1 star is too many. I came to Morton Ranch Smiles in early April, after swapping jobs and my old dentist coming out of network for the new company's insurance. The lobby floor had crumbs and some food wrappers, but I figured a kid may have just eaten a snack and the staff were too busy to sweep. I went back for what should have been a routine cleaning. I was several months overdue, but not an exorbitant amount of time. It took them 2 hours to get me x-rayed and for a hygienist to do an initial evaluation. They came back to tell me that I had moderate periodontitis/gum recession and I'd need a deep laser clean. They also said that I had a tooth in danger of collapse. While they were going over this a third person came into the room to try to sell me on a payment plan, for me to find out that this would cost me a little over $1,000 after insurance. The red flags were going off so I requested a print out of the procedures needed, and left. My company, fortunately switched to another insurance shortly after, and I was able to return to my previous dentist in May. They took their own x-rays and measurements and it must be a miracle, because there was no sign of tooth collapse or gum recession at all. Not even a cavity. All that to say don't walk, run away from Morton Ranch Smiles. At best their practices are predatory, at worst fraudulent. read more

Been coming here for a while and finally decided to go somewhere else. Everytime they always try to up-sale or force us (my husband or I) to get unnecessary treatments. He is needing a small filling for a small part that chipped off his tooth but they are trying to force him to get a crown on top of the fill. Definitely unnecessary. They have also been trying to force me to get a crown for a while too when it is unneeded. Tread carefully and advocate for yourself. A lot of dentist offices pull insurance scams and I'm pretty sure that is what's happening here. read more

I came to Morton Ranch Smiles with tooth pain and left with trauma. Dr. Rivera shaved my gum and tooth without proper pain management. He mentioned Tylenol with codeine, then changed his mind and told me to gargle salt water. After the anesthesia wore off, I was in excruciating pain and had to be rushed to the ER by my child. I received real treatment there--steroids, pain meds, and a $2,500 bill. The next day, I returned because the temporary cap fell off. They charged me $90 and asked if I had gargled salt water. That was their pain protocol. I requested my billing details and treatment plan. Still waiting. When I called to discuss it, the office manager said she'd "protect her doctor." If you're part of a marginalized group, in pain, or expect accountability--look elsewhere. This office failed me medically, financially, and ethically. read more

I want it to be know that I came in for a crown that had come off. This crown was put on only 2 years ago, by Morton Ranch Smiles, (I've been a patient for over 6 years now), it should not have come off. I was to pay for the service of re-cementing the crown. This is not acceptable. When the customer service person told me the cost she would not even meet me halfway. So I asked her if she was ok with me walking out over this cost, she said yes. I will never be back, and I will post this experience along with the many other complaints that I see. I wish I could rate them at ZERO stars! read more

Believe every single horrible review from this place from the start to the finish. This place is a MESS. Whoever I booked my appointment with ended up adding my son's pediatric dental insurance, which is connected to the marketplace through me. They didn't even check that it's not for adults. I called again, telling them my insurance had updated. I gave them my information, and they searched the name and DOB. They said they took it, even though I asked them to make sure they take DHMO. They said that we take everything from the provider I gave them. Nearly two hours into this appointment, the front desk said they don't take it. Furthermore, they didn't even update my chart with the new insurance I provided after they gave me a quote for cleaning and a root canal for nearly $4k! I started the appointment at 10:30, left at 12:15, only to find out they don't even take the insurance. I went through all the X-rays, waited forever, and it was an absolute MESS. The front desk is incompetent, and the doctor gave no apology (just excuses) for keeping me waiting 20+ minutes at each step. You think medical school will teach you how to manage your time, but I guess it doesn't. Stay away from this place. The only thing they had going was that it was a clean place, but I think that's only because they don't see patients enough, or they never get to the actual cleaning because the front desk is there to warm seats. read more

