Beers and burgers after a tubing trip Down the Shenango River . There was a band playing and the place was packed.. even though it had started pouring once we got there . Stopped here for a late afternoon lunch while out exploring with family. Loved the property as a whole - lots of covered outdoor seating and indoor seating was comfortable while we waited for our drinks. Food was delicious and reasonably priced - the loaded mac and cheese was perfect and my husband enjoyed this smash burger. We stuck to the beers/ciders but they had a great cocktail list, too. There's plenty to do there since it's attached to a small winery, ax throwing and gift shop. We'd definitely return on our next trip out! read more

Great brewery near Pymatuming State Park! I love the set up of this place. It shares the property with a winery, a shop, and a kayak rental place. The place is really large- particularly the patio. It is a great place to hang out and try craft beer. Cocktail options too. They have food as well as live music. I went a few times during my camping trip- one time on a Sunday and they were packed-- people were even bringing their own chairs! The place is also dog friendly and there were a lot of dogs there- which my dog definitely enjoyed! I will definitely be back next time I am in the area! read more

A true and tasty delight! We make it a point to plan a day trip to this brewery - that's how good the beer is and how lovely the atmosphere is! Whether it's cold outside and you can cozy up inside of the incredible rustic yet architecturally rich environment and take in some bluegrass or roam outside among the sprawling areas, you're gonna be comfortable and enchanted. I've never tried a beer here that wasn't top notch. My hubby, who is an IPA enthusiast, was crazy over many of the IPAs, while I loved seeing a perfectly done Kolch on the menu, in addition to a great Pils and some darker favorites too. There is a modest yet deeply satisfying menu that includes a homemade pretzel shaped like the logo of the brewery along with pierogis and many burgers. If you sit outside it will be hard to resist the sandwiches which you can smell and watch cooking. The location is very convenient to Pymatuning State Park, especially the Jamestown facilities or Ohio/Andover facilities. It's a short and direct drive over to I-79 so this is a very accessible place if you're traveling from or between Erie and Pittsburgh. While I've not tried the adjoining winery yet it will be part of the itinerary next time, as it was equally inviting! I cannot wait to return. Highly recommend! read more

This place is definitely just as good as the reviews suggest. We were visiting Pymatuning Lake and a couple of friends who also visit the area from time to time told us that Mortals Key was their favorite. Now we know why! The atmosphere with the dog-friendly outdoor dining is outstanding. The brisket tray was terrific. The beer was super, especially the Baltic Porter and the New England IPA. (I took home a growler...) The bartender, Chris, was very gracious, and the young lady working the kitchen was friendly and kind. We really enjoyed our experience in a brand new place for us. We enjoyed a flight of beer and some snacks here on a Friday afternoon. My favorite beer was the sour beer they were featuring, very tasty and had a floral taste to it, ended up getting a glass after we finished the flight . We shared an order of pierogies which were flavorful and a pretzel which was good with some nice dipping sauces. Their outdoor patio is very large and very nice. The view is beautiful as well. The inside of the brewery looked really nice too. Food selection is limited and it's mostly small plates. Not necessarily an actual dinner menu. The bathrooms were nice. I was turned off by the fact that the man pouring the beer was not wearing a mask nor were some of the customers in line. Definitely not happy about that. read more

Being a first-timer, I ordered a flight with two porters, an amber and a few others. I really liked them all but the sour porter and amber were my favorites. We ordered two different pizzas: a roasted tomato and white pizza with banana peppers. They were so good! There was a guy playing guitar and he sang a variety of different types of music. Came here for a few drinks for my friend's bachelorette party weekend! The location is absolutely beautiful and I love that there is a winery next door- there's something for everyone here. Although the food looked wonderful, I only had some beers. I tried a flight- which was reasonably priced and was a great way for me to try multiple beers. I really liked their ESB and their hefe. I was not so much of a fan of their raspberry beer. Overall, this is a wonderful place to bring beer drinks and non-drinkers alike! What an unbelievable eating and beer experience, this place was. A most beautiful facility, with very interesting and relaxing seating. Our bartender, Nick is a really cool guy with tremendous knowledge of the brewery and the beers. A sample flight of 5 types lead us to our choices of Porter and a hearty stout! I had to get verbal with the cook, a big, friendly guy who prides himself on his smoking and preparations of brisket and pork shoulder. Great beers! Choose from a Kolsch, Amber, IPA or Porter. If you want to try them all you can get a flight. They also have growlers available. It's located right next to Lago Winery and offers a great view of a cute Bed and Breakfast up the hill. Love the atmosphere here. Great outdoor space with tables and stools. The inside of the brewery is pretty unique with an old bus, boat motor tables and some old church pews. This is the type of place you can spend an entire Saturday afternoon hanging with friends. This place is just cool. The whole set up is over the top. There is a winery there as a bonus. The brisket was really great and the NEIPA matched. We sat outside because of Covid and had plenty of space. The food took a little longer to come out than we would have liked but that just gave our group longer to taste the beer. Samantha H. was right. This place has terrible service. It was our first time as well and were not sure how their set up worked. As we were the only people in the bar, we just stood there as the three employees behind the bar carried on a conversation with one another. Finally, I asked if we could sit anywhere, do we order at the bar, etc. The bartender was polite when she finally acknowledged us and took our orders. At first, we were told it would be a few moments until our food was ready but then another employee came over and told us that it would be about 15-20 minutes. No big deal. Over an hour later we were still waiting for our food. I went up to the food pick-up counter and asked if any of our food was done. The girl just looked at me and said, "No". That was it. I told her we had been waiting for over an hour so she said she would check in with the kitchen to see if it was almost ready. The kitchen is outside and the cook was looking directly at us and said, "No it's not ready! I am only one person and I'm going as fast as I can". Like somehow, it was our fault that we had ordered food. Overall the food was just ok. The atmosphere was decent. Will we be back? Eek! Methinks not! Love love love love the atmosphere and feel of the brewery and Lago winery. They are on the same property and connected (you can order food/drinks from either). The beers are brewed on site and there's typically 5-8 beers on draft to choose from. They have a good variety typically always have a stout, pilsner, and lager style on draft with a couple other seasonal styles on draft as well. Beers are 5-7 dollars each so very reasonably priced! The food is quite good but a bit on the pricy side. I like the BBQ and sauces offered at mortal keys much better than the pizzas from Lago. The pizzas are quite small and incredibly overpriced. They taste good but 17 dollars for a maybe 10inch thin crust pizza with a sprinkle of toppings is just to much. This is an excellent place to stop and grab drinks with a date or a group of friends. There's plenty of outdoor seating and the whole place has a light open and airy feel. Check out carried away kayak and paddle boarding. It's a perfect afternoon spent yaking down the river or on pymatuning lake then follow it up with a few beers at the brewery! Check out their website to see if there's any live music playing. What a hidden gem! We stopped here this past weekend on our first trip to Pymatuning. There is plenty of outdoor seating as well as a sizable bar and seating inside. We tried their sample paddle and all the beers were really delicious. The service was great and my cousin is a vet and appreciated their military discount for growlers. While they don't have bottles or cans to go yet, you can get a growler or crowler. For food, there is some delicious BBQ. My only issue was with their coleslaw. Not good. it would just shredded cabbage with olive oil on top. Not my cup of tea. I would definitely recommend a day trip out here. They are fabulous! read more

Very good beer here! The food menu is quite small, so I took off a star for that. But the atmosphere and beer make up for the lack of food.
