolutely beautiful and our guides JBlue and Ryan were the BEST. Lodges were rustic as expected and very clean and comfortable. Stayed prior and post hike nights at Morrison's because of advertised four course gourmet dinners. What a disappointment dinners were. The "second course" on both nights consisted of orange sweet rolls which were very good but would have been perfect for breakfast and not considered a dinner course. However, the dinner the guides cooked for us the second night at Black Bar Lodge was the BEST meal of the entire trip!! Food at other lodges just OK. Most items prepared were overcooked. That being said, the hiking part of the trip and guide prepared lunches brought my rating back up to 4 stars. Be prepared to hike more than the trail miles each day as you will be hiking down to river for breaks and lunch and then back up to trail as well as hiking off the trail to the lodges and any exploring you might want to do. It is not a trail you can really take your time on as you need to be on time for breaks and lunch and then checking in. I was walking quite fast but I'm 70 so it may not be considered fast for younger people. I clocked 44 hiking miles over the four days and 5 miles on the river raft the last day. Yes, I would do this again and have recommended it to friends. read more

Our family of four (our kids are ages 18 and 16) did a four day trip with three nights of camping on the Rogue River. This was an outstanding family adventure, which was well planned by the guides. They provided us with three meals per day, set and broke down our tents. We felt very safe on the river and our guide team was very experienced. On May 23 - 27, 2022, I went on a river rafting and hiking adventure with Morrison's on a 4 day trip down the Rogue River. It was a once in a lifetime fabulous adventure trip that I would highly recommend for travelers to put on their bucket list! Every day you are at a different, woodsy, remote lodge, while you are making your way down the river. If you are very lucky you will have Josh Blue (JB) as your trip leader. I can't say enough superlatives about what a great leader he is. The logistics are incredibly detailed with packing up the boats with all our duffle bags in dry bags, packing all the snacks and lunches to float down the river, and meet up with the hikers. Everything is organized to a T, yet there is a sense of fun and spontaneity too. JB is a very fun character that made all our group of 16, laugh and enjoy each moment of this joyful adventure! With JB as the trip leader, everything went smoothly and efficiently while everyone had a big smile! Mike is another awesome addition to this crew who guided us along these class 2 and 3 rapids with strength and ease, and made me feel completely safe! He's really fun to be with too! Soren was a terrific guide also, helping us all along the way and she has a super personality. Kevin was amazing taking all the huge packs and food supplies down the river with some very intriguing stories to tell. Wow! Did I say the food was excellent, plentiful, tasty and presented really nicely. The accommodations were comfy and fulfilled our needs, while what stood out was the absolutely beautiful settings and lovely surroundings. If you have the opportunity to go on a multi day rafting trip with Morrison's, and JB as trip leader, please don't hesitate to take it. This is the 3rd year I've done the Rogue River 2nd year with Morrisons. Guides are the best and they are 100% the reason we come back every year! Chris, Brent, Bama, Joshua, and Greg were amazing!! I highly recommend the 3 day lodging trip to anyone BUT this was the 2nd year in a row we've has transportation issues. TIME FOR SOME NEW VANS!!! Last year a tire blew coming off the river and this year the van was literally smoking from the steering column. We parked our vehicles in their lot while rafting. We also received quite a bit of help in planning and implementing our trip, above and beyond the rental. The shuttle service was excellent in both directions and extraordinarily prompt. We did a five day float from Alameda put in to Foster Bar. The equipment was in excellent condition. read more

