5 - I'd try to convince my wife to drive an hour just to come here. Skip to the end to see my rating scale. What a great find! The three things I look for in a brewery are a dog-friendly outdoor space, accessibility to some good grub, and (of course) some quality beers. Riverside easily accomplishes all three. The venue is fantastic. Two spacious open dining rooms, one of which opens to an inviting outdoor patio. Take a few steps down and you're in another outdoor hangout that includes another bar and a stage for live music. I didn't take advantage of the food opportunities, but it smelled delicious. They have their own kitchen on the premises and seem to specialize in BBQ. The couple of plates I saw people enjoying made me regret my decision to have a hot dog at the golf course before coming here! They have a nice variety of brews to choose from and judging by the flight I finished, there's something for every taste. Beyond beer, they had cider, wine, and some hard liquors too (if I remember right). For sure I intend to try to convince Mama to visit for a night, get a room nearby, and sip on a few drinks on a warm evening when a band is playing. We are here at the music festival. We came from Pittsburgh. The bartender went out of her way to make us happy. She was told to serve beer only in plastic because of the amount of people attending the festival. I told her I didn't want plastic. She made sure I knew she was going against orders but gave me glass anyway. She definitely made an impression on me. I will be back for many reasons. Our bartenders name was Casey. My wife and I stopped for lunch last weekend and had a really good time. This was our second visit here and will make it a point to stop anytime we are close. Service was good, beer was very good, the food was excellent and came out in a reasonable time. IMO, if you go to a brewery and get really good service, beer and food, that is all you can ask for and deserving of 5 stars. I was surprised that the overall review score was not higher, so I read some older reviews. One person gave 1 star because they were cut off so that is invalid by default and some others complained about loud live music. News flash, just about every brewery in the US has a band on Friday and Saturday nights, this is nothing new. Remember that you are going to a brewery that serves food, not a restaurant that serves beer. If you want a quiet dinner, go to a restaurant, then go to the brewery! read more

My wife & I dined at Riverside Brewery Co. for the first time on Sun., 01/12/2025. Arriving around 4:30 p.m., the restaurant was not as busy as I expected but more patrons came in during the time we were there. I loved the decor & atmosphere. Something I particularly liked was the venue was relatively quiet despite all the hard surfaces. You could actually have a conversation without shouting. Our server was excellent. We had asked for recommendations being this was our first visit. Though the chili sounded appealing, it is a dish I often have elsewhere. I decided on the beef vegetable rice soup which was delicious. However, our server brought me a sample of the chili should I want it next time. Five stars for both the chili sample & customer service to provide it! For an entrée, I had the Butcher's Cut sandwich with fresh cut fries. The fries were very good. The sandwich tasted good but was lackluster in its portions. My wife had gluten free pasta with marinara sauce which she also found to be very good but, despite the price, was not accompanied by any kind of salad. Price cost Riverside Brewing Company one star in my recommendation. In our opinion, pricing was 20% too high. I know food costs have soared & Riverside Brewing Company prides itself on farm-to-table fare. I will not take issue with others who may disagree with me. My opinion is only meant to prepare those giving consideration to dining here. I am not including in my review the beverage menu or outside seating area. I seldom drink but saw several adult beverages which looked appealing. Came in for dinner using the Erie Dining card (BOGO entrée). The food, the portions, the prices...they were all so good and I blew through my WeightWatchers points. I highly recommend a visit to Riverside. We started the meal with a charcuterie board (so much meat and cheese); I had the fried pork chop for dinner. The meat was tender and juicy with a crispy breading. The mashed potatoes, cabbage, and mushrooms were excellent accompaniments. So myself and close friends and family have enjoyed many a relaxing Sunday at Riverside. This Sunday meeting my sisters and husbands to finally relax after my moms passing on 01/05/26 changed my feelings completely for this brewery that I recommended many times to others. They completely offended all of us by choosing not to serve us another beer that we were sharing. We are older people who enjoy a beer and are responsible enough to always have a DD. Without much more - know this: this is not a place to frequent- the food's not anything special. It was about the atmosphere which bc after today is also not so special. In years past my family has come for brunch which is always delicious, but this year we decided to come for dinner. I started off with the salad and the French onion soup. The soup had so much flavor. For an appetizer we ordered a pretzel which fed 6 of us! For dinner I ordered an Italian sausage pizza. The pizza was good, the crust is sweet, heads up! The wide range of seating can accommodate larger parties. They have indoor and outdoor seating as well! I went on a Friday and they had live music which is always a bonus! Came for a dinner with extended family, were seated in a timely manner in the outdoor section. All was well until the live band started. Music started blasting through the space and made it virtually impossible to have any kind of conversation. The bass made everything vibrate and was very unsettling. A few members of our party became quite nauseous and one had to excuse himself to be sick. To echo other reviewers' sentiments, this is not about a distaste for live music. Rather about time and place, and dinner wasn't the time nor the place. All we could think about was how soon we could leave. Food was fine, perhaps good, but was overshadowed by the unhealthy ambiance supplied by the band. All of us came away from the dinner with headaches and nausea. Our first visit to Riverside this weekend and we were amazed! I have been in the restaurant business for 40+ years so I'm a critic! The place is family owned and the decor and grounds scream this is a local gem! Our server Emily was stellar! She described things to us and made us laugh numerous times. She was fantastic! My amber beer was best I've had in a long time. My wife's old fashioned was made correctly and was delicious. We had the meat and cheese tray. Highly recommended- the cheeses were amazing. Towards the end of our visit. I complained to Emily that I wanted more Amber beer but had to drive home. She says that's not a problem!! After discussion, she went and sold us a growler filled with that delicious beer. We will be back soon and will bring more family AND we will ask for Emily. Great job to all there. A+ read more

