Decent place to camp at for the night. Nice feel good environment surrounded by other happy campers. Available for both tent camping and trailer campers. I'm still in the tent camping community wich I love. Affordable, friendly service, clean, showers available w warm water, walking distance to the ocean with in a 100 yards, my favorite also walking distance 10 min walk to the coffee shops and all good all round. We booked two sites about eight months in advance and were told by the girl who works in the office that we were being given some of the best sites in the park. Then the owner, Larry, called us a couple of weeks before our arrival and asked us to switch sites. Telling us that the ones we had booked were no good and the ones he wanted us in were much better. We declined. Glad we did. The sites he wanted us to switch to were half the size of the ones that we already had. He was just trying to gaslight us so that someone else could have our spots. Once we got there the entire back half of our site was completely flooded preventing us from backing in all the way. Fortunately it dissipated quickly. When we mentioned it to Larry he said that we would have to "talk to God about that". They do have showers on site but the hot water didn't work. When my wife went to the office to mention it to them she was told that we were doing it wrong and the way to do it is to turn on the hot water faucet that is on the outside of the bathroom until hot water comes out and then go to the shower and turn on the hot water. I don't know why we didn't think of that. By the second day of that we were told that the water heater was broken and there would be no more hot water until it was fixed. That didn't happen during the remainder of our stay. Lastly, my daughter and her partner had four storage totes stacked neatly in front of their rv and Larry came over and very rudely told her that they couldn't have those there and that "this isn't a storage facility". Completely ignoring the other campers there who also had totes outside of their rigs. Overall we were very happy to be in Morro Bay but next time we're there we'll seek accommodations elsewhere. Between the facilities being kept in a state of disrepair and, most of all, Larry we have no desire to stay in that park again. read more

Unfortunately Chris the camp host called the cops on us because we left our dogs on a cool cloudy day in their insulated water provided kennels in the back of the truck while we ran in to get food for 30 minutes. He called it in under "anonymous" but the only way the cops could have called our phone number was from the camp host Chris giving it to them. Additionally, our camp neighbors saw him talking to the cops. Morro Bay Strands never called us to let us know the dogs couldn't be in a kennel in the back of the truck, Chris the camp host just automatically called the cops. When the cops called us they said "have you seen your dogs today?" And we said, well yes we were just with them, we wanted to grab some food and we will be right back. So Chris the camp host had them believing that we had neglected our dogs, which he knew we hadn't as our trailer was next to his, and he was in his trailer all day with his partner. At the minimum, we should have received a phone call, instead, the cops were called on us. Thankfully our awesome neighbors talked to the cops and told them we were with the dogs all day. When we got back I would think again at the minimum the camp host would approach us and let us know why they called the cops, Chris did not do that, he avoided us for the rest of our stay. It really ruined our trip and we will never stay there again. read more

Adequate. Located next to an industrial yard and close to the local high school, so there's traffic. Park 1 has more space than Park 2. In the case of Park 2, it may be necessary to park on the street outside the property. Spaces are very small, but there are full hookups. Not far from town or the beach but not on it, either. Always love our stay here! We come every year for a week, and this year we stayed for two weeks. The park is clean and well maintained. Very close to downtown and the ocean. And the staff is amazing! We have stayed here many times, and at both Park 1 and Park 2. Park 1 is a lot more roomy than Park 2. We definitely felt a shift in the atmosphere this last time we stayed. I felt a little micromanaged and felt like we were being hovered over from the manager. We decided to just spend the entire day/night in town or on the beach. As we packed up and hooking up the trailer, plenty of people who were parked beside us asked us if we had felt the shift. Two people cut their 3 day trip into an overnight trip and if I didn't have my kiddos I probably would have done the same. read more

I thought it would be closer to the beach, not up high on a cliff top. The staff was nice, bathrooms clean. The campground is in a forest and you must walk down a steep path to get to the beach. Some sites provide water and electricity. There is. Dump station on the way out for $10. read more

We selected 5 starts because LOCATION! This park is a short block walk to the stunning Morro Bay beach, and an easy walk to the Morro Rock and the embarcedero shops, restaurants, etc. The owners were friendly and the laundry room was convenient. The sunsets were magnificent. The price was reasonable. The sites are tightly spaced so you don't have a lot of "yard space" and there is an industrial park next door which meant the view wasn't great, but it was quiet, comfortable and location, location, location! read more