I have used outfitters in Tennessee, Colorado and Costa Rica. RWA is a top notch outfitter. I brought my 7 y.o. son who is not a strong swimmer but his second white water rafting trip, and my wife who has never been on a raft. Safety of equipment to caliber of the guide is second to none. They use the best rafting equipment, swimming vests, short wave communications, and life vest that are available. The drivers were attentive and vans and buses were clean, and well maintained with very good AC on a 107 degree day. Our guide started rafting the Rogue at age 8, and answered every question accurately about nature, the waters etc. The food was organic, and quite exceptional. My only ding on the stars if I were to dig a star is the location of the lunch is limited to one picnic table, for 18-22 guests. They can do better than that. Plus when I went in 2014 there was a severe draught. Even though the Rogue is damn controlled, it was clear the class 3+ Argo was barely a class 2 rapid. I don't care if the rapid is traditionally a 3+, if its not during a draught, be honest about it. So yes, there was an integrity issue when I asked if the draught was affecting the classification of the rapid. Also, if you taking the whole day trip, the first have is very tame; we were the only raft doing it. The other four rafts only took the afternoon trip which has the more exciting rapids. If you like floating along side the raft in calm waters, take the morning trip, but if you are just out for the rapids, just take the afternoon trip. read more

GREAT INTRO TO RAFTING I'm a rafting newbie so it was important for me to find a safe, reputable operation for my first time out. Rogue seemed like the best option in the Grants Pass / Medford area and the Yelp discount was the icing on the cake. I found them very professional and accomodating and I loved that they had inflatable kayaks. The half-day trip was very tame with class 1 & 2 rapids, but the kayaks made those 1s & 2s a lot of fun. If I had to do it again, I'd definitely go with Rogue, but on one of their more challenging trips. The scenery is gorgeous so don't forget to bring your waterproof camera! read more

Searching online there were many companies to choose from so I randomly picked Rogue Wilderness because their website was easy to navigate and was generally appealing. I'm so happy I went with them. We decided to do the 1/2 day afternoon trip since I'm a wuss when it comes to being cold. Our day started off with a warm greeting by the awesome staff and owner at the Rogue Wilderness office. They were all fun and professional while helping us get set up for our trip. Once we were ready Brand the owner drove us and our fantastic guide Jeremy to the section of the river where we met up with the full day rafters and their excellent guide Natalie. My boyfriend was worried about losing his sunglasses and was bummed he forgot to buy a neck strap thingy back at the office. Brad took the neck strap off is own sunglasses to let my boyfriend use. Like I said, everyone was awesome! Jeremy gave us the choice of riding together in a group raft or taking out single kayaks. I wanted to try going out alone but was pretty nervous since it would be my first time going through the rapids in a kayak. Jeremy was super reassuring and reminded me that at any point I could ditch the kayak for the group raft. I'm so glad I didn't chicken out! I had a blast navigating the rapids on my own. Lunch was served along the way, I was pleasantly surprised we were not served pre-made sack meals. They had a great spread consisting of all the fixing needed to make salads, sandwiches, or wraps with potato salad, corn salad, and other various sides. A girl in the group was celebrating her birthday so Rogue Wilderness served birthday cake after lunch, super cool! Once everyone finished enjoying a piece of delicious cake we got back on the river to finish our trip. Shortly before the end of the trip Natalie and Jeremy guided us to a swimming hole where the water was a little warmer than the river so people who wanted could swim for a bit. I highly recommend Rogue Wilderness for their enthusiasm, fun guides, great food and overall wonderful service. read more

