We tried Mo's for a weekday lunch. There was only one table occupied when we arrived but a few more Customers showed up before we left. For our lunch we split a Rustica pizza. Neither of us cared for it due to the overpowering taste of the fermented crust. Toppings were skimpy, but we couldn't really taste them due to the crust. Service was OK but as other reviews note, seemed very concerned about seating. It was a turn off for us. Beverages are priced by the glass and do not include refills. All in all, Mo's Wood Fired Kitchen was a one-and-done for us. Perhaps the rest of the menu is better than the pizza, but we're willing to take a chance and miss out on it. read more

Stopped here yesterday for lunch for the first time. Was greeted nicely and given a table right away. Decided on the bbq beef brisket sandwich with a salad. Meat was tender and filling. My waitress checked on me several times, and the price was good! Small place, but it was clean and quaint. I'd definitely visit again. read more

We found Mo's 4 or 5 years ago and immediately recognized the quality and went often. I do not know what changed but when my wife and I went in one day early this year we were told we could sit only at the (very) small 2 person tables even though it was early afternoon with no other customers.. We left. This week we tried again about 20 minutes before closing... there was only one other party in the restaurant. Delicious corned beef dinner!! The meat was tender and juicy and not too salty. The veggies (carrots, potatoes and cabbage) cooked to perfection. Much better than when I make it at home. We ordered a couple of pizzas for takeout. My husband got double pepperoni and said it was ok. I got the margherita and didn't like it. I didn't like the crust at all and there were no tomatoes on it as the description stated, it was more of a tomato paste. Yuck. My husband also got the wings and didn't like them. But last night we ordered pizza from Mo's and it was truly the worst pizza I've had in recent memory and with only five star reviews so far for this restaurant, I feel like I need to share my experience to offset those reviews. The "crust" was very doughy and soft, to the point or seeming not fully cooked. The sauce was bland and there was almost none of it, even though I asked for extra sauce. Great restaurant with a home town feel. My wife, family, and friends have eaten here many times and never had a bad meal. Service is always good. The haddock fish fry is the best, and the cold claw is tasty. The spare ribs are wonderful and mahi mahi was five star. The pizza is cooked in a wood fire oven and is the perfect size. Enjoyed lunch today at Mo's Wood Fired Kitchen . I ordered the fried chicken salad and it was so fresh and delicious. The honey mustard dressing was amazing and I am very picky about dressings. My husband enjoyed one of the wood fired pizzas and he thought it was the best we have had thus far in the area. Service was spot on and I did note they have a decent wine selection so definately will go back soon for dinner. The restaurant is in a strip mall but do not let the location fool you. We often go to Mo's, they never disappoint. We had the olive and cheese appetizer which was just enough and delicious. I had half roasted chicken, so juicy and done to perfection. Atmosphere was your average beach strip mall. Went during a weeknight around 5:30 PM. We were seated quickly. Menu is a bit all over the place with everything from brisket and ribs to personalized 10" Pizzas on 48 hour fermented dough. I had a pizza which crust was amazing; however, the toppings didn't match. Still raw (veggies), lacked flavor (sausage), but cooked to perfection. Tried pizza when they first opened and really liked although not much sauce . Wood fired made it taste better . Went in for burgers ... nothing special .. not much taste . Very average Then asked for mayo since it didn't have anything on it but LT . Charged .89 each for this tiny plastic cup . Charged over a $1 for cheese . The unsweetened tea was 0ver $3 like $3.49 . Only place I've been to where you can't get a to go cup of your drink . I like to support local but not like this . Won't be back .. other places so much better read more

My husband and I shared a burger to give the store a try. The burger was one of the best had since moving here 3 years ago. The cole slaw was also very good! Not creamy, sweet style, but a more tart and tangy style that we like. We look forward to visiting after 4pm, when the dining room is open. The owners/staff were pretty fun, too! read more

So good we went 3 times while visiting Oak Island for a week. Burgers are 1/2lb. and 1" thick- no "patties" like most places. Pizza was top notch, as well as brisket or pork rib dinners. Service was excellent and prices reasonable. We'll be back!! read more