We also have had a Rude lady in the past, but this time that we were there we met the owner "Larry, such a pleasant man" and he told us that lady was NO LONGER working there, (Thank You Jesus!!) Take site 1 if you can, you only have one close neighbor, you have nice ocean view, you're closer to the beach, easy in n out. The sites are all close to each other, there are sites in the middle of the parking lot, if you go further into the campground, it becomes super crowded and loud. Lots of people just trying to escape the city for a few days. Not the campground I would stay at unless it's just for one night, and that's what it was for us. All the sites have fire pits, close by bathrooms, I didn't see showers. Bathrooms can be cleaner, you have running water, you're practically on the beach, you have a nice view of Morro Rock...but if you turn around you also have a view of homes and Highway 1, hmmm... We had reserved our site 4 months in advance for 3 nights (which I understand was lucky). We were told we may possibly have to move to a different site on the third night. We were really impressed with how large the sites were in Park 1. Park 2 where our friends stayed, were so tight they could barely get there trailer in, plus there were people living there that were actually bumming off our friends for beer and other things. On the 3rd day, a exceptionally rude gal working the front desk said we did have to move 4 sites down. We weren't thrilled but had been warned. The site was exactly the same size just 4 down. The next morning our old site was still vacant. She obviously has never pulled a trailer let alone a 40ft trailer to know the hassle. The area the park is located is nice with an easy 2 mile walk into town. No ocean views but the beach is close. read more

Oh my God! Worst RV park I've EVER stayed at, and I spend my summers traveling so I've stayed in ALOT of RV parks. Whatever you do...DO NOT STAY IN LOT 2! Super small spaces, no fire rings, no grass anywhere, and this particular lot is packed with full-time "residents," complete with broken down cars on blocks, pit-bulls, and the ever present stench of marijuana smoke. Yes, I realize this is Kalifornia, but I don't want to go on vacation and smell weed smoke the entire time. Every other RV park in town was full, so I was stuck here. The spaces are seriously so small I couldn't even put my awning out. That's a small space! Never again!! Lot 1 across the street looked much better, but it was also full, so we were SOL. So in summary, if you're looking at this RV park for your trip, DO NOT STAY IN LOT 2. No joke.... I do however have to add that it appears the management tries hard to keep this lot clean. It's obvious they spend alot of time maintaining it, which I give them credit for. That being said...if they took out half the spaces and made the remaining ones even halfway comfortable and got rid of the mopes who ruin it for everyone else, this would be a much better place. Sites in the main park are huge and wonderful. However, there is large size gravel in every space and no grass or shade. Very windy in October so most of the time we couldn't have our awning out and the sun shines on our trailer all day. The park is very clean and the maintenance guy was busy keeping it up all day. This park is very quiet, but most people seem to stay in their trailers or rigs. They boast as a dog friendly park, but the biggest con was there was no place for dogs to go and it is prohibited to have them potty in the park. So you have to walk them down the main road to a lot to go potty. Not fun when it is dark or raining. The public showers are the weirdest I have ever seen in an RV park... three tiny showers (women's) one shower has a curtain you can pull across for privacy when you get out of the shower. The rest are wide open to the rest of the bathroom. You can pull a curtain across the doorway, but the high school gym shower effect is not for me. Overall not a bad park, but the grumpy check in guy is the pits. Mya was wonderful and friendly. Not sure I would stay here again, the State park would be a better option for me. Great access to the beach and a nice walk or bike ride in to Morro Bay. read more

Second year staying here and we Booked again this year to give it another shot! These people are so incredibly rude. They are NOT family friendly and do not like kids! This park should be for 55 and older only. Kids were running around outside and playing last year when we stayed and we were told our kids were being "distructive" and "to loud" Mind you it was middle of the day and they were playing tag with other stayers. This year my toddler and my niece were with me doing laundry in the laundry room and we had The door cracked open because it was hot in the room.. the kids were giggling and laughing because my toddler was making funny faces and the gal in the office stormed out to let them know they needed to be quit because she was on the phone! (She could have closed the office Door) Kids can not be kids at this park and they can't even laugh wrong at 11am! Regular use spots are TINY also. Will never book here again, yet they can care less because they know they'll be booked out read more

I called to cancel our reservation due to our house being flooded. Since their office hours are only 10:00 to 3:00, I missed them. I left a message and then followed up to be sure they received our cancellation. She said she had then stated: since it was such short notice we will be charging you for one night. I stated we gave them more than 48 hours, which I believed to be their policy. She stated, no, our cancellation policy is 14 days! FOURTEEN DAYS! I stated we had an emergency. She stated well if it had been seven days maybe but 14 days is policy. If you have ANYWHERE ELSE to stay, go there! These people and their policies are ridiculous. read more