Multi-day rafting trip was as good as expected, if not better, and we had high expectations! Food was great, of course the river and scenery were awesome. I'd say the biggest positive is the guides. It must be hard to find people who are really good at the actual guiding part and keeping people safe but who are also good conversationalists, easygoing and fun. We played rafting games like freeze tag and capture the flag (or if you are in the tricky group like I was, capture the oars.) The guides get to know you, and the food is always amazing. We took the 3 day rafting / lodge trip. We were a party of 6 and thus had our own boat. Haley, Trish, and Joe guided the trip. They're young, fun, experienced, and awesome at their craft. Trish,( Fish ) was our raft pilot. She'll play in a heartbeat, and was was great to be with. The lodge food was home style, abundant, and delicious. Marial Lodge, being our favorite. We highly recommend this trip, company, and group of guides. Oh.... (almost forgot) when you go, be sure not to miss meeting the river's living historian ( relic ... lol ) " Bob " Note: The guides were " 5 Star " no doubt, and tip worthy. However, for the price of the trip we were somewhat surprised at the numerous indirect tip requests we found starting in our room at Morrison's. It was great meeting Brad and his staff. I went with RWA because of the great reviews and here is yet another one for you Brad, just as we discussed. Our group had six people in it with two rafts and two kayaks. I spent all of my time in a kayak for this day trip down the river. My wife helped paddle a raft, two others were in the couch boat and the others took turns in the other kayak. Jeremy and Brendon were great guides and helped to keep the trip down river interesting by pointing out wildlife, scenery on shore and in the water and explained about the rapids we were navigating through. They made us a deli style lunch preparing deli sliced lunch meat, fresh cut tomato, lettuce, onion, cucumber, melons, potato salad, drinks and dessert, several different breads and wraps with condiments and chips. Been on 2 trips with them. Just finished the full day trip, an did the 2 day trip 2 years ago. Their food is good, the guides provide excellent service. This year was my 10 year old sons first whitewater trip. (He finally learned how to swim well enough to make me comfortable with him out there). The class 2+3 rapids on the 1 day trip are great fun, and I think they worked out great as an introduction for him. My daughter, who isn't nearly as adventurous as my son or I loved both the multi day and the single day trip. It's lots of very wet fun. Highly recommended. read more

Our trip with Morrison's was fantastic and I would reccomend them to others looking for a great rafting experience. Our group of 4 took the 3 day camping trip and we were wishing we had more time on the river as our we approached the take out. All the guides were professional, knowledgeable, and fun as were the support team in camp. The trip had about 20 guests and the crew did a great job of creating a seamless experience with little required of the guests in terms of setting up or taking down camp. The rafts are set up with the guides on a rear oar rack and the guests helping out with paddles. There were also a few inflatable kayaks to play with and everyone shared nicely (do plan to try one out as they are super fun). The food is good and plentiful and our vegetarian friends found their dishes to be excellent. I would recommend that you get the upgraded camping package if you want a little more privacy and comfort. Don't hesitate to book with Morrison's, you'll be glad you did! read more

Top notch outfit. We signed up for the wiking (wine hiking) and wafting (wine rafting) excursion. The hiking was challenging, but doable, and if you wanted to rest you could enjoy the wafting along the scenic river. The rapids were what we expected and we felt extremely safe with our experienced and knowledgeable river guides, Russell and Taylor. Taylor's ability to weave a story and highlight the history of the region is unmatchable. Russell's dry wit and guitar playing was a fun match. We really enjoyed the teachings and enthusiasm from our wine sommelier and cheerleader, Liz Winn. My only recommendation would be to introduce a few more reds from both the Southern Oregon or Willamette Valley regions for the next group of wine enthusiasts. This was without a doubt the highlight of our vacation. Our guide was incredible, making our large family party feel like we were embarking on an adventure, but still safe. We had a range of ages in our group, from grandchildren to grandparents and this was an appropriate trip for all of us to take together. For most of our group, this was our first rafting experience and one that I think has given a few of the younger ones a taste for it. Rogue Wilderness Adventures is amazing. They provide excellent service and a great experience. I rafted with them in 2008 and had an amazing time. We had a group of 12 or so people and all the guides were very skilled and friendly. Camps were well setup and the food was great. They also provide a shuttle service for those backpacking the Rogue River Trail. I had an interesting request in that I needed my car shuttled to Foster Bar boat launch but also I need a shuttle to Marial Lodge because I only had 3 days and couldn't do the full trail. Brad, the owner, was very accomodating and worked out a trip for me even though they'd never done something like that before. Shannon helped set it up and she was wonderful to work with. Frank gave us the 2hr ride out to Marial. He was very friendly, showed us some view spots on the way, and answered lots of questions about the river. At the end of our trip, our car was in the parking lot waiting for us. All in all it was fantastic service. I highly recommend Rogue Wilderness Adventures if you need a good rafting guide or car shuttle service for backpacking! read more
