We LOVED this place! We were thrilled that we were able to call only a few days prior to a weekend booking and reserved a 2 night full hook up spot for our 22 foot RV. The cost was only around $72 a night. We liked that part of the layout are spaces in small cul-de-sacs, with plenty of space, and restrooms/showers close by. The best part is that you have beach access from your cul-de-sac where you have a small walk accross the road! In addition, theres a somewhat short and scenic walk along the ocean into town where there are tons of cute shops and restaurants. There is a small store where you can check in. Furthermore, San Simeon and Cambria are less than a 30 minute drive and are also great towns to explore. We will definitely be back and highly recommend!

We stayed here September 5-12 of 2024. First of all they have about 4 women running the office. It was easy checking in. We stayed in space 90. A bit narrower then we've had at other places. But it was cozy. I'm not sure if you can request a spot. Or you just go where they put you. It was just my husband and I. No pets. The grounds and bathrooms are being cleaned daily by many workers on golf carts . It was really nice. The only thing I would like was to get a confirmation of our stay through Email. They don't send out one. We totally enjoyed this place. It was a short walk to the beach and town. Everyone seemed friendly. As it should be. Can't wait to come back. Thanks to all the staff.

Love this place. Right next to the beach and next to the Morro Bay Rock. If you bring bicycles you can easily ride to town in about 10 minutes. They have plenty of RV and tent spaces. But some of the spaces can be pretty small. We always tent camp and have always enjoyed the area.

This is out to go place! Love that it's close to town, so you can take a short 10-15 minute walk into town. A view of Morro Rock can be seen from the campground as well and it is basically next to the beach! No online reservations but the ladies in the office are always helpful! We go here at least once or twice a year! Love this campground!

Great campsite with a beautiful beach and view just outside the gate. Really couldn't have asked for more. There plenty of street parking for visitors and the town where shops and food is at is only 15 minutes away by foot on a nice boardwalk. We paid $44/night which was great including all services and access to a full shared bath.

Morro Bay's best kept secret. It's literally a crosswalk to the beach. A million thank you to Ginger for getting us a reservation the same day, especially during the most busiest 4th of July weekend holiday ever. Shout out to all the staff at Morro Dunes. They provided us a phenomenal service. Kudos to their maintenance crew! This resort is super clean, including their restroom with showers and laundromat. The washer and dryer were also very modern. There's also a doggy area inside the resort. Our space was on the corner and we lucked out because there were shade for our dogs. We also had a nice fire pit and got full hookups which included 50/30/20 AMPS, Water and Sewage. There's a firepit and a picnic table and benches for eating outside right in our space. They have a nice general store that's open daily until 5pm, right at the main office. I forgot to bring my water hose and bought one here. Best of all, it was a minute walk from our space to the outside gates and we were literally at the beach. It was amazing as we had the view of The Rock. We will definitely return and next time, we will bring our bikes and dog trailer as we saw a trail that lead to Morro Bay downtown where they have tons of shops and plenty of outstanding delicious restaurants. I highly recommend. Cheers!

They control the two parks well. Big RVs are separate from smaller ones. Of course it's Morro Bay so what could be bad!!

It's an easy walk to the embarcadero. It's very quiet with few children. They also have showers.

Ask the Community - Morro Dunes RV Park

Is there another way to reach them? The phone # listed is always busy.

I emailed them and they replied during a time they were taking phone calls. The office is pretty small so I would check availability by email before calling to save yourself time.

Is the morro dunes going to be open this week Monday-Friday?

I believe so

How far is the walk to restaurants and shops?

3/4 to a mile but it's a beautiful walk

What is the check in time and check out time?

Check in time is 1pm, check out time is 11:30am.

Do they allow pets?

They do and there are plenty of guests with pets. Also has a fenced dog run. Must use a leash unless in the dog run.

Is there sites for tent canping?

Hi David, I think there is, but call the office to be sure.

Is there online reservations?

No, we had to call. And they didn't send any email confirmations either. But our reservation was there when we checked in so just give them a phone call.

Are there fire pits on the tent camping site as well?

Yes

I'm still in the tent camping community wich I love. Affordable, friendly service, clean, showers available w warm water, walking distance to the ocean with in a 100 yards, my favorite also walking distance 10 min walk to the coffee shops and all good all round. Good location near the beach( morro rock)

We booked two sites about eight months in advance and were told by the girl who works in the office…read morethat we were being given some of the best sites in the park. Then the owner, Larry, called us a couple of weeks before our arrival and asked us to switch sites. Telling us that the ones we had booked were no good and the ones he wanted us in were much better. We declined. Glad we did. The sites he wanted us to switch to were half the size of the ones that we already had. He was just trying to gaslight us so that someone else could have our spots. Once we got there the entire back half of our site was completely flooded preventing us from backing in all the way. Fortunately it dissipated quickly. When we mentioned it to Larry he said that we would have to "talk to God about that". They do have showers on site but the hot water didn't work. When my wife went to the office to mention it to them she was told that we were doing it wrong and the way to do it is to turn on the hot water faucet that is on the outside of the bathroom until hot water comes out and then go to the shower and turn on the hot water. I don't know why we didn't think of that. By the second day of that we were told that the water heater was broken and there would be no more hot water until it was fixed. That didn't happen during the remainder of our stay. Lastly, my daughter and her partner had four storage totes stacked neatly in front of their rv and Larry came over and very rudely told her that they couldn't have those there and that "this isn't a storage facility". Completely ignoring the other campers there who also had totes outside of their rigs. Overall we were very happy to be in Morro Bay but next time we're there we'll seek accommodations elsewhere. Between the facilities being kept in a state of disrepair and, most of all, Larry we have no desire to stay in that park again.

Very close to Avila Beach, Avila Valley Barn, and close to Pismo Beach. About 22 miles from Morro Bay. Sites are level gravel, w/ a picnic table. Some have a concrete pad, chairs, umbrella, BBQ, and propane fire pit, and enclosed pet yard. 5 ft. wooden fencing between sites provides a bit of privacy. Facility is clean, well kept. Staff are polite, helpful. Sites reasonable size, we had plenty of room in a back in and pull thru. Many amenities families might enjoy. A drawback is road noise. Facility backs up directly to the 101. You will hear vehicles, sirens, etc. It didn't really bother us for an overnight stay. Would stay here again.

We rented a premium site with a dog relief area which was very nice, as shown in my photo. We were right near the front of the park though, so traffic was very heavy and our dogs were consistently entertained by the people walking by our site. There are also small cabins for rent in the park and our site butted right up next to one. It was WAY too close IMO because their windows went directly into our site. Kinda awkward. This park was very busy since we stayed over the weekend and was full of people who were attending a nearby baseball tournament. That meant a lot of kids and some with no supervision. One night I had to go outside to ask kids to stop running through our site because it was well past the quiet hours and disturbing our dogs. I didn't notice any park employee enforcing rules so that was kind of a bummer. The store onsite was very nice and our kids took advantage of the game room, namely pool and the ping pong table. Overall we would stay here again, but request a site that was near the back of the park and maybe off to the side to avoid so much traffic.