The way this campground does reservations is chaotic and horrible. I booked two reservations 3 months out from arrival. Got confirmations for both. About a month after, I got an email confirming a site change for one reservation. I had booked our sites to be close to each other so I called and the extremely rude lady on the phone didn't even know what I was talking about. Apparently she had changed someone else's reservation which impeded on our reserved site, bumping us across the park. I told her that I booked two reservations and when you have a group, often you purposely want to be together. She said she would move me back and send me a confirmation. Never got it. Had a feeling I should call ahead a couple days from arrival to make sure everything was good. I was told that one reservation was only listed as staying one night! Then, the lady on the phone had the audacity to argue with me that I wasn't looking at my confirmation paperwork correctly. I went back-and-forth with her and told her that both of my confirmations stated I was staying four nights for each site. She then was making excuses that she wasn't the one who made the mistake and would have to wait for another lady to come in at the end of the day to fix it. I asked her if she could call this lady and have her fix it over the phone because you can't just pack up and leave the next day to go camping. You need some prep time. She refused to call the woman because "it's her only day off". In the end the first woman tried to fix it by moving us to two new sites that were next to each other but the second reservation had to move spots for the 4th night. We found out when we got to the park that the people she bumped to move us next to each other we're pretty pissed. The lady flat out told me on the phone that they are in the business of keeping the park full. I told her that is horrible customer loyalty because why would you want to book as a group just to be separated? Money talks more than customer loyalty to them. And, customer service is not even something you should expect from here. So many people we talk to at the park had been pumped from original sites. Horrible business practice. No other park I've been to does business this chaotic. Do not book in this campground with a group unless you are OK being separated from your original plan. They don't care. They are in the business of keeping every site full whether it means you loving your experience and coming back or not. read more

We stayed for 7 days in the worst of conditions February . They failed to tell us there is a major construction project next door that starts at 7am until 3:30pm Monday thru Friday. Construction workers begin arriving at 6:30 am. The noise and dust is ruthless and sitting outside was not an option. We were in space 20. Went to the office for an explanation of why we were not told about this. The rude and condescending attitude was unbelievable. She said they were not obligated to disclose and it was NOT their problem. So, the all mighty buck is all that matters here and we will NEVER return! AND, we WILL relay our experience to all our friends and family. A big "F" is our rating. read more

This use to be our favorite place to go in Morro Beach, but.....the new staff there are so rude!

I stayed here just last weekend with my girlfriend for Morro Bay's annual Crusin' Morro Bay car show held the first weekend in May. I brought my '65 Cardinal trailer down to sleep in. It was very quiet and the bathrooms and showers were kept clean. An though I didn't use them I checked out the laundry facility, also very clean. They had no issues with the age of my trailer though I'm told some of the other parks do. I was told that the park is about 3/4 of a mile from town so we took our bikes down. We were going to ride Embarcadero all of the way in but at the time there was road construction that took out the bridge. We walked around it instead. We later found a trail on our way to Main St that bypasses all of the traffic and drops you off in a quieter section. Very convenient. There are two sections of the park and I stayed in section two since my trailer was smaller. The driveway was narrow and it took a few tries to get my trailer backed into the site close enough to the power and water connections. I just bought the trailer last year and haven't used it a whole lot yet. My backing in skills are lacking but that should change soon. ;) Anyway, I thought it was a good deal in an expensive town. read more

Nice place they keep it clean. The internet is not so good. They have all the hook ups that you need. They have cable. We had trouble with that at first with the cable. We could only get 7 stations although some people get more. It says they offer 27 stations. This was our first time bringing our New Travel Trailer out. I would recommend this place just call in advance if you need a large space for you RV or Travel Trailer. Price was reasonable. read more

We stayed in Lot 2 and yes, the spaces are close together but we were fortunate to have one of the end spaces (#11) so had ample space for our RV and had room to park a vehicle but we weren't towing a vehicle. The park was very clean and it only appeared that there were a couple of long term campers in the park. Having full hook ups including sewer was very convenient. Park was clean and quiet and would definitely return. Proximity to the trolley in to town was excellent. Mia was very helpful from the reservation process through check-in. We had reservations for 3 days at a nearby RV resort but we arrived ahead of schedule so we called and were told a space was available at Morro Strand for one night. We were on the end in section 2 and there was an odor coming from the sanitation plant across the street. Not overbearing but enough to make us limit outdoor activities. We ate with doors closed and retired, and the next morning we didn't smell anything so assume the wind shifted in our favor. Space was fairly large and restrooms and laundry were nice and clean. Nearby beach and park was a plus also. We would stay here again if in the area. read more

