    Quail and tomato bread

Delicious!! Get the quail - yummy. Smaller spot, with great prices. I come here every time I'm in Barcelona!

    This Bomba was bomb

Morrysom was probably one of the best meals I had while in Barcelona. My boyfriend and I came in for some tapas at around 11 PM on a Friday night. There were so many things that we wanted to order. Our waiter was super nice - he heard all the things we wanted to order and stopped us from over-ordering, and I'm glad he did because the amount of food that we did end up getting was enough. We ordered the "small" meat plate. I say "small" because it definitely would have been enough for four people. It had four different types of meats, including morcilla and jamon, as well as some cheese. We ordered a side of the tomato bread and it was a great accompaniment to the meat plate, as it helped cut the saltiness. Then we had a bomba, which is a stuffed mashed potato ball - in this case with cheese, and then topped with some kind of tomato-ey sauce. One of these is huge, so one to share is perfect for two people. It tastes slightly different than a croquette, and I really liked it. Finally, we had some gambas de ajillo (garlic shrimp), which was the star of the show. The shrimp tasted super fresh and all that garlic oil just brought out its flavor. We loved it so much that we started dipping the tomato bread in it. On top of all of this, we had a glass of wine each and our total bill came out to just €23! Definitely recommend if you're staying in the Eixample area!

    Mussels, pedrón peppers, mushrooms, sangria

Our Airbnb host gave us a list of places to try and this was one of them. A very local spot where you will rarely find any tourists or English speaking people here. We sat outside and ordered ourselves a good amount of tapas. Again, there was no disappointments here. The mushrooms were cooked perfectly with the perfect amount of garlic and broth (whatever they put on it). Their peppers were amazing, maybe a little too generous with the salt. Sangria was refreshing, as always. Their mussels were drenched in an addicting broth that was too good not to finish. If you're into finding more local places and don't mind practicing your Spanish, I would recommend this place. The tapas were great!

This place is packed and full of locals. We came here for lunch and there was only one server upstairs. I could tell he was pressured since he had to wait the entire floor himself. He tried his best to translate but was rushing to cater other tables. Not a tourist spot. I ordered the special of the day which started off with a salad, then seafood paella followed by fried fish with fries. There was no way I could finish it. I had no idea what the price was going to be but everyone ordered it so I went for it. This was my first seafood paella and I liked it. There wasn't much flavor to it so I used the sauce in my friend's mussel tapas. They give a lot of rice. The fish was satisfying and I wish I knew I could swap the fries for greens. I saw another table have fish with salad. The peppers tapas plate had way too much sea salt but still yummy. Overall, great local meal with reasonably prices. My dish was a little over 10 euros!

We found this place after our long train ride from San Sebastián to Barcelona. This place was a 15 minute walk from our Airbnb and came highly recommended by Yelp. Everything we ordered was excellent especially my favorite the padron peppers.

    Fried anchovies

The venue looks very traditional inside with wooden chairs and tables. We sat on the second floor and ordered the Patatas bravas, fried anchovies, mussels, fried calamari, and paella. Everything including service and price was good. I really recommend this place for all their tapas. However, I don't recommend the paella because it's 1 shrimp, 1 mussel and mostly rice. Definitely order the patatas bravas!

This was our first restaurant in Spain and it was a great introduction to the culture. It was right by our hostel and our server recommended the best tapas. We got the calamari, tomato bread, mushrooms and sausage, croquetas, and of course the sangria! Our service was awesome and the food came out fast. Definitely recommend for a quick bite to eat!

We got there right when it was opening and our waitress spoke real good English and I ordered a beer and the black ink paella. There were a lot of good looking dishes available though! If we were here longer, I would have tried their regular paella as well, I liked it because you could order a single serving, which seemed a little rare in Barcelona. The dish came out about fifteen minutes later, which is good for paella, because you know they made it fresh. I heard some places just nuke it and bring it out. It comes out in the cool looking pan that looks like a gold mining pan. It is colored deep black and has a huge prawn in the middle and lots of clams and mussels and calamari. The rice was cooked perfectly and the black squid ink sauce was delectable. Great service and my second beer was a great pairing for a lunch that fills you up perfectly. The foie gras was absolutely unforgettable--rich, delicate, and simply to die for. The sangria was equally exceptional, fresh, balanced, and dangerously delicious. The sangria was delicious, refreshing, and made to order. It was definitely more authentic than what we're getting in America. We ordered the patatas bravas, tempura asparagus, the octopus, and the steak. It all came out as it became available. We couldn't decide what our favorite was, to be honest. We ordered an ice cream sandwich for dessert and quickly requested our bill. We didn't want to hold the staff up as we noticed they were cleaning the establishment and people were finishing up. Taverna El Glop wraps you up in its warm, lively atmosphere the second you walk in. We were a group of four, and from start to finish, we had an awesome time. The open kitchen is a great touch -- you can watch the chef in action, which adds to the energy and makes the whole experience feel more connected and authentic. We shared a bunch of dishes, and everything was on point. The paella was rich and delicious -- exactly what we came for. The patatas bravas were crispy, creamy, and gone in seconds, and the shishito peppers were the perfect salty, snacky starter. Of course, we had to get a pitcher of sangria (okay, maybe two), which was fruity, refreshing, and just strong enough to keep things festive. The space itself has this great, rustic charm -- complete with checkered tablecloths and even an old cigarette machine near the bar (haven't seen one of those since I was a kid -- aren't those banned in the U.S. now?). I don't smoke -- smoking sucks -- but it added a bit of unexpected nostalgia and character. Service was excellent. I always make a point to be friendly, ask people their names, and introduce myself -- and that's usually met with warmth. It definitely was here. The staff were quick, kind, and seemed to enjoy the place as much as we did. Personally, I loved it. It's the kind of place you remember -- not because it's fancy or trendy, but because it's fun, flavorful, and full of heart. Highly recommend if you're in the area.