I don't even know where to start. I came here a few years ago, I didn't care for the service at all. The dentist was a joke and didn't know what she was doing. I had a bridge done that wasn't done properly and now I suffer with mouth pain. It's a shame that some people get license to mess up things. After I had that work done, I never went back. It seems they are taking on more patients than the doctors can handle. I have called for a few things where the phone was never picked up or was told my call would be returned but never did. I came here to correct my cross bite in February 2022. My orthodontist suggested we get braces. I agreed because I trusted her medical diagnosis even though I had brought up that a previous orthodontist mentioned she would not treat me and suggest I consult medically for orthognatic surgery because the root issue was my jaw alignment, that was causing my teeth misalignment. We installed expanders in the summer of 2022 and then the orthodontist ended up suggesting at one of our check ins, I seek an oral surgeon to fully correct everything who then said we need to take out the expander and reverse the brace treatment from the last 7 months. It is now October 2022 and my teeth have huge gaps. my bite also no longer closes down and only a few teeth are touching making it even more difficult to speak and eat. It's sad because my orthodontist and the front office are very pleasant and friendly but I feel like possibly things were overlooked and patients are not getting quality care because they are burnt out or expected to take on excessive number of patients as a franchise.. Trying to stay positive and trust the process, but hopefully this helps someone else to make sure to always get a second or third medical opinion and be cautious of how busy it gets here.. read more

It's been awhile since I've visited the dentist due to having bad experiences at previous places. Came in and they were very informative. They explained everything in detail and in a professional manner. The typical experience here is you get x rays done, then a hygienist comes in to see your gum health, then the dentist comes and explains what you may need done with your overall teeth health, after discussing someone will come from the front desk and discuss what insurance covers and pricing going forward. I got a deep cleaning done and laser therapy here and it was handled very well. Great experience overall! read more

The orthodontist is a literal joke. It switched like 4 different people for one and the current one is a gaslighter who didn't listen to my multiple concerns about my dental health. They are rude and have terrible attitudes. One gets judge for bad dental hygiene without considering other thing like patients mental health and situation. let my teeth imperfect and and lack of in inability to eat sweet things. I have been coming to Morton Ranch Smiles since they opened. I've always been big on dental hygiene and started encouraging my husband & other family members to go as well. I referred several neighbors as well, as we live so close by. Dr. Jaswal & Dr. Randhawa are so welcoming, knowledgeable, and friendly. However, they saying is true...."one bad apple can spoil a bunch". I finally decided to get get braces for a minor imperfection & encountered Dr. Yang. Worst decision. Dr.Yang is arrogant and rude. Not just to his staff, but to the patients. He always seems to be in a rush and doesn't listen. My issue only took 6-8 weeks to fix. I voiced how I wasn't sure about one tooth and he immediately got annoyed (not the first time) and told me he did his job & I could go to the front desk and work our numbers with them and pay again. Normally I'm pretty vocal, but was shocked and had no words. I had to come back later in the day for my retainer and the hygienist knew he was out of line and asked Dr. Randhwa to see me. I did not request this. Though, she was able to explain what he couldn't and offered additional services, it didn't erase the experience and feeling. One hygienist said maybe he was "hangry" & another said he is always that way. When he speaks to them it's uncomfortable. He speaks at them and gives command as though he is talking to a servant. It's been about 4-5 months since my visit and I am still disgusted. Once I asked him if he was going to the local Asia town for lunch as it just opened and I've been there frequently as it has a lot of attraction...he sarcastically responded..."yeah because I'm asian and I practice out here just for the Asia town". I think he thought I was being judgements and I said...actually I'm half asian too and I just love it and it's new and nearby. It was just awkward, weird, and uncalled for. I just got my braces a off almost two weeks ago. Now that I look at my teeth a lot more I'm noticing my teeth still aren't straight. I called them 3 days after I had gotten my braces off bc my retainer was extremely lose and it would come off when i talked and people were telling me it wasn't supposed to be like that so I also called because my retainer was pushing on my gum line really hard and now my gum line has receded. I called them at 8:30am she said the orthodontist was busy and that she would have her call me. This is the most unprofessional dentist practice I have even been to. Durning my initial visit the hygienist talked about wanting to quit due to pay and how unorganized the front desk staff are (they are also very rude). They were so busy talking about wanting to quit that they apparently forgot to explain the aftercare for my temporary crowns. I was not informed that I could not floss, which caused my crown to fall out. I returned to have them correct it, and found there was additional aftercare they did not tell me originally. They called me on a Monday to confirm a Thursday appointment. Less than 24 hours before my appointment they said I would have to come in 2-3 hours early, they clearly have NO respect for your time. I was not able to make it at the adjusted time, because I had other obligations which I explained. I advised them over the phone to them that I would still be in later that day to have a permanent crown put in. When I arrived, the front desk said I had no appointment, which was a lie since I had an email confirmation, and I had called them earlier in the day to explain I would still be coming in at 3:30. At no point during the call did they explain the service could not be completed. When I showed up to the office the staff were rude and un empathetic. No apology or anything. Please please please save yourself the headache and go elsewhere. read more