We had a very memorable experience we stayed two nights and three days at this Rv park. We were here to celebrate my husbands 60 th birthday and Father's Day we did reservations with Maya and had very good accommodations with our reservations made sure that she had complete knowledge we had family joining us here. We also had my family here meeting us and renting rv spots near us. We did get a little loud the first night and was yelled at to quite down which understandably we closed up shop after being told. That's Fine the next night we had a family bbq in celebrating my husbands birthday. Had a fabulous night! Next morning Father's Day got up and was making a toast in our rv to celebrate my husband and brother being fathers. Got a knock on the door from a short hair rude ass lady saying she wanted to speak with us ... on parking. My husband and myself and brother n law came out to talk with her. She was very abrasive and completely rude and stated we hit the bbq which was tilted and hit prior to getting here. My brother n law parked in front of which was guided by all of us in parking there in making sure he didn't hit his very expensive and lifted truck. We tried to assure her we didn't hit the stupid bbq and wouldn't do that. She was completely not here if us and said what she said and left. All I know is you should not speak to people like that when you are in the hospitality business and completely ruined our morning here! I definitely will be careful about staying here again!! read more

SO RUDE!! My sister removed one of their posts to drive her trailer in because the road was blocked. They put the post back in right away and NOTHING was damaged. Two ladies came out yelling and cursing saying my sister had to leave and she wasn't welcome there and how dare they come in and remove the pole and my dad tried to explain to her how he's been coming here practically since they opened and she replied "I don't give a shit". I'm not saying my sister was right in removing the pole but that was a VERY unprofessional way to handle the situation. She even called the police in the morning to escort them out telling the police "I don't even want them to have breakfast here". Even the police were shocked. My parents have been coming here forever and NONE of my family or friends will ever come back here!!!!! read more

We stayed in this RV Park for New Year's Eve and longer. Location is everything and we were minutes from Morro Rock, the Dumes Beach, and could walk or bike to the charming downtown. It was very clean and staff welcomed us the minute we arrived and gave us tips on getting to the beach and the nice park nearby. We have a large dog and it is very dog friendly. The Treatment Center and High School nearby were NOT an issue at all. Morro Strand RV Park is well maintained and everyone very friendly. We loved it. read more

Customer service is horrible. We have felt the rude direct tone with every interaction we have had with her. Last time we parked there we read where my space was on the after hours check in. It was the same space number we had been told on the phone when we made the reservation. We had parked and was set up and she yelled across the road, you're in the wrong space. We had to pack up everything again and move to the next space over. We walked over to the board and I saw that she had changed the space #. It's really not worth being disrespected on the phone and in person. We used to stay here a lot, but we just had my last conversation with this business. We still believe in being kind to others, and there are other options for RV parks in this area. We would recommend going anywhere else. read more

After a very bad experience at a park in Pismo involving not getting a promised site, we took a Saturday day trip looking for an alternate park. This facility looked great. A deluxe site (70' x45') was coming open for the period we desired. We jumped on it. Stayed for a week. WiFi was initially very strong, but became rather sporadic over the weekend. Roof mounted satellite TV had plenty of clearance. Park was very quiet, mostly retired, as are we. Winds can get pretty strong in Morro. The park offered pretty good protection even when gusts were reported at 65 mph in the immediate area. The park was a little far for walking to Morro's tourist shops & restaurants, but a very easy drive to everything, including Hearst Castle. read more

This rv park is not for the loud party crowd. It is very mellow and quiet. Our family rented an rv and came down to morrow bay. We were all very happy with the park. Very close to the beach, the showers and bathrooms were very clean , a little shop for necessities, 50amp hookups, the trolley was right out front if needed. I do NOT recommend Lot 2, never seen a tighter campground ever. We have a Dodge full-length truck pulling a 21' trailer and if the neighbors across from us had THEIR pull-vehicle in their spot, I don't know how we could have hooked up. Our one slide-out had to be positioned VERY carefully to fit between the power pole and bumper pole to fit. With the truck backed in just far enough to get the bumper off the driveway, I could barely open the side hatches to get out camping gear. We've been trailering for over 11 years and this was our worst camping experience. Lot 2 is downwind from a cement plant (diesel smell) and the sanitation plant for Morro Bay (sewer smell). But if you get one of the bigger sites across the street in Lot 1, you would probably have an O.K. time. You are walking distance from the beach. read more

We have been staying here since 2011. It's a good place to stay, the price is right and the spaces are roomy. The only thing I don't really like is the gravel. It would be nice to add grass and a few trees to the middle of the park. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Will stay here again. read more