Every restaurant has an off day. So far, NOT this one. We took my daughter there for her birthday and the food and service was excellent. SHAME ON ME for not remembering our server's name but she was friendly, attentive, and a pro! This is by far my favorite restaurant to go to when in the Meadville area and I can't wait till it gets warm again because that's when this restaurant REALLY shines. A large group of us arrived for dinner and were enjoying the conversation. All was well until the "band" started. I can't even call what they were playing music. It was HORRIBLE!!! One of our friends had a decibel reading function on his phone and it recorded a 95. That is above the safe threshold and causes permanent damage after as little as 15 minutes. Needless to say, all our conversation ceased. From the moment the band started, the night was ruined. The volume level was downright dangerous and the management should have done something about it. There were children there who are particularly vulnerable to permanent hearing loss. I will not be going back. The food was mediocre for what we paid and the atmosphere was shattered when the band started making that awful racket. read more

Wow! I was pleasantly surprised by how good all the food was here! The place alone is beautiful. They had bands playing and they were far enough away to where you can enjoy the music but still be able to talk with your table. We got the nachos & Brussel sprouts as the appetizers. The nachos were AMAZING! The Brussel sprouts could of been cooked longer since a lot of them were still hard. We got pizza, chicken sandwich, steak sandwich, and the Cuban Ruben. The Cuban Ruben wasn't that great. It was very dry. The pizza was super good, they are also big enough to share with 2-3 people. Went here for a business dinner for my first time. For the 12 of us there, this place had no problem, making sure that we were all serviced. All the meals were delivered together. We had several of their appetizers, all were very delicious in the serving sizes were very good for us all to share. For dinner I had the fish tacos, which was their special for the night and fresh cut fries. My meal was very delicious very good with two tacos and the fries more than sufficient for a dinner. I was talked into getting the maple shake with a shot of bourbon in it , would definitely recommend that to anybody else would probably also be very good without the bourbon in it! We did also try some of their homebrewed beer, I believe mine was called maple sugar, Moon pale. If you like pale ale, you will probably like this one very much. Would definitely recommend this place looks like once the weather gets nice outside they also have entertainment outside. read more

Visiting from Texas and stopped in for dinner with family. Was amazed at the building and the outdoor silo bar. Started off with the Hazy River IPA. What a great beer! Very busy for a Wednesday night with lots of large groups which might explain the slow service. My spouse had a French onion soup. Instead of carmelized onions, it had pearl onions. It was just okay. Spouse ordered 8 oz. Filet with mashed potatoes, expecting butter soft meat. He found it to be tough. I had 12 oz. Ribeye, medium rare. What I got was a boneless rib steak. If I were to guess, the meat is locally sourced and not aged. Beans and greens tasted like straight from a can with a couple of spinach leaves stirred in. The only seasoning was salt and salt! Caesar salad was not Caesar salad. It was tossed greens, grape tomatoes, croutons with bottled Caesar dressing. Other reviewers had commented that drinks were small and overpriced. I concur. We should have read reviews like I usually do before ordering or ordered the wood fired pizza and sandwiches that went to other tables. We will be back to try sandwiches and pizzas! read more

The salmon was excellent.The salad had a very generous portion of greens, a very generous portion of roasted squash, a sprinkling of roasted pepitas (I would have liked more), some goat cheese, (I would have liked more) and an excellent piece of salmon, which was also very generous- maybe 8 oz. Our server was quick and efficient and around as much as we needed him. My only critique is tiny wine pours for $8. That's a little ridiculous. If you're going to charge that much for wine, have a good pour. I ordered the Brussel sprouts app with goat cheese and balsamic glaze and they were the best I've ever had!!! My friends got the pretzel sticks and the French onion soup and they were average, but good. By the time my duck Mac and cheese came, I was too full to eat, but my husband liked it. The boys shared a pizza and they said it was good; nothing special. I noticed at other tables a lot of their crust was burnt. Overall it was fun. I would return next time I am in the area! read more