At first I thought this was the best dental practice ever, as everyone was friendly and helpful. Then the deception began. I had a molar extracted in June, and was presented with two treatment options, bridge or implant. The dentist explained the differences, showing a clear preference for the implant option, and stating that the prep work for the implant procedure would be done that day and I would return in November for the implant as that was the length of time required to complete healing. A financial overview of the two choices was presented with my husband present, and the total cost out of pocket for me was going to be just over $2700 for the implant option, vs. just under $2000 for the bridge option. This involved the purchase of some policy sold by the office to reduce my overall cost. I pay my bill that day of $1047 and make my follow up appointment for November. November 21st arrives, and I'm told I won't be getting this gaping hole in my mouth filled, as the socket for the implant now must be installed. I am assured this is the last step of the procedure, because I am disappointed that I have to continue chewing on only one side of my mouth and having my tongue chaffed raw by the tooth with no neighbor to block it from my tongue. I am told that my payment of over $2000 is also due that day. I dispute this, as I clearly remember being told that the entire procedure will cost $2700. I receive apologies while the office finance guru makes some computer clicks and I am charged $1733. I make an appointment for a check up in 2 weeks to ensure everything has healed. I find out that my grandson's christmas concert is the same morning as my follow up appointment so I call to reschedule. I am told that, because the specialist I am scheduled to see is only in on Fridays, and she is going on maternity leave, that I cannot reschedule until February. I express my exhasperation as this is only supposed to be a check to make sure the sutures have dissolved, and am told that I will just skip that check and come in for the final appointment in February. Today, February 4th I call to schedule that final appointment. This time I am told that I cannot come in until after March 20th, as six months is required from post to implant. Even though this math seems off, November 21st to March 20 equals four months by my calendar, I am livid at this point because it was NEVER DISCLOSED to me that I would be eating on one side of my mouth for over nine months. I tell the office clerk to refund my account and I will go elsewhere to get this procedure completed, and am informed that I am not owed any money. As a matter of fact, I will owe an ADDITIONAL $1200 at the next visit for the actual implant. Now my mind is blown. I am not an angry person, and I try to keep my composure but this sent me over the deep end. The end result, my husband called the office back after calming me down enough so that I could go back to work. He scheduled an appointment for me for the next availalbe Friday which happens to be our anniversary and Valentines day (obviously our celebration that evening is now cancelled), to go in while they do even more prep and take impressions for a crown to be manufactured. It will be an additional two weeks until that will be completed, and I will have to pay the additional $1200. I hope my story will help another unsuspecting soul from going through what I am. In dentistry, full disclosure is necessary and setting an unreal expectation is BAD. Shame on this dental practice, once this is done I will not return, nor will I recommend. read more

This has been my dental office for a years now and I recently came in for a cleaning so thought I'd write a review. The check in is quick, and im always in and out with no wait times. Staff is always friendly to me and I've never had a bad experience. Dr. K and the hygienist are both very personable and friendly. I'm an existing patient, I went in to be seen for tooth pain. I was x-rayed and informed the cause of the pain was a fractured tooth, I mistakingly automatically thought I would be told I needed a root canal. Had a briefing with the billing coor who presented treatment plan (very detailed & included root canal) so I asked for alternative I had discussed with dentist to crown the tooth to see if the discomfort went away. Cost wise diff of approx $1,100. Called the following day to schedule the crown I decided on. The call center answered, informed me the record showed I needed a root canal, therefore she could not put me on the schedule for the crown I was asking to have done (billing coor would need to verify and call me back). Alicia called left message "yes you need a crown, you can do the crown first to see if the helps, if not then you would need a root canal." I missed the call that came in, tried booking online option. Ultimately I went in person to set an appointment, because off all the hassle, the pain is prolonged an entire week to await an available slot for the crown I need. Love my dentist, but not fond of the front office (turnovers seem common) and inconsistent with scheduling, records and billing. read more
